It is such a relief to find a car repair place with both skilled and honest people. They have fair prices, and they wont try to oversell you on services like I have experienced when I used to go to a dealership for services. I will continue to go here for all of my car repair needs.

Nick and his team were straight forward and honest.I have a minor oil leak that is a major repair based on my vehicle type. It would require two of their bays and the majority of the crew.They were willing and able to do it and stated that the cost would be quite high to get it done and provided alternatives that included 3rd parties due to the time frame that would be required. This also included ways I could save on cost which would not have benefited them.Ill be going back here for all my automotive needs moving forward.

Nick was great at helping me clarify what I needed done to tune up my older Sienna Van. I came in thinking I needed to replace all of my socks and struts and Nick said well before we jump into replacing them all lets check out how they are holding up. Turns out they are working just fine and he saved me the cost. I did get a new timing belt that was due to be replaced and my fluids changed. I really enjoyed the personal service and the work that was performed helped my van run well. I will be back with my Mazda soon.

Nick and his crew are awesome! At the beginning of summer, I decided to take my 02 Outback wagon to a shop to replace my struts and install my 2”/2.5” lift kit. Accidentally, I filled diesel in my sienna van and drove 4 to 6 miles without my knowledge. Van stopped 3 to 4 times and there was miss fire one time. Finally with great difficulty came to home. If anyone come across this situation, do not drive it, stop immediately and remove the fuel. Next day, I called Nick and fixed an appointment. After explaining the problem, Nick had clear technical expertise to repair it. He recommended to change the fuelPump. He did thorough inspection of sienna van, flushed all gas/diesel from the fuel lines. I am driving my sienna now and see no difference. As you can imagine, sienna drove with diesel, what will happen. Nick dealt the problem with thorough knowledge and I am thankful for the service. Finally, Nick is honest person and did not charge much.

Brought my Mercedes 500SL to get a recurring problem fixed with one of the front turn signals. I know, doesn’t sound like much but the way the signals work it’s not just changing a bulb; first Nick had to dissect the front end to get to it, then Nick replaced the entire socket to solve the problem once and for all. Mercedes dealership kept doing patches and charging Mercedes rates for sub-par work. Don’t be fooled, there’s a huge difference between a “parts changer” and a real mechanic. Flat 4 is the latter. I also bring my Xterra there. They did my timing belt, tensioner etc. and fixed some other issues that couldn’t be found until everything was apart. Saved me a lot of headaches down the road. They knew it needed to be done and got it done. I trust the guys at Flat 4. So can you. They’re also very customer friendly and when you leave you know you’ve found that shop you can trust.

This shop is located close to my work so I thought I’d drop my truck off for an oil change and I was very impressed.Oil prices were similar to other places but the customer service and knowledge of staff was far superior. Best experience! Extremely nice, professional, and knowledgeable owner. He was also super honest, which is sometimes hard to find, when it came down to whether my car needed work or not. Looked at my car right away at no charge, was thorough, and I didnt have to wait long at all. He even showed me my brake pads to explain I didnt need them replaced yet. The quote I was given if they had needed to be replaced was very affordable as well. 100% recommend going here. They are awesome!!!

I wanted to update this review since Ive since had more work done on my 2001 Outback. These guys were patient, and informative in dealing with a potential front bearing issue...upon diagnosis, they discovered the back brakes needed more attention, and the front bearings werent actually a problem (even though another shop wanted $1600 and said they needed replacing). So they did the back brakes and found that the rear bearing was failing and replaced it with no charge due to warranty on the product (original work done by them on the car) While doing the rear brakes, they found the rear axle to be broken, and turned the repair around in record time...again...Hands down the best experiences I’ve had at an auto repair shop...ever.

Nick helped me get in as soon as he could-I heard him talking on the phone with a customer saying he couldnt fit in his appt till next week, but he got my oil change in for the next day at the same time. I read other reviews on here that said Nick will tell you things that are wrong with your car without necessarily needing to, and he did, without me asking! Also, the oil change was way cheaper than Jiffy Lube, which I usually use. Highly recommend, and will be going here from now on for my car work!

