It is difficult to find reasonable pricing for electronic issues in the Hampton Roads area but Professional Auto Diagnostics and Repairs were able to locate the problems and take care of them quickly. I recently brought our 2012 BMW X5 for a front strut replacement. It was my first experience here and I’m not going anywhere else! I made an appointment as my CR-V was making a creaking noise. My description of my trouble was enough for them to suspect an issue with my suspension, a sway bar I believe. The diagnosis was correct and the problem was fixed before the original time estimate!

The mechanics there are awesome! After taking my car repeatedly to Williamsburg Priority Nissan since January 2021 & over $2,000 later to no avail my vehicle still wasnt fixed. However, once I took my car to Professional Diagnostics, had it towed there on a Wednesday & I picked it up on a Friday...Im pleased to say that it was repaired and its still running pretty good. I would have given them 5 stars...but the only reason that I didnt was because of the individual who quoted me repair costs and changed the cost of the diagnostic fee & the repairs several times...which truly upset me which I expressed to the owner. I have to say that even though this occurred....I will bring my car back if I ever need anything else repaired, I will just get my repair charges in writing up front. Kinda pricey but I have to admit these guys know what theyre doing and the work is guaranteed. Out of 3 Trucks sent there Im not completely satisfied with the unresolved leaking transmission from one of them. 2 out of 3 isnt bad and they did ask for me to bring it back.

Horrible experience. Went in the day prior for a State Inspection. Gentleman told me they were book but come back tomorrow they open at 8am. I go back and the gentleman at the counter tells me that I couldnt have come in as he was there and he is completely booked. He could have said he wasnt the one I talked to, but he insulted me by trying to say I never came there. Awful Customer Service.

I dont typically write reviews of businesses but thought that Professional Auto Diagnostics deserved the benefit of this post. My 16 year old son recently bought a gently used ( sarcasm ) 2004 Mazda 3, to say this car had issues is an understatement. The car visited two local repair shops and the dealer for an electrical issue that could not be diagnosed but every other shop had a laundry list of other items that needed immediate attention . My son and I did the repairs that we were competent enough to complete on our own but with the State Inspection coming up and the horn not working, part of the aforementioned electrical problem, we took the car to Professional Auto Diagnostics after seeing a video on Facebook by the owner Michael Leech. I talked with Mike and asked him to do a complete shake down of the car and let me know of every problem he could find. After two days I received an email and text with a link to the most complete, detailed diagnostic report I have ever seen. The report outlined all of the systems and components of the car and anything that had any issues had photographic evidence attached. To say I was blown away with their thoroughness is an understatement. The email and text was followed up by the office manager, Nicole, who was beyond helpful and prepared to discuss the report in detail offering different options of what should be fixed and what could wait. After some discussion we decided to proceed with repairs and what I thought would take much longer was completed in days, with the only hold up being a board that had to be ordered directly from the dealer. The repairs were completed in a timely fashion, explained completely and backed by the shop. Normally I would compare taking a car to a shop to getting a root canal but in this case the entire experience exceeded all expectations. This shop is up front and transparent about everything they say and do, their prices are reasonable and fair, their staff is helpful and courteous and while I certainly dont want to have to take any of our cars to a mechanic if I do, this will be the place. Save yourself a lot of time and money and take your car to Professional Auto Diagnostics the first time and get it done right. I had an electrical issue, took my vehicle to the dealer, thinking I would pay more but thought they could identify and solver the issue promptly, WRONG. AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS THE GSVE ME SN ESTIMATE FOR ALMOST THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I PAID THEM $250 for the estimate and took it to Professional and they quickly identified the problem as a corroded ground wire and charged me $65 for the repair. Their fee for finding the problem was more reasonable than the dealer who wanted to replace every part associated with the issue. MONEY WELL SPENT. RON PHILLIPS

Michael gave me some very good advice for my sister’s car when I was helping her get estimates. When my 15 year old van was making strange noises I took it to Professional auto where the team quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and fixed it the same day. These guys do a great job. I have had my car serviced here about 4 times and have never had one problem. The first time I had my vehicle serviced here, I had a wheel hub replaced and since then my alignment has been much smoother on my car. I have also had several oil changes and a wheel balancing and alignment completed. These guys are honest and really try to provide the best service possible. Ive taken my car here twice now and in both cases they diagnosed and handled the problem very quickly. I was in town for business and needed an oil change. After reading several reviews of different shops, I chose Professional Auto Diagnostics. I called and made and appointment and gave Michael the year and make of my car. When I arrived, I pulled my owners manual and was prepared to make sure he knew what kind of oil my car required.I walked into the lobby and he immediately asked, Kathi?. Before I could say anything beyond, yes, he told me what kind of oil my car required and gave me two choices, based on the mileage I drove and the frequency I usually had it changed. My owners manual never saw the light of day.I asked him to check the tires; did they need rotation? When the car was finished, the bill was exactly what he quoted, with the recommendation that the tires be rotated the next time I got my oil changed.Listening to conversations he had with other customers, it was clear he had a network of contractors in the area. I was in need of help getting a house ready to put on the market. He generously gave me a long list of contractors he uses. Ive called most of them and have started the work I needed. I wish his business was located up in northern VA. I would be one of his biggest fans!

