Great selection of old world wines. Price on the higher end compared to other higher end wine retailers in town.
Extremely unhappy with Morell right now.How is it possible they charge $208 shipping for 6 bottles to 00927 from NYC.When Benchmark charges $55.74 for 5 bottles to same address from CALIFORNIA.Something is wrong with their shipping quotes.Be very careful. At the last minute I had to cancel the order because I wouldnt accept the shipping price. And guess what happened? Mike surprised me with a 10% restocking fee.Be very careful with Morell.Or try other well respected companies such as Benchmark or Vivino among others.
Nice tasting menu for $45.I especially liked the cheese dessert. Morell is a legendary wine merchant, and this restaurant features wines from the merchant. The service was top notch, as you expect from an upscale restaurant like this. I did outdoor seating which was perfect with great views of Rockefeller’s center.
If you are in the market for first class Vintage wines this is where to go. You can order on line or by phone, you can even visit in person. There personel are all very well versed in selections of wines. Keep in mind that most are Vintage from Great Estates in France, Germany & Italy, they can be pricy unless you are a collector who wants to buy to lay down for a few years before enjoying. They do offer delivery, call for rates. I do recommended them to any one looking for a great wines.,
I like wine, so I rashly went to your affordable Wine shop. The staff greeted me politely and respectfully. I could see that he was very dedicated to his job. He suggested some tasty wines that I could enjoy with my special someone. Thank you for everything, guys! I will strongly recommend your affordable service to all of my family and friends.
Went for drinks and appetizers on a Thursday night and loved it so much we went back in Friday for the prix fixe lunch (see photo for one course). I am still thinking about the tortellini on the appetizer menu, it was so delicious. The prix fixe lunch (and dinner) menu is a great value and we often find ourselves in the area when visiting so we will definitely return and are thankful our friends introduced us to this cozy spot. As you walk out of the restaurant you see the Rockefeller Center skating rink area and at night its an especially pretty view (see photo). Morrells is a quiet oasis in the midst of a crush of people!
We stumbled this city gem back in 2015. We make a point to come in and enjoy ourselves and the amazing fare. Each time we visit. We meet great people. From the hostess to the waiters... The atmosphere is small and cozy. If it is warm outside. Take advantage of sitting there and enjoy all things New York.
It is an annoyance when you have to go to a store 3 times to get what you came for. First time, the wines shown online were not available in store. The second time, the online order was not ready for pick up, despite an email was sent that it would be available for pick up. The third time will hopefully be successful - fingers crossed
Bunch of con artist!!! Do not sell or buy from Morrell. They steal from people to just about pay nothing for your wine. Then they mark it up 500%. Always a terrible experience with this company. Avoid this company at all costs. They are a bunch of negligent, liars and immoral people. Dont let me tell you I told you so!!!!
Great location and a well designed menu. The only complaint I would have would be that the lettuce in my salad wasnt the freshest. But, I ate the whole salad. Friendly staff and efficient service. Lunch reservations are fairly easy to get. If you are touring around Rockefeller and want a decent lunch, Morrell works well.
Morrell is in a class by itself. Its not just about SERVICE, but KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVICE. Its not just about SELECTION, but about the RIGHT SELECTION.
Writing this in remembrance of the bouchon bakery, the best grilled cheese ever.
Great selection, outstanding service, incredible people!
An absolute must for anyone in NYC. One of my favorite spots for an amazing experience and such a well thought out wine list. So many beautiful wines to try and they are always willing to assist in my selection. Dave at the bar was welcoming, professional and super friendly. Anna is a gem and so approachable to discuss wines and allow for your time at Morrell to be unforgettable. My lunch was so delish as well. Had truffle deviled eggs and smoked salmon sandwich. When youre there you feel at home!! Thank you
Absolutely loved this place! Stopped in with a coworker and my girlfriend and we ended up closing the place down. Alejandro and Fernando were absolutely amazing bartenders! I received lessons on bourbon, wine pairing, and the food was exceptional. Sitting at the bar and talking with the bartenders was an experience of its own. They truly care about their customers and their experience.
