I initially purchased my dress from the White Gown in June 2019 and am only now getting to wear it in two weeks due to multiple covid postponements. I had already started my alterations process when the city shut down in March 2020 for my original May 2020 wedding. Despite starting and stopping the process multiple times and many hurdles I am very happy with my dress! Laura the new owner is absolutely fantastic and was so helpful and accommodating during this process. She is consistent, responsive and very professional. Elizabeth who works in the boutique currently is incredibly sweet and positive. Their new location/ showroom is also super nice. Would highly recommend!

I had an appointment with Daniella in February as Id first started dress shopping and she was amazing. The shop had such a good range of styles and price points, and Daniella was incredibly patient even as I began to like gowns I hadnt originally been interested in. She is very good at her job and pulled gowns I would never have thought of, and was able to articulate what I liked better than I could. I would recommend any bride make a visit to The White Gown.

I have been working with The White Gown for over a year now and they are wonderful! Their new salon in SOHO is gorgeous, I had to pinch myself to remind me that I wasnt in a dream! Elizabeth was incredibly sweet and helpful - she was honest about what suited me best and didnt try to steer me to specific options based on price. She also helped me get out of my preconceived notions about what would work for me so that we could find a dress that was outside the box and fit the vibe of our event but still classy. I wound up buying the dress I loved at TWG, and I am SO excited to wear it. It will help me feel as beautiful and confident as I should on that day. Elizabeth is AWESOME!! Ladies, if you’re going to White Gown, ask for Elizabeth as your stylist! I had picked out a few gowns at the store myself right before my appointment, but Elizabeth picked out a couple for me based on what I was looking for and my shape/style. Her picks were way better the gowns I picked out and I ended up going with the first one she picked for me!! She is also very good at picking out veils/hair pieces to go along with your dress—they matched so well!Overall I had a good experience picking my dress at White Gown, and I highly recommend Elizabeth!!!

I went in for the sample sale and no one came to help me or give me guidance on dress shopping even though I told them that it was my first time. The place wasn’t crowded yet. No one asked me questions on what I was looking for or even where to begin and the one lady I asked questions acted as if I was annoying and not even worth her time. I was dressed in a loose shirt and sweatpants because I was advised to dress in loose fitting clothes as I’d be changing in and out of them but maybe she just assumed I wasn’t serious or could afford a dress. But I could and had the service been remotely decent I would’ve purchased on the spot as I was willing and ready to for the right dress.

The White Gown was an excellent experience. I worked with Aisha for my experience - she heard everything I had to say and found some dresses that matched my vision and others that were close, but also a little adventurous for me (giving me a chance to try something new). It was my first time trying on wedding gowns, and while I ultimately didnt purchase at The White Gown (because I wanted to explore all of my options), I couldnt have been happier as a bride there. This was by far the most intimate bridal salon experience I had, giving me, my sisters, mom, and future MIL our own separate section of the parlor to take our time and soak in each dress. Highly recommend for anyone looking to feel special and heard!

I had a great shopping experience at The White Gown and I think if you live in New York and/or have a lot of money it’s a good place to go. However, I think the store is sorely lacking in its service to brides to give advice about fit, alteration costs and more. I was sold a gown based on measurements that wound up so large that multiple alterations places were shocked that I bought it from a salon. One quoted me a price to alter for $1135 and said I should just get a new dress. Another assumed I bought it online. It was supposedly only a size up from the sample and yet looked absurd. I’m likely going to need to buy a new dress, as I can’t trek to New York for multiple fittings, and at this point I have limited options. The entire thing has been a nightmare and the store insists it sold me the right size. I wish they had advised me that if I bought a dress based on hip size, I’d be looking at $1k in alterations. I expected a store with professionals to have better advice. Anyway, they are nice people, it’s a nice store and they have nice dresses. But be aware about potential for extremely costly alterations, feeling awful about your body and for seamstresses to advise you it’s not even worth altering the dress. My understanding is that their in-house alterations are reasonably priced so perhaps if I lived in NY it wouldn’t be an issue.UPDATE: I ultimately was able to sell my dress, but lost the shipping cost from The White Gown, about a quarter of the dress cost, and, obviously, a lot of sleep.

My visit at The White Gown was amazing. My stylist Elizabeth was phenomenal. She was very helpful, very kind, and she listened to what I wanted and made sure that’s what I got. I am very pleased with the service I received. I recommend!

