Yummy rice rolls aka onigiris aka fantuan. The spam one is kinda lame and didnt taste like spam and there wasnt a lot anyways. Chicken one was great.Great crispy non-soggy revolutionary seaweed packaging. Drinks were pretty fruity and sweet and the mango stars are cool.Cashier was really patient and friendly.
So delicious- even for vegetarians! The rice balls are warm and flavorful and affordable. I got the yaya and the spring roll rice balls- which had, unexpectedly, an actual spring roll inside. Highly recommend, only giving it 4 stars cause I’ve never had rice balls before. Also so easy to carry and eat on the go- for a snack or meal
Amazing staff, great tea! I always love checking out this location anytime I am in the area. Highly recommended!
I can’t say anything bad about this place. My kids drag me here frequently and they like returning. I have never been disappointed.
I got jasmine milk tea and a plum rice ball. The milk tea was good but the flavor isnt as strong as some other places. The rice ball was extremely salty and I had to take out all the filling to be able to eat it. The staff were all super nice!
I love the Boyfriend Boba Tea and the Vegan Riceballs. Ones with seaweed and the other something pickled I believe. Pretty good prices too🙏🏽and they have Unique Asian snacks
Horrible service and milk tea. Save your time and money, go elsewhere.Earlier today, I wanted to order a rose tea latte, but the cashier said all the items on the left side of the menu were unavailable and took too long to make. I ended up ordering a regular black milk tea with 30% sugar and was told the place was also out of tapioca. The cashier told the customers behind me to go next-door for a drink with tapioca! Even worse, while I was waiting for my drink, I saw someone else get a rose milk tea, which the cashier wouldnt let me order! My order came out and it was DISGUSTING. Tasted like sugar water and it was lukewarm, barely had any ice and it had all melted within a minute of getting the drink. I was unsatisfied with my order, so they took my drink back, opened up the top and kept adding black tea to it (no milk, just plain black tea). It just got worse and worse so I asked for a refund. The cashier said they used too many resources already so they couldnt give me my money back. RIDICULOUS. Not only is what they did unsanitary, especially during the pandemic, but they also wasted my time, money, and contributed to a very bad experience.Seriously, go anywhere else but here.
Had a nice bubble tea here. Service was fairly quick and the tea was nice
It was my first time in NYC and i regret getting bubble tea from here. i only went because this shop was the closest by. their focus should be less on the aesthetics and more on some drinks. i got the classic milk tea with boba and it was a let down. the tea was just bland & the boba texture could have been more soft. i ended up throwing my drink away because it tasted like watered down milk tea.aside from the drink, i enjoyed the spam onigiri. i loved the adorable packaging so much & wish i had ordered more to take home during my road trip! 😭
Their teas and boba are very mediocre if not just bad. I always get 30% (25% at YAYA) sugar and their tea is so bland that it barely tastes like anything. Their boba is also way too chewy and boarder line hard. Do not recommend getting any drinks from them. Their food on the other hand is pretty decent.the takoyaki’s portion size is small and thus a little overpriced. Their onigiri is pretty good though.
I love this boba place! My go-to for sure!! The boba is so delicious and the rice balls
These rice balls or onigiri are really fire. My boy put me on to this shop and I can’t stop coming back. My two favorite are the chicken and the spam.
Delicious! I had the shrimp tempura and the yaya chicken rice balls, and everything was so tasty! I would definitely return.**this would have been a 5 star rating if the young woman behind the counter didnt have such an attitude when my sister asked to replace her beverage because the cup it was in was cracked and leaking.Aside from that, a great experience
It was great ! probably one of the best tea places I’ve ever been to, the rice balls was good and service was fast considering how many people there were . im going to be honest you all who left negative reviews for no reason are probably just mad it is a poc owned business are xenophobic which is disgustingbut if you want give this place a try :]
First love is very fresh. Will definitely recommend.
If your looking for a local boba tea shop this is the place to go, they have a well detailed menu with plenty of options and you can fully customize your boba tea. There not really expensive as I got a large for roughly 5$ and it was very good. P.s this is a small establishment with very little space to stand and because of covid they only allow 6 people at a time.
AMAZING BOBA TEA. LIKE HANDS DOWN, I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH GREAT BOBA IN MY LIFE. Ive travelled all over the world, and this place knows how to make boba sooo well. If you have a chance to stop by, you should!
