Nice grocery store for overall stuff. And especially for Korean goods, its very authentic and has good quality. Surely other Asian products available too.. I dropped by to get some beverages and snacks to eat at hotel room. As same what I had in Korea. And similar level as other H marts in other states. (Actually it was bigger than my expectation.)
A good place to find Korean/Asian food in Manhattan. However it is no match to the suburban H Marts.
Nice shop especially for Korean food and products. The shop is clean and organized.
It’s got everything you’d ever want from a marketplace except this ones Asian based which makes it even better. All types of Asian vegetables/fruit to Asian goodies you name it. I recommend :)
I love this Korean store. It just looks small outside but the inside is spacious. They even have great sashimi selections if you crave for raw stuff. Chopsticks and packed soy sauce are given for free for sashimi. Very reasonable prices.
The ready made Korean food isnt as it was once fifteen years ago. Sad ...
Great place to get your Korean groceries and treats. They also have ready to eat food and rolls if you want a quick meal or snack.
They are pretty busy but the lines are quick and the staff works fast. They have a wide selection on Asian goods(as you would expect from a H-mart), and their prepared foods are just fine what you would expect from a market.
Good selection but really, really overpriced. Much better to venture into Chinatown or parts of flushing. I guess you pay for the convenience, unfortunately.
Small but great selection of Korean and international groceries. Convenient since its in Ktown and midtown.
It was an amazing experience first time there love it amazing people
I try not to go there as much as possible although it is in a very convenient location and they have almost everything I need but the number of workers in the aisles are more than the customers. It is already a very small and stuffed store and with those unnecessary number of workers walking around, stacking, pushing carts at any time of the day is making the place claustrophobic. They should arrange working hours in the store .
My go-to store for all things Asian! Love the fresh meats and vegetables as well. Prices are reasonable and their shelves are always well-stocked.
Great selection, consistently good Quality, but relatively high prices when compared to NJ H-marts, though I suppose that part can be said of most of the NYC ones
I would love to give this particular location zero stars if it were possible. I came into the store and picked up a basket. Security comes rushing over and ask me to sanitize my hands, I complied. Then he asks me to leave my shopping cart at the front. Leave the cart, not check it. I asked it he had a ticket to give me so when I leave I can present the ticket so I could retrieve my cart after shopping. He said no. I said, you want me to leave my cart unattended, no ticket to identify thats my property? I told him you dont know me, meaning anyone could say it was theirs. I told him I would not be shopping there. And left.I will not waste my time with this location. The location Uptown is better.IF YOU WANT CUSTOMERS TO CHECK THEIR BAGS, YOU NEED TO HAVE A PROPER CHECKING SYSTEM.
Better get your vaccinated card proof ready or its going to be hard to get in. Prices are high, but food was packaged well, workers are fast, and there is alot of people shopping here still. Id go back.
Its a good store. I liked it. It has a good selection.
Probably smallest H-Mart but given its convenient location in midtown, it is well run and well stocked. Always clean and neat, hand sanitizer at door. Im five subway stops away but tend to buy too much and have to carry a ton all the way home. Should really bring a cart next time.
Small, very nice supermarket for groceries and snacks.Wide selection of products for such a small store. It’s quite expensive comparing to supermarkets in Chinatown. You can find here instant noodles and snacks, as well as fruits and vegetables, frozen dinners and frozen seafood, kitchen tools, beauty products, drinks, huge variety of tea, prepared food as onigiri and sushi rolls.Check out is always speedy.
Nice Asian supermarket located in Korea Town. Has a good selection of Korean and Japanese products. Staff are helpful.
Great place to get some Korean foodfruitFresh fish 🐠Specialty meatsSnacksTeasIce cream and much moreAll types of Ramin noodles too 🥒🥦🌽🥕🍏🍓🍒🍎🍉🍆🌰🍆🍗🥩🥓🍔🌭🥄🥢🥢🍜
Smaller version of Hmart but carried decent variety of side dishes. Prices were standard, clean, neat and quick check out with all 6 cashiers on deck. Most of all, loved having the security guard at the door. I will most definitely return for more korean groceries.
Fantastic local Korean grocery store with a nice selection of frozen, fresh and packaged goods. When Im in NYC and need kimchi, Ill be coming here.
Good variety of Asian food and beverages, good service within the covid guidelines.
I like their fresh shrimp. Thats what I come back for mostly. I also like their siomai but some items are pricey.
Decent selection for a small store. Right at the base of K-Town near 34th street. Hot/prepared food also available and all the side dishes for a great take home meal + side dishes. They have a great selection of Japanese goods as well.
Great place, lots of things to buy. From rice cookers to cookies and many different kinds of Ramen. Amazing place I felt welcomed too, the line to pay moved fast and crew was very polite and nice.
Well-stocked Korean grocery store with ample selections for all your Korean food staples. I was looking for the traditional red chili pepper flakes, or Gochugaru, to make Kimchee, and found a good selection of different brands and sizes of bags. There is also a huge selection of teas, rice, seaweed, fish, spices, you name it. Definitely the place to go to for all your Korean cooking and eating needs.