Jeff was phenomenal and super helpful! Store is gorgeous with an amazingly curated selection.
Do go here to drink but not to eat. This spot has an extensive and delicious wine menu. Decent cocktails. Limited beer. But, you are certain to be both delighted and surprised.Dont go here to eat. They should scrap this entire menu and focus on fresh core essentials. This is unhappy cuisine.
Loved this place. After ice skating and seeing the top of the rock, we wanted a nice quiet drink and some good food. This place fit the bill. We sat at the bar. The bartender was amazing, I had the vesper and it was the best I ever had. The quiche was delicious. Totally recommend.
We sat on the patio, watched the people and enjoyed an awesome glass of wine! It is right across from Rockefeller Center on a corner location. The meal was fabulous and service was perfect! Loved it and will be back!
I love this place can you please open outdoors sitingI think morrell wine bar ls gone byeI
Knowledgeable and friendly wine staff with insider tips on great wines make this a real wine lovers destination. Plus the food pairings are outstanding. Will Pitman is a fantastic wine guide so chat him up.
Our last stop in NYC. Admittingly the city is overrun with restaurants options and its usually hit or miss. We already had a few misses so our expectations were low. This was a hit!. We sat at the bar but we got the attention of the wine sommelier at the restaurant and she was amazing. The food was delicious. And the atmosphere was perfect. Even though it was a Saturday before Thanksgiving and it was starting to get busy at Rockefeller Center the restaurant was not too busy. Of course Im sure that will change in the coming weeks. We will definitely make this a stop on our return trips.
We stopped in tonight for a quick drink while in the area, and ended up staying for 3+ hours chatting with the bartenders, eating great food, and drinking phenomenal drinks. Alejandro and Fernando were excellent bartenders and I cant speak more highly of both of them. Both were incredibly knowledgeable about wine pairings with our meals as well as with their whiskey selection. Would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!
Great, imaginative food. Not very expensive especially considering location. Had an awesome kale and walnut salad after a long day of siteseeing. Good service.
An absolute classic watering hole attached to the eponymous wine dealer next door, this restaurant provides just the right size little dishes to accompany the expansive collection of wines from all over the world. It is small and can get crowded at peak hours. Staff are mostly unfazed by the crowds though, and service is consistently good.
My (now) husband and I got engaged on the rink and when we finished skating, we came upon Morrell Wine Bar. Since the spelling is so close to our last name, we obviously had to go in :) It made for the perfect ending to a perfect day. We were already on cloud 9, but the food and champagne here made it so perfect. thank you!
Quite expensive but cozy and convenient. Ignore the people next to you who are talking too loudly and you will have a good time.
Fantastic service, astonishing atmosphere and delicious wine and food. What a great experience especially because of the manager Anna Cabrales!
I love this place. Its tucked away so its more quiet, and the atmosphere is amazing. I only didnt give more stars because we ordered a bottle of wine and after our dinner we were enjoying it and talking. Our waiter told us we had to finish it and leave because our table was promised to someone else. There were plenty of open tables in the restaurant.
Very busy during lunch times during weekdays, so make a reservation if youre going then. Has lunch specials (both drink and food) which is a good thing, but the food quality and quantity while good, was not worth the price IMO. Its proximity to Rockefeller Center likely requires and allows the prices, but for me it is a reason I wont be returning.
Very nice atmosphere although it does get a bit loud (part acoustics, part table of screeching ladies having too much fun next to me) and a bit pricey (wines $13-$80 a glass) but it IS across from the very festive Rockefeller Center in New York City...and the selection of food and wines makes it worth the splurge. I had the onion soup (which was slightly sweet- not a fan of that) and the baby beet salad. Looked amazing but the dressing was sort of tasteless. I requested a side of dressing to add. For food I give it a 4*, and for wine selection a 5* (but pricing is hefty).
