Its its not just Foodtown; its Super Foodtown. I love this market, because they have a wide selection of beer, a wide selection of cheese, many kinds of hummus. You can get big stacks of tortillas and all the vegetables and goodness that youd expect from a Whole Foods, but right here in Washington Heights. Theres even a dedicated vegan meat- and cheese-substitute refrigerator case! My only beef is that the ice cream is way too pricey -- but again, a wide selection of fancy awesome stuff to please the gentrifiers along with the long time tenants in the neighborhood. Specials all the time keep it real. Crisp pleasant service at the cash register. Understanding and respectful management. Thank you Super Foodtown. Youre one of the gems of this hood.

Huge, very huge supermarket. They have it all there. My favorite is the natural organic nut butter that you can get on the spot. Keep up the good work guys.

Great market, reasonable pricing, and very kind service. The produce can be lacking sometimes, but the always note if there’s an issue with the supplier due to a storm or drought. And love their alcohol free selection!

Amazing Grocery Store!! Friendly staff, clean, tidy, many healthy options. A must shop when in the Heights.

The market has a happy buzz, and you can sit and enjoy a drink or an ice cream - whatever you fancy - while indulging in a bit of people watching. A couple of hours should be good enough here. There are some souvenir shops there as well, with interesting, typically touristy stuff.

Its a great place to shop but this person Joely be having an attitude with the costumers and she needs to be fired.

My favorite local supermarket. Its rare to find such a spacious and accommodating supermarket in Manhattan, but this Super Foodtown is not only those things but also consistently clean and stocked with staples and special items. Occasionally the escalators arent functional, but there is an elevator to provide access as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful, Ive really enjoyed getting to know them as a regular customer. Im so grateful for this location in my neighborhood.

The whole market place was so huge to move around, so its easier to pick your choices. Everyone was so warm and accommodating in providing all your requests. This cozy supermarket has left the best impressions! Everything that they are selling is not costly. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Store looks great I went to buy Kimchi because there website said they carry it and come to find out they dont that even one of the staff said that Im not the first person to tell them that they searched for something on there website and they dont even carry it. This grocery shop is a hassle-free shop I have ever known. Local and international goods are available here at a very affordable price. This shop is also extremely clean, fruits and vegetables are nicely displayed. Employees are nice and always happy to help and assist throughout. A place where you can buy a good quality of products. Ive been consistently overcharged on sale items and wrong produce codes. I didnt know I have to watch the screens like a hawk to be charged correctly. Now I have to take time out of my day to go and correct this. I hope they are accommodating and that they correct the barcode errors and train their cashiers better. Other reviewers have had similar complaints. Other than that this could be a great market. Get it together.

Its a regular thing for me to go to this grocery store because I always go there at least once a week. The cashers and workers are very helpful, and each section is well coordinated. I strongly recommend this business to you.

This is an inconsistent shopping experience. Some items are difficult to find or unavailable. Almost all the salt, of all things, was sold out today. Almost all the frozen berries were sold out. So not doing a great job with stock. For the second time in a week, I couldnt find Grape-Nuts. Some pricing is in the wrong place. And the checkout lines are quite confusing and somewhat chaotic. On the other hand, my cashier today said, Let me help you with that, proceeding to entirely pack my oversized granny cart. Im only 64 and I felt about 100 when she did that, but she was very sweet. I had no cash on me so didnt tip her, but she deserved one.

Super Foodtown got more high end products. More things than other stores

First and the only decent grocery store in the neighborhood. The only con was that the freezer was broken the other day. The ice cream I bought was all melted. I got a refund but what was sad was no one was going to dump all the possibly melted foods, it seemed. I dont but their frozen food since then. But they have great inexpensive organic foods. So I buy here every week. 2floors. Eat in space on the second floor.

This Foodtown reminds me of the supermarkets in the suburbs. Its clean and pretty spacious for a NYC supermarket. I especially like their meat department because they cut up things well. Theyve also done well with COVID-19 protocols - and they still have late hours. Theres another Foodtown a bit closer to me, but Ive made this my regular store.

