Since I could not give zero stars I will say the one star is for the nice woman who works the front desk. Other than that, nothing about this place could justify how they hook you in with a cheap price and then before you know it you are hit will a price increases. The first one was at 4-5 months for $10 ($67- to $77) Still cheaper than the last place where I stored. Then, at 9 months The price went from $77 to $163!!!!! The sent the smallest tiny little generic white card to inform me of the price increase. Something I am sure many people easily miss. I am sure they are hoping that with auto pay most people won’t notice.This is unacceptable! This is just your average dusty and dark storage space with the most annoying light timers that shut off every 15 mins and leave you in total darkness. You have find your way down the hallway in total darkness to find a place where there is a light sensor to get them back on. If you’re alone, its reminiscent of a horror film….lol.Oh, just to be fair, you can pre pay up to a year in advance and avoid the price increases for a little while anyway. Still, not worth it. The last storage space I was in only increased $25 in 4 years.Oh, and if you are hoping to get someone on the phone to talk about the increase, forget it. In the 9 months I have been with them they have never answered, not once.

The customer service was great. Very nice and helpful. Actually using the location was difficult. They provide hand carts to load your things - Good. the parking lot is sloped so you need to hold or brace the carts to use them. Garage door to bring things in - Good, step up at garage door opening making it useless for the provided handcart (if you put anything on the cart).

The manager was awesome. It stopsthere. They auction off your belongingsif you get behind on your bill. They wereterrible in having any compassion forthere customers during the thick of thepandemic. There prices are high. Anddont tell you your bill is subject to a highincrease every month. Do not use themfor your rental needs. I rented for quite awhile and saw some really mean and cruel business practices to other rentersthat fell on hard times. In the past theyve hired help that have threatenedcustomers. No place is perfect but bewarned and apply some due diligenceto where you store your belongings.

Units are nice and temperature controlled but would only recommend storing your items here for short term!! My husband and I moved out of our storage unit after 10 days of our last payment and we are not being issued a refund for the unused days. The reason we moved out is because our rate increased, and we found the new rate ridiculous! We moved into the storage unit October 2016 and in less than 5 years our rate more than doubled!

The first time I went there the lady was pretty rude . I had came back a couple days later after looking around at other storage units. I had spoke to a different lady named Rachel. She was SUPER NICE and very sweet. Definitely a great experience.

Second Post:BEWARE - They just increased my storage unit rate by over 50% … $80 increase! You gotta be kidding me! This was my 5th month at the place. I’ll be shopping around for another facility after this stunt! That’s just bad business! Very upset.First post/First Month:Clean facility, nice customer service - you get what you pay for.

Diane made everything very easy, from explaining the process, showing us the spaces available, answering our questions, to getting us all set up with the paperwork/electronic forms and info to move in. She us very helpful and friendly. The space is very clean and easy to get to with a huge freight elevator for upper floors, and extra dollies if you need them. Thank you!

I had never rented storage space -talk about a newbie- didn’t know where the door was, couldn’t figure out how to access the door- because I didn’t read the directions, couldn’t figure out how to remove the “Reserved” tag, couldn’t figure out how to open the door etc etc. I went back to the office and I was saved!!! The staff went up with me and helped me through my imaginary crises. She even had to show me how to work the lock. Pitiful right? We ended my rental experience with the staff showing me how to easily get from my unit to the elevator instead of the maze I had created for myself. A lot of laughs and a lot of help. I also liked that I could up my insurance value as I added to the unit and that the AC went on when the temp reached 75.

The lady Diane who runs the entire site helped me quickly, kindly and was very informative in helping me select the perfect size storage unit!!!I will never go to another cheapo depot storage facility again...She also got us a better deal and size unit, that was cheaper/cleaner than all other surrounding places!!Thanks again Diane, youre the best!!

