Absolutely the place for a beer in the village, very charming selection and bartenders, decent outdoor seatings, and loved the seasonal offerings
Love this place. Great selection and delicious 🥨
By all means, go for the nice balanced variety of local taps. Eat elsewhere first.Good variety of beers, including a couple of sours, several ales, and three Belgians. I even found one balanced, drinkable IPA among the 20+ taps. Only downgraded one star because the advertised food is just stuff reheated in a toaster oven behind the bar. Pizza was just okay and certainly not worth the price.
Always a great place for a nice atmosphere and a wide variety of beers
Good service and knowledgeable bartender. Several styles available. Slightly on the pricy side, but its Greenwich Village, so what do you expect?
Had a great time. Bartender was knowledgeable and friendly, and the beer was great! Really enjoyed getting a kranz of beer (flight) although it was a lot more beer than I expected!
Cool bar with 24 beers on tap and many more available in a bottle or can. The variety in their selection was amazing so everyone should be able to find exactly what they like.
Nice little place, not the one I was supposed to meet my buddy at but that wasnt their fault.
Very professional bartender, gave me helpful information on his beer list. A varied beer selection too!
Great little pub. Watched the Eurocup final here while being tourists in NYC. They have many microbrewed beers on-tap and a TV with which to catch the game. Very chill/nice bar-tender.
Great beer list, outdoor seating, good service, what more could you ask for
Great beer, great service, really relaxed vibe. Would definitely come again
Unfussy establishment with good happy hour prices.
Great little craft beer spot in the big city.
Two thumbs up -great selection of beers and very friendly and engaging bar staff
Best spot for craft beer lovers, with a rotating selection of local and imported brews. Rotating local art on the walls as well. Snack food like pretzels and mini pizza.Bar tenders are *usually up for a good chat about the brews. Only once got a guy that was apathetic AF. Overall a solid establishment and one of my favorite bars in town.
Beer were good. Food options were kind of limited.
A cool, cozy spot to get many different pints on draft. The bartender says the Arts part of the name can be seen in the changing pieces of art on the walls of the tavern. Their happy hour (4-7) deal gets you four different pints for $5 a pop. A great place to do a little Power Hour before going out.
Cosy bar with an amazing tap selection
Great beer, needs more staff
Really nice beer menu that is constantly updated. They also have some tasty small bites bar food. We got the pretzel bites with beer cheese and they really hit the spot. The staff has always been friendly and the overall place is very clean. I would definitely recommend for an after dinner drink.
We had a great time! A definite must for anyone looking to enjoy expert craft cocktails with a fun, laid back vibe! The owners welcomed two tourists from So Cal and treated us like family. Cheers to a couple of guys doin it right in San Francisco. We will see you again soon!
Great outdoor setup with heat lamps - would recommend!
Great choice of beer and awesome staff to guide you. Really cool atmosphere with one big screen to watch sports if youre into it. Highly recommended!
This place is absolutely great. They have put a lot of thought into what they do. Awesome selection of rotating beers. The flights are served in tall glasses and each individual flight is poured according to the alcohol content, so higher alcohol beers will be shorter pours and vice versa. The flight trays are filled with ice water which keeps your beer cold the entire time your sampling. Service A+
We went for a drink recently because we had a few hours to kill before a dinner reservation and wanted a laid back place where we could chat. This place was perfect for us. Great relaxed and cozy atmosphere. Not too loud so you can have a conversation. The beer selection was great. Overall we had a very good time and would return!
They denied us service and had us wait until someone left their table because of supposed social distancing rules. Then some dude bros came in and ordered beer, where served immediately, and let sit in a shared table with some other group they didnt know. They have no idea what theyre doing. They have rules they cannot enforce. This is a problem in many places right now, but this is where we were made lose out time and temper, sorry.
This large hole-in-the-wall beer joint sits below street level which offers a bit of solitude and a great beer menu. The tap list is extensive with a ton of variety and beers even craft beer lovers probably haven’t experienced. The staff was super knowledgeable about the beer and made great suggestions. The food was even decent too though it’s mostly just heated up in the toaster oven. It still hit the spot.