Within a half mile radius, this is the most complete supermarket, meats and seafood appears to be fresh, unlike C-town ( which I cant see how they say open). Will probably try to shop here more. You can also find many speciality items here.

When they first opened, this place was something to talk about from buffets, to fresh pizzas, rotisserie chicken, aisle appeared stock and then slowly things began changing and they became nothing more than an overpriced, understocked market

At 7am (daily opening hour), the shelves are fully stocked. EXTREMELY, courteous staff.

Im very pleased that we have a large supermarket with friendly and helpful employees and a large variety of selections items in which to shop. But, on many occasions, the latest being at 2:02 am on November 4th, the Royal Waste Management Service that Super Foodtown Supermarket use to manage their waste and recyclables regularly comes betweem 2am - 3am for pickup. The pickup location is on Fort Washington Avenue, a residential area. The noise is highly disruptive to the residents, many of them elderly, children, etc. Super Foodtown should be more respectful of the locals who frequent their establishment and schedule their waste and recycle pickup at more decent time that does not interfere with the quiet enjoyment of the people who regularly frequent their supermarket.

Fairly consistent level of variety of fresh produce. They a good selection of dairy items and two floors of food including a deli, meat, and fish counter. During the height of Covid-19 scarcity they had toilet paper and a small selection of disinfectants when other places had none. I was also able to get flour and sugar there. Very dependable store with excellent social distancing precautions.

Ive emailed headquarters three times and spoken to the store manager twice about the frequent brand changes on quality food items, the constant sold out status of organic or healthier foods while there are stockpiles of garbage food, and how horrifically merchandised the store is (one cheese case upstairs but others downstairs, tortillas at a few different places, chips everywhere, similar products i.e. pickled jalapeños in 3 different spots in the same aisle, & dozens of examples). Ive lived in this neighborhood for years and have asked them to care for the past 5 years to no avail. Hoping for the day they get a decent manager, or a better store opens in the hood.

Wide variety of foods. Delicious, freshly baked breads and desserts. Courteous staff. Clean and well stocked supermarket.

Big store with a great selection. Sometimes they are out of something, but thats typical anywhere. My roommate is Vegan and he has most all of the options he wants and needs.

Clean and orderly. Like this store because it has the best fruits and vegetables in the area without having to go to Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Even has a butcher and fresh seafood department. Hidden gem.

Great place to get healthy, affordable groceries! I just wish the staff was a little bit more inviting. Ill go up and say hi, and they just grab my stuff and tell me my total without saying a thing. Otherwise, good place!

Very nice sized supermaket, with a great selection of food. The sandwich counter sells boars head meat and there is even a large seating area on the second floor if you wanted to have lunch there.

Love this grocery store! The produce is always fresh, they have a really large selection (always in stock whereas other grocery chains here Im struggling to find certain items often times), and the prices are VERY reasonable. They have some great craft beer here and are always stocked with new varieties each week.

I’ve been a loyal shopper at this location for over three years now, but they are currently NOT taking proper precautions regarding social distancing. They are not enforcing a queue outside to manage how many people are in the store at one time, so the store is overcrowded. Even though they’re making people stand 6ft apart while waiting to check out, the lines often go into the produce section; so, there is no proper way to social distance when you’re shopping in the the produce section during a crowded time and people are also waiting in line in the produce section. I believe this work environment is unsafe for the workers and customers. I confronted an employee about it yesterday, and he mentioned some BS about their square footage and not being able to control who comes in and out, but I’ve been to stores just as big and two stories (like the Trader Joe’s on Bway at 72nd for example) that are enforcing a queue!

