Prestige Automotive was great to work with when we had new A/S tires installed! They received our shipment from TireRack.com, held the tires for a few days before we could bring our car in, then did a full installation (new valve stems & computer spin balancing), as well as swapped our newest old tire onto our full-size spare tire rim, all for a very reasonable price. Their workmanship is professional and efficient. The front desk staff is extremely courteous and helpful. There is also a very pleasant waiting area, which is highly unusual for NYC!

This shop was very good last 2 times I brought my car. This time there were a few glitches: I arrived at 8:30 and was given the choice of waiting for an hour plus or leaving it with the understanding that itd be finished that afternoon. By 4 they had just started looking at the car and I was told it would be finished the following day. That was ok but couldve been a problem if I had needed to use it right away. Then the next morning I was told it needed a new battery....I gave the ok, went to pick the car up and while sitting in a backup on the west side highway discovered that the radio wasnt working, so back to the shop! I had to leave it again because I had to rush to a class. When I came back, I was told the mechanic had forgotten to reconnect the radio after changing the battery. All in all, not terrible, but I wish they had communicated better about the wait and had been more diligent in checking the car.

So pleased!They Lifted the car and showed me what my issues were with my car leak.They also showed me other issues to be aware of that could be troublesome down the line.Mike the manager was great to explain the parts being replaced and whyMike Was transparent, not pushy but professional.Even drew a diagram of some parts to explain how some of the car parts workedI feel confident in their work and would definitely recomend them and go back.Thank you Mike and Prestige auto.👍👍-Anthony M.

I was in the middle of teaching a class online so one of the men walked out to my car parked down the street to get my credit card and help me pay so I didn’t have to leave my class. I went here three times to get a my state inspection. Each time the woman told me to come back a specific time which I did, and each time they could not take me. Meanwhile I just got a ticket fir having an outdated inspection. They were rude and defensive. This used to be a good place but has gone downhill.

We bought an old cheap car (to get us through COVID lockdowns) that has been nothing but trouble since we got it. Weve had to bring it to Prestige for numerous issues (A/C replacement, tire sensors, oil change, battery issues) and each time we got great, reliable service. Very nice, professional staff who make having a lemon almost bearable!

I shouldve written this review a long time ago. My experience here was excellent. I just needed an inspection and the wait was reasonable, plus they had me wait in my car and came out to tell me when I could drive my car up. Price was right and experience was fine. Nice people and a good dog in the office.

So this is an interesting review. I dropped off my Range Rover Sport to have a hitch installed in addition to an oil change and wheel alignment. They made a couple of mistakes with the hitch and created an issue with the spare which they ultimately fixed with an authentic part from Land Rover. It cost me most of the day but in the end they did the right thing regarding the price and service which speaks to their honesty and integrity. Everybody makes mistakes but it’s how they are handled which makes the difference. I will use them again.

I still own a 1995 Honda Civic and this is the only place I trust to perform maintenance and repairs on it. Their service is prompt. Their prices are reasonable And they have pointed out critical repairs that the Honda dealership failed to notice. I had a great experience getting my 2003 Honda Odyssey inspected as well as getting the broken AC fixed plus new tiers. This was my first time with Prestige Automotive on West 133 street and they were so easy to deal with. The front office was quick and clear in communication both on the phone (Wanda) and checking in (great guy whos name I didnt get). The mechanic, Mike, was clear and to the point on what needed to be done and how long it would take. The entire experience was 5 stars plus. Ill be back for next inspection for sure and for additional repairs if needed.

Mike runs his business with excellent automotive repairs and personalized customer service. Hell take care of you either by appointment or if you just drive in (if hes got room at that time). He makes it all work. If anything is less than perfect, he makes it so without fuss or added charge. Nice clean climate controlled waiting area (brand new this week), too. All staff from family in front office to all of the mechanics are lovely to engage with. His prices are competitive and his location is great for UWSers. He does state inspections too. What an asset to the community!

Prestige Auto was simply amazing! I have a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 that is a bit finicky to say the least. Mike was easy to work with and let me know what was going on every step of the way, He even sent me pictures via text message to better help me understand the issue. If youre looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic with affordable rates even for a Jaguar than you found the right shop.

Id never been to a mechanic that told me the parts he inspected were working fine and didnt need to be replaced, and that he wasnt going to charge me anything. I have now. These folks were friendly and honest and easy to communicate with. Im impressed. [More recently, I asked Prestige to check the right front tie rod on my aging Dodge Grand Caravan which an inspector thought might be loose. Mike had the car up on the lift immediately, and about ten minutes later showed me that everything was fine and sent me on my way. No charge, and the whole thing took less than twenty minutes. Amazing. Just the fact that Im posting this is amazing. I never write reviews. -- Even more recently I was in for a new battery. Had such a nice time chatting with fellow customers I didnt want to leave.]