I would 100% recommend The White Gown to any and all brides! I flew to NYC from Ohio just to find the perfect gown! I had made appointments at other salons but The White Gown was my first. Courtney did a fantastic job listening to my wishes and finding beautiful dresses for me to try on! When I found one that I loved we decided to stop trying on gowns for the day. When I told Courtney I loved it but I wasn’t ready to commit yet, she was very understanding and encouraged me to take 24 hours to think about it. The next morning, I went to a very well known bridal shop and tried on more dresses. The second bridal shop had the same dress I loved at The White Gown but it was more expensive. I decided that was indeed the dress so I called Courtney and she got me in for a last minute appointment so I could try on the gown again. I fell in love with it all over again! Since I am from out of state, Courtney offered to email me different alteration recommendations and she did so within 3 days of my purchasing of the dress.I am beyond excited to marry the love of my life in my beautiful gown that I found at The White Gown! If you’re contemplating going there, BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT! They go above and beyond!

Elizabeth at The White Gown is wonderful! I like out of state and happened to be in the city for one day. I called and asked if I could swing by to see a dress I saw online and she said sure! I tried it on and walked out an hour later with the dress ordered! I ended up having to buy a big size due to hip measurements so I hope the alterations are manageable. Thanks Elizabeth!

The White Gown was a first rate experience from start to finish. My daughter was out of the country when her adventure for finding her dream gown began, so I was her liaison in setting appointments. Working with The White Gown was professional, easy and timely in response to questions. On the day of the appointment, this was no different. The salon was beautiful and we were greeted warmly. Our stylist Elizabeth was wonderful. She treated my daughter with care and attention to detail. She provided exceptional guidance. We were very impressed with the quality and prices of the dresses. Best of all, my daughter found the dress she could not leave without. The White Gown is a must for every bride in the NYC area.

I had such a great experience here. I loved that this is a very intimate place and all the sales staff was SOOOOO nice and friendly. I didnt feel rush or pushed into getting a gown here. Unlike most places, they were really stress free. My wedding is 8 months away and everywhere I went they gave me such grief with having to order right away. But definitely not here.They have a great selection of gowns and they keep their samples in very good condition. Most gowns at the other salons Ive been to are either ripped, torn or so dirty that I felt disgusted trying it on. They do keep all their gowns bagged in the stock room which helps with keeping the gowns in good condition. I made an appointment to go back this Saturday to get measured and order the gown. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Had a great experience with this salon. Ive visited other salons and I have to say this was the best and easiest salon. Its a very intimate experience and made ordering easy. I finally put my order in about 7-8 months before my wedding which I knew it was cutting it VERY close . Since I was out of town, I had my wedding gown shipped to me which saved me taxes. I had about 3 weeks to do my fittings at my tailor and it turned out it was a perfect fit and only needed a hem and bustle. The seamstress said the salon did a great job ordering the perfect size for me since I didnt have to do too much alterations on the gown. Within a week, the alterations was done and I had another 2 weeks until my wedding. During that time I lost some weight right before the wedding so I had to bring it back to the seamstress to take it in. I guess I could have waited a little before doing alterations. I want to thank the staff at The White Gown for ordering the perfect size for me and shipped the gown overnight to me. Cant wait for the wedding pictures to come back.

It’s clear why this salon has many wonderful reviews and a fair amount of terrible reviews. The shopping experience was wonderful. They ordered in a gown that they didn’t carry specifically for me. The sales persons were wonderful during that time. However once you are actually ordering a gown and they know they have your money, that’s where it turns. Advising to order a gown so large that it needs extensive alterations seems to be their technique. Then not disclosing certain policies about alterations making it very difficult and terribly expensive to get altered. An initial exciting experience has turned into something very stressful.

I found my dress at The White Gown today and had the BEST experience! The store itself is beautiful, clean and has a good atmosphere. The dressing rooms are fairly private with room for family or friends to sit comfortably and admire while you try on. All of the staff were very friendly. However the true highlight was our stylist, Elizabeth. She was warm, welcoming and not only did she listen well to what I was looking for, she was able to pull other dresses I hadn’t seen that fit exactly what I wanted. She truly made the experience the most pleasant of all the stores I visited in nyc! Thanks again Elizabeth! :)

I’ve been to the White Gown twice so far and bought my dress at the second appt. I felt like the consultants were very patient and encouraging, despite the fact that I don’t have a ton of other details about my wedding locked down. While it’s true they don’t have a ton of visible stock, if you communicate with them in advance about what you wish to try on, they’re very helpful and accommodating. I will be updating my review once I go through the alterations process!

