Went in for an oil and brake check. They failed to mention additional charges when they were confirming additional work. Not a big deal at first but still annoying. Then they quoted me for brake work saying it was urgent and needed to be fixed as soon as possible and quoted me for shocks saying those were also urgent. Got a second and third opinion and the brakes are still at half not 2mm like they said. The shocks are also good. Now I’m questioning the air filter and light that they said needed replacing that I did let them do. I feel ripped off. Won’t be coming back for car work here.

The employees here are incredibly kind and helpful. They have done two pre-purchase inspections for me, and are dealing with a third party warranty company that is requiring photos, work ups, and a ton of extra time and work and they have done it with no complaints and have been very helpful and patient. I am referring everyone I know to them for any service!

Had them replace rear main seal. It is still leaking. Wouldnt warranty $2700 in repairs. Now my vehicle is still broken and non operational.

I have gotten my oil changed here regularly with no issue. However, recently I had them change my transmission fluid, check my brakes, and rotate my tires (which they did not charge me for) and found a problem. One of the bolts that holds my front brake caliper on, worked its way out. I cannot say definitively that hilltop is responsible for it since they say that they didnt touch that bolt. My issue is that when I called them to ask about what could be done to make it right, they were less than helpful. I feel like they could have at least bought me a new bolt.

Went in last minute to fix an exhaust leak after I had put in a new exhaust and they fixed it quickly. I also go to them for my other routine maintenance and have never left dissatisfied. Best shop on the island and they don’t try to rip you off.

Great customer service, very nice people, but finding my oil filter cap tightened way to tight to say the least. Oil drain line was also excessively tightened.

Heres the situation---About a week ago my X5 started leaking coolant while we were on the road. Naturally, we looked for the closest auto shop because the engine was smoking and we couldnt drive it any further. The shop was busy when we got there but immediately got approached by one of they mechs which was so nice because I wanted it fixed right away.They did a pressure test, paid for the service, and we waited for about an hour (wasnt bad). Got our estimate for everything and it was $992. They said RADIATOR is leaking. I was going to leave it there so they can have it fixed before next week comes but my husband decided to check it out himself, and maybe change it himself. SO I bought the radiator online right away.Turns out, our RADIATOR IS FINE, and just like what my husband thought, only the hose was broken. 🙂 Got fixed in the matter of days, and we spent $100+ for the coolant etc.. GOOD JOB GUYS. Now Im spending $120 for shipping--for something I did not really need in the first place.

I had my RAM 1500 serviced and a complete brake job at Hilltop today and was very impressed with their service, professionalism and their pricing. I went in for brakes as they were quite a bit less than Schwab. While there I decided to get the full synthetic oil change for less than Jiffy. I also asked them to look into an electrical problem while they had it and they diagnosed my issue for free.I also had my gas tank filled for .60 Cents less than the going rate.I was very impressed and will not only be using them in the future but will be recommending them to all my friends.

New to the area and needed an oil change and had both of my young children with me. Free popcorn was available (which is awesome!) in the waiting area, along with coffee, lollipops, a TV (the wonderful cashier changed it to Disney Channel without my asking), and a bunch of toys. Overall, the experience was short lived (5 minutes, in and out for the oil change) but the customer service was absolutely amazing, staff was so curtious, and the price for my Jeep (synthetic) was only $54! Absolutely recommend!

Tire repairs are a rip off. First was told it was 10 dollars for repair. Then it was 20 and on top of that the repair was a plug! You can buy a plug kit from autozone for 8 dollars and repair four more tires. Would not care that they changed the price if it was a patch but that is way over priced for a plug.

Best price I could find In town for an oil change (even cheaper than Walmart). Jiffy Lube wanted nearly 50% more for the exact same service.....My wife took her vehicle here and was in and out in 20 minutes. She said the service was excellent. Will be taking my truck here in the future.

We went to get our rear diff oil changed. They were very nice, helpful when we asked a question and the place was clean. It was a little spendy, but I havent had a problem with their work. I feel like it was worth it.

This shop is the best in town! The staff is friendly and very honest with you. They wont try to sell you excess items, services, etc if its not needed. I highly recommend this place to anyone that has budgetary constraints and likes being told exactly how it is.

I always get my oil change here. I get the Star package which runs me $40+ they have a tv, free soda and popcorn in their waiting room. Theyre always friendly. Here is why i go here...if you get a service here, ask at the counter about the gas discount. I usually go with an empty tank. Right now, they take 30 cents off each gallon. Thats the cheapest in town. Also, the other oil change place have really come up in their prices so i stay and get the bonus. Oh and they vacuum the front floors.

Took my Pontiac G6 in for Air Conditioner service. $79.95 for service + Freon and air still blows hot. Spoke with office and was told they could do AC diagnosis for $79.95 which I agreed on. End of the day I call and the technician has no idea and was unable to diagnose the issue, was told to take it to the Chrysler dealership to get the issue resolved. $200 with no resolution.Luckily summer is short here.Office people are nice.

These people are very quick. The service is excellent and they always err on the side of safety. Who can argue with free popcorn and soda. Hilltop reminds me of when I was a child at my dads shop.

Fast and friendly! Went in for an oil change and opted for the star service. While I was there, the mechanic asked me to come out to the garage to take a look at a few things on my 97 Saturn. In addition to showing me the filthy air filter and recommending a replacement which I got, he also pointed out some issues with the car that needed my attention including a recommendation to flush the coolant, power steering and transmission.Although I didnt get any of those flush n fill services, I mention them because while they recommended them, there was absolutely no pressure involved and thats something I can truly appreciate. I simply got the oil change and air filter and was on my way rather quickly without a hassle.Will definitely be going back to get both mine and my wifes cars serviced in the future.