I really wanted to love this place but it keeps getting worse every week.1. Be careful about the sale items they offer. Double check...triple check your receipt, you may get charged incorrectly!2. My husband witnessed the produce employees picking out the bad fruits out of the cartons (eg strawberries, berries etc) and taking other berries from the cartons next to it to replace the bad ones they threw out. So if it weighed a pound you are now buying less for the same price.3. Expired items everywhere! Beware!4. The delivery is promised within an hour and I waited 2 1/2hrs for my items! When I called to complain there is no accountability for what happened and they were so eager to hang up on me before even taking my name to double check if my groceries were on their way.This is poor business. After spending our hard earned money every week to get service like this is deplorable!We will be taking our business elsewhere.

The few times Ive come here Ive had no problems....lots of creeps and weirdos frequently this place. I went for sushi 3 times. On the 3rd time I found what seems like hair. I heavily advice not to buy sushi from here.

I love this place, so glad it came to our neighborhood. The main floor has a hot food buffet, pizza, etc, a great news section, fresh produce, all the stuff youd want from a slightly upscale market. But the second floor has all your standard items at regular Washington heights market prices! Really cant laud this place enough.

Super Foodtown is really well run. The employees are all very helpful and friendly. There are two levels and the upper level has a great selection. Everything is really tidy and almost anything you could want is stocked.

Great grocery store. They have a wide variety of produce and a large selection of all kinds of product.

Be careful about the items sale items they offer. Dont be afraid to triple check so you get charged the correct price. 10% for Columbia students we love it there.

The cashiers are always giving you attitude especially the ones that work in the morning. The ones in the afternoon are okay.The supermarket is good I buy here all the time, but please work on your cashier staff.

Amazing supermarket in the Heights. Definitely a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. They have an excellent variety of produce, meats, cold cuts, hot bar, and frozen foods. It’s 2 stories tall, very clean and organized, and they even carry all the hipster products you would find downtown like kambucha. My go to supermarket for sure!

Everything that this neighborhood needed. Great selection quality and hours. Nothing in the neighborhood compares to it. It has a buffet which is pretty standard Spanish/American food catering to the neighborhood. The Deli area is top notch. The bakery area will have most things you might be looking for (beware this section closes early.) The butcher section is awesome, they will cut to your specification. Every type of Ice Cream you would have at W***e F**d. Great selection--two floors worth. I just wish the milk wasnt on the second floor.

Great addition to my area. I love all they have to offer. We finally have a place that has a great selection of gluten free and organic foods. Their hot bar is pretty good too. The only thing i would change is their quality of meat, cant say its that good.

This is a really great place, not only do they have the most popular foods that everyone buys. But they have a decent selection of organic food, so you dont have to go too far to get essential organics that you can just get here. Also its a very big store and the staff is nice.

SUCH a good supermarket. Perhaps my favorite ever. Whenever friends or family visit me....I take them to Super Foodtown. I like it so much. I give them mandatory, unofficial tours. I take them down every aisle, and I point out the deals. 12 limes for a dollar (with $25 purchase), thats a whole lotta limes (with such a reasonable condition)!

A huge store with varieties of foods. They sell raw vegetables, fruits, dairies, cooked food, meat, fish, and other groceries. Price is so so. The fruit section is very good, vegetables are not great in terms of variety. Dairy section is big. Cooked food seems to be left open for long time and you can sense it from their appearance. Sometimes there will be sale on different stuff, but the amount one can save per article is not very much.

So let’s be clear, this beautiful market is here To accommodate our “ new neighbors “ as of recent years. However, the old neighborhood shops and supports this market abundantly. As a Chef, I love it here for many reasons wider varieties, etc. The only sad part is their so-called store intel( security) is racist! And because they’re obviously not properly trained, its show like a SORE THUMB! I myself have spoken to the parties when it effected me directly and will not stand for it. So hope y’all reading this super foodtown, get it together! Cause it will not be tolerated!!At all.....

Not bad for a two level supermarket.Fresh produce, bread and a hot food bar is on the first floor.Take the elevator or escalator upstairs for the meat market/butcher counter, frozen foods, dairy and plenty of organic foods & spices.The staff is mostly bilingual, Professional, friendly and helpful.