Beautiful place and good food but the teen taking my order ( has hoops ) is very disrespectful. she woke up on the wrong side of the bed because i came in with respect and all she did was give attitude and asked me what i wanted rudely. please rehire !!!!!
Eh. 10$ minimum for card - the I LOVE YAYA was not what I expected.. there’s no bathroom. Maybe I came here expecting too much.. I guess its a good place if you want to grab something quick to go, but I wouldn’t say its one of my favorite places considering all the different options around here.Love the atmosphere though. Its generally quieter than your normal Starbucks.
Super slow service!!! Waited outside for almost 10min, then nearly another 10min inside. Would be nice if the employee(s) would spend less time on their phones when theres a long line of customers (or at least do so somewhere the customers cant see you). The Grand St location looks really nice, just not going there again because the service at the Christie St location is WAAAAAAAAY better and faster.
Got the salmon and yaya chicken onigiri. Not impressed. The salmon lacked flavor. The hockey was flavored enough, but on the dry end. And whoever wrapped these onigiri up didn’t do it right. I’ve unwrapped these things so many times and never had any issue with it until this time. As I was unwrapping the second part, the onigiri was already falling apart. The drinks are tasty. However, they were pretty cheap on the filling (boba, grass jelly, or what have you). Not returning.
Nice place it look just like a real living room awesome things too look at especially the giant rice ball .. the drinks taste soo good me n my partner got 2 diff ones deff will return
The person taking my order was rude and gave attitude. Good food but you need to employ more lively workers
Buy LARGE! We passed this place many times but never really popped in, but tonight we finally gave it a try. And it didn’t let us down. The selection was big enough. We thought at first it was quite expensive but then we did the math and ordered the large beverages (24 oz). It’s actually cheaper than most bubble tea stores in Manhattan. They tasted very good too!
Beware ordering online for pick-up. I did it standing outside the store from google maps/their website because there was such a long line. When I was notified it was ready 30 minutes later, that wasnt true as they actually never saw my order come through until I brought it to their attention so I had to wait another 10 minutes.
.Pros:(+) Absolutely love their rice balls(+) Rice balls was a perfect treat to take to the beach(+) Appreciate the cooler provided, was handy when taking our food to the beach.(+) The wrapping is so creative and innovative to keep the seaweed separated from the rice until opening. It has a cute sticker to indicate the filling (sticker in photo I posted was of a shrimp)(+) Inexpensive. Very fillingCons:(-) None. But please open more locations closer uptown
This is by far one of my favorite spots in the entire city!!! I love their onigiri and really appreciate that they have two different sizes to choose from in case you just want a small snack versus a meal! Also their bubble tea is some of the best in the city and they always have yummy flavors and jellies to add in besides the usual tapioca balls and milk tea. My favorite bubble tea from them is their Boyfriend tea which is Mango/Lychee flavor with White Tea! For their onigiri I’d suggest the seaweed, crab, and shrimp tempura!! 🤗
My childhood store. The sunrise drink taste exactly the same; Im glad they didnt change the formula. I was surprised with the size of the cups as they have become smaller for the same price. Would recommend you to tell them to put less ice in your drinks if you are getting a smaller size. Super crowded on a Sunday afternoon, so expect to wait 15 minutes.
Love this place! Not only do they have delicious teas and bobas, they also have a plethora of delicious snacks, from chips to dried fish and cookies. If you’re in the mood for something more substantial they also have great lunch option like onigiri (aka rice balls), as well as tempura, gyozas, and rice bowls. If you’re in the mood for noodles don’t fret: they got you! Shrimp tempura, udon, or pan fried udon - you’ll definitively find something that will suit your taste! If you find yourself walking downtown and you’re thirsty for something yummy, definitely get a tea here, but do not forget to grab at least an onigiri (I recommend the umeboshi one!)
I usually do pickup and on busy days, I would have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes. However for today I waited for about 20 minutes past my pickup time. They had 4 people inside already waiting for orders and people kept coming inside going pass the capacity limit. The one girl at the counter kept taking new orders even though she so backed up. Then somehow, a man that bought food literally 20 minutes after I placed my pickup order got his food before me. Why did they accept my order if they were understaffed? Why did that customer get his food before mine? I get no explanation, just an apology. I was on my lunch break and if I knew they were just greedy and would accept my order without caring about wasting my time, I would have never ordered from them.
