My rating is entirely on the one bagel I eat (2/5). Other stuff may be great. So to not tank the overall review I rated it 3/5.I ordered a toasted everything egg bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was a 2/5. I dont recommended. Bread was cakey. Egg flavor was subtle. My favorite egg bagel (and overall bagels) in NYC is from absolute bagels in upper west side (they dont make everything egg bagel though). 5/5Thompson square bagels are a 4/5 and a good alternative.Ill be trying out esse bagel and Daves bagel in the future.
I went to Bagel Boss at 7:00am. It was clean and of course uncrowded. They have a wide selection of bagels. The bagels had just come out of the oven so they were hot and soft and delicious. I got two plain with cream cheese and a cinnamon raisin with scallion cream cheese. So good. Id definitely go back to Bagel Boss.
This place has fresh and delicious bagels. We enjoy it every time we go there. My favorite is an everything bagel with olive cream cheese.
Zero stars for bagel Boss. the owner of the store was called because we didnt get everything we ordered. He is very rude. The order was for the nursing staff. the owner has no respect for the hospital staff. We order from Bagel Boss all the time . There is no reason whats so ever to be rude to any of us hospital staff we just wanted what we ordered. smh
Oh - My -Goodness is all I can say to give this place a YES! YES! And a YESSSSSS!!Absolutely excellent experience even from the outside window which the beautiful pastries and decorated muffins and cupcakes inticed me to walk in and caused me a double take and a mouth watering ever so delicious experience and then to walk in and receive such excellent, courteous service! I took pics to show my father who has worked as a baker all of his life what a magnificent bakery and good looking store..the brownies, danishes, coffee cakes and everything I purchased down to the red velvet cupcake absolutely delectable.. the varieties of bagels and toppings are definitely a heaven for bagels.. I am going back and I would recommend this place to anyone if your meeting up and want to have a bite .. bagels and coffee.. a date... A treat.. here is the place to go! this place lives up to their name Bagel Boss !
I walked in there. The store was empty except for two workers. I tried to order and they ignored me. Went to Davids bagels down the block. Excellent service at Davids. Will never return to Bagel Boss.
Best bagels in NYC hands down. Super fast and friendly staff. Voted best bagels in New York for a good reason.
If you are looking for a great bagel and fresh fixings; get yourself over to Bagel Boss. Best bagels in the business!
It was my second time there this week. Pastries are fresh and customer service is excellent. Had to give it 5 stars.
Quick breakfast run of a egg and cheese on an everything bagel! The bagels are always soft and tasty. I do also enjoy their muffins and now I like their double chocolate one, very moist and melts in your mouth. The place is clean as I see the workers always cleaning. The latino fella who works the register is very polite and attentive. The lady, an older woman, a bit pushy and a bit rude, definitely not a morning person, so it seems. Other than that, I still frequent the place! Try the muffins!
Good coffee and bagels on 1ave and more,Not a bad place to sit have lunch and watch the rain
Quite possibly the best bagel shop around stuy-town. The bagels are always delicious whether you want a smear of cream cheese or a pizza bagel. The other bakery items are pretty good as well and always worth adding on if you want a solid confection.
The service is very good that social distancing the prices are superb I love the rainbow bagel
Great service and variety prices a bit on the high side...but its Manhattan
This location has more selection and a nicer vibe than the 14th St location, but the staff here are way more rude. Pick your poison.
Good place for coffee and morning breakfast at least for me.
I had a large mushroom and barley soup. It was,so spicy too much black pepper. I couldnt eat it and threw it out. I should have complained to the person in charge. Bad mistake.
Food is good...variety of cream chesses available
Customer service was terrible as I waited to just buy a bagel and coffee, I was ignored than an older man came in an was taken care of before me, which I don’t care but, how quick was it to ask him what he needed while I waited before even being greeted. The counter person had a attitude as well as the rest of the staff. First and last time I’ll spend my money on this bagel shop.
