I may have gone on a bad day, but, I will never set foot in there again. All rotting food, bad smell, and extremely dirty. The system is great IF you can find enough to fill their baskets. I found 5 things that I could possibly buy but their price didnt justify me filling a box so I put them back and left. No, thank you. It gave me a whole new respect for Walmart
We were thoroughly impressed with the selection of fresh produce available through the fill-a-basket deal. We filled a medium ($25) basket and estimated that it contained over $100 of groceries. I’d say 90% of the produce is as fresh as you’d expect it to be in a standard grocery store, so minimal sifting was required. There were plenty of organic options as well. We didn’t venture much into the pantry or meat items, but the produce deals were unbelievable. This is a great option for low-cost fruits and veggies.Update: We’ve now visited three times and had a great experience every time. Staff is very helpful. We’ve tried some of the frozen meats and fish and they’ve all been great. Don’t be afraid of the dates on the frozen meats— it was frozen before that date. You’ll be fine. For those who are worried about expiration dates on pantry items, this is a salvage grocery store. This is how they function. A big box store won’t sell these items, so salvage stores can sell them to you at a massive discount. Many pantry items will remain in quality condition for YEARS. If you’re only willing to eat food that expires in 2035, then skip this store. But if you are willing to do a little bit of inspecting and treasure hunting, you can save some very serious cash here.Photos below are of what I fit into the $25 basket on each of my trips.
Seems like a newly opened grocery store. Staffs are very polite & professional. Am excited to see more of what this store has to offer in the community & the shoppers in general.
Super cheap store needs cleaned. Flowers were super cheap
Some of the things are great deals, but It turns my stomach to go in there, because theres so much rotten food. There are salads that are over a month old. They are actually brown & drippy. You have to look at every expiration date of every single thing you buy, because theres so much expired perishable food. I only buy the meat if its frozen solid. Im not sure Id trust it otherwise. On the other hand, if you have time to investigate everything you put in your basket, you can get some great deals that are not expired.
I went here with an open mind, just to check it out. I get the idea of what is happening in there, however, there was water on the floor in the bakery area, dirty shelves, dim lights. If they would clean it up & condense it to a smaller square footage, it would do better & I would go back. But not as it is now. It was slightly scary.
Dates for exploration are a couple of days past maybe even a month but food is still good cheap prices good food good atmosphere
Hamburger meat was only $2.50 a lb. It was over a month past sell by date and not frozen. Misc chicken in a bag was a few weeks over expiration and green. Butter etc was expired and about a dollar more a pound than other markets. No thanks.
This place has this deal where they have a 15$ 25$ & 60$ carts and you can fill them up with produce it cost I love the savings its not the cleanest grocery so dont go if your a clean freak but other than that it is the best for savings
A year later and I’ve had to change my review from a 4 star to a 2. While you can still get some good deals here you MUST be very picky about what you get. Today I saw there are definitely some food handling issues that need addressed. I found raw chicken out of its packaging and a good number of their open air refrigerators had temperatures well above the acceptable range. There was also a good amount of lunch meat in the refrigerator section that is 2 months past expiration, while I’m fine eating lunch meat that was frozen before it expired, 2 months past due and still only being refrigerated is gross.
If you know understand the discount structure they use, this place is great. I wont burden you with how the store operates, but their employees are ready to jump to help any new customers out. As far as produce goes, if youre eating a plant based diet, it is definitely worth stopping here for groceries, but only if youre planning to eat this stuff within a couple days. I personally love the concept, but someone with less time, may find it works better to go to a conventional store.
Went there today and some of their stuff was past the expiration date. The fruits and vegetables had flies alive and dead over and around them. But so stuff is reasonable priced, a 5lb bag of rice cost $1.00.
Love the price for the baskets. As a single mom this is really awesome. People are super friendly.
Hit or miss. Great price. I get the 60.00 basket. ❤
The staff that work here are always friendly and helpful. Im so happy they still have the Fill your Basket promotion for any and everyone! The store looks fabulous as well!!!
I love what they are doing!! This is real folks! You choose what you want from what they have to choose from!
I like this place if you get the right tag color whatever you put in the box you can get for 25dollers or if you dont the other food stuff is still ha)for off so wev had couple of nice hames for like 15dollars really good deal
Will never go back. Most shelves were totally empty. Most of the food was out of date
There was no meat. I was a little disappointed. The young lady working said they get meat on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays. We will check the store out on those days..
