A mix of artisanal creation and stuff that can be bought from Amazon
Nice and quiet place. Beautiful antiques...
Definitely overrated and not as authentic as it ought to be.
I absolutely love this store. It is full of delicate, sophisticated artwork and beautiful craftwork. The Makari shares a variety of artwork and their support of current living artists which is very rare in todays day, especially in Manhattan. The store is a peaceful and tranquil experience from the hustle and bustle of the city. This store is refined and a truly special experience!
My experience here has been consistently wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and gracious, and the store itself is well stocked and organized. Many thanks!
I used to purchase Hasami pottery from here. But every time she over charges me. If I am allowed to, I am going to post the receipt where she charged me $20 extra on my bill in a tricky way. Make sure you check your receipt well before you leave. Otherwise, I used to love this store.
I was really excited to come into this store to find a gift for one of my friends who loves everything Japanese. As I walked into the store, I was on the phone with my very sick mom who had just called me moments before. Instead of letting me browse the store owner yelled at me to get off the phone. Totally rude, abrasive and uncalled for.
Beautiful objects, mostly ceramic and also some original wall art from various eras. Kind staff.
Very cool little store with interesting items and a nice atmosphere.
An authentic Japanese shop; contemporary and antique treasures
So many beautiful treasures.
Not actually too much special about this place. Certain items can be bought anywhere specialty kitchen and glassware are sold, and other items are very overpriced. You cannot touch anything!
Exquisite pieces, delicate taste, refined service
Best incense and glass hourglass pieces
