This place was so packed and line out the door. I preordered online so it would be quicker to pick up. Or at least thats what I thought. It was really crazy and unorganized inside. Waited like half an hour just trying to pick up my order. The bagel itself is Pretty good, but not worth $18 even though I added on a free things. I got avocado, lox, cucumber, garlic cream cheese, everything bagel. This thing was dense and huge! Barely fit my mouth around it. It was the most messy bagel Ive ever eaten. All the cream cheese kept sliding everything out. Theres better and cheaper bagels on Long Island
It was OK but not special. I liked strawberry cream cheese bagel and walnut cream cheese bagel but egg and cheese bagel wasnt the best. Their fresh orange juice was worth it. Their brewed coffee wasnt tasty, try coffee latte instead.Seats were so limited (see photos). Outside has only 3 tables and 7 chairs total. Most of the staffs were friendly. If I want to try another bagel I will not come back here.
First, the bagels are MASSIVE. So if you get one, you can easily split them with one other person and get full. They’re definitely very filling and pretty good. Pictured is the lox with scallion cream cheese and the Mexican bagel (egg white, avocado, and salsa). The bagel is good but a bit too chewy for my personal taste. To me, the perfect bagel is crunchy and also soft and just thick enough to hold everything. I think tourists have hyped this place up just a tad too much. I think 3.5 stars would be perfect for this place.
This Kentucky girl sincerely wanted a New York bagel. I got it and I was so satisfied. I enjoyed the vanilla cold brew. My fiance and I tried an everything bagel with garlic cream cheese and a garlic bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Holyyyy. I cant say enough about it. I was also very impressed with the service. They were so busy, bless them but they were all very kind and efficient. Thanks for a great meal guys!!
Other reviews talking about these bagels being fockin huge arent kidding, these the biggest NY bagels I ever seen in my life. But, theyre really good. Chewy and great texture, not doughy or dry or anything, not floury. Just good bagels. I had a lox and cream cheese sandwich, all good, just wish you could get better tomatoes in NY. I also had a strawberry spread on cinnamon raisin later in the day (i basically only eat bagels when in NYC) both of which were good. So at minimum, their egg, everything, and cinnamon raisin bagels are great.
Average bagel. They got my order wrong, and then gave 7 people their orders before I had to ask them again for my order. (They forgot to remake my order.) They we’re nice about it, but this wasn’t a 5 star experience. Also, if you get cream cheese on your bagel, expect that there’s half the Philadelphia block on your bagel.
My first time in New York. I had to try a bagel. It is one of the many things the state is known for. The shop was well organized even though it was busy. All the staff was very nice and informative. The bagels were soo delicious! I wish I bought more than two. I had the Bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel and a plan bagel with cream cheese. They were crispy yet chewy on the inside and were tosted and made to order. I hope to go back to new york and experience that again!
Yes, this place indeed has the best bagel Ive tasted. We frequently order blueberry bagels from other locations, but establishment has raised the standard of what blueberry bagels should taste like in my book. The bagel was fresh and very flavorful. And the size of the bagels are huge! Im from out of town, but this place will be one of the first stops when Im back in Manhattan.
Decent bagels. Are these the actually the best bagels? Probably not. But I appreciate their wide selection of bagels. Definitely pricey for what they offer. Great ambience for a quick meal though. They could probably add more seating, as the place gets crowded very easily.
Well, the name of this place is pretty fitting. This was the best bagel I had on my trip to NYC. My wife and I both got toasted everything bagels with lox, onion, tomato, and scallion cream cheese. The lox portion was generous and well worth the money, unlike some of the places I visited. The bagel was also nice and thick. If you aren’t very hungry it’s definitely something you could share with someone without being disappointed. Reviewing this with the intention of returning.
This place is such an unassuming place but the bagels are phenomenal. Someone told me that New York was known for good bagels and this place definitely delivered! I ordered online since the place was small and packed and got the smoked salmon sandwich with onion cream cheese which tasted really solid together. The portion sizes are huge too and can last you a while so would say this is great bang for buck.
