After being told by 3 Ford Dealerships and 3 independents that even though I was traveling from the other side of the state there was no way I could be seen within the next 2-3 weeks. John from Troys told me to bring the truck right in and he would see to it ASAP. The AC was repaired w/in 3 hours and is blowing nice cold air. I cannot recommend John and his staff enough. Fast and very professional.

I used Troys Auto Service because it was less than a mile from my work and was convenient. I can tell you that after using them, I would go out of my way to choose them over and over again. They were honest and professional. When I ran over a piece of metal while driving to work and my car started making horrible sounds, they evaluated my car free of charge and had it back to me that same day. They didnt try to upsell me. Let me also be sure to mention that they have an A+ rating on BBB which is a big achievement and really speaks to their work.

Just bought a car that needed a little work done on it. Needed my top intake manifold off and there was two bolts on the back side near the firewall that i could not get. Took in to have them get the nuts off so i could do some simple maintenence on it. Took them 15 minutes to get them off and for a very reasonable price. I would recommend to anyone that needs any work done on there vehicle.Unlike most places there worried about your satisfaction than the money from what i have observed on several occasions.

I went here based on some enthusiastic references from a few of my friends. John got me on the schedule quickly and had a prompt diagnosis of what was wrong with my vehicle. I declined to get it repaired due to the cost compared with the age of the vehicle. I expected to pay for diagnosis, 30 minutes of shop time or so, but he didnt charge me because it was a simple, obvious diagnosis. Such a difference compared to other shops where Ive been squeezed for every dime! Thanks John!

I highly recommend, this is an honest shop and owner. Not only did John fix my Chrysler for a portion for what the dealership quoted but he fixed a hose in the process for free because he said it took a few minutes. This same hoseChrysler dealership said would take 2 hours labor to get to. I have had so many mechanics lie to me and take advantage of me due to being a woman who knows nothing about cars, so I am so grateful to find John an honest mechanic I can trust.

This crew seem competent, but weve had to make multiple visits with vehicles to actually have a repair completed satisfactorily. Final straw: at the last oil change, the drain plug was over-tightened, stripping the threads in the pan. After weeks of oil on the driveway, we had another mechanic take a look, and identify the issue. Cost us hundreds of $$ to rectify. We will not be back, and do not recommend this shop to anyone, unless you have limitless resources and dont really need your vehicle to function properly.

I have brought both my vehicles to J and H several times, I kept coming back because they seem to do good work and their prices are great, lower than anywhere else I have been. They wont raise the price on you if it ends up they had to do more than they estimated. They do seem to care about their customers and dont rip you off. The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is they are somewhat unorganized. They dont do appointments so your car can sit there for a couple days or a week before getting work done and they dont always call back when they say they will. If that doesnt bother you then I would recommend them, cant beat their prices.

My Car was fixed on time, for the price quoted and its now works perfectly. Dont let the looks of this shop fool you they are top notch!!!! They even came and picked me up when the car was done when my ride fell threw. What else can I say but GREAT JOB

I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. After taking my car in last Thursday, concerned there was a problem, John and his team spent 2 days test driving, and attempting to diagnose a problem. When everything checked out he still drove it and made sure it was safe for me and my family. When I asked him what I owed him he promptly told me he didn’t do any work, so I didn’t owe him. My pregnant friend called me in tears today. Never bring your vehicle to this auto shop. The owner, John Troy is a lying thief who took advantage of a 21 year old girl four years ago. She came to J and H looking to get her car fixed. He told her that her car was worthless and he would help her out. He asked her for the papers on the car so he could take it and use it for parts. After the transaction was completed he told her that his friend had a car for sale and he would get her a good price on it. The girl met up with this other man and bought the car. Everything seemed to be great until today... when she gets a Vehicle Impound Notice in the mail. The truth is that John had possession of this vehicle for over four years. He had the paperwork for the car and the ability to contact the FORMER owner if there was a problem getting the title transferred to his name. He never made an effort to do any such thing. He is a thief because the car was not worthless. He was able to scrap it for parts that were worth money. He is a liar because when this woman called to ask about what was going on he said that he called her and mailed her about the title many times. Her parents still live at the same address and she never once got a call or any mail from J and H about this vehicle. Now she is supposed to pay for a car to be impounded when John said that he would take care of it. She now owes hundreds of dollars on a car that she has not seen in four years. This man is a demon! Some please do something about this horrible, deceitful man!