Great place to have your car repaired - honest, friendly and knowlegable people.Visit #1 Inspection. Instead of the usual Upper Manhattan runaround (we dont have any stickers, blah, blah,blah - meaning you arent a regular and were not going to do it) I was treated very well and the inspection was done immediately.Visit #2 Brake noises (I had been previously informed that the pads were almost shot). I leave the car at Prestige and get a call back that there is nothing wrong with brakes and instruction about how to tell when there is. When I ask for the bill - NO CHARGE! Unbelievable.Visit #3 Shock and Strut replacements. Leave car at 11AM ad receive call back at 1:30 informing me of price and additional work needed. They tell me they might not be able to get it back to me the next day but will definitely have it the day after. Receive a call the next day at 3PM that car is ready. Car drives like its brand new and price was very reasonable and the same as quoted.This is the repair shop I have been looking for since Columbia tore down my old one. It is a pleasure to deal with a staff that knows what they are doing, works with you and always tells the truth. Plus, theyre nice people

I highly recommend Prestige. They have serviced my car four or five times in the past 18 months (its a 2007 Subaru Outback with more than 190,000 miles on it) at more reasonable prices than the midtown garage I used to go to. They are also very flexible about keeping my car until I have time to come pick it up. But it is my most recent experience that prompts me to write this review. I am getting ready to get rid of my car and was hearing a troubling rough noise and vibration whenever the car was running that made me worry the car might stall at any moment. I took the car to Prestige and told Mike that I couldnt spend much money on it because I wasnt going to keep it much longer. I asked him to do only what was necessary to make it safe to drive. Turns out it was a leak in the exhaust system (which he diagnosed immediately upon hearing the car). When I came to pick it up he told me they tried to seal or patch the leak, but it didnt work. He remembered that I didnt want to spend much money on it and told me that since replacing the part would cost about $1,000 he didnt recommend doing it. He told me the car was safe to drive, though the noise would get louder. No charge. Zero. Not even for the labor to try to fix the problem. I have continued to drive the car for two months and am now about to give it up. I cant recommend Prestige highly enough for their honest and customer-oriented service. Plus everybody I interacted with was friendly, warm and helpful. You wont be sorry if you take your car to Prestige.

I came for annual inspection and was admitted on the spot. The mechanic found that both bulbs of my rear plate number were not working (probably after a bump from the rear that I received at a stop sign a few weeks ago). I agreed to change them. I got passed for the inspection and a bill for just the cost of the bulbs (on top of the standard inspection fee). No charges for the labor, although the mechanic had to remove the license plate in order to get to the bulbs and then put it back – about 10 min work. The mechanic and the receptions were very courteous. The place was clean and even a coffee machine for the customers in the waiting room. I was extremely pleased with the service. Highly recommended!

I had driven my daughter back to Harlem from New Hampshire. While in NYC, one of the tires on my car developed a slow leak. I was facing the thought of driving 300+ miles back to NH the next day on the donut spare tire or trying to get the tired fixed before heading back. At 3:30PM I drove down to Prestige and asked if they would be able to take a look at the time. Within half an hour, they had gotten the car in, found a small hole, plugged it and charged an unbelievably low price. Pleasant, courteous, and honest service.

I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here! I moved from CT to NYC this year and needed a mechanic for my 20 year old vehicle. Not surprisingly, I encountered a complicated issue with the exhaust and needed a local mechanic. They recommended a couple of different solutions and worked with me to ultimately fix the issue for no additional charges even though it was significant additional labor! They went above and beyond and couldnt have been more courteous, professional and accommodating. My vehicle is running great, I will be back here for all my service needs. I had a great experience with Prestige Automotive recently. They did a great job of keeping me informed about the status of the cars repairs and even though it was clear that they are quite popular they were still able to get my car in and out very quickly. Having picked the car up today, everything seems to be in perfect working order. They also repaired exactly what needed to be done and did not try to stick me with a bunch of other unnecessary stuff. I have been using Prestige Automotive for more than 20 years, originally a referral by BOYNTON Body Shop (W 101st St, also excellent). Prestige keeps my now 13 year old Saab running smoothly and did the same for the prior 12 year old model. They are very friendly, professional and do great work, always with a very fair price. Like in a lot of other repair shops, at Prestige Im never afraid of being ripped off. They are very honest - rare to find in the car business - and go out of their way to accommodate their customers finding even rare parts.

