Ive been going to Level 78 for 8+ years and theyve been great. Consistent hair cut, great barbers and very clean. Alex is my go-to when hes available, but have a great experience each time. Looking forward to when the warm towels are available again!

My son is an autistic teen and the patients they have is amazing. I have to say they all are great. I travel from uptown just for a scissor fade for my kid.

During covid, they have plastic divisions to help social distancing. The barber did a really good job, asked me multiple times if I like one way or another to make sure customer satisfaction is met.

This is my first haircut following the pandemic shutdowns, and I couldnt be more impressed. Yuri was professional and respectful while I was wearing my mask, and gave me a fantastic cut that Ive already received compliments on. Its always nice to find quality like this in your own neighborhood!

Love this place! It was the first place I tried when I moved to the Upper East Side months ago and I haven’t been anywhere else since. They also have a loyalty card. The tenth haircut is free. They also have a special for new customers. Five dollars off your first haircut!

Since finding Level 78 Ive never looked back. Richie and everyone at the shop knows their way around hair. I usually just walk in every couple months and trust whoever is on to do the job right and have never been disappointed. Haircut and straight shave or beard trim, hot towel, the whole nine. Plus a free shot--refreshing! The place has been around 26 years—like me its a neighborhood classic. Considering how hard it can be to find a reliable barbershop, its good to know where to find a 100% satisfying experience every time. Service, price, general vibe, and of course, the quality of the cut itself are all great. I always leave looking good and feeling good.

Whenever I am visiting friends on the upper east side, I plan on getting my hair cut and beard trimmed by Richie, at Level 78! If you value how you look, which I’m sure you do, if you are reading these reviews, you’ll appreciate how gifted Richie is as a stylist. You should have seen me before ( and after) I walked into his barber shop. I looked ragged and worn out and a little bit like someone who needed a complete “ makeover “! However just minutes after I sat down in Richie’s chair, I began to see him work his magic. By the time I walked out of his barbershop, I felt like a million bucks! And as a special way of thanking his customers, Richie offered me a few shots of whiskey, which is better than lollipops that other shops provide for their customers! I promise that you will love the overall experience of coming to Level 78!

Since I moved to NYC 4 years ago, this has been the only haircut place I go to. The staff is EXCEPTIONALLY friendly and always cut great hair. They offer an amazing experience topped off by a nice hot towel and shot.

Spent a while trying to find a barber I liked, with no success before I came to level 78. Now it’s my go-to place, everything you would hope for in a neighborhood barbershop. If I move to a different neighborhood, I’ll still make the trip back here for a haircut.

Ive been going here for a while and have been very happy with all the cuts Ive gotten. Recently Ive been going to Mr. Frank. I have a lot of hair that is very prone to sticking straight out and needs to be thinned when I get a fade. More than any other barber Ive had he takes the time to get all the strays and leave me with a clean look. Definitely recommend going here, you will get a cut just for you.

I used to always get a great haircut here. Then they slowly stopped listening to me. Used to be ok to have different people doing the haircut. Until the last time. Im bummed. I have to find a new place now. Man, that was not a good cut. And Ive had good cuts in the past here! But it just got worse. I kept trying to give another chance and another chance. It grows back, but I was embarrassed for a while. Got to start looking again.

It took me a full year of awful haircuts around Manhattan but Ive finally found a reliable place with good skin / medium fades. Boris is the star there, so get him if you can. I usually tip 30% and pay $30 total for my haircut, which is totally reasonable since they actually listen to you. Just be clear with what you want!