Best egg sandwich in town. Get it on a roll
Haven’t eaten here since I was a child. I’m 36 and I don’t recognize any of the new establishments so, I stop back here at Bagel Boos. I had the coffee shop tuna on an everything and added red onions and jalapeños to it. Friggin amazing!! The service was fast and friendly. I’d come back for sure!! Leaving with a kinish as well! 😉 MICHAEL was my server FYI.
Place was clean. Food looked fresh. Oooh the raisin bagel was tasty & my split pea soup was good..
Great western omelette on a bagel. Really solid but hard to rate the bagel itself 😅
Good food. Good service.
Disappointed. Learn how to treat people with respect.Last time Im buying from them.
Best bagels ever!! A breakfast paradise !
The bagel 🥯was stale and hard I will never buy from there again and my butter was not melted
Amazing service!! They saved my tail when I had less than an hours notice for a Kosher pastry platter order. HIGHLY recommend, cant thank you enough!
Best black and white cookies!
Lovely people and good food😍
Went tonight around 7:30pm and they were closed. Completely shuttered up. Guess they’re not 24/7 right now and haven’t updated their hours..?
Didnt get what I ordered. Please, if you hear the customers order (twice, loudly) and you can not fulfill the order because of the religious beliefs of the owner of the store, please, warn the customer that they should not expect the order to be made correctly.Bacon, egg, and cheese may not be kosher, but, neither am I.That said, the food was delicious. The service was fine (besides the above mentioned complaint)
This is a must stop every time my wife and I come to New York. My wife asks to come here strictly for the rainbow bagels. They have pretty much anything you could ask for. Lots of variety, great service, one of the best bagel shops in NYC. If you havent had the opportunity to visit here Id definitely recommend adding it to your list.
So very very nice to have a clean, well-lighted placed to grab an exceptional bagel, a jolt of hot coffee and a hospitable ambiance to sit for a bit and let the world keep spinning on its own. Bagel Boss is a very lovely place to drop the weight of the world (outside the door), come in and, as we say in SoCal KB (kick back).
Google says open 24 hours. It is closed with no posted hours at 9pm. Very disappointing.
This place is open 24hrs a day. They have great coffee and amazing bagels. They have a wide variety of specialty cream cheeses. If youre looking for a quick breakfast or a light lunch, this is a definite win. Their prices are not too steep but also not the lowest in town. The staff is always pleasant. The only negative I can speak of is the ordering area is quite cramped. Id definitely recommend this location.
Priced a bit higher than the “other” kosher bagel place in town but very good. Service is amazing and they are super fast! Bagels, smoothies, danishes, muffins and of course COFFEE are all 5-stars!
We have ordered from Bagel Boss (for catering) at least half a dozen times. They are outstanding. They do an great job, deliver on time, and quality products. My only complaint is I wish the lox was cut thinner. Otherwise. I highly recommend
24 hour bagel place with awesome options. Process are reasonable and you can get good food there. Great place considering the location. My go-to spot
Delicious bagels and large selection of dairy anf seafood items to have with your bagel. We were at hospital on East 16th st and this deli was very convenient. They are open late and the staff is gracious and friendly. The coffee is also good.
Delicious Food
Great food.... hate the 3.5% cc fee
Rainbow bagels!!! Yum
On a week long vacation in Manhattan, we decided we would only eat local, and try new places every day. We cheated ourselves and ate at BB twice! Each time ordering different breakfasts. Would recommend BB to anyone looking for a fresh enjoyable pastry or bagel.
Popular 24-hour kosher delicatessen kitty-corner around the bend from the ER at Mt. Sinai/ Beth Israel and the central hospital. Great pizzas. And sandwiches. Plus a slew of cookies, pastries, cupcakes, and deliciously baked goods to eat with coffees. Several salad makers too. And breakfasting items for the early birds. Great for the all-nighters working graveyard or the moonlighting nightclubbing critters that need something to mosh on ... after the partys over ! Quick !
