Stopped by 9 weeks ago cause my back and hips were hurting in the process of training for a 1/2 marathon. they put me on the machine and sold me a pair of shoes, ran the marathon today and did great had to be the shoes ; )

I really want to emphasize how pumped I am about my experience at the Ogden Striders location tonight. I am truly impressed by two individuals - Darren and Ethan- who helped me to the highest level tonight and pulled out all the stops- no joke- no short cuts- ALL THIS AS THE STORE WAS ABOUT TO CLOSE. I am writing this in hopes someone looking to buy a pair of running shoes who is doing research comes across this review...You’ve found it- this is the place!!! It all comes down to personal touch, honest opinions, transparency and how super knowledgeable these guys are. Not to mention the level of service I was shown. I am proud this store is in Ogden for real. They gave me an EXPERIENCE tonight and took my unique custom needs into consideration without hesitation. I feel so confident in recommending this particular store and these two professionals it’s ridiculous! I walked out wearing my new Saucony Triumph’s feeling taken care of and that alone is worth it’s weight in gold. I will be recommending this store to all my friends and loved ones and as long as people like Ethan and Darren are running this place - this is a freaking gem 💎 in Ogden, Utah! Horrible service. The sales lady said I could return them if I was not satisfied. I did not like shoe after a couple day so I went to return it and she said she couldn’t take it back! Not happy. They were $139

Went in today to buy my wife some shoes, and the staff was very unfriendly. There was no one else in the store and it seemed like they all wanted to avoid helping us. The individual who did help was bothered by some questions we had asked. We decided to leave. It’s very disappointing that this store isn’t the vibrant welcoming store it used to be.

Ethan was super helpful and insightful. He set me up with some great shoes, and accessories. I would definitely recommend Striders as the go to place for running shoes.

Great experience coming in here, even if you know nothing about running but you need a good pair of shoes. I came in looking for altra that was recommended to me, tried on a few pairs. One of the associates started asking me questions about what I needed, what I was looking for, and she really wanted to help.After her amazing advice, fittings, and bribing me out tons of options to try on. I ended up getting something that wasn’t even on my radar but I LOVE SO MUCH MORE than what I came for. Really amazing experience and very helpful staff. Will be coming back for sure

Love this store. They are very helpful getting you a pair or in my case many pairs of shoes that will carry you for miles. This store is smaller and cozier then the Layton Striders but often they have different inventory between the 2 stores, especially if your looking at clearance shoes.

I love to support local businesses right now. If a business does not share that same support of a costumers right to air, then I will go support a business who does.

Great place to buy your next running shoes. They first have you stand and walk across a pressure pad to see where you put your weight on your feet. Then talk about what kind of shoes you should use. Then they will bring out all kinds of running shoes that are the best type for you. Then you can put each pair on and run on a treadmill to find the one you like the best. Great customer service. Love the store and have been going there for more than 10 years.

Outstanding service. Knew nothing of fitting a pair of shoes properly. It was a little expensive between shoes and inserts, but the fact there was no discomfort in the feet while running makes it worth it.

I just had the worst experience. They don’t have the size you need. They don’t take cash but Dont tell you until it’s time to pay! They have a little sign on the door that you can’t even read. They need to have one on the counter when everyone can see it! The girl was trying to help multiple people at the same time and would forget. Horrible experience

Bought some new running shoes, the employee that helped us was knowledgeable and friendly.

I was new to running last spring when I first visited this store. I had a great, no pressure experience. I probably spent an hour. Foot measurements, talking about different types of shoes, and trying on probably 8 pairs and running in each on the treadmill. The sales woman (I wish I knew her name) knew what she was talking about because she was a distance runner but she didnt try to impress me or embarrass me because I knew nothing. Very helpful. I ended up with a great pair of shoes that work for me... not just what she wanted to sell that day.

Excellent customer service. I was in and out with a very solid pair of shoes at an amazing price. The sales clerk gave me several options to choose from and she was very helpful rounding up my kids while I tried the shoes on. She found me a pair of neutral support shoes of very high quality for about half of what I expected to pay. I was very satisfied and will continue shopping here for more running shoes to come.

I have run around 30 marathons most under 3 hours and at least that many Ultras. I have been buying shoes here for about 10 years. I have always been able to find a good selection of shoes namely Hoka and Ultras. The sales staff has been especially good the last few years and very knowledgeable about their products. I have also liked their rewards program which has saved me money from buying online.

Its a great place to go for great footwear. They help you figure out the shoe that will fit best for you, even testing your stride so you get the right one. It makes a huge difference. They always have great customer service and good prices too.

I generally buy my shoes online, but decided to try out the local brick and mortar in hopes of more meaningful service. The purchase experience was good. Two hundred miles later (just under half of the expected longevity of the shoe) the upper is has a 3 inch tear where it meets the sole on the inside of the right shoe. Certainly not Striders fault, but I was thinking I was glad I purchased from a local store that could help.I visited the store and showed them the shoes and explained my situation. The sales rep and manager both said because it had been more than 30 days they could do nothing for me. Ultimately they referred me to the manufacturer to fend for myself. I couldnt believe it. Could they not at least help me work with the manufacturer through their reps? Why would I ever go to a local store when I can buy online and get the same service?I run a service business with hundreds of employees and would be disgusted if any customer had this kind of experience with my company. I will never buy at Striders again.

Striders is great! Friendly service and a great fitting process. Im a physical therapist and I recommend going here to find your fit. I just bought a pair and they helped me try on every pair I wanted until I got things right.

I hit 4 shoe/gear stores this morning, looking for very specific types of shoes and fits. The team in Striders were the only people that handled my needs energetically & intelligently, even knowing I was only in their shop to try shoes on and not purchase any today. One of the reps, understanding what I was in need of, brought out a shoe that was not even on my list to try and it was such a winner, it made it to the top of my list. Ill use other stores to try different shoes on, but Ill use Striders when Im ready to buy/order them. Thanks gals, for the smart service today.

Great local store. Every single person in the store is very knowledgeable and very helpful. You dont see this kind of customer support very often anymore. I think this is the advantage that retail shops have over online stores. However, most retail shops do not have the level of expertise that Striders in Ogden has. We will be coming here for many more purchases in the future.

Great service and great selection of shoes. If you have never had your feet mapped then youre probably buying the wrong shoes.My back and knees no longer hurt because they put me in the shoe that best supports my feet.

They work with local schools to make running sports more affordable for students and their families. Be sure to ask your school coaches when their sponsored day is, because there is usually only one time per school that discounts are offered. Dont miss that time because its totally worth it, the prices are the best anywhere if you make it during that time. Even the normal prices are surprisingly competitive.

I always get my running and exercise shoes here because the employees know what they are talking about and will find the best shoes for You! They are also affordable without sacrificing the quality of their selection.

I’ve been a long time customer of Striders for several years. I’ve purchased all of my running shoes and gear from them, (2-3 shoes per year). I originally posted a bad review of Striders due to a return policy issue and left very unhappy. The manager Jamie called me back right away after looking up my account and took care of me.Thank you Jamie and the other young lady in the store who helped me today. I’m on my way to running happy again with my Brook’s.

Worst customer service. Sales reps don’t know well enough about the shoes they’re selling. Sold me a pair of shoes that they said worked for long distance running when In reality were for interval workouts. When I tried to get a refund, they wouldn’t give it to me. Even though the receipt says you can get a full refund. One sales rep even gave me attitude. Never going back.

Shoe selection is limited compared to Layton location. Additionally, they do not carry the orthotic inserts the podiatrist recommends I wear. They carry the brand just not the style for planter fasciatis with a bone spur in my heel.