Items are a bit overpriced but decent options for Korean food ingredients, snacks and products. One thing that annoyed me and my friend the most was that the security always forced us to pick up a basket even if we said we are just browsing and not buying anything or only buying one small thing that we need. There’s no need to use the basket and drag it all over the place in such tiny and crowded market with always a lot of people so close to you. It makes the crowded market even more crowded. We understand and appreciate you ask everyone to sanitize hand, which is great! But we don’t understand why we were forced to hold a basket if we don’t need to use one. The security was also rude and demanding at us to use a basket, which made us not feel good the first moment we stepped into the store.
Asian markets ftw! And this one is particularly good
Very unpleasant shopping today. I bought some things here. After I paid the money, the cashier asked me if I needed a bag. I said no need! Because I brought my shopping bag! ! ! I put things in a bag. I bought meat. I want to put the meat in another bag, so I will pick up the things I bought in another supermarket in my shopping bag! Put the meat in, and the uncle at the door asked me to show him all my shopping bag when I went out! Oh my God! I cooperated with him to take out all my things! He finished checking my bag! No problems were found! Im sorry and didnt say a word! I feel humiliated. If you bring your own shopping bags, you will be checked. I suggest this supermarket set up a locker at the door? When you go to this supermarket together, it’s best to be empty-handed and not to have anything on your hands. Because if you have other things on your hands, you will be checked
Its very organized and easy to find EXACTLY what youre looking for! And by exactly I mean rice cookers, utensils, lunch boxes, fruits, veggies, snacks, and more from Korea. Although things may be on the pricier side, its worth it if youre willing to travel for a while to make your own Korean food. Id come here again if the trip wasnt so annoying 😭 (I had to take the train for an hour and carry groceries back home.... Id just ask someone with a car and get it delivered tbh)
Small, clean, organized and fresh. This tells you that a supermarket need not be big, it only needs to be well managed and well stocked. Products are continuously monitored and changed. The meat and seafood section are great and the merchandise are categorically arrange according to needs. Great finds of many things commonly not available on your local supermarkets.
It was interesting I bought a lot of things you can not find on other places around NYC, best place to find asian food and stuff
An absolute GEM! Authentic Korean as well as Asian, American, & others! Price is very reasonable and quality unmatched!! Lacking abit on the service side of things......
Great variety and really quite extensivebut really expensive
Things are a little pricey, but thats a setback for being in Manhattan. Also the selections are good, but you can get more at the bigger locations in Queens. Again, another setback for being in Manhattan. Other than, it is a good Asian supermarket in midtown, which is really hard to get.
Love this Korean chain, but not too happy about the super-high prices. Good selection of meats, fish, & Asian goods, & convenient location. Usually crowded, but line is fast.
Upon buying their pre-packaged lunch from a fridge, there were various stickers saying hot-food friendly or something equally ambiguous. While checking out, I asked the cashier if she could heat it up and after a lot of back-and-forwards with her older colleague, she told me that they didnt have a microwave. All that discussion was just about whether they had a microwave? Surely she wouldve seen it already, if she works there. They were just deciding whether theyd use it.Upon my disappointment, she then said in a sympathetic tone that the food was fairly warm already. Are you serious? I was holding it in my hands as she was saying this. I got it out of a refridgerated display. Why did I even ask to reheat it if it was already hot?If youre not going to reheat it, fine, thats your decision, but lying to me? Repeatedly? Makes me question why I ever donate blood.
I love this store everything Korean can be found here....their meats & veggies extremely fresh...they also have a nice section of US items as well....but hands down great Korean market.
I didnt get a receipt with a list of all the stuff that I bought. Just a simple overall receipt.
Alot of Asian foods and ingredients to make soba noodle night so homey! Some cute appliances you would find abroad and specially candies
When we first entered, we were a bit discouraged because of the long queue- but we were able to find what we wanted, namely shaoxing wine and lao gan ma, and once we got in queue we were able to go to checkout very fast.
Love this place!! just a bit cramped up if i do say so myself but otherwise it’s a pretty convenient store.
Very efficient, based off the location they have what customers living around this area need.
Huge selection of Asian cuisine and the line always goes fast!
Saw new exciting things not sure what they were but since my daughter knows some Korean she helped me out alotI just got the different flavored oreos strawberry and salted caramel
Good selection of products you cant commonly find. I specifically come to buy instant coffee. The produce is a bit pricey but its always fresh and big so I think its worth it.
I frequent this store and As women of color they follow you around like a thief every single time. Super annoying. Will be finding a new asian market.