J & H Auto is the best, with service that is top of the line, fair pricing, honest estimates, and I am always given options. I have two vehicles and I have been here several times. This is the first mechanic who was not intimidated by our high performance vehicle. The shop does just as well our nothing stock performance vehicle as with a total stock straightforward vehicle. I am always very happy leaving my car and picking it back up. Finally a mechanic we trust and who is honest with us.I am a known repeat customer and recently drove by with what I thought was a small concern. Turns out it was not, but they fit me in and made by time constraints work. They did their best work as always and got the car done by the end of business. Im more satisfied. Yes it sucks to be without your vehicle for a few hours, or a half a day but I much rather come here than another local shop because his estimates never change, the prices are much fairer than others and they remember the history of your vehicle.

I have been taking both our family cars to J&H for about 10 years (when it was called Buckys.) John is always honest, friendly, and helpful. He does a great job at very reasonable prices. He often tells me ways to have the car fixed for less cost. He goes out of his way to be helpful and work with us. The only down-side is that since they are so good, they are always busy, but they still manage to squeeze me in whenever I need a repair. I had bad experiences with other auto shops in town, but never with J&H. Highly recommended.

What can I say... They do care about your vehicle and will tell you everything that is wrong with it. Unlike other shops that just fix what you thought was wrong and then expect to see you next week because something else was broken that they knew about. So kudos to these guys. Only problem I have is it seemed a bit expensive for my tune up. But they were very respectful, honest, and do great work.

I have been taking all of my vehicles to J&H for the last 6 or 7 years and keep going back because they provide friendly professional service at a reasonable price. In my my experience, what J&H offers is very hard to find now days -- they provide honest and sound advice, they know what they are doing, and generally get the work done in a reasonable amout of time. I have taken vehicles in a couple of times for trouble shooting and, when they couldnt find the problem, they didnt charge me anything. I have consulted with them on problems and, with the advice I received, been able to resolve the problem myself. I have take vehicles in for inspection prior to purchase and they have done that at no charge.

You guys are awesome- you go above & beyond every time! I normally dont take the time to write reviews, but J&H Auto is so amazing. Before moving out of state I was a single gal living in Olympia, with no one to go to for auto advice. After finding these guys with a Google search, I have used them for every oil change, check-engine light, and repair. When I needed to sell my car John helped with with everything- walking me through the steps of how to sell a car, talking to potential buyers, filing the bill of sale with the DMV. He makes you feel like a part of the family! Thanks guys! Now if only I could find a mechanic so trustworthy in Alaska...

They treated me with respect, and explain everything that can/needs to be done so that you as the owner can make an informed decision. The next time I took my truck in for repair (different problem) John called me to let me know theyd found yet another issue I didnt even know about! They even fixed it the same day. Dont go to j and h! They kept my truck for nearly a month. Dragging me around not calling be back, not telling me what is wrong. Telling me we are just looking at it now and we will call you back they never called back. And then ended up charging for doing NOTHING. they said they dont like to work on carborators.... well why didnt you say that in the begging! I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

John and his staff are the very best. Its hard to find an honest repair shop, but not in this case. Took my Audi there to get a new transmission, he ordered the tranny right away and had it put in pronto. Unfortunately, my husband had to have multiple surgeries that put out finances in limbo. John let me make payments on the car without charging me any storage fees. Any man who knows that sometimes things get hard and doesnt take advantage is rare in the world of car repair. I will never, ever take my car anywhere else, and I will point all, and any business his way. Thank you John!!