This quirky but fun grocery store is great for many, but may not be for everyone. It is a salvage grocery store that sells items that need to be consumed quickly. Some products items may have mold or other issues, but if you are tolerant of imperfections you can save a lot of money particularly on fresh produce. They sometimes even give some items away for free. If you have a large family, this store can be a godsend. Some deals are so good you might want to buy some extra for a friend. They have a Fill the Basket special where you can fill a large basket for $20 or a cart for $65 with certain limits. They also have lots of organic produce of that is important to you.I think this store is much better than a food pantry for those who struggle, because it preserves dignity. A person struggling financially is on the same level as a wealthy customer who just loves a bargain. You never know what they are going to have out for sale here, so if you are big into shopping off a list, this place will not have everything you are looking for.If you are tolerant of imperfections in agrocery store, this place may be for you. If not then I wouldnt recommend shopping here.
Great prices, friendly service. All around awesome experience. Definitely should check it out.
We visited the store on Sunday and were greeted by a wonderful employee who explained everything to us. Ask the employees any questions while you are there and they are happy to answer. We looked over vegetables that were in the not so great area and got some potatoes. We only thru away 1 out of a small bag once home. We also looked over some very beautiful fresh vegetables and got 2 huge containers of cherry tomatoes for my 4 boys. They taste wonderful!!!They had a tone of frozen chicken back dated from Wal-Mart that I was very questionable about. I saw a color change of yellow on the skin of the chicken so felt unsafe. I guess if I dug enough maybe a more recent date would show up to look over. They had frozen tilapia and salmon fish. The date was in the future. We look forward to cooking the tilapia fish. The dairy section was not a place we would shop. The syrup was from Walmart and cheaper than in actual store. We were told that hamburger meat shows up toward end of week on trucks and sells FAST. I would assume so as I bet you either cook or freeze immediately for a future use.We were able to get a $60 cart ful of lots of fresh vegetables, older vegetables (cheaper), ice cream (normally cant), butter sticks, & a few other items. Then we paid for syrup and something else as it was not marked for cart pricing. We came out under $70. If we had bought this at Walmart we would have paid over $100.Will we shop here again....YES! Now it is not our staple store or our every week store. We will likely go 1-2x a month. Our hope is to make it to hamburger meat time and see if it is a good deal or not. While at the register I was told to go pick a FREE flower arrangement. They were roses and it made my ending very nice.
First time there, liked it alot, they were very helpfull, i will be returning.
This place is a lifesaver. I havent worked in over 165 days bc of the pandemic, and I wish I had known about it before now. I cant believe we have such an incredibly low priced market here in OKC! The basket deals they offer cannot be beat (small handbasket for $15, crate for $25, shopping cart for $60). I was able to fit so much food in my little basket! Most of what is offered for the deals is produce, but I also got a dozen eggs & saw some meat items that qualified as well. The staff is so courteous & helpful which is a bonus. I also got a free pineapple (they were giving them away bc they were overripe) because the lady ringing me up made sure I didnt miss them. Ill likely be doing the bulk of my shopping here from now on, especially because theyre helping to close the food waste gap. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE!!!
This store is amazing. The employees are the friendliest of any grocery store Ive even been to. The store itself isnt perfect, some of the refrigerator cabinets werent very cold so I was picky about what I bought. They have some things you can buy individually and other things you can buy as part of their one price basket promotion. This was my first trip but I will go back. Very happy this store was recommended to me.
Very unique shopping experience. I would look at their Facebook page to understand more about how they operate before you shop here. The only complaint I have is that I wish the promotional signs were more uniform. Sometimes the limit number is in a different spot on some, so it can be confusing.
Its ok sometimes..other times is good
This place smells like old mildew product spoiled....
I got $25 dollar basket. I shopped for meat.. We also included 50% off items in our cart seperate from our $25 basket The total came to $46 .Our freezer is full. One employee stood out to me her name is Sylvia. She answered our questions and price checked anything we needed her to do. An outstanding employee. All the employees will help you figure out shopping there. I always just find Sylvia. This store has helped my family afford groceries on a fixed income.Yes they take EBT credit cardsand of course cash.
Its a great place to shop and save tons of money. Our basket was half full of meat, well over $65 worth and we were still able to add frozen veggies, frozen pizzas and lots of fresh produce. The availability of products varies, but we have almost always gotten plenty. $15 baskets, $25 dollar baskets or a cart full for $65.
You have to shop early to get the freshest produce. But I love this place to stock up on fresh produce for my smoothie bags.
The ppl who work here are just amazingly helpful and friendly. Its a different way of shopping and the staff is more than willing to explain things and answer any questions. I had a flat tire when I took my groceries to my car and they even helped me by putting the donut on for me! Thats what I call A+ customer service! This is a great store to shop at. The prices are so great. Ill be back a lot!