Due to family health reasons, my husband and I planned our entire wedding in two months. I went to a couple other salons before going to The White Gown and the sales associates at those other places were downright nasty to me for waiting until the last minute to get my dress and not leaving 6-8 months to order a new gown. The sales professionals at The White Gown, however, were absolutely WONDERFUL to work with. They were very understanding of the situation and really listened to what I was looking for in my dress. I really had my heart set on long lace sleeves, but they didnt carry any long sleeve gowns. To troubleshoot, they a) pulled all the samples they were willing to sell me that were lace and had the fit I wanted (since there was no time to order a brand new gown), and b) had one of their seamstresses match the lace and design an entire new top of the dress with long lace sleeves. It was PERFECT. Even with the alterations, I ended up paying less for the gown than I would have at one of those places that treated me badly. We had an amazing wedding day and I got so many compliments on my dress! I give The White Gown top marks in customer service, professionalism, price and workmanship.

If youre looking for a one-on-one shopping experience, come here. I stumbled upon this bridal salon by researching stockists of Enzoani and Pronovias dresses. The White Gown was one of the first to come up on my search so I checked it out. My mom, my sister and myself were the only people in the salon when we were there! We were given a one on one experience and I was able to try on as many dresses as I liked. The appointment was close to two hours and though I went in with an idea of what I liked, I tried on a number of styles. The White Gown had the dress I had had my eye on for months and it was the final one I tried on. When I had it on, I knew it was the one! Its not a big, frilly salon but if youre looking for a one-on-one more personal experience, this is the place to visit! Dont let it fool you, they have an extensive selection of dresses!

I had my 4th dress appointment here and it was by far my favorite. Samantha was so kind and so, so helpful. She really understood the look I was going for and gave me some great options. She also picked out some beautiful veils to try on with the dresses. We had the whole store to ourselves, which was really nice. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured like I have at several other bridal shops. I ended up buying a gorgeous Hayley Paige dress and I can’t wait to wear it!

Very nice experience when I bought the dress 9 months ago. Hayley the advisor was lovely. However, when I came back to do the alterations recently I had a disappointing experience. First, the seamstress didn’t try to listen to what I wanted to do with the dress, but instead in 5 minutes she just decided what I needed. I had to ask to times to get the dress fitted better, she didn’t consider adding cups to make me look better, and she made a mistake with the hem lace which wasn’t put back on matching the design and the symmetry of the dress. The reason why I bought my dress was because of the design in the lace, and I expected a higher quality alteration from a place that partners with that specific designer. Luckily I got the hem fixed somewhere else in time for the wedding.

It’s been such a pleasure to work with Kelsi! She’s friendly, smart and honest ! Based on a couple of gowns, she can determine which style would you best on you ! Can’t wait to make my second appt to purchase THE gown :)

She was so patient with me and let me try on as many as I needed. This showcased to me how well Elizabeth knew the styles the salon had, and that she truly understood the make of a gown. Every time I told her something I liked about a gown, it inspired her to grab another as an option.Ultimately, I really wanted a long sleeved dress, and Elizabeth knew this was a priority - she brought me a gown that was cap sleeved, but could be altered to include sleeves. It had everything else I wanted...When i put it on and she put the fake example sleeve on me to show what it would look like, I immediately knew it was the one. :)GREAT SPACE:The space itself is surprisingly large for a Manhattan store. The inventory is large. They do not overbook, so you truly feel you have their attention and plenty of space for whoever you bring (I had a nice panel of judges - 5 in total haha! And there was plenty of space). I went here for my first wedding gown appointment. I see some mixed reviews here but I had a great time. Maybe I got lucky? Had the whole store to myself, my saleswoman was lovely and brought everything she could in the range that I asked for. Already made another appointment for the sample sale theyre having. I definitely say this place is worth a visit.

