If youve ever watched the show How to Make it in America this is it. For anyone that wants to own a business in apparel making like my mind was blown away completely from this experience. From the mass amounts of available options to the ability to negotiate pricing this was by far an adventure worth taking.

Absolutely love spandex house when did the last few fabric stores that really caters to their customers and make sure they try to get them what they need this is a thriving fabric store its also good to know what you want or at least have a sample of it because as much as they take care of their customers they are placing orders from their website all day everyday

This place has a huge selection so I definitely recommend going. However they could do better with customer service. I took a while to get someone’s attention for help.

I make custom dance costumes in Australia.I’ve been shopping online with Spandex House for a few years now. The quality of spandex is always excellent. I love that there is always new products being added every time I Shop and the huge variety of solid colours is great.I live in Australia, when I place an order it comes within 2 days so it’s so convenient and a lot faster than Australian shipping times.Customer service is a 10/10 Never had a problem with communication via email or phone. Favorite yarn shop ever. Id been following the Purl Soho blog forever and made a point to shop here as soon as I moved to Manhattan. They have an absolutely gorgeous selection of yarn, thread, tools, fabric, and resources. The prices are not cheap but they sell only quality products. I still appreciate the way they treated Me as new comer.Other than that I do not know how their business work but Edward was great, showed me the process to meeting the owner. Seemed like he was very humble gentle man, therefore successful. I am thankful they gave me opportunity.

I had a great ordering experience from Spandex House! I was able to get what I needed very quickly, and even though they were out of stock of one of the items I ordered, I was able to order a suitable substitute with no problems! Additionally, when the out of stock item was back in stock, a customer service representative called me to ask if I still needed that item. I was impressed with their professionalism and courtesy!

2 full floors of Spandex (stretchy fabric), all at reasonable / economic prices. Ive been here several times over the past 10+ years, & NEVER been shorted on fabric (given less fabric than I ordered).1st floor is prints & specialty fabrics, & 3rd floor is solid (shiny, matte, mesh) (2nd floor is office space). Employees are very helpful, but not pushy.This time, I was looking for cupcake print Spandex for leggings, & they had 2 prints to select from!

Usually I have a good experience here, but sadly they refused to sell me a 1/2 yard of fabric even though I insisted I would pay with cash. I explained it would be a waste if I bought the full yard, but they still refused to sell me a half yard. It was frustrating because it was exactly what I needed and I didnt understand why they wouldnt. Im a frequent customer, but I was still refused. I decided not to buy it at all and left feeling quite bad about it all. Maybe Im wrong here, but I would think some money is better than no money at all. I put my foot down and didnt give into buying a full yard that I did not need. I took my money elsewhere. Not happy. Ive bought yards and yards of fabric here in the past. Thanks for wasting my time.

I have ordered fabric over the years and have never had a problem until now. When I contacted them about my problem they were not willing to help. They only offered a small discount and then charged me a lot for shipping my replacement. The customer service is terrible and they have lost a customer.

Im a swimwear designer in South Florida. I have been doing business with Spandex House for over 10 years. The quality of product, service of the staff, speed of delivery, and price are all top notch. The next time Im in New York, I want to shop in person, but until then, the website is excellent. Should you need swatches, they happily oblige.

I love the new website. I love how quickly I receive my orders now. The shipping is a little high but I love that you can now see the shipping cost before you complete your order. The new website still has some kinks to get out but overall I love the new website and ease of finding products. I will be a long time customer for sure.

Big variety on spandex fabrics for a good price.

I have ordered from spandex house for years. They have always been great to work with and very quick to ship. Also, they charge a lot less for 3 day shipping than other Lycra websites

Went to their Loft store to buy some fabric I could use as an aerial silk. They guy working was super nice and helpful. Also it was soooo cheap! They sold it $3/lb. It wouldve cost me way more somewhere else. The only downside is parking in the area.