The Bagels themselves were good. I had the salmon bagel bust it was very mushy and put loads of cream cheese. They give a good portion of salmon and capers are almost $1 extra. The bacon egg and cheese my husband had he said was great but with they wouldve put a fried egg on the sandwich (not scrambled) the cold brew wasnt very tasty so Id probably skip that all together next time. I would come back but my rating is like between 3.5 and 4 star. Id probably just get the bagle with cream cheese only the are big and doughy. We had the everything bagel.
OMG! Best bagels EVER! Great local bakery makes them fresh. The line was out the door but moves pretty quick. Great Espresso drinks. If you get a sandwich be ready for a BIG one. Couldnt eat it all.
Best bagels. Huge, fluffy and perfectly chewy. Always come here to bring bagels home to freeze and ration out in CA. Just make sure to check your order before you leave - I ordered a bagel sandwich with all the veggies and got lox, a weird mistake when you aren’t expecting it. They’ve also gotten fancier since the last time I was here, they bow take credit cards, and you can order online and pick up at the first cashier window when you walk in.
For me, lived up to the name. I’m sure there’s some hidden gem a NYC native would say is better, but for a visitor, it was the best bagel I had.I got a bacon egg and cheese on sesame, which was huge and tasty. My GF got cream cheese on an egg bagel, which was fantastic (I wished I’d gotten that instead).Prices were reasonable and service was quick. We had to stand at a counter, not a lot of seating.
Came across this spot as In search of a great bagel. And indeed it was a great bagel. Very big, nice chew and crust to it freshly made. Im a very big fan of bagels especially the everything bagel or onion even the garlic bagels. However, when I eat an everything bagel I literally want to taste everything on it . The bagel was really good it just was missing that hint of flak salt to tie on all the flavors. Staff was friendly and courteous and service was quick.
I dont eat bagels often because Im really particular about how I like a bagel. These were fabulous! We are definitely going to return for more. They are huge. We just got cream cheese spreads on ours and still couldnt finish a whole one. If wed gotten the sandwich style we definitely could share one bagel. The texture of these is perfect. Lovely flavors and choices. And they definitely dont skimp on additions.
The name says it all! Stayed in Time Square for the weekend and did a quick search for NYC bagels. I wanted a true NYC bagel experience and I got it! Delicious fluffy bagel with perfect balance of cream cheese and salmon! It’s funny, hate the taste of salmon yet I knew I had to try it and now I’m obsessed with that sandwich! Thanks for a great NYC bagel experience!
Keepin it real out here in Midtown at the very Best Bagel & CoffeeDefinitely some quality bagels, got breakfast from there couple of times there already and hasnt disappoint. This time the toasted bagel is a bit too toasty for what im used to but still very warm and fresh. Location is great, great job with their recent renovation as well, and seems to be thriving before, during and post covid, will visit again no doubt.
Be warned: if you get a lox bagel with lettuce tomato capers and onions it will come with way too much lox (sadly standard these days) AND the lettuce will be SHREDDED. (!!!) In what world does a lox sandwich in a bagel have subway-style shredded lettuce??? The result: my bagel was WET when I opened the wrapper. I was disappointed given how great the rating are for this spot.
Good bagels and good vibes. In the heart of mid-manhattan, this Bagel shop does it well. Prices werent too bad either. Staff was friendly and amongst all the bagels were declious. Didnt care for the power breakfast all that much but their salmon with cream cheese Bagel was great. Would go here again.
Huge portion enough for 2. I had smoked salmon bagels but was too salty given the amount of salmon inside. You need to add capers cause its not included. You are paying for the quantity of ingredients not the quality. This bagel is a typical case of when too much of anything is bad. Personally think this restaurant is overrated.