This is one of the good beer parlor close to Washington Square park and McDougall street. They have an awesome list of craft beers which they update regularly featuring a lot of beers especially from the neighboring areas. The ambience of the location is great, they have ample seating and the spot is ideal for an evening hangout with a group of friends. One can be seated on the long bar counter or sit at the long wooden tables behind the counter. The service was very friendly, they suggested me some real good beers to try and were patient in explaining which one I should pick.FYI, the beer parlor is kinda at the basement and you may miss the sign. Do keep an eye for the sign just below your eye level so as to not miss it while walking. They also offer food but its mostly frozen pizza or pretzels heated from the oven and served, I would rather suggest you to have some food from outside or just have some fries to pair with your beer.Summary:The beer parlor is definitely worth trying for their choice of beers and good service.
Great beer selection that is always rotating. Wish there were more elaborate food options, but I understand the limits of the existing space, which is cozy. But hey, its NYC.
Quaint and cozy bar thats good for A relaxing night if drinks and games for a small group. They have a fake fireplace to really give you that lets play a game of clue type of vibe. Great beer selection as well. Giving it 4 starts because the beers were just a tad overpriced. I would definitely come back here. Protip: bring your games!
What can I say other than I *love* Arts and Crafts as a place to chill and have a few beers. Do you love wood? Because everything in Arts and Crafts is wood, making for a cozy feel. The faux fireplace is a neat touch. Really encourages sticking around a while. As for the important part - the drink selections are on point. With enough variety in styles of beers as not to become an IPA fest that is all the rage these days. There are ciders, wine and fruity things for people who may not be beer aficionados but this is first and foremost a craft beer joint.Theres very little food options outside some pretzels and the like but if youre all about that exploring new beer types life this is a spot to keep in mind.
No frills craft beer bar. Great place to try a eclectic rotation of beers. They have about 15 taps. Just two items in the food/snack department, but theres ample food options nearby. The bar is quite spacious inside with minimal outdoor seating (just a bench).
The beers were just so-so. The ipa we started with was more like a mild pale ale with no bitterness. But the prices are good and I got 3 beers for $20 in Manhattan.
Ive introduced countless friends and coworkers to this hidden craft beer gem. Even had a birthday here. Friendly staff, great selection, awesome vibe. Especially good for winter.
Good selection of beer. Not much to eat. Staff is attentive. You can make a reservation for a large party. Not so loud that you cant have a conversation.
Really nice cozy beer bar in the middle of Manhattan. It feels like youre transported in out of the business of the city. Its a great alternative in the area if you want a great selection of beers but dont want to deal with the crowds at Blind Tiger
Happy hour was solid. The beer taps are an excellent selection of local brews. The bartender was accommodating. Good vibe. -1 star because the table was sticky gross.
Fun atmosphere, they have lots of choices of beers to choose from that suits to your taste. Many of the beers are served in special glasses made. Very cool! If you love beer, this place is a must visit.
This place is great in terms of craft beers, there is plenty of choice for every taste. The service was fine. Will return.
Nice craft beer bar in the middle of Wash Sq. Wish they played something other than sports games in the TV though - kinda kills the “arts and crafts” appeal of the name and interior.
Great beer, great cider, great food in a wonderful atmosphere. Check it out! Always something new on tap to satisfy all beer and cider lovers.
The beer selection here is really good. I loved the ambience and vibe of this place. The only issue I had was that it was slightly cramped (although I still had fun and was able to enjoy my craft beer). Would come back here again.
Fantastic, low key, cozy bar. Great selection of 20+ craft brews on tap, featuring a large selection of local brews too. All wood interior featuring a changing selection of pop art style posters ties the whole place together. Reasonably priced and great to visit after a work night.
Got the 12 beer flight, love the selection here
This place had great beer, good music, and a chill vibe on a nice Sunday early evening. It was a nice place for a long conversation over some beers. They do flights served in a cool contraption that keeps them cold in an ice bath. There is interesting local art on the walls, including a painting of the stonewall tavern which a historic blurb next to it.
The beer tasting at the little spot is absolutely amazing, so many options and such great quality staff!
Good beer selection. Atmosphere not so good. Not so much attention from the bartenders (when it was not busy). It should be more clean, smelled in side like the beer was more then fermented.
Great selection of beers in a small cellar. Crowded at happy hour.
I was excited to check this place out because I love both arts and crafts beer. I really liked to cute and pub like atmosphere, but u have to admit that I wasnt impressed with their beer selection. They have a variety of styles of beer, but all the beers I tried werent particularly good. I doubt I would go back.
Unpretentious and warm, with a good crowd, fast service, excellent beer selection and bar bites. Nice place.
This is a fantastic place in the village for beer-lovers. 20+ beers on tap with a good balance of darks and pales. The atmosphere is low-key and ideal for stopping by after work for apint or two.