This bad review is a result of a very bad experience with Extra Space Storage in Northborough that resulted in us closing our account with them before we had even moved in.Diane was initially very nice on the phone during reservation. She made the process simple. She also gave me the first month free if I agreed to complete the reservation right then and there with her on the phone. It was a good deal so I took it and I was happy.u2028Not even a minute into walking into the facility office and meeting Diane, my husband and I were so upset at the way she was treating us that we asked her to close our account right then and there. She was being extremely rude to us for no reason. She was annoyed with our very presence in the office. I’m still at a loss for understanding how someone can be so nice on the phone during booking but so miserable and disrespectful when met in person. I actually had to ask Diane if she was really the one I talked to on the phone when we completed the booking and she confirmed that yes it was her.If you are desperate for a unit here for any reason, make sure you try to reserve it with no contact. Try to book online without talking to anybody, and go to your unit as soon as you reserve it and put your own lock on there. Just do your best to find and manage the unit on your own. By the way, they never pick up the phone either. So good luck trying to reach someone if you have questions/concerns.u2028I want them to know that we would have kept our unit if Diane wasnt so disrespectful to us when we walked in to see our unit for the first time. At least she refunded everything we had paid for the unit up until that point and at least she was at work during the posted office hours, so I’m actually happy and thankful that those 2 simple things went right.u2028I would never recommend Extra Space Storage to anybody. Any business that doesnt know how to treat its customers is not worth a minute of your time.

Good staff, helped when the unit I choose online turned out to be split VS a single space (was fixed during sign up). Overall the space is well maintained and has security cams.

Diane was so helpful. She did everything she could to fix my problem with a reservation online (thing that it was not her fault) but she fixed it. Im super grateful for that and cant wait to start using my storage.

Manager Diane is a helpful, kind and knowledgeable provider. She helped me to set up a new account and was willing to answer all of my questions and then respond to concerns about the storage of my items. I could not have ask for a better support at the storage office.I also noted that Diane kept the hallways swept and dry (miserable weather was occurring) and she helped me to access the side door when it stuck. I observed Diane helping another client by quickly getting a work order in for a new light bulb and to repair a roller door that needed attention.I believe Diane is a real asset at the Northeast Extra Space Storage. I appreciate her attention to me and to details there.

The price of my space keeps going up in increments that seem more extreme than rising cost of operation. Lame.The people who work there are helpful and professional.The building is clean enough.Hours are pretty good but I have gone too early before. 24 hour access would be awesome

This facility is exceptionally clean, secure, and easily accessible to space renters.What I appreciated most, however, is the staff at this location. We coordinated a cross-country move and having someone reliable on the other end of the reservation was a tremendous help. Diane K, the store manager, was fantastic. She went above and beyond to help us identify what size space we needed and helped us organize our time line for delivery of items. During our first conversation on the telephone she asked, What can I do to make your move easier? At that point, I knew I was in good hands and from that point forward she never let us down.This isnt the first storage unit weve rented, but its by far the best. I highly recommend this facility.

The location seems very secure with a lot of cameras and adequate sprinklers / fire prevention in place. Talked with Rachael who was great and thoroughly explained the rental process and billing periods. She also made sure I looked at the unit to make sure I was getting the correct sizing for me & roomates needs. The general storage may not be appropriate for all items but they do have heated / climate controlled units as well.

Highly recommended! The storage space is extremely clean, bright, and very secure. This is my second time using it this year and all of the staff especially Diane is amazing. I have primarily worked with Diane who has a wonderful personality! She knows this business inside and out which makes it very easy to come in choose unit, and get the paperwork done. I was in and out fast.

Great access, secure location. Staff on site monitoring. Clean, private, and dry! Your stored stuff wont come back to you smelling like it was outside for 5 months. Carts are available to transport your heavy stuff. Prices are very very reasonable. Make your wife happy and get the stuff you arent using out of her living room or garage!

If I could give zero stars I would. This company does not want new business. I went online to reserve a unit. Easy to do. I was excited until I called the facility at 5:20 to let them know I was coming down so they could be ready for me when I got there. I am 15 minutes away. I was informed by Diane the manager that they close at 6 PM and to not come today because she would not stay after 6 PM because she does not get paid to do that. Really makes you feel good about putting your valuables in a storage facility. After I told her they should change their hours on their site and asked if there was anyway I could come in to get the unit she asked me if I would walk into a grocery store at 5 minutes until closing and expect to be able to buy something. My answer, YES I would.Pretty clear, this company does not want new business and I would assume from this experience that they do not move and inch to take care of their existing customers.