Best Bagel and Coffee is a single location restaurant in NYC, New York known for their house made bagels! You can buy their bagels straight up or they make a variety of sandwich options that you can choose from that use their bagels as the bread. The atmosphere is like a classic deli, very open with some seating and you order at the counter. They usually have an order area and then you pay with the cashier but because of Covid, ordering and paying is done at one area. The food here is good and the bagels are on point, but maybe stick with the classic deli-style sandwiches if you decide to go the sandwich route. Service was lacking in attention but was okay. I would definitely come back here to order bagels and shmear! My wife and I got three bagel sandwiches, the Bacon, Egg and Cheese(BEC), The Roast Beef Inferno, and the Chicken Parmesan sandwiches. To start, the BEC was awesome! For the price, the portion was huge and didnt feel small at all. Definitely something that can fill you up for breakfast. You can choose your cheese and we got cheddar, of course. The egg was done very well as it was layered and didnt taste overcooked. Some people complain about the amount of bacon but I thought it was fine. The more bacon, the more expensive itll be so if you want more youll have to pay extra. The wife said it was a bit crispy for her taste but I liked it. Overall a good breakfast sandwich. My wife got her chicken Parm sandwich on a Bialy. A Bialy is like a bagel except its not boiled like a traditional bagel is and has no hole in the center and has a dimple instead. The bagel is more breadlike and doesnt have the pull and chewyness that a traditional bagel has. Her sandwich had sliced, breaded chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, marinara and parmesan cheese. The sandwich was big and had plenty of chicken, sauce and cheese. She made the right choice with the Bialy because it ate well with the ingredients. The only complaint that we both had with the chicken is that it was a bit overcooked and some parts were tough to eat. Still tasty nonetheless. My sandwich, the Roast Beef Inferno, had sliced roast beef, pepperjack cheese, hot cherry peppers, pickled jalapenos and hot mustard. Now regarding the name, something that has inferno in the name should burn my mouth and I was looking for a spicy sandwich but this was hardly spicy. Maybe change the name to Roast Beef Singe. I had the sandwich toasted with lettuce, tomato and onion added and it was very good besides the heat issue. Roast beef was piled high and was juicy. The flavors were there and it was enjoyable. I had this sandwich on an everything bagel and I think that complemented well.Service is just quick, counter service but when we were ready to order we sat in front of the cashier for at least a minute while she was complaining about a customer and we were just staring at her waiting to order. We ended up being helped by the cashier next to her when she was done with the other customer in line because our first cashier was busy complaining.Overall, Best Bagel and Coffee makes some killer bagels but their sandwiches could use some work, at least the ones we tried. I also wish they had more chip variety as they only offered regular lays. I cant speak for the rest of the menu but this is definitely a place to check out if youre in NYC!Food - 4 ⭐Service - 3 ⭐Atmosphere - 5 ⭐Overall - 4 ⭐Follow me for more reviews across America 😎🍔🍕🍨🍦🦖🔧
I’ve been a customer for years now. The bagels and service have always been consistent throughout the years. Not sure if there are better bagel stores in NYC, but this is the best bagel I’ve had thus far. I’ve also introduced my boyfriend to this place and he can’t stop obsessing over their bagels. Definitely try them when you’re in NYC!
I had a bagel at a different bagel store on my first morning in New York, and it was mediocre. It took me a couple of days, but I’m glad I decided to try again, and go somewhere different. Best Bagel blew the other place out of the water! Quick service, and very tasty! I ordered a plain bagel, toasted, with blueberry cream cheese. The bagel was warm and had a slight crunch on the outside, and was soft and chewy on the inside. There was a large amount of blueberry cream cheese (almost too much for me!) inside and the whole thing was delicious! Best bagel I ate in New York!
Great coffee (had a latte with oat milk) and bagels. Had a egg white bagel sandwich and added cream cheese which was amazing. Definitely gets crowded during the morning and all the way until 11 o’clock, but they have a good process and everyone wearing masks
Was in NYC visiting and these folks were outstanding. Delicious bagels, great customer service and theyre were so fast too. Cant say enough about their lox cream cheese either. Try it!
Overall this was a good bagelThis was our 2nd bagel experience on our NYC trip. In ranking this would be tied with Absolute Bagel.I got the everything bagel with lox. Wanted to do a direct comparison to our first place and it matched up.We also got another plain everything bagel and it was good. Wasnt as crispy on ouside but had a good soft inside.Would be a toss up for which to go to, but depending on where you are either place is worth a visit.
Great selection, best bagel i had in nyc! very customizable as well!
Visiting from Miami, this was literally the best bagel I have eaten in my life.
Bagels are great but they are really badly organized. One person in charge of getting complete orders, both online and made in-store, to the dozens of people waiting, plus that person is also responsible for getting everyone’s drinks. If you order online you have to eventually force your way to the front and get the attendant’s attention so she can go look for your order. Be prepared to wait 20+ minutes on weekends.