I wasnt pleased with the food, but even less so with the service. Lets just say they have a way of letting you know youre not like their typical customers.
Came in here at 4am on a Thursday. The man was so nice even though wewere quite loud. Our bagel was full of flavour, and he gave us some avocado on the house. Generous helping of cream cheese, highly recommend for a quick and cheap bite to eat.
I cannot say enough good things about this place, and the people who work here. Living close by this has become our familys neighborhood favorite for a quick bite.I would eat the Farmers Wrap everyday for breakfast if I could...
Not kid friendly at all.. no room for stroller. Even to order. Was hard to get in, the cashier made a not nice comment bc it took us a long time to get out, bc it was tough and narrow. The food was good though
I wanted a New York bagel. This was slightly better than a store bought bagel. I also got a blueberry turnover that looked amazing but was very dry and had barely any blueberry. Wasnt impressed.
This place has a lot of different kinds of bagels, pastries and a breakfast menu. Im mean they even have rainbow bagels, different kinds of spreads to put on your bagel, great food, there is nothing that you want find that not delicious here. Only drawback may be the price, but other than that its a great place to have your coffee which they serve here, sit down and enjoy.
One of the advantages of eating at a 24 hour restaurant is that the food is constantly moving, so everything is fresh. Not so at Bagel Boss. A simple meal of tuna on a bagel with a side salad was horrible. The bagel was as hard as concrete, and the salad was moldy.
Great service 24 hours a day! Bagels are fresh and hot, great selection of cream cheese (including tofu options!), and they make to go boxes of coffee for meetings!
REALLY EXPENSIVE FOR A BAGEL14 dollars for a bagel!
Their food is just excellent. Freshly prepared their Bagel with Cream cheese & scallion is on a complete other level. I could eat this everyday. Too bad I was in NYC for only 1 week and wanted to try other restaurants. Among the breakfast places I tried they are the best. Went there 2 times. Worth it both times. Location is great too. Very close to Grand Central only 8 mins walk. Highly Recommended
I had been a longtime customer at Bagel Boss, so it was disconcerting to be denied access to the bathroom after placing an order. When I complained to the owner, I expected him to be reasonable; however, he defended the employees action, saying he would not allow mentally ill people, drug/alcohol users, or unhygienic people to use the bathroom. I emphasized that I am none of the above, but the owner said his bagel shmearer has an uncanny ability to recognize behavior that may not be obvious to others. Being disrespectful to a regular customer will drive that customer away, but libeling a customer could result in legal action.
No thrills, but if youre looking for a quick fix kosher spot you came to the right place.
Went here for just a bagel with veggie cream cheese. Really disappointed in the prices, totally absurd. I ordered a low card bagel ($1.75) with low fat veggie cc. The woman rings me up for $6 and some change. I said how much is the cc???? It was FOUR DOLLARS AND EIGHT CENTS! How is that even possible? I paid for it because it was already toasted and made. Never again will I give them my business. The prices aren’t even listed for the cc so if you are charging $4 for a spread on my bagel... you should probably list it.
Everything you expect from a real Kosher Bagel shop. The bagels are perfectly made nice and soft on the inside with lots of different flavors. Also an assortment of different flavored cream cheese.
Open 24 hours, very clean, and the food is top notch.
First time here. Staff was not friendly/welcoming.... They don’t sell regular pork bacon... Just vegetarian bacon whatever that is.... It tastes horrible... Not an American regular Bacon, egg, & cheese....
Freshly baked goods. Friendly staff. Good prices.
The best place to grab a bagel in the morning.
Highly recommend French Toast Bagel. It is amazing. I always bought a dozen to school and shared them with my classmates. They are obsessed with that. The environment is not very good, its always very cold in the winter. And I think bagel is a little pricey. Though they have student special in the morning, they dont have student discount. They open 24 hours, so I can comfort myself in the misery night with bagels!