Oil change usually completed in 15 -20 minutes. Very friendly.

Came in for simple alignment. Had to wait 3 hours for a 1 hour job. Car was damaged during maintenance. The shop manager got very defensive when I confronted him about it and refused to do anything about it. Use this shop at your own risk. They will not follow through with good customer service if they mess something up.

Just got back from an oil change, went with my wife while they did it to deposit a check. Right as we were coming back I see someone tearing off in my truck. I get out of the car and walk to the sidewalk, look down the street, and its gone. I walk in and the lady behind the desk says something like Uh, this is where I come up with a good lie?He comes back with the truck, I get the bill, showing that my fluids and belts are good, despite the transmission fluid leak Id asked them to just look at and the alternator belt thats about to fall off.

Had a part changed on my truck, it was defective so they said they would order a new one but a couple days went by and they never called. Traded the truck in for a new one and they still want to charge me for a defective part even though they never got the new one in, the lady was very rude and hung up on me when inquiring about it

Had a simple question about why my oil change went from $27.95 to $44 and change for a small 4 cylinder Chevy Cruze. The OWNER came in with a nasty attitude, yelling and cussing, saying ALL people will pay an extra $6 for a certain kind of oil filter. On a Chevy Cruze?? Really?? Nowhere else has ever charged me extra!! Moral of the story, dont expect to pay the advertised price, no matter what kind of vehicle you have. And if you question them on it, expect to get yelled and cussed at, BY THE OWNER! My advice is just avoid this place altogether!

Taken my car here twice for oil changes since Ive moved here and they always finish within 30 mins. My car requires the most expensive oil change which has always been priced by other companies at $75-$97. Here Ive only ever paid maybe $45ish only because they had to have a filter delivered. Will definitely continue to go here for my oil changed while Im stationed here.

I was a bit hesitant to use these guys for a Prius brake job and mount/balance my oversize truck tires, but followed my friends recommendation and went forward.I was impressed at every stage of the process. The phone professionalism last Thursday making the appointments for Saturday was impeccable. The friendly service and casual atmosphere on site was just right.It turned out the Prius didnt need a brake job, but needed the fluid topped off AT NO CHARGE! Im sure this would have ended up a $1,500 repair job elsewhere! While mounting the new tires I had purchased online, they called to advise I needed rear brakes. I happened to have looked at them earlier and was considering having it done, but they said I could get another 2-3K mi. out of them. I had them take care of it right away (since I saved a few bucks with the Prius), and the price was very reasonable.Overall, it was a great experience, I was treated fairly and the price was lower than expected..I dont know where the unfavorable reviews may have originated, but I sure didnt see any of those nightmares in my personal experience. This is my unsolicited opinion.Thanks!

During this experience, they never called me to let me know what was the status of my car and each time I called, the Rep. said that she would have someone to call me. This never happened. No phone call or anything. Finally I talked to a person/ manager by the name of Phil on Thursday and he informed me that my car would be ready by the end of the day. I called several times towards the end of the day, trying to see when my car will be ready and I kept getting the run around. So I called at 5:30 pm and finally talked to someone and she informed me that Phil would call me back. This never happened. At this point I am very frustrated. I gave up. Around 8pm a rep called me back and informed me that they need to do some tests or further evaluation to make sure everything is good to go and I would get it back Friday Morning. I called Friday morning and of course they didnt have it ready. I didnt get my car back until 4pm in the after noon and they wanted to charge me more money than what I was handed in writing. I am outraged at this point. So I get in my car drive it to my location and notice that my car was over heating. So I parked the car, called them and adviced them what was going on. Phil came out to my location the next day to see what the issue was. He popped the hood and wanted to drive the car back to the shop. I adviced him that he should nt do that because it will over heat and may damage some other part. DUHHHHH!!!!! So he decided that he was going to bring his flat bed truck to tow it. On Friday I told Phil that I had talked to one of the Mechanic there and I adviced him that there was a drip pan under my car with radiator fluid in side. The guy replied, Oh that is okay, we had to drain and replace the fluids after changing your timing belt. When I told him this he advice me that I should go to a 3RD party to get another opinion. WHAT!!!!! At this point he is not taking the responsibility of owning up to they mistake. He told me that it was not his problem and he is not going to fix the car. They have not heard the last of me or from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again if I have not told you in the review. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE, CAR OR ANYTHING YOU OWN, FOR THAT MATTER TO HILLTOP AUTO SERVICE IN OAK HARBOR, WA

I wouldnt recommend Hilltop Texaco for auto repairs to anyone and will never take any of my vehicles back there even for just an oil change. I had my corvette towed there to save money towing to the Chevy dealer in Anacortes or Mt. Vernon. They told me they knew how to work on Corvettes, but theyve had my vette now for 4 days. They dont even call me to let me know what going on or that theyre keeping it overnight. I should have just had it towed to the dealer. I even go there physically and they give me vague answers and nobodys actually working on it and the person who is is always out or away. They cant be trusted.I too once took a vehicle there for brakes and 2 months later had to take it to Les Schwab to get it redone and to pay more money. Too bad I didnt learn my lesson then but I sure have now.

This place is the worst!!!!!! The dont ever return phone calls and their word means nothing. Ive had my vehicle trapped there for about a month now. I wouldnt trust these guys with an oil change at this point.

A few months ago I went in to have a star chip repaired. They did such a poor job, you could hardly tell they did anything. They would/could not do anything to improve the look nor would they refund me the money. The other day the window cracked completely.

I want to be clear this review is of the gas station, nothing else.Gas here is the cheapest on town if you use a credit card. There are cheaper debit card prices sometimes but usually they are on par with the debit prices. On the island this is where I get my gas.