Update: NO gluten free bagels here! I read an old review that they had them so we were hopeful. However, the regular bagels ARE worth the line. 😁
Delicious bagels & the iced coffee is a nice simple slightly sweet brew. Ordering process and waiting time is decent. Prices are very fair considering how big the bagel are with the generous amount of spread. Bacon, egg & cheese bagel is *chefs kiss*!! Could easily be shared between two. Highly recommend!!
The hype is real!No joke, there was a line out the door when we stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning, but luckily the flow was quick. We had a bacon, egg, and swiss cheese sandwich on a whole wheat everything bagel. It was a large portion, as expected, and amazing! Although we chose a whole wheat bagel, the texture was still chewy on the inside and firm on the outside. We got it toasted as well, so the cheese got all melty.Their iced coffee with almond milk also hit the spot. Would return!
The line at Best Bagel & Coffee was very long but their bagels are worth the wait! The employees keep the line moving smoothly that you arent waiting for too long. First bite into my bagel and I felt an explosion in my mouth, it was so good! I cant wait to go back and eat it again. Would definitely keep coming back here whenever I am back in town.
Great bagels for a decent price! Quick service and friendly staff too. The menu is a little difficult to comprehend but definitely worth it!
I ordered here before to my job on Grubhub and they came earlier than the designated time, which I loved. Two days ago, I had came 20 minutes before my job and was a little anxious because the line was very long. But they’ve exceeded my expectations. I was able to place my order, pay, and leave the store within 5-7 minutes. They work extremely fast and you can tell the difference in quality of their bagels compared to Dunkin Donuts or a local deli which are usually extremely hard and chewy. Will order from here again.
A NY landmark and must go if youve never been. Waited in line for almost 30 minutes and my friends and I were so happy we did. We ordered the breakfast sausage platter, blueberry bagel with cream cheese, everything bagel with cream cheese, salmon and lox, bacon egg and cream cheese bagel. Everything was so delicious. Between the 8 of us we only finished 4 items and had to pack the rest. The wait is definitely worth it. I feel the dough ratio in the bagel is perfect here. Outside shell is tough and crispy at the same time. I saw if youre in the city definitely check out this spot. Its worth it if you love bagels or fresh baked goods.
Incredible bagels.Packed, seemingly at all times, but it only took 5 mins to get the food as service is quick.Went twice for breakfast and had the bacon, egg and cheese bagel both times. Fantastic! I only wish I went at lunchtime as they look amazing as well. I would struggle to choose as there are so many options, most of which seem delicious. I must also mention the cinnamon buns. Fresh, hot and delicious. Perhaps the best I have ever had. There is limited table seating but you would be very lucky to get one in the morning.
Really, really good bagels. They werent joking about the best bagels. The coffee is alright.
The best bagel Ive ever had. Enough said. 5 stars
Very clean and nice staffs. In the busy morning, I had to ask a question about my order, they were very kind to answer my question and provide very professional services.Food is good too!! 👍🏻My kids are 6,5, and 3; they all loved it!!My husband loved Smoked Salmon Sandwich.Bialy is also tasty!!Blueberry Cream Cheese can’t go wrong with anything!!Awesome!!👍🏻👍🏻Due to COVID19 there’s no dining, but you can schedule your order to pick-up or get it delivered through UberEat and such. Now,If you are traveler with a car, there’s no parking lot for this facility. Street parking is available but need to find a space. So I recommend to walk. lol
This place lives up to the name. Best bagels. Nice and fluffy. The smoked salmon was delicious. Spreads are great too. Coffee is okay. Come from the bagels.
Probably the best bagel shop in the area. Not surprise the place has a name “best bagels and coffee”. The place is usually packed but the personnel is quite fast so waiting time is no more than 10 minutes. Bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese is one of my favorite, just try it once. Cappuccino was too sweet, couldn’t drink it, just don’t take it. I recommend this place to all my friends who stay around.