I ran into a seemingly simple repair I couldnt take care of myself. I called J&H and they said they could get me in right away and take care of things immediately. I have to admit I was worried they wouldnt be able to follow through when I got there--they were busy. But I was in and out of there in an hour (or less) and their price for labor was more than fair. Ill definitely be back.And a few months later: After a tune-up and the repair of faltering axel, we were able to take our two-week road trip without any issues in our mini van. Over fifteen hundred miles on the road and the van couldnt have run more smoothly.

Extremely unprofessional. Said they would call before performing repair and this wasnt done. We had to call to check on the vehicles status to find out repair had been made. At the time of payment, no explanation was made regarding extent of repair. Best part of the experience was their price which was fair but not enough to earn a repeat customer.

I bought a voucher from Amazon Local for an oil change and vehicle inspection. The voucher clearly said appointments are required so I naturally assumed I would be able to make an appointment. When I called to schedule the appointment I was told they did not make appointments, but to come on in and they could squeeze me in. When I showed up later that day around noon I was told it would be about a 2 hour wait. I didnt have 2 hours and just wasted 1/2 hour getting there. What kind of professional repair shop cannot schedule or estimate well enough that they cant schedule appointments? Do they expect you to just show up and take your chances on whether or not you can get in or not? Luckily Amazon Local agreed with me and gave me a refund.

I took my Toyota in for an oil leak. John called me and said he had to replace my valve cover gasket. He charged me $153 for the gasket change and an oil change. I checked out my car the next day, and it was still leaking oil really bad, from the same place! It wasnt the valve cover gasket like they said, and my oil change is being wasted all over my driveway right now. I called him to get a credit at least for the oil change, but he said no and just bring it back in. I told him Im not going to waste any more money on services that dont do anything to fix my car and that Id never bring my car back there. How could he not have seen the oil still leaking? Super obvious. Lazy mechanics. Total a-hole on the phone and rude as hell. $153 down the drain and I have to bring the car somewhere else to get it fixed now. Dont trust these guys. Oh yeah, and they broke a clip on the wiring harness when taking off the valve cover. No replacement.

Having to give one star pains me. It is far, far too generous.More than a month without my car. A month of we cant figure out what the problem is, weve ordered a part, its still not working right, we think were done. You can pick it up after hours (except its locked up in the back), Weve fixed it but theres still a ticking noise. FInally, after three weeks, John agreed to lend us his minivan. After several days, still waiting, the check engine light came on and a few miles later the engine started smoking. They towed the vehicle. Today I was greeted with massive berating from John for blowing up his van, telling me my wife is a F***ing B***h pissing and whining, followed by a long string of F words. He then told me I could pick the car up and he wouldnt charge me. I went to pick it up tonight. It showed the exact same symptoms (shuddering and struggling for the first two minutes and a check-engine light that came back on after 30 seconds) that it went in for in the first place. I have doubts they actually did anything during that month. If they did, they are even more incompetent than I take them for. I would not let them touch a tricycle, let alone my car.

I have been taking my car to J&H for several months for oil changes and major repairs, because their service is prompt, reliable, and economical.

I had them work on my car twice. The first time they decided to do repairs without consulting me for authorization when I specifically asked them to call me before doing the repairs. The second time they held my car for 4 days and didnt work on it--no one called me, and every time I reached out to them I could never get a straight answer about the status of my vehicle. I was told they could look at it the day I dropped it off, but after 4 days nothing had been taken care of. When i called on Day 1, they said they needed more time to diagnose the problem. When I called at the end of day 2, they said the mechanic was sick that day (but no one gave me a courtesy call to inform me--and how do you only have 1 mechanic on staff?). On Day 3 I was told they couldnt answer my questions because the lobby is full so we cant talk right now, and so on day 4, asked for the keys, and took it to a different mechanic. Perhaps their work might be acceptable, but the way they treat their customers was not. I will not be returning or referring anyone to their business.