Really glad I heard about this place. I got a ton of food for less than $30. Someone greeted me at the door and explained the promo with the baskets. I was offered assistance several times as I shopped without prompting. Some of the items are iffy or definitely bad, but if you check carefully you can get really good stuff. I only looked at produce, so I dont know the quality of the meat.
This place can make your dollar stretch when needed. That is if your willing to put a little work into prepping and freezing things so they dont go bad. I couldnt afford to feed us like I do if it wasnt for this place. Just watch/look be aware of the food not the packaging!!
In a strapped for cash position..... u can get alot for a little.
Amazing prices if youre on a budget for fresh produce
I shopped here earlier in the month. I hated I had already shopped at WinCo and Walmart a few days before, because all the money I spent at those two stores was almost triple the $60 basket I got here. If I had followed my first mind, I would have been more than $100 richer.I did not make it pass the vegetable isle, my basket was totally full with meat, salads, fruits, and just asparagus because my back hurt so bad I could hardly make it back to the counter to check out.The only thing that could make the experience topnotch is drivable carts for handicapped patrons. I try to shop the store at least once a month. Thank you for your prices and your staff who are ALWAYS helpful, from pricing and assisting with putting my groceries in my vehicle. God bless you in your endeavors of helping others.
We always find great deals here on produce and meat. Most of the produce is close to the end of its life but if you carefully check what you get, you can find some really good stuff crazy cheap. They usually have a good selection of organic too.
Joey, I know that your heart is in the right place but yall got to do something about that smell. I walked in for the first time ever today & only made it about 5ft in before the smell became too much & I had to leave. You should really consider getting the truck out again for distribution.
If you are vegan or vegetarian and havent heard or been to this place, you need to go go go! One price for all the produce or food you want depending on which size basket you choose! I am so happy I found this place, saves me money. The staff is friendly, if you dont understand the concept when you get there just ask.I will say try to catch it on the days their trucks come in, youll have a better selection to choose from.
The employees are so friendly and helpful with each customer they encounter. ounter...it reminded me of the good ole days, where jjj would say hi, a explain their wonderful deal of filling a hand-held red basket for 15.00, a slightly larger, black crate, which is $25.00 and is still large of the red handheld baskets...approximately 1.75% larger and finally theres the third option, which is filling a BASKET FULL. This is actually the best deal to partake of, due to it being 3x larger than the other two options, and for only $65. Thank you for opening your supermarket in this community. Customers will see these employees demonstrating customer appreciation and even as far as experiencing genuine kindness! 🤗 Now, in my book, that is the key in building a long lasting relationship with those who will become appreciative and loyal customers. Ofelia, you and the first lady who greeted me as I entered your store are examples of kindness. Thanks for your help.
This is Tiffany Ann Kaulaity pch.com i want pch to know i did not put my pch account with them i will not lie when i say timothy aaron bordayo tried and tried to get my inheritance and leave me with nothing because he didnt know i had 7 billion
Im sorry youre better getting your groceries at Walmart or crest.this place when you walked in the entire store smelled like mold and the dont clean anything.the meat is almost all expired and it also looks scary. They only thing we bought was fruit that wasnt split open and some smores cupcakes. Do me and your self a favor dont go to disgusting grocery store.its also in sketchy part of town. NO
So the store is very cold, so wear a heavy jacket. We are a family of six and we purchased almost a full month of groceries for $130. Now thats not things like milk, and bread. For sure worth the trip to check it out.
The 60 dollar basket is a awesome deal.
Not a whole lot of things and fresh veggies did not look good I only bought sugar and bananas not what I thought it would be
Great place low priced food
Absolutely love this place and recommend it all the time
It has good choice and for the price you can feed your family for a week on 60.00. Saves us money and their nice people working there.
Cheap little grocery store with a deal for baskets or cart full of food from selected items for $15, $25, or $60 plus any items not for the selected deal. Mostly produce that didnt sell at big stores goes towards the deal. They sell meat, milk, eggs, ice cream, chips, and lots of other items. Staff are very helpful and friendly. A lot of products are near or just past expiration. Good place to go when small budget for groceries.
The items that are shown on their Facebook page do not match once you are in the store. The store also has a very foul smell that is noticeable before you enter the building. Fruits and vegetables have mold on them and look beat up. Household items dont all have prices or tags. Those that do cost more than where the items come from(Walmart). I can get a better deal at Walmart and Sams than this store. Not worth the hassle at this store.
Finally went to Public Wholesale and Food Market on 16th & Drexel after recds from friends and wasnt disappointed. They have a unique pricing model of filling up your basket for one price rather than ringing items up separately. Its mostly produce that fits in this category. $15 for a normal handheld basket, $25 for a crate container, and $60 for a normal shopping basket. My $15 basket would have cost $36 from Sprouts and half of the produce was organic. All good quality too
It is pretty good place to buy food when your on a budget. Yes you can get a basket and fill it with items for $70. Maily fruits and vegetables, some other kinds of food. Somethings have a limit to how many you can get, others do not. Not always best quality, but if you know how to cook, then you should do just fine.
