The butcher forced me to buy the entire chicken...perhaps he did not understsnd english and made the chicken cuts pretty big, even on requesting to make smaller pieces...had to request again to get them cut smaller at the checkout counter, however, still end up with larger pieces...not satisfied, better to look else where to get good quality meat

Good place for the African market products

Ive been here twice, hoping this would turn out to be a great neighborhood butcher. It definitely caters to the local Senegalese clientele, which is great, but unfortunately it will probably not appeal to anyone else. I was shocked at the smell--the back smells like a barnyard, though I did not see any live animals. The first time I bought leg of lamb, which they sliced up to order on the bandsaw. It was fine, but quite expensive and the clerk at the cash register was not going to give me any change until I asked for my eight dollars. The second time I bought a bag of beef bones for soup (which many places dont sell, so I was thrilled). They were also fairly expensive, considering that they were just bones. When I got them home, I found that they were full of animal hair and smelled gross. I tried making broth anyway, but it was disgusting. Apparently halal does not mean good or clean butchering practices. Ill look elsewhere!