Wouldn’t say this is the “best bagel.” Bagel is just meh. Mine was dry. The coffee was good. (Vanilla latte)
Great bagel spot located near Penn Station, it’s about a 5 minute walk as you get off the train. I got a smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese, capers and red onion. The bagel was great and also massive, they don’t skimp on the toppings. The coffee is your standard drip coffee though and nothing special at all.Personally I prefer Russ & Daughters for a NYC bagel but the convenience of this place can’t be beat. Be prepared to wait though as the lines can get crazy long.
The line moves faster than youd think. Even if you dont have a lot of time, the team at this bagel shop are efficient and know how to make a great bagel. My family of 5 was in and out within 20 minutes. Ok, so its not lightning fast, but the line was out the door when we started. My mom loved the fresh orange juice, and we all enjoyed the different bagels we ordered.
There is usually a line up all the way out the door but it’s worth it. The bagels are very big and delicious. The smoked salmon bagel is the popular one which I really liked. They have many different combinations, spreads and breads. They also have omlettes and other types of breakfast but obviously famous for their bagels.
It is literally the best bagel. They nailed the name. If you want to impress someone with a true NYC bagel, take them here. The bagels are so fresh, and also gigantic. I can’t say if the coffee is the actual best, but it’s certainly good. The bagels though...they’re drool-worthy.
Overrated IMHO. Huge line for a simple bagel.
Delightful service. Best Bagel & Coffee is above average. Great tools for thought. Very Nice Servers. Good Catch. Fine Responsivity.
Scrumptious! Such a doughy bagel in the ~best~ way (see what I did there?!) Would recommend grabbing ur fave bagel and CC and heading over to Herald Square 🥯
Best bagels in NYC! We got here at about 10am on a Saturday morning and the line was only a few people out the door. It took us about 15 minutes from arriving at the shop to receiving our bagels. The lines are a little confusing, but we just followed the people in front of us. The first line we encountered was to place our orders, from there we were given a receipt, then we were led to the payment line. After that, everyone just stood around waiting for their numbers to be called. The bagels itself are massive, but very soft and chewy, with the perfect crunchy exterior. The fillings are very generous and delicious! Many many MANY options to choose from!I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone wanting a satisfying bagel. Although seating is hard to come by, and the shop itself is very crowded, it is worth it.
I ordered a huge bag of bagels, a breakfast sandwich, coffee and oj online. It all arrived via Uber eats by bicycle courier at my hotel. On time, fresh and delicious.
This was my first time eating New York bagel, and now I cannot live with any other type of bagels. I love chewy bread and I got exactly that here. Its the right amount of chewy so your mouth doesnt get tired. It came with a healthy serving of bacon & cheddar cream cheese. Not skimpy at all!Skip the philly cheese steak sandwich though. They use American cheese instead of cheese wiz, so thats an automatic no.Im not a local, so I really didnt know any better before coming here. I have no idea what Im going to do if I find a better bagel spot. Might just die of happiness.
Wonderful place! The bagel, cream cheese and salmon was fantastic. Only problem is the lack of seating.
GOOD bagel, not great. Long lines are supposed to be worth the wait. Its a good place to eat, very popular. I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted egg bagel, a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee. It was a sandwich from my youth. Hit the right notes. There was just enough filling to be the perfect commuter sandwich without feeling cheated. No one will mistake the coffee for a high end brew but it was fine for a breakfast deli. Feels like theres a bagel shop on every block in Manhattan (there are TWO on this block!), but if I needed a daily bagel shop this one would be fine.
When we got there, there was a line out the door and I thought we were going to have to wait about an hour. However, it was the fastest moving line I have ever seen. The egg and cheese bagel sandwiches were warm and delicious, and the hazelnut iced coffee was also amazing. There’s a really cool industrial interior. Highly recommend.
I thought that Bagel Factory was the best until my daughter told me to try this one, oh my world best bagel EVER!!!
Really good bagel with quick service. Sausage egg and cheese bagel was large portion. Bagel with cream cheese had more manageable cream cheese portion compared to other bagel shops. Side of bacon was a very generous portion.
Always a long line. But definitely worth to wait!I love their blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Its pretty hard to find blueberry bagel in the city, when they have it, it doesnt taste good.I think best bagel start their blueberry bagel about a year ago. When I found out, I was so excited. And it taste super good. And they sold out quick too. Make sure you come early!