If you are pressed for cash but want to feed yourself and your family healthy options I strongly suggest checking this place out. Ill be the first to admit the place has a funky smell and looks kinda shady but I dont know any other store that I can buy stuff to make salads and smoothies for a week and still have stuff left over for $15. Literally you get to fill up a hand basket for $15
It has good buys on fresh produce and the baskets make it affordable for people on a budget.
I was able too get a basket full of food for $60. When at Walmart it would of been the equivalent to about $180 to $200 dollars. This place is highly recommended
Most of the produce that I looked at was moldy and nasty!
Great resource for low income. Great value on perishables close to expiration .
Great people help this out several times no questions asked
This place is awesome like a indoor farmers market. You can get a carry basket full to the brim for $15 + tax or a push basket full to the brim for $60+ tax 😁 definitely worth the stop!
Its a whole building filled with almost expired food. Some are still good by tye end of the month, its cheap but be careful choosing your items
Helps the local people with very inexpensive access to healthy foods
Its hit and miss at this place, shelves were empty.
They had a great selection of vegetables had to buy them by the case meat was so so not a bad experience.
Its was nice the lady Silva was super helpful need for people like her around
Some food looks freezer burn, expired, store looks dirty.
Wemwent a few days ago. And all the meat was spoiled. A friend purchased a bunch of chicken all to realize it was all spoiled. All strawberries were bad. I dont think we will be back.
It was a great shopping experience. 60 bucks for awhile cart full of food
What a great store. Good prices
Best place for low cost food shopping!
They have the greatest sales that help families on their food budgets
I wish this was a thing when my kids were young. I love that this is a affordable way for people to have fruits and vegetables!
My wife and I drive up to shop here.
Love it just be prepared to spend a fair amount of time getting everything you want to fit into the basket. I will be going back soon.
Its kind of a strange place, but the people have been really nice and helpful and the way they sell their product is great. They had great vegetables and fruit.
Very unorganized... Did buy a case of nacho cheese sauce but when i opened the case i found that it was expired... Will not go back...
They are great for vegetables that are close to out of date. Its 60 dollars for a grocery cart full of various items.
The place is the cheapest place where you can buy produce. And employees are super nice. I will definitely recommend it to who ever I know. I like it
They are still in the process of filling their shelves, but we were warmly welcomed & a pleasant place to shop.
Should you seek value priced produce, discount frozen meat including sockeye salmon, ahi tuna steaks, turkey breast, and more, you will want to visit. Grocery carts filled for a flat rate for $60.00, smaller quantities for a flat rate of $25.00, frozen meat at 1/2 marked price, Irish cheese at 1/2 price and unimaginable quantities of produce at drastically reduced prices. And all products are of good quality. To many items to mention. Quality fresh Blueberries are abundant at $1.00 a pint!!!
Great prices on produce, meats, dairy and frozen foods . Id suggest staying away from center of the store .
The fill a cart ($60), crate ($25), or handbasket ($15) with produce deal is amazing! We used the crate option, filled it so it was even with the top, and ended up with about $120 worth of produce. You do have to be careful and thoroughly check the produce as some of it is borderline ready to go bad, but there are plenty of options. Some items have a limit while others dont, but the staff is very helpful and willing to find quantity limits for you. Will DEFINITELY be going back!
We donate food to this store.
Mostly produce, but hell of a bargain and the staff was super friendly
Super great !😊👍 awesome 😀👍
If you have a family its a good deal. You can buy a shopping cart of special stuff for $60.
The best place to get groceries I have meat for a month or two
This is an amazing place to shop. They have shopper programs that allow people to get more food for their money. I am highly impressed with what they have going on!!
I really liked this place. They are trying to help the neighbors. I will definetly go back.
Fill your basket for $25 or $60. Great deals when your making ends meet
Fresh fruits and veggies
Its a dive from Norman but so worth it. Give yourself time to look around. Got lots of veggies and meat at super low price. What you spend you get points that you can spend in the store. You get free food how can you beat that. All the ladies in there are super nice.
It was okay I didnt have the time to really shop, was being rushed
Cheap, Great Service, Great Variety of Food, Great People! I definitely will continue to shop here! I spent $30 my last visit filled up a crate! If I would have gone to Winco, Crest, etc it would have been over $100!
It was clean and helpful.
You never know what youll find but great deals abound!
Great prices good meats clean store
Love this place