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable mechanics. The service is quick, thorough, and reasonably priced.I brought my Honda Passport in after Honda couldnt fix it. Not only did the mechanics fix my car, they did it for quite a bit less than they originally quoted me! When they tore things apart, they discovered that some of the parts they expected to be bad, were in good shape and as such didnt waste my money or their time replacing things that didnt need to be replaced.Its rare to find a good mechanic, and I think I have found mine.

I found Professional Auto Diagnostics after I took one of my vehicles to another mechanic and he overcharged me and didnt fix my van. At first, I was skeptical because I had never heard of them and I been in this area for a while. But they came off Angies List and I had never got a bad contact before. So I took my can to them they showed me what the other mechanic had done wrong and they fixed it right the first time. I was impressed. They where friend never tried to upsell me anything and explained everything in great detail. I have been using them ever since. Even when the truck that I continuously took to the dealership kept giving me problems. I finally took it to Mike and now I have no problems. So as long as Im in this area I will forever bring all my cars to them.

I went there to get my car inspected. I was recommended by a friend and was pleasantly surprised. They were quick, honest (which is very rare, especially in that type of business) and extremely polite. I didnt feel as i was being pushed into getting any type of extra service done and i was given a quote that was priced very low. The employees were all very knowledgeable, and professional. I took my car in for a catalytic converter light. They checked it out and verified that was the problem then advised me that the converter is actually still covered by warranty. One of the few honest and trustworthy shops left!

Great company. We had a lot of issues with our work vans especially the diesel ones and we sent them to this company after many other tries at different companies. We received a quote from one company of $3000 to $4000 to fix an issue and professional auto diagnostics fixed it for less than $300.

Very disappointed in the service here. My name is Joseph Marshall(Im using my brothers account because I do not have a google account). I brought my 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in just to have the coolant crossover tube to be resealed and have the o-rings replaced because it was smoking from there when I brought it in and to have an inspection done. They took it upon themselves to do a diagnostic($95 to do) even though I said I would only like to have my coolant crossover tube repaired. I had the car taken in on a Monday and they called on a Thursday to tell me the problems they found and they gave me a long list of problems and recommendations totaling to almost $3,000. They said it failed inspection for the battery hold down and sway bar link kits. I told them to only fix the coolant crossover tube and battery hold down. I told them I wouldnt be able to pick the car up until Saturday and they said thats no problem itll be ready for me. I came in Saturday only to be told that it wasnt done yet because the mechanic had taken a couple days off with no call about my vehicle not being finished. However, Im thankful I did come in because I noticed my paint had been messed up on the bottom edge of the body under the passenger side door(I brought it in with no problems with my paint at all). They told me they would look at it. I was called the following Tuesday and told that they couldnt fix the battery hold down(I was dumbfounded that they told me they can fix it then realized 3 days after they told me they would have it done), then they said there was a problem with my battery tray and said it would be another $150 for a new tray and to repair(I declined the work to be done). They also told me that my paint was just peeling and hadnt been primed(again I was blown away that they said it was just peeling because it hadnt been primed). This is the original paint job that it came out of the factory with so I have a really hard time believing that Ford didnt prime the paint. They did do a touch up job to fix the spot for free, but at this point I had already had enough. I paid them for the diagnostic I didnt ask for ($95), inspection ($16), and to repair my coolant crossover tube ($150) so the total was about $280 including the tax. The total price for parts was $7 so I paid ton for labor. I brought the car home and it died on me 4 times while driving and my engine was shaking very roughly the 2-3 miles. As I pulled into my driveway and turned the car off, I opened the hood to look at the engine because of how rough it was running for the last 2-3 miles and it was smoking from a radiator hose(it wasnt having this problem before I brought it in, only smoking from the coolant crossover tube). This has been the worst experience of service Ive ever had in my life.

I simply went in to diagnose my AC not working and they went above and beyond to ensure everything in my vehicle was up to par, (they even topped off my powersteering fluid since it was leaking free if charge) including documentation with photos of all repairs my vehicle may need soon.