Nice wine and charcuterie plate. Plate was a bit skimpy but still quite good.
Came here with family for an early Christmas wine and cheese outing and we had such a good time. The service is wonderful, the view of the tree is so fun, and the food and wine are both spectacular. Definitely want to come back next year!
Decent food. Great wine selection. A bit pricey but it is right across the street from Rockefeller center. What do you expect?
This was excellent and very good food, we had the cold plate, with different type of French cold plate consist of different types of meat dishes, and cheese and olives, pickles, a complete dish for two people, with, a bottle of French red wine.!!😍😋❤🍸🍸 Bon appetite!!😍😢
I love Morrell & Co. Theyre employees are knowledgeable and so friendly. Went many times during our last visit to NYC for the Westminster Dog Show. They were very engaged about it and made us feel even more special.Been there many times before during past visits and will continue to return.
Amazing food. Service was very accommodating and great attitude
The Pork Sausage Fusilli on the lunch menu was so so good!
Courteous service. Reasonably priced lunch prices
Amazing wine selection. You will pay top $$$ however, it is the place to go in the spring if you want to get wine greatness in NYC.
Staff was rude, a popular place for tourists but there are thousands of places in NYC to go with better pricing and friendlier staff. I went in with family who were visiting to see the tree but after the hostess was extremely rude to us we left. The place is over crowded, over priced and full of tourists but because of the location we would have stayed had a member of their staff not been so rude.
Great food, great service, great staff. Very consistent food quality and of course a great wine list. Truly a wine bar with balance of great food and wine.
Fantastic place. We have been here twice this week.We had to wait a bit for the wine we chose and was treated to a glass of wine. They know hospitality!
Delicious food, nice setting, great location and reasonable prices. I would definitely visit again!
Simple yet complex food, perfectly balanced, fabulous wines, awesome vibe, cant recommend highly enough. Also parking in the back!
Great small place. Reseanoble priced. Great Wine and Cheese. We also got Salmon and Ribs, very good.
Great option for a business/ working lunch in midtown. Crowd can be quite touristy though.
Great selection of wines and excellent service. Great view of Rockefeller Center, too.
Fancy place ! Good for drinks n small bites !!
Wonderful selection of wine. Amazing customer service, and amazing knowledge of wines. Could not be happier with this shop!
Great wine selection, great convenient location, great staff. Good oysters.
We have been going to Morrells for the past five years when in NYC. Nice wine bar with a view of the tree and tasty small bitesThis year was a disappointment. Food is not the same. Truffled deviled eggs used to be piped as little hens with crispy skin as beaks and bits of black truffle. Truly delicious, not so this year as well as the other small plates that we sharedThe true astonishment was the lack of attention by the bar tender who actually picked his nose and “inadvertently “ added a 60 dollar bottle of wine to our bill
This is a great place to be. The food is awesome. Of course it is a bit pricy, but what would you expect near Rockefeller Center.
Well situated opposite Rockerfeller Centre. Good wine list.
Nice place. Casual. Great selection of wines. Small (tapaslike) dishes are tasty.
Less touristy than most of the restaurants in the area. Super fresh ingredients.
What more can you say about a place that offers Ramonet by the glass in Rockerfeller Plaza??? 40+ amazing wines by the glass selected by some of the best sommeliers in the city served in a great atmosphere in one of the most desirable locations in Manhattan. Ill be back again and again and again!
Excellent wine choices and lovely food. Very expensive but worth it.
World of wines to choose from, and each one better than the next. Must try...you will not regret it.
Good service and choice for every taste and price.
Great staff, relaxing time at the bar. Excellent.
Best white wine Ive had in a long time
2 stars only because they had great service...food was ehhh..overpriced, felt cramped in a corner, no views, pretty tight space, not much selection for food...wont be going back.
Large selection of high end wines.