They will completely screw you on shipping. I paid $50 To get something in two days and fed ex. What they don’t tell you is they don’t do Saturday deliveries, Even though fed ex does, they say you have to specify you want it delivered on Saturday in the comments. Never heard of that. Second of all don’t order it after 12 PM because they won’t ship it out until the following day so when you buy two days. You’re really only going to get it in the shortest time which is four days. Their fabric is incredible but their customer service is very lacking

I have ordered in the past and my orders have come quickly and for the most part, correct. This time however, I am not happy with the service. I got spandex and mesh that didnt match. When I called I was told that I should have asked for them to match (you would think that if you order the same colors they would do that...or call). After going around and around about dye lots, I asked the man to take the mesh to the material. He agreed that they didnt match. I asked him to pair the mesh with the matte finished spandex of the same color and he assured me that they were a much better match. After having to pay shipping costs AGAIN, I got the piece of material and it was the exact same color that didnt match the first time (only matte instead of shiny). Ill keep both pieces of material....but I will never order from them again.

Great selection of Spandex/Lycra, perfect for making (horse) riding tights. Customer service easy to work with when something I ordered was out of stock. The only thing negative I have is that on the new web site, you cant order in half yard increments and I wound up with a lot more fabric than I really needed for my projects. Apparently if you order off the old web site, you can still order in half yard increments. I find it confusing to deal with two web sites.

Love this place! The customer service is really great and I love the prints they have. I think the prices are a tad bit cheaper as well. Im definitely a loyal customer.

I got all that I needed to make my costume

I was there getting some swatches for the design team and our company is definitely gonna get some fabric next week. However there was one guy on the second floor was super unfriendly. He told me I was only allowed to get three swatches, no more. They lost a company order. Also, some guys there are not familiar with their fabric. I showed them a swatch from my college who definitely got it from there and they had no idea which one was that.

We took the plunge and traveled from Hawaii to NYC to shop for our Brazilian cut, Hawaiian style bikini line. Wow, the choices were endless, and the service was super friendly. We must have pulled out 100 bolts! The crew packaged everything up right there and shipped it home for us, super convenient!

This location has all the lovely shinny mermaid scales fabric we mermaids could want, good prices, But they lack when it comes to their staff, rude unprofessional, not eager to help at all, salesman was bothered and caught an attitude when i asked for help, rushing and then rudely walked away while i was showing him which fabrics i wanted! So thats the last time i go there. Theres the photo of beautiful fabric i was showing him i wanted and he walked off!

Great selection of fabrics at reasonable prices. And it arrives in a timely manner... usually.Only two stars because of their lack of organization and the skipping over of my order. (I placed two orders the same afternoon, only the second one came.) The missing order was never even processed. Now I have to pay $$$ to have it overnight-ed because they wont take responsibility for the lack of organization and error on their end. I wont be using them for anything else in the future if I can help it.

I ordered some fabric from them for a super urgent project that needed to get shipped out right away. I called them to see whether they could make sure it shipped immediately and they were very friendly, responsive and on top of it. I got the shipping notification shortly afterward. Havent gotten the fabric yet but given the great customer service I experienced today, Im not worried about it.

I cant say enough about this store, everyone is very helpful, they just have so many different and unique fabrics and, I bought in a extremely small piece of fabric to match a dress, one the worker was up and down a ladder until I lost count but he said Ill match this and he did, talk about impressive, rare for NYC.

I could not be more happy with the service I have received. my contact Mizan was extremely helpful and my order was processed and on its was to Australia the same day as the order was placed. FedEX a delivered it to my door 2 days later. amazing service.

I love the fabrics. The only thing is sometimes the fabrics have a different stretch even though they say 4 way stretch. The fabric type should be completly described.

By far the worst experience Ive ever had with a fabric supply company. The final price not only didnt match the invoice I was sent, it was almost double without any notice whatsoever, until I got a call that the card I paid with wasnt working (I pay with a prepaid card for all online transactions so that I cant be overcharged). Not to mention the terrible lackadaisical service I got every time I called to try to get everything straightened out, clearly these people dont care about their paying customers. I will never consider doing business with this company ever again.

Awesome selection but be prepared to dig and helo yourself. Still 5 stars for price and selection. Its all spandex so quality is middling but when you need to dress up like a mermaid or a 70s porn star, thisnplace cant be beat.

Ordering online is a bit of a mess. The shipping charges are really high, and you dont know how much youll pay in shipping until they charge your card. My order was just crumpled and shoved into a small box. They got my order right however, so thats a plus!