Flat 4 has been the most reliable and efficient mechanic in the Olympia area hands down, he’s never had to turn me to anyone else and has always given me superb quality at affordable prices.

Before I went to Les Schwab because my exhaust fell and was scraping on the ground the dude told me they couldnt do anything to help. I was in such a struggle and Nick helped me out the best he could. He was so quick too. He understood I had no money at the time and still took time out of his day to fix it temporarily until I have the money to take it back to the shop. Best customer service too.

My car was overheating and leaking coolant like crazy. I knew it wouldn’t get to Centralia where I have to do my warranty work through. A friend told me about Flat 4 so I called Nick an hour before closing and he said he could look at it for me. I brought it in and he immediately knew that my reservoir was cracked. He called and had one delivered within ten minutes! Also told me I had other issues that would be covered by my warranty. So he basically got my car I’m running enough shape to get to another place for warranty work. I am a 30year old female that doesn’t know anything about cars and it would have been easy to take advantage of me which has happened before. I felt completely comfortable here. Nick is amazing, genuine, and honest. I will always take my vehicle to flat 4 from now on.

It was Friday afternoon when the Owl van broke down near Castle Rock, WA. Every mechanic shop in the countryside was about to close down for the weekend, and that doesnt work when youre a touring band with gigs to make. We had to get to Olympia, so we had the van towed to a shop I randomly found on the internet, a shop that would be open at 8am on Saturday morning. Bright and early the next day, i went in and met Nick, who was friendly, very helpful, and diagnosed the problem quickly. The whole ordeal was finished within a matter of hours, and for a very reasonable price. If I am in need of a mechanic in Olympia ever again, I will return to Flat 4, and I suggest you do the same!

I went in to flat 4 to get my fan belt adjusted he took a look and made the adjustments at no charge. While fixing the fan belt he noticed my brakes were worn down. They fixed my breaks for agreat price! Very friendly and great service.

When choosing a mechanic and auto shop, I look for these traits:- honesty- experience- skill- communication- integrity- valueNick (and Scott) at Flat 4 Automotive embody these qualities and it’s a breath of fresh air.During an oil change at a competitor, they offered to do a full inspection which I paid for. Afterwards, they provided me a list of maintenance items that they suggested I take care of. They were a chain of “tire stores” and I had concerns about their experience and pricing. I wanted a second opinion and quote. I emailed Nick at Flat 4 Automotive a list of items that duplicate what the other shop listed. Nick returned my email with an estimate on Sunday even though the shop’s posted hours said he was closed. He ordered all the parts and had me scheduled for the very next day (Monday). Nick explained everything they were going to do prior to showing me any paperwork and made sure I understood everything. They worked on my ‘97 Toyota Tacoma AWD and finished in only a few hours. I left with new belts, new brakes, new shocks and struts, and a new sway kit and bushings... the price remained as quoted and was well under what the other shop priced.I am happy to have found a shop that I can trust. Nick is real and tells it like it is. He set the expectations up front on what would be done, how long it would take, and what caveats might affect pricing. I am very satisfied with their service. Highly recommend.

I took my vehicle to Flat 4 for an oil change, and couldnt be happier with the service I received. The change was done quickly and professionally, and they also did a quick inspection of the vehicle (fluids, etc) and tires. Nick was informative regarding what maintenance would be needed when I come back (Ill be at the 90k mile service mark). I also want to mention a couple things that I think speak to their character. First, Nick thought that I may have left something behind in the lobby area, and called me to let me know. The mechanic also stared to bring it out to me as I hadnt left the parking lot yet. Turns out it wasnt mine, but I appreciate knowing that they care. Secondly, I noticed after I got home that they had reattached a piece of splash guard on the underside of my vehicle that had been loose. Nick and his team went above and beyond, and I will definitely be going back!