I may not get my dress at The White Gown but I can say that the experience there is wonderful. The consultant I worked with (Christiana- sorry that may not be right) was wonderful, pleasant and great to be around. She realized that she may not have exactly what I wanted and was really upfront and helpful.

My experience was amazing! I had almost canceled my appointment, but my mom was in town and desperately wanted to see me in a bridal gown.I almost left the salon gownless but Courtney refused to let me walk away. After trying on one style of dress she decided to go a different style approach. After trying on 5 dresses previously she pulled another 4!Well this time it worked. I never thought I would be able to have that bridal moment but Courtney made it happen! My mom has recently finished chemo and this is the moment she was waiting for. Thank you Courtney for making my mom and me so happy. In a few months my fiancé will be just as happy :).Make the appointment! They are amazing here!

I had a great experience. Sales person was kind, respectful, easy going and did not impose her opinions on me. Nice, cozy atmosphere. I got a deal on my dress and veil.

The stylish was very condescending and rude. She gave me 4 dresses which was not my style at all after I showed her a picture of what Im looking for and told me these are your budget, if you dont like these then there is nothing I can do. She helped me put on one dress and left me on my own. I tried one other dress and left. After i told her I dont think these are my style, she grabs the 4 dresses and walked to the back without even saything a word to me. I would never ever recommend anyone to come here.

My best friend was getting married so I made a couple appointments around town to start shopping for wedding gowns. When we arrived and elevator doors open, you are welcome to the front desk greeted by the sales staff immediately. They had us in one of the front dressing rooms which was huge and cozy for all of us. Weve been to several other places where the dressing rooms are small and stuffy so I was surprised to see the large dressing rooms and seating area here. The bride fell in love with the 2nd dress the consultant put her in. She brought out a couple more dresses to make sure it was the one for her. After trying them on, she went back to the 2nd dress because she didnt want to try anymore. My bestie found her gown here!!! We were all so happy to be able to take the picture with their sign to solidified I Found my Gown at The White Gown. Love it here. They are all so cute. Cant wait until its my turn to come here.

I picked this store for my wedding dress and I have to say it was a horrible experience. I trusted them with my wedding gown and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a beautiful dress from Pronovias, firstly they made me order the dress 2 sizes up mine so when the dress arrived it was HUGE on me. Then I obviously needed the seamstress to fix it and make it my size, and I have to say that the dress I picked up on my last fitting was very different than the dress I had fallen in love with. The seamstress took bottoms off the back to make the dress smaller and then didn’t put them back on, the back zipper which was supposed to be invisible was all stretched out from how much she cut it. The dress looked horrible horrible, thankfully I found another seamstress (not from this store) that was willing to work on my dress and tried to fix all the mistakes. Honestly I would not recommend this store to anyone. This caused me so much unnecessary stress leading to my wedding.

Came here for wedding dress shopping with my friend. It was my friends first time trying on any wedding dresses. The woman we got the appointment with was kind, knowledgable, very professional and just was able to help her try on all the different styles. Every dress she brought out was flattering on the bride. She wasnt pushy about a sale and we ended up booking another apppointment.

I chose my wedding dress from here because I fell in love with a dress, but it needed an alternation around the chest area, which said they could do. Months later when I went for my first alteration I was told the alteration needed could 100% not be done. This contributed to a few stressful weeks leading up to our wedding. When I went in for my 2nd alteration I brought one of my bridesmaids and from there, long story short the alteration needed was made and my dress looked beautiful. It was absolutely perfect. In the end the tailoring was perfect. The only reason I am giving 4 and not 5 stars is because of the initial stress and confusion I went through.

Horrible service for what should be a very enjoyable experience of finding your dress. Stylist was grumpy, condescending and rude. Even if I had found my dream dress I would not have bought it here since I never want to return.