The fruit tea is very good and the prices are reasonable. Everything was delicious!!
Rice sandwiches were delicious
Great place to visit! Amazing! Rice Ball was heveanly!! Boba tea on point!!! Will be going back in the summer
1 word, DELICIOUS.
THE. BEST. PLACE. EVER. hands down
The food was good...the sales people need more training
Cute little place. Offer a lot of brewed teas. I got the tealuxe latte and aries latte. They offer dairy alternatives too which is helpful for those that cant do dairy. Also offer premixed bubble drinks that have a non-dairy creamer.
The best Japanese Rice Ball ever! 🍙🧡
I come here whenever Im in the neighborhood. The service is always great and the bubbletea is even better! The chili tea egg onigiri is like the holy grail. The squid onigiri is also always the bomb. If havnt tried them yet I would sai try the pop bubbles. They are so freaking good and such a fun edition to any drink!
Menu is misleading, not all of the milk teas actually come with tapioca even though it says so on the menu🤔😕😐also milk tea was watery and not very flavorful sadly😕
Pretty good bubble tea place
Sooo delicious and very well priced! I got the Yaya Chicken roll and the Boyfriend drink with lychee pops. Highly recommend! Great snack!
My favorite is the Takoyaki onigiri, Boyfriend bubble tea, and Lychee bubble tea.
The rice balls and teas are absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and super cool. They also sell Asian candies, chips and other assortments.
Great bubble tea flavors!
This gentleman was charging his phone while he was watching a TV show! Just in NYC:)
I miss this place so much. Rice cakes and great drinks. The only thing is that I ordered through the app and they didn’t have some of the stuff that I ordered and they cancelled my entire order instead of just giving me what’s available.
Should be called Nono Tea. Tea is very bland.
Tea is bland, and bobas were extremely hard. :(
Fast service, excellent flavor.
Shrimp tempura rice balls (onigiri) are soooo good. Delish sticky rice wrapped in seaweed skin and stuffed with 1shrimp in the small and 2 shrimp in the large and a delish sauce inside as well may be Mayonnaise...but its so yummy!
Super slow. Out of most options. Bad service
As soon as you come in you feel like at home, great options of tea and rice balls to try. It is always fun going in there to grab a bite to go. I love to go there all the time whenever I get the chance to.
I came here last summer and I miss this place so much. Im finally coming back to new york next month and this will be my first stop. yesss im so excited.
Rite in the heart of little italy.
Service is veryyy slow. Expect to wait outside in the cold for over 10 minutes.Update: they kicked me out because of the four person rule. Today I saw 6 people inside and nothing happened. 🤷🏻♂️
Love this place, rice balls are always made fresh and their boba tea is yummy with lots of options for jelly. Take-out only right now
A little slow but still good the price is average and the staff was nice
Awesome onigiris
Came here for riceballs, and they were so delicious! They also had a really good selection of Japanese snacks, although no prices were listed for any of them. Super cute place though, definitely would recommend.
Would give this a 3.5 but rounding up. They have really good onigiri and its perfect for a snack and pit stop when youre in the area. Service is decent. Dont like how the card minimum is $15 because I would rarely spend that much here. I never come alone just for that reason.
Stumbled into this place accidentally, awesome surprise. Great service, prices and food. Ordered the Japanese Onigri, it was delicious. Get the large one, you won’t regret it! Will be coming back often.
Great place for delicious food. Love they food. Fashion and stylist Japan food such as rice balls. Love the naming system for their drinks.
Onigiri at its fast-food finest! The salmon onigiri was the kind of item that is sooo good, one tries (and fails) to make this at home. Another must visit on our next trip to NYC!
Absolutely recommend the shrimp tempura rice ball. One large is enough to be pretty full but I always want two because they are so good. A great place to take out of town guests who want something unique but cheap!
I love sunrise bubble tea!
The best tea drinks
Love tea? This is the place for all tea lovers. Staffs are friendly and nice. Atmosphere feels cozy and comfortable. The drinks are very good and affordable. Their rice balls are amazing. Recommend trying the Japanese, spam rice ball. Overall great place for everyone, will be returning soon.