I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Food: Excellent! Have the Pumpkin Ravioli.Drinks: Excellent. Great wine selection. Has an extensive Chardonnay selection.Space: Very elegant and modern wine bar/restaurant. The bar is large and open making it great for mixing and mingling. The restaurant area is also intimate and romantic. Great place to bring a date, impress your significant other or get-togethers. They also offer outdoor dining making the whole people watching experience at Rockefeller Plaza so much better!Scene: People watching. Romantic. Date night. Pickup scene. Singles scene. Girls night out. Outdoor dinningCrowd: 30-50s Pick-up scene. Mostly professionals, tourists and locals.Service: Excellent! The staff is very courteous, knowledgeable & professional.
The staff is rude and disinterested. I felt like they had zero interest in helping me because they must have thought I couldn’t afford their wines.
Where else can you practically sit under the tree and have a glass of wine
Incredible. Very cool place.
Food was horrible everyone got their food not at the same time service was horrible
Fantastic place. I loved the service and it was also good vides
Amazing wine bar, extraordinary selection of by-the-glass wines, including rare and very high-end wines (Krug Grand Cuvée? By the glass???), though also many inexpensive options ($12). Nice, small patio in the summer – and top-notch frosé (frozen rosé). Attached to world-class wine shop next door, whence the fabulous selection. Options are mostly French and Californian, according to US taste, but there are global options, and selections are often limited-production small producers.Worth a trip across town, and by far the best wine bar in Midtown!
Great wine selection and a nice variety of high end sharing plates. This place is expensive but also located next to Rockafeller Center so thats to be expected.Overall the cost and pretentious attitude will probably keep me from returning. Even for a fabulous bottle of wine.
Great selection, outstanding service, incredible people!
Amazing place to impress your date or have nice dinner with you family
Great wines by the glass and friendly staff.
Decently Priced (for nyc) wine bar at Rockefeller
Great listAint cheap my friends
I found this cafe on the corner of Rockefelle Center - 1/2 block where they do the NBC live moning news. I had a great express lunch - smoked salmon, topings on a fresh baked bagett with a carrot and ginger soup. since it right on the corner with a 1/2 green hedge around it makes it perfect for people watching and next to the Rock, great shopping, sites to see and short hop to Met Art museum. Very nice cafe and good service. Express lunch was $22. Lunch, wines and champagne solid - $$-$$$+
Started with California Bubbles (Schramsberg) and truffled deviled eggs and we were only wowed from there. Service from Carley was spot on and her recomendating priceless. Cant wait to come back!
Loved this wine bar. The decore and ambiance were lovely.
Pretty average, good selection of wine service and food below average...they have enough tourists so don’t seem to care much
Friendly staff, good food, lots of wines from all over the world!
The service was excellent!!! The food was good as well, except the white bean soup which was very smooth and creamy, but bland.
Solid selection and top notch service!
Tuna tartar taste like not fresh deconstructed sushi with wooden crackers on the side
Excellent wine list - great bartender (Will) - very good food - great location in Rock Center - small location - recommend highly but slighyly expensive
We have eaten here on several occasions. We have never had anything but superb food, superb service, and an overall superb experience.
Called Morrell today regarding the best liqueur ever produced on the planet. Was referred by one of their faithful customers that said they were the best, and having tried our one-of-a-kind all caramel, non-creamy liqueur made from exotic Indian spices and curries insisted that we contact them...These people are NOT the real DEAL! They would not know a quality spirit from spit on a NY street! Have the decency and the professionalism to a least speak to the distiller and maker of such a fine product before you show your unprofessional ignorant approach and say you are not interested. Buyer beware....MORRELL knows NOTHING! UPDATE: So a member of Morrells management team calls me about my bad review...This guy is a real piece of work. Tells me look, we said we werent interested in your liqueur, he says: we dont even sell liqueurs. So I say: it would have been nice if someone from your management team would have simply mentioned that. Today I check their online website, this guy is a liar...they do sell liqueurs....Buyer beware, these people lie about their own store.
Great selection. Always a favorite stop at Rockefeller center