The consultant was nice and staff was polite, but I had a confusing and ultimately disappointing bridal experience. I called Friday morning to ask about a specific dress the bridal designer website claimed this store had in stock, and the person on the phone said sure we have it, come on over. I live 2 hours away so I took the train into the city specifically for this. When I asked the consultant about this gown she said no Im sorry I dont know that dress, I think it has been discontinued (?!) I was heatbroken but she tried to help me find a different dress. None were exactly what I wanted or even very close.When I went to ask about prices for the ones they did have in store, (by the way alterations are $695 here, thats a bit much, and if you are tall and need extra length they charge extra, even though the fabrics are mostly polyester; also they charge shipping and sales tax unless for some reason you want to order it to NJ or C, but not anywhere else...) the manager clarified that the dress I wanted was not discontinued, but that it was not in stock. She proceeded to quiz me about whether I had *really* asked about it, claiming her consultants were trained. Yes I had! And gosh, is your inventory really so large that they dont remember a dress that is not actually discontinued? They only showed me gowns from one designer, so that seemed improbable.So in sum they could order the dress to the store, but it would cost me $75. I asked how soon it would come, they didnt know. I asked if it had structure in the bodice, they didnt know. I had been searching for a dress for a few months so uncertainties and paying more out of pocket (enough for a bridal shower dress at that) stressed me out. They offered me a discount on the length, and on the other dresses, but only if I committed by end of day (in two hours). I hemmed and hawed and walked out because I was really drained; the consultant was still doing her best to try to sell me on the dresses that were just okay.I am glad I walked because I called another shop closer to home that carries the designer and asked about the dress. They not only knew it but had seen it under a week ago and could get it again in a week at no charge. I felt immediate relief atbeing in more capable hands. So I am going there instead, even though it is 40 miles from where I live.If you come here, be sure to do your research first and be specific. Their inventory is in the back so if the consultant is searching shell be gone for a while, and you wont be able to look at things yourself. Also, the dresses are in the more affordable range but there are a lot of hidden costs here. If you donlt live in the city look somewjere closer to home.

Stay as far as away from this wedding store as possible. Pauline our salesperson was amazing and that is the only thing good about this store. The manager Marie is one of the most unpleasant woman I have had to work with throughout my bride experience and I made that clear to Pauline when a few other things didnt feel right to me. I purchased the sample dress, which they charged me FULL price for, because our wedding was so close. I kept the dress at the location with an alteration date set for August 27th. As most brides would be I was very excited, one thing checked off our list until I found out they were allowing other people to try on the dress after we had paid for it in full. When I called the store to confront them, the manager Marie, told me they had ordered me a brand new dress a week ago. When I asked why they didnt call and tell me that they purchased a new gown I received the run around. I asked her if she had known that I had an alteration scheduled with them for August 27th she said she was unaware. When I asked when the dress would come in and what size she told me an 8 and she had no idea what date but that it would be sometime in September. I called the designer directly and not only were they disgusted with the fact the store would be allowing other woman to try on the dress, they also told me there was no dresses in my color being manufactured for September date. I did receive a full refund from the store, but I am speaking with the designer to pull the line and although many other woman may have had somewhat good experiences with the store, little do they know their dress was probably being tried on by others so they could make an extra sale. If you have purchased your dress at this store and can get it from another location in time for your wedding I suggest you do so. Thankfully the designer itself was able to get me a dress in the other color they offered in my exact size.

The process of picking out my dress was fine, Arielle was super helpful.Do NOT do alterations here. Extremely overpriced just to alter it to fit (2/3 of the cost of the dress!!!) and after THREE fittings my dress was still way, way too big. I had to fit in coming back two additional times the week before the wedding, which is extremely difficult with work and wedding related schedule and the fact the alterations person is only there Tuesday & Thursday. I was undercharged for alterations so came home to TEN missed calls and emails. Even though I promptly called them back to give credit card information to fix their own error, they had no flexibility, no apology and no discount given my bad experience and the error on their end.

What a disappointment! The store itself is really shockingly bare bones, old, and kind of dirty. They do not have a good variety of gowns and you cant really shop yourself (inventory is in the back). I did like my consultant a lot, she was knowledgeable and tried to help me with a custom design. However, when I was ready to come back for a second appointment, the manager actually declined to have me as a client! Apparently, they only employ 1 seamstress and thought my request for a custom skirt was too big an ask for a fall wedding when they would be busy. Mind you, I was shopping 11 months in advance and willing to pay a lot of money. Just hire more seamstresses!

I had a very good experience with The White Gown. Staff are nice and courteous. Pauline found a dress that I didnt know I would like. I fell in love with the dress right away and bought it the next day!

Hated my experience. The consultant did not seemed to be interested in my requests and wishes. Many other salons in NYC provided a much better experience and had larger selections. Would not recommend to waste your time at this salon, there are much better experiences to be had.