I love to shooping at K-town totally full selection
I go to this store often. They don’t have the best customer service but they have a wide variety of products. Then last week, I bought 2 packs of these noodles and didn’t opened it until yesterday. One pack went moldy even before I opened it. As indicated on the package, it’s way before the expiration date. I took this picture to talk to the staff in the store without having a lot of expectation but the experience turned out to be worse than what I expected.I showed the guy at the cashier this picture. He said that I needed to bring a receipt. I explained I bought them last week but didn’t open until yesterday, so I threw away the receipt already. He insisted that I needed the receipt. I explained that it’s the product they sell and even the price label is the same, why would I make the trip to the store to make this up if this didn’t happen. Then he asked me if I bought it at this store. Yes! That’s what I’ve been talking about the whole time! He then asked if I have the product. I said no, I threw it away yesterday already. He said I needed to bring the product. So, I should keep the moldy noodles from yesterday and bring it to the store? He responded: “did you call?” I said no, who should I call? He said you needa call before you come.Ok, I gave up here. This conversation was so ridiculous and I don’t think he knew what he’s talking about. I didn’t come with a high expectation but this conversation is way too ridiculous. Worst customer service
I bought a spicy fish soup and noticed that there are lots of flies while I was eating. This fish soup was already prepared and I just needed to boil. It is originally spicy soup, but I removed all spicy. It is unbelievable and I will do whatever necessary to done. The large bowl of soup went directly to the toilet, and my dinner was destroyed.
Disorganized to the customers. As I went to the cashier after he called me, a women cut in and put her things on the cashier’s desk. She said she comes earlier, and look at me angrily, but actually she was NOT IN LINE. A man was in front of her looking for stuff in dairy products, and she just stood after the man, while I have no idea what she is doing. I ask if the gentleman was in line and he said no. The cashier called me so I step forward while the woman cut in and put my things beside. None of the staff give me any explanations, but Iet me standing there embarrassedly. I felt I was humiliated for the experience.
Its always nice to go & see whats new in there, they have a good variety of things & the checkout is really quick
Honestly, there are another HMarts more well distributed.
Cool store if you want to see a wide range of asian products. Front door staff aren’t that pleasant. The store is pretty small so aisles are tight. There are more authentic pleasant asian grocery stores nearby.
It is a great Asian supermarket. The shelves are well stocked, although they are cramped and you feel a little claustrophobic if it is a busy time of day.
Love the selection of produce they have that I cant find anywhere else
The prices are crazier than in Canada, that says a lot. ALso a lot of not so good reviews about security and sanitary situation... meh
Just a regular Korean Supermarket thats been in K town for many years. No life changing experience here.HONEST REVIEW.
Alot of good options of different types of foods and services were quick
I had the worst shopping experience here today. I go shopping here every week. Today the cashier checked out my food and threw my food to cashier table. The staff next to the cashier also threw my food into the shopping bag. If you have manager, Please give them service training. Its the most expensive and worst shopping experience in the world. I really hate this place.
Tremendous selection of products, the only thing dont go at peak hour. It gets crammed
Always an amazing selection of food and drinks.
HMart is like a one-stop shop, you can find a lot of goodies there and some surprises too! Glad I went there. Its just a little cramped but its worth browsing the shelves, the fridge, the cooked food, the sweets. The staff is friendly and helpful too! Dont hesitate to ask...
Love the store, just not this location. Im going to stick with the location in Westchester on Central Ave, much, much cheaper.
A bit on the pricey side but it had a great selection
A great selection of good Korean food in midtown. Slightly on the expensive side but thats as to be expected considering the location
I specifically say no bag, they still charged me for the bag and packed before i realized. Items here are more expensive than H mart at other location.
Great super market with lots of cool ingredients and snacks, all while not being super expensive
Great place thats bigger on the inside. For a store in Manhattan it has a great selection of asian snacks and groceries
I, a white woman, have visited this store many times and was always fineToday I visited the store with my Black friend, who was harassed at the door by a clerk - he was forcing a basket on her even though I had already taken a basket. He proceeded to push the basket on her even after she politely declined.Following this situation he kept following her through the store until she asked him if he was following her, which is when he stopped.I will not be coming back and will make sure to file a formal complaint!Do better HMart!
Great location, very well stocked for its size and the check out is fast and efficient. I stop by at least once or twice a week.
I check my reciept later and knew that they add a beverage that I never bought. Check the receipt right away. Their receipt doesnt show the price easily so they can cheat you
I went with my family to buy soups and teas. I was of course expecting a regular normal shopping experience. If that was the case then I wouldnt be writing a review. The employees were courteous but the security guard was following us. I know retail and know how to follow but it was so obvious. My kid sisters bag was searched. It left a sour taste to what wouldve been a pleasant shopping experience. Will never come back. The other Hmart I frequent doesnt do this.
I went there a few times and there is a good amount of asian food. I really enjoyed shopping in the Korea Town district!
Love this place! So diverse and friendly staff!
Great grocery store for Korean food, snacks, and drinks.
I love this Korean market because they have Everything in there !!U can buy so many things for good prices!🤗😉
I got these delicious Kit Kats from H Mart. Theyre pricey but worth it. Thank you H Mart for being there. One star off H Mart for their prices being high, although I guess they cant help it since they have to pay NYC rent. Although Woorijip pays NYC rent and they are reasonable, so... ::shrugs:: Also: the Kit Kats are 5/5 stars. Yum.