Cozy little bar with a relaxing atmosphere and great beer selections. Visited with a group of friends, and everyone enjoyed the beer they chose. Friendly staff members and interesting art pieces decorations.
So every craft beer bar in this city has a catchy name like “Milk & Hops”, “Malt & Mold”, “Astoria Beer & Cheese” and they all sell beer and cheese. I love that this place has a cool name that goes along with a cool unique concept of highlighting good craft beer and art.
Bustling bar with great brews and drinks! Nice back patio with Jenga. Definitely play Jenga.
Great selection of beers. Bar tenders are knowledgeable, likeable and good place to drink and talk. Music is good but not loud. No TVs so you can just be with ppl
They have good selections of craft beers, exceptional staff, gave you great recommendation on what to try. Cozy Atmosphere. Overall, a good experience.
A very pleasant place to grab a beer if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The arts and crafts is mainly reflected in the typography on the blackboard, but thats OK; it is a dark woody retreat. The selection of beers is wide but not particularly imaginative; I am an IPA drinker and could not find anything to excite or surprise me. With 24 taps (as I recall) I would challenge these folks to feature some more adventurous choices in each category along with the tried and true.
Arts exhibited on walls from a local artist (they change them every two months) and craft beer from all over US (they have a new special each week) supporting micro breweries and refining the taste of local community. Their ginger cider from Maryland is amazing :)
While good beer is not difficult to find in New York per se, the places where it can be had are relatively speaking few and far between.Arts and Crafts is one such place where those who appreciate anything from a pint of New England ipa or a 10 oz sour fruit beer will not be disappointed. They feature a predominantly local rotating menu featuring some of the best breweries in the region, and some others probably worth giving a shot! The bar tenders are very nice and personable, they feel like your friends behind the bar (sometimes they are). You can try anything youd like, and there is a reasonable happy hour too. You can watch sports, or just enjoy a nice brew in a very comfortable and well appointed, traditionally styled setting. Basically a clean and pleasant pub that feels like youre hanging out in neutral ground, not a store. Charmingly located below ground in the eminently charming surrounds of Washington Square Park, theres little not to like.
Awesome selection of beer. Staff was great. Drinks were priced well. Has good vibes. 🍻
Nice selection of beers. We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon. They had a nice selection of local beers and some others. It was nice and quiet at the time. Worth a stop if you are looking for something else.
Excellent beers. Not cheap, but probably worth it for a few beers and the experience. As for the service and atmosphere, it was fine.
Good beers with pretty large choice. The place is a bit small though. Be careful if youre a large group of people.
A great place to spend a hot afternoon: dark, cool, great beer, good happy hour prices. Comfortable and friendly. Extensive, well chosen beer selection. The hot dog on a pretzel bun is pretty good as well.
Very good selection of drinks, some Ive heard of, some I havent. Although a small spot, if you mange to get a good seat, youll want to stay.*Recommend making reservations before going if youre with a group.
Very low key, just ‘snacks’ for food. All day happy hour includes the good beer.
Pretty wide selection of beer. Good place for a casual hang out.
Very nice beer selection, including several quite rare beers. Theres always going to be something interesting you havent tried. Comfortable basement feel.
Great cozy bar. Not overrun with riff Raff. An adult place to have a drink or do a professional happy hour
Nice place, the owners are great and will give you and overview of what beers are on tap and which are their favorites. The space is rather small, but there is one large table at the back of the bar which can be reserved.
Awesome little beer bar with a wide selection of brews (including IPAs and sours) youve likely never tried. Check it out!
Had a ton of fun here. Great beer. Actually had a bourbon county brand rare stout. So, I bought it and we all shared. Good times.
Very clean and organized spot.. great collection of craft beer and the art work is awesome
Great place to unwind and down a cold one.
Awesome atmosphere and look. Nice selection of beers with options for full pour, half pour or flights. Limited but nice snack menu.
Good draught list, nice wood interior. Not pretentious. Cool spot. Bartender was very cool.
Laid back atmosphere that focuses on good service and good beer. Bartender was so nice and helpful. Not a rowdy sport bar. Sometimes less is more and this is one of those times.
Cozy place with good atmosphere and good craft selection. Happy hour starts at 2pm. The Sloppy Jose Sliders are delicious. Good wifi.
Lots of delicious beers to try. Great place for a relaxed date, or a fun place with a group of friends. It looked like it could get a bit college-y on some nights. The belgian ale I had was very flavorful.