I love their smoothies
Great tasting choices open 24 hours
The worst i spent $4.00 on each bagel and they were hard as a rock... U could feel how hard it was i couldnt even bite into the bagels i had to throw them out... I cant believe for the amount of money they charge they would service hard bagels like that... Never again... It was my first time and last time going there...
Very nice selection of food.
Typical NYC bagel cafe. Has great whole wheat and multi grain bagels! I enjoyed the lite lox spread. There is usually a long line in the morning, but service is fast and great.
Different flavor of pizzas
Best Bagels! Made fresh each morning. Also had their delious pizza.Staff is very friendly.
Bagel boss? More like bagel BUST... Screwed up my simple bagel order and then wanted to argue about it. How does 3 everything bagels translate to 2 plain? You cant even deliver the 3rd bagel?! Never again.
With the numerous choices for a bagel-seeking person in the particular area of 1st avenue, I couldnt not give Bagel Boss a shot. It was a sparkly and new looking place, and although the employees didnt seem super happy to be there, the line moved fast and I got what I asked for. The bagel was pretty solid, although the everything bagel I got was a bit soft for my liking. A lot of the other bagels looked right to me so maybe I just got a bit of an underdone bagel. I wont judge a place on one bagel so that wasnt a big deal to me since it still tasted good. However the cream cheese was super cold which I tend to not like. All in all, for the price they charge I felt like I should have got a better quality product although by no means am I saying it was bad. A solid bagel, but I have got better stuff for cheaper at a more consistent rate from Davids Bagels.
Always Enjoy My Breakfast here. Very friendly staff. A menu with breakfast & lunch specials
Love this spot when Im in the area! Coffee and bagels are great!
Tasty danish. Pleasant services
Only reason why Im writing a review is fantastic customer service.
Their gazpacho is literally pico de gallo mixed in pizza sauce.
Wonderful local eatery with high quality fresh food. More than just a bagel.
Good bagels. One of my regular stops for breakfast.
I was skeptical of Bagel Boss because I have to say the name is a little cheesy? But I was pleasantly surprised! Each bagel is $1.1 but it is huge and solid. They have all the regular flavors and tons of cream cheese flavors. I went with the crowd recommendation, lox with light scallion cream cheese. The sandwich is $4.5 so it is a little pricey but it is very filling and they dont skimp on the cream cheese.I would like to try other cream cheese here.
Nice people love there knish off the hook.
Great food and service
Great tasting bagel, but I ordered walnut cream cheese, Spanish guy couldnt understand my order.
This 24 hour bagel shop is best in the neighborhood near the mount sinai hospital, very convenient and clean bagel shop. They have a large variety of call kinds of h as gels and spreads . Sandwiches and panini is awesome and mouth watering .Staff is very helpfull and always smiling.Must try shop
My experience was interesting. I went in on a Saturday, 2/2/19 and one of the owners, an elderly woman became upset. I figured it was because the store was becoming crowded. As it came my turn on line, I placed my order and remained at the head of the counter. She then said in a very loud voice cant you people move any faster, she is like a f*ckin fat spot at the counter! Yes, Im a plus size woman of color.. Joe, a customer tried to change the shock by talkin about the weather. The salad, coffee was fantastic but she was not.
Saw this on a hoodclips street fight video. Good bagels.
Blows away was a bagel. These are the best bagel place in all of Manhattan
The employee didnt remember our order so we waited 10-15mins. Finally, said something, little did we know how rude the employee would be saying, we did not order from her and that its not her problem. Oh okay lady lets just check out those security cameras. Manager asked if we wanted our money back and that the bagels could be made fast but at that point you lost all service.
The sweetest workers, so friendly and good food
Friendly staff thatll great you with smile, grab a rainbow bagel and 1/4 pound of cream cheese :)
