One of, if not my top, fav fabric stores! I buy from all over but B&J always has the most beautiful, quality fabrics and the prices are amazing for quality. If you know fabric, this is the store for you!Also, I live in Toronto so I regularly order online and the orders always get to me either the next day or 2 days after. Its the best service ever and makes ordering easy, and ordering swatches easy, too. Since I know I wont have to wait long for my order to arrive. Love this place so much!

Still beautiful fabrics.Even though the samples are individually labeled, the sections are not always, so it feels a bit like thrift shopping. They still have champagne prices though.🤔 II liked it more when you could SEE the fabrics on bolts or hung in long sections on hangers.😕

B&J has such a wonderful selection of unique fabrics. They carry common fabrics too, but the charm of this fabric store is their one of a kind pieces, and specialty fabrics. meticulously organized. super clean. friendly and helpful staff

Yshai was quite knowledgeable, helped us connect with the right embroiderer and assisted us with creating a proper embroidered jacquard for our organization.

Love Purl Soho and the lovely patterns from Purl Bee. Have always enjoyed visiting the store and the website is easy to use. I love the B&J Fabrics line of yarns and Purl Sohos own line of yarns. Truly my go to location for B&J Fabrics.

Large selection of high quality fabrics including Italian, Japanese, Liberty of London, Harris tweed. Really like that they have fabric samples on hangers for easier browsing. Prices generally seem reasonable. I did not find the staff friendly which was weird and kind of uncomfortable. Not one person asked me if I needed help and the store wasnt busy. Not a big deal for me personally but might be for other shoppers.

A quiet oasis in the madness of the garment district with a fantastic selection of fabrics displayed in easily viewed panels and the most liberal swatch policy I have encountered to date. Service was welcoming and immediate. Totally surprised by other reviews of unfriendly staff because i was treated like royalty and I didnt even buy anything.

Love the selection of fabrics & very organized. However, did not like the staff. I was getting swatches for work & when I asked for help to get swatches, she was not happy about it. As soon as I asked, she rolled her eyes with her hand on waist. She was rushing me & walking away I had to ask if I can get one more swatch. Whenever I am there, It makes me uncomfortable to ask for help. Feels like I am almost bothering them. dont know if I want to go back.

A great selection of garment fabric, particularly of natural fibers. I found the pricing to be fair for the quality, which is my criteria for a good value. Most of the fabric is manufactured in; Italy, Switzerland, the UK, Australia, and Japan.The staff was friendly and agreeable.I will be back on my next NYC trip.

I came in looking for a specific print. I was immediately helped and pointed to the exact rack it would be on. Once I found it, I was promptly helped again at the cutting table, and at the register. I didnt have time to look around which would have been fun. Great service experience

If you need zippers, this store is the best. I checked other stores around, but this one has the best selection. They have a huge selection of zippers and other stuff. I checked the prices of other stores too and this place has the best prices and their quality is pretty good.

I love B&J Fabrics. I have had such polite help and have found amazing fabric that I could never find in another store. My particular favorite is the Japanese woven cotton selection. I have brought visiting friends here and they also love it.

I unfortunately cannot give B&J any positive rating. Sure they have a relatively decent selection of fabrics, but this not the place for you to go if you are not rolling in $$$. After I left (feeling slightly defeated at how expensive it was) I went to M&J trimmings I asked how much their yards of tulle was. B&J...$15.95. M&J...$3.95. I almost started crying and felt like I had my bank account was stolen. I also can’t say the staff was the friendliest. When I asked if someone could help me figure out how much tulle is need, she simply said she didn’t know and I’d have to estimate and figure it out myself. I will never go back to B&J again.Edit: after getting home and calling the store to ask their refund policy, I talked to an extremely nice young man who though he did not guarantee any sort of refund, but was just so pleasant and polite it took much of the jaded edge away. So whoever you were that I talked to, you are lovely and a pleasure in the customer service industry:)

Their fabric selection is amazing. They allow swatching for fashion company. There are actually nice people around here, you just have to be lucky and ask the nice ones.

Never have I been so offended by the lack of common manners and decency. I am beyond belief by the cunning, rude and disrespectful staffs. Not all of them are like that but there is a good amount of staff that really lacks manners and respect for other peoples time.People who take their time out of their day to arrive earlier are not only treated with zero patience and courtesy, but they also enjoy cunningly watching people make a mistake just to pounce on it when decisions were made 5 minute later than expected. It is only 5 minutes in compared to the 1 hour time we spend kindly abiding by all your rules, are our time not valuable as well? There will be no more visits to B&J Fabrics. Honestly, you are better off at Mood Fabrics or any other shop than here.

Unnecessarily rude employees are snide, patronizing, and intentionally deceitful. You can be the only one in the store and they will still act like youre attacking them when youre simply asking a question. Because the selection isnt actually better than anything you can find at Mood where the employees are polite, kind, and welcoming, there is no reason I can think of to go to this fabric store.

My favorite curated selection of fabrics in NY. I could spend days here going through their organized material. It’s more expensive than most fabric stores but it’s the best selection and you don’t have to go through messy rolls stacked on top of each other.

B&J Fabrics is a NYC icon for high quality fabrics and accessories for decades. This family owned shop located on the 2nd floor of the famous Fashion Center Building is quintessential Garment Center District at its finest.

Try to buy some fabric on-line. Paid via my Visa. It took them several days to acknowledge my purchase and only after I called to verify that they even gotten my order. The bank was the only way I could tell that they had taken the money. The girl handling my order said that she was dealing with it right then but had no idea of why I had not received an email confirming my order. So other than that, I thought everything was good, until today( five days AFTER my call) when I got a call from the same girl telling me that they could not fulfill my order because they did not have enough of the fabric and they did not expect to ever get the fabric again. I cancelled the order for several reasons. One..I do not like being lied to, and two, it should NEVER take that long to fulfill a customers order. I checked my bank and I still do not have my money back from them. NOT HAPPY.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! I was having a staff member cut a piece of fabric that I was going to purchase and he suddenly stopped. He asked if I were a student. I replied yes and he threw the pair of scissors at me and it hit me in the eye. When I was trying to speak to the other staff about what had just happened I was completely ignored. I was hurt and in pain. Should have called the police. DO NOT GO HERE! STAFF IS VIOLENT AND ABUSIVE TO PAYING CUSTOMERS. NOT A WAY TO GET PEOPLE TO COME BACK.

Great selection for a multitude of tasks. On the pricy side. Considering i know the whole sale on many. Staff is serious but if youre friendly theyre friendly back. I assume they deal with nut cases and people who think they are important because staff is dry. How ever back to being friendly, theyve always been pleasant. Good place to start projects because theyll give you a list that has all the trimming and other shops youre probably after, and theyre super knowledgeable.

The prices at B&J are overly exorbitant and the fact that they dont offer coupon codes or sales is offensive to me as a consumer. Their site would be so much better if they offered more description of the fabrics beyond just fiber content.

Huge store with a huge selection of fabric! I found what I needed. I was a little confused how to get there though. Go in and pass by Starbucks, go to the 2nd floor using the elevator and its on one end of the floor. There were a lot of people working there, but they do all seem pretty busy with many customers so you dont get that much attention. However, it was quite enough for me. I definitely recommend this store!