These guys were fast, efficient and convenient. They got me set up same day, son as I walked in. They space was clean, well priced, convenient elevators and big hand trucks to help move stuff. They even shoveled me out in a snow storm. I highly recommend them.

Upon driving up, the facility looks clean, well kept with locked doors and security cameras everywhere -- exactly what you want to see for peace of mind in where you are storing your belongings. The facility is also right down the road from the Police Station and close to 495, so location is excellent.Diane was a delight to work with and went the extra mile to help me with my reservation, thanks Diane!

We have used Extra Space Storage in Northborough for a number of years. It is clean, well lit and well maintained. We always appreciate the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful office staff. Sheila, the manager answers all of our questions and makes sure that we get the best deal on our rental. We toured other storage facilities and were not impressed. We are very impressed with Extra Space.

A decent self storage facility. There is easy access to the building for unloading your vehicle. The access hours are excellent. The actual storage units are clean, though (unsurprisingly) the whole building has a dusty feel to it. Although they work, the garage doors and elevator sound like they could use a tuneup. My main complaint is the price to rent a unit seems to continually increase. That being said, if you need a storage facility in the area you could do much worse that Extra Space Storage.

Local Management (Diane) and support staff offered excellent support from sign-up to sign-out. The facility is very well maintained, clean (highest priority for me) and overall managed really well. I first got a unit almost a year ago, and Sheila was very helpful and friendly. The unit was exactly what I needed, and the facility has always been easily accessible and very well-maintained. Yesterday, I went in to see about moving to a larger unit, and Douglas made it very simple. Again, friendly, helpful, and the new unit works perfectly for me.

Clean, secure, friendly staff, but take note that it does not have a loading dock. There is climate controlled storage available. I like the convenient location and how clean and well lit it is. I would feel comfortable coming here by myself.

I needed a facility to store furniture and clothing for my mom. I looked around and choose Extra Space Storage in Northboro. I was very impressed with the manager Sheila, she answered all my questions and was very helpful. The storage is easy to get to, easy access to the units, very well lit and maintained, and I feel safe no matter what time I go. Its also a good place to buy moving boxes and has everything you might need. When I recently realized I had to move more stuff, Sheila took the time and helped me choose the right number of boxes I needed. I highly recommend this storage facility. Just ask for Sheila, shell help you out and put a smile on your face.

Recently reserved a new storage unit for my home move. Everything went very smoothly and the staff were very accommodating!

Ive rented with Extra Space in Northborough for over 2 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The building is in excellent condition and kept immaculately clean. It is truly climate controlled---no humidity and everything remains dry. All my stored items remain in the same condition as the day I moved them in. Theyre a little more than others, but, in this case, you get what you pay for. Exceptional facility and company.

After six years of storage, my property was in very good shape. The staff was very attentive. They were able to offer sound advice. I was impressed with their knowledge about the needs of the region.

I cant say too much about this as my sister-in-law is using it as storage and I just helped put stuff in. But it seemed very clean and I see nothing wrong with storing your stuff

My experience with Sheila Brust (manager) was very pleasant & professional. She explained the contract in detail and helped me carry the right level of insurance. The building was clean inside and out with easy access to my storage locker. I looked at other storage locations in my area and found this one the best.

The lady inside at her desk was very welcoming and knew exactly what I needed for a reasonable price. She had humor and didnt just make you feel like a customer, she made me feel like I had known her fro years and we were just having a normal conversation. As we proceeded to the steps of signing the lease for the storage unit, she was very clear and informative about the company policies. Her hours of operations are great and I have access to my storage unit until 10:00pm. This is fabulous for me and my husband. I highly recommend Extra Space Storage to anyone - even if you are mant miles away. Thank you, so much!
