I went in to find books about making childrens quilts. The staff member was very helpful. I didnt find any books that suited my needs. However the young lady provided me with kits that were PERFECT for the quilts I wanted to make, especially a Unicorn Quilt pattern kit. I also bought some squares & a bag kit. Every visit, I always find wonderful things. Thanks for the great customer service. If you quilt, youve got to check this store out!!

Everytime I have gone, never has anyone not been helpful. I get nothing but kindness and professionalism without any negativity.Classes: I have taken three classes and all were amazing. The instructors are generous with time in explaining details and helping me get through errors. They make quilting seem easier than I expected because I never felt belittled.If you get lost, the store is on 37th Street across from hotels and Cafe 37, but is easy to find.

Great quilt shop! Had a large quilt, that was too big for me to handle, quilted here on the long-arm. She did a fabulous job! Excellent customer service. Nice, but limited, selection of fabrics. Some nice kits!

Gotham is a delightful little quilt shop in the garment district. I love the fabric they had for sale. My three stars are based on the fact that I was in the shop with my husband. There were 2 other customers in the shop, yet no one came to talk with us. I expected a little more interaction.*** I returned to Gotham Quilts a few days ago and had a completely different experience. My daughter in law and I were greeted by the woman working at the counter, and she was both helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our stop there a great deal.

Friendly, and great selection of modern fabrics!

This Charming quilt store is down in the Garment District. It has not been there for too long but is well-organized with an excellent series of classes. It concentrates on Modern quilting with bright and cheerful patterns and colors. Quilts are are on the walls and very tasteful and the staff is Young cheerful and very knowledgeable.

Love this place. Beautiful fabric. Very knowledgeable staff. Wonderful quilting ideas. The best part about this shop is that you dont have to live in New York to shop there. You can just go online and shop. Fabric and items are shipped really quickly and are nicely packaged.

Great indie store for quilt lovers, now right on the first floor!They sell patterns, tools, and most importantly, great fabric and even kits for specific quilts. Great presents for a quilt creator in your family.They also have space on second level where they teach classes.Staff is always friendly and very helpful and can recommend the right tool for the job.

This store is a hidden gem for anyone who loves sewing! They’ve got a stylish collection of fabrics (no frumpy ‘old lady’ stuff here) - plus sewing tools, quilt kits & sewing patterns. They also teach sewing classes. (I took a class on free motion quilting - it was great!)The owners (Ivete & Andrea) can give you really good tips for how to make awesome quilts. Don’t be shy about asking them questions – they’re both super-friendly & they’re really happy to help.

Relatively small, but Im from Texas where we have a bit more space. Nice selection of bolts and fat quarters. Staff seemed very nice and helpful.

I took a longarm quilting class here. Jen, the teacher, was warm, knowledgeable, and invited confidence in the two of us student to make friends with the longarm. although it felt daunting at first, by the end i was free motion quilting with ease. the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, and the beautiful selection of fabrics was very tempting. five stars!

A cozy shop on the 6th floor. Their prints are all contemporary, with a good collection of solids & most of the basic quilting supplies you would need.The clerk was very helpful and patient with me when I came in an hour before close and started tearing the place apart. I imagine it would be tough to get together fabrics for a big project if there were more than a few people in the shop.The clerk also spoke highly of her bosses & how they treat her, which always makes me more likely to give a shop my business.Ill make this my regular place for quilting fabrics.

I love shopping at Gotham Quilts. They have so many beautiful fabrics solids as well as prints from many of the top designers. Going there again tomorrow to buy some new fabric. Can’t wait

I love the fabrics that the store has. However, it is somewhat expensive and they only have a small variety of supplies. Its on an upper floor and you need to be buzzed into the building.

Gotham Quilts is a delightful, small fabric store located in the garment district. Their specialty is quilting cottons-mostly those designed by Modern fabric designers. They have a wonderful selection that include everything from beautiful cross weave solids to the latest from Charlie Harper and Tula Pink. They will be adding classes shortly for a small number of students. In addition, they have a great website where you can find what you are looking for by designer or manufacturer.You can find the shop on the 6th Floor at 40 West 37th Street, but dont worry-there is an elevator that will whisk you right to it.