I am the kind of person who knows absolutely nothing about cars and as a result I am very uncomfortable in car shops. My car, badly hit while parked, was towed by Prestige. From the moment I walked in to Lous shop I knew that all would be OK. As mentioned in previous reviews, the place is surprisingly clean and organized. Lou is extremely knowledgeable, able and kind. I knew I was in good hands and for that I am extremely grateful.

Just horrible how they reap me off..they charged me 1,320.00 dollars and there was even a part Power steering hose and they said they changed it, when my car was checked by someone different it came out that they didnt replaced that part at all, they charged me for a fuel tank pressure sensor 198. Dollars and they part from hyunday cost 68. Dollars original...belts that cost 18 dollars I was charged 42 each...and all that not counting with what they charged for labor...just a reap off because thats what they do to women thinking we will never find out...I will be taking this to court definitely...

Great, honest repair shop.I had a safety/emission inspection done at a different garage (2000 Auto Electric), which claimed I needed new control arms. I took the car to Prestige to get a quote for the work and they determined that the other shops claims were fraudulent. Prestige quickly performed a re-inspection, I got my money back from the other shop and I havent had any issues with the car since.I will be going back to Prestige.

This is the best automotive body shop Ive ever been to. The manager, Mike, really took care of my concerns and made me feel very much at ease. One morning I discovered my driver side mirror was partially pulled off of the car. I was unable to use it when driving. I researched a shop near my job, and made an appointment. The manager, Mike, called me personally shortly after to discuss the issue. The next day I brought my car to the shop. Being a single woman, I was concerned that I might get taken advantage of, and overcharged.But from the first moment that I met Mike, he really made me feel comfortable. After our greetings and initial discussion he made sure I was able to get coffee (which was a vital need), while I waited.Mike and one of his workers was able to fix the problem. He was so kind, he didnt even charge me for the work!I was blown away!!! What a kind deed!! I plan on bringing my car back to have some other major work done. Called the morning of and took me in immediately. Wiper blades were working inconsistently working and the staff fixed it quickly (loose wire connection to motor). Put on a great show for me while I waited (though ruined by another client who chose to have a phone conservation on speaker right next to me). He didnt charge me and wouldnt even accept any tips. Amazing service, almost unreal. Would absolutely return! Thank you so much!

To good to be true? I stopped by regarding remounting a fog light on my 2005 Toyota Camry. They raised and remounted for free and replaced a brake light bulb. Yes I left a tip for both the sales guy and workman, Ill try them out for future service needs.

I had my car towed here when it wouldnt start during a snowstorm. They made my life as easy as reasonably possible, at a price that seems comparable to non-Manhattan places.

The shop took care of my ‘05 Prius quickly and transparently. Bringing it back soon for some other repairs. They do a lot of Prius work for the NYC fleet so I recommend them for that in particular.

Terrible place !Have a Mercedes Wagon and took it in to have transmission fluid changed out.Left and transmission was running lumpy. Went back to discuss and owner not available so left message for him to call but he never did. 3 days later transmission broke down completely! - Took it into a transmission shop and they said wrong transmission fluid had been used - so had to replace the transmission.Called back to them several times - but guess what! they never called back.So if you value your car - DO NOT TAKE IT TO THIS PLACE

It used to be easier... you could leave your car and pick it up after work. Now you need to wait for it. But the workmanship is solid, and they stand behind their work.

I am so pleased with Pristige Auto!!!!! I went in because my car was shaking above 60 and needed an oil change and belts tightened. They could have told me anything was wrong with my car and I would have believed. Instead, they balanced my tires for FREE, did the oil change, rotated my tires, and tightened my belts for free. I now have my go to mechanic in Manhattan. I couldnt be happier

I have been to Prestigue Transmission four times now.Each time they have been very professional and gotten my car back on time.I use a wheelchair and drive a hand-controlled van with a ramp.Not every garage will take a van such as this. They really know what theyre doing.

Good Afternoon, I came across this shop on the internet. I needed an oil change, so I called and ask if an appointment was needed, I was told no appointment needed & the shop closes @ 5, I asked if I could bring the vehicle after I got off work @ 4:30, Mike stated “Come & well see what we can do. I decided I would go on lunch & leave vehicle. I arrived & gave some info of other concerns I had. After work when I went to pick up the vehicle, Mike gave me a very detailed reason I was having the other issue, & he repaired the issue & even gave me a visual demonstration. I tried to leave a tip, he refused & only charged for the oil change. Mike stated no appt is needed if I had any other issues, just bring the vehicle back. I found Mike & Nevar to be very professional, courteous, & helpful. No more going to Brooklyn, I have found my new mechanic!!! Thank you again Mike & Nevar.
