I sent in an image of 1/2 cttw diamond ring that I was looking to sell. The company reached out to me and requested I schedule an in person appraisal be done. I brought all of the paperwork with me detailing the item and it’s care over the time I’ve owned it. I purchased the ring a little over a year ago for $1k from a large reputable jeweler. During the brief appointment, no official appraisal was made (though it had been promised in both email and text message) and the gentleman proceeded to tell me the piece was worth nothing but that he would pay me $100 to take it off my hands. I traveled nearly an hour to the appointment, which lasted less than 5 minutes, and it resulted in no appraisal and an insulting offer. The state of the office itself is in shambles. It is clear to me that this is a shady organization looking to rip sellers off so they can maximize their profits. Take your jewelry elsewhere.
