Have you ever thought to yourself “hmm I wish there was a place that would change my oil and then purposefully detach wires and connectors to my car so it wouldn’t run right. Also I wish this place would do things wrong on my car three times in a row and still insist on charging me for it!” ? If you have ever had these exact thoughts this tuffy’s is for you! After two months of consistent problems with my car after taking it to this location I took it to a car dealership. The dealership explained that I was experiencing these problems because someone had left wires and parts detached. When dealing with this location of tuffy’s the manager always made me feel that I was at fault and somehow my car was magically falling apart all of a sudden. I was taken to the cleaners by this location and I feel that it was because I am a woman. The tuffy’s location in Orlando that I had frequented before I moved to the New port Richey area was always great and I didn’t have a single problem with them. As soon as I moved here and had my oil changed was when my car started to have problems. After taking ny car to the dealership my car hasn’t had a single problem since. Stay away if you are a female.

This is an excellent repair facility. They promptly diagnosed my vehicles problems and gave me different options for repair. Their work was quality and the price was very fair. I highly recommend them.

I like to think the head mechanic over at tuffys checking out my AC after I had my accident with my car and he told me what was wrong with it so I took it and called my insurance company and told them what happened took it to Sun Toyota to get an estimate but I like to thank all the guys over there very very much and yall take care semper five may God bless each and every one of you Robert skeen

You know, I dont trust many mechanic shops in the area, but Tuffy is the exception I was willing to make when I saw how great and knowledgeable they were. They found problems wrong with my vehicle that the seller did not disclose with me, whatsoever. Tuffy really took the stress of car repair/motor swap off my plate, and assured me they would do everything they can to resolve any issues I was having with the vehicle. Everyone was very honest, understanding, and helpful; offering to do whatever they could, to make this a smooth and easy process.

THIS AUTO CENTER IS TERRIFIC! I limped in with a flat tire praying that I could just get a quick patch. Spoke with Bill, the manager, and he got my car right in. They noticed how worn BOTH my back tires were and pulled them off the car and brought me back into the shop to show me. The sidewalls on both back tires were so worn they were actually shredding and separating from the belts. I needed two new tires immediately. And of course, with the car I have, the tires are a special size and consequently cost a lot ( I hate my car-I was forced into it) so I was beside myself. I mean, Christmas, Covid, not working.....not a great time for a big expense. Bill worked hard making phone calls; not only to find my special tire size, but also to get me a good price. He is a DECENT HUMAN - a good man - which in this day and age is REALLY saying something. The shop (Tom) even gave me a ride home so I wouldnt have to sit there for couple hours while the tires were delivered and mounted.I told Bill that I was going to start looking for a better used car soon and he said that if I found one, to bring it in so the shop could go through it to see if it was sound, reliable, and a good buy. I mean, how refreshing, who does that any more? What started out as an awful, scary experience turned out so well I would not hesitate to recommend Tuffy Tire & Auto Service to anyone.

Do not go here. Having to come back a 3rd time for brake repair, only because they are paying for it. Patronizing service. Dont waste your time.

I have lived in Trinity over 20 years. Usually have our vehicles repaired at the dealership. I recieved the run-around from the maker (on a warranty covered part) took it to Tuffy and they resolved the problem. It broke again (no fault of theirs). I took it back. They replaced and fixed the issue and did not charge me again. They could have but, John did the right thing. Honest, dependable and full of Integrity. Thank you John and the fellas at Tuffy. I really appreciate yall.!!! Understand folks this repair was difficult to reach. They had to pullThe part off all over again (very time consuming) and still guaranteed the work. I will always return (Hopefully without my sons Kia Soul) and refer anyone in need of automobile repair and maintenance.Thanks Again

I had an oil change appointment at 2 arrived 10 minutes early and 40 minutes later they decided to take my car back after I said something because a car that arrived 30 minutes after me was taken back. The front desk guy had the nerve to be rude and say that well it’s just like a doctors or dentist office and you just have to wait! Which I’m sure was a pun since I was in scrubs. Poor job on Customer service. If your running late let your customers know. I will never waist my money here again! I will also spread the word.

I went to the shop this morning for a second opinion on a timing gasket cover repair due to oil leak. The dealership advised that the repair would be 2700. I took it to the Tuffy at 5409 Little Road in New Port Richey for a second opinion and the nice gentlemen advised that there was nothing wrong with the engine. They said they wouldnt touch it and turned a 2700 bill into 0. Needless to say I was very happy with the outcome because I felt like the dealership was attempting to get over on me with the various things they wanted to repair along with the gasket cover. I would advise that you take your car to these people if you have any issues or need a second opinion...they are good and honest!

Very good service from very nice people! Brought in our 2016 Mini Countryman S which was sputtering and not accelerating properly. Diagnosed as needing a tune-up. Kept me informed about the status of our vehicle and repaired it promptly and for the price quoted.

These are the most amazing people ever. Me and my fiancé were driving to work and our battery died. We were about 10 minutes walking distance from the Tuffy and it was 7am and it doesn’t open until 7:30am. My fiancé talked with the manager as he was coming in and he not only sold him a battery but also had a guy (Ken) drive him over to our car AND change the battery for us. That is seriously the definition of above and beyond. We are so insanely grateful.

Took my car there for an alignment, my car drove worse than ever afterwards. I took it to the dealership I purchased it from shortly after and found out the alignment was never fixed that I paid for. You lost my business. We brought both cars in regularly for oil changes being close to home. Ill gladly drive the extra hour away now to know when I pay for a service it will actually be done.

BEWAREMy car was blowing cold but it took a while to do so. I took my car in to get a free AC Freon check. They got back to me 15 min later saying it was low and my car needed an AC recharge for $150, which I declined. They then put the Freon they took out back into my car. As I drove off the lot my AC started hissing, which means the Freon is leaking. I hadn’t heard this sound prior to visiting Tuffy and now my car was blowing nothing but hot air.I took it to two other places to get the Freon checked and they both said it was full. One of the mechanics said when Tuffy put the Freon back into the system they overcharged it and damaged the compressor.If it’s free, it’s too good to be true. Go somewhere else for an AC service.Update: I need a new compressor despite getting a new one in September. If I could give this business less than one star I would.

This is not a bad review, its an honest review. I paid $600 in just labor to replace control arms on my BMW X5 here because it was shaking real bad. Got my car back from Tuffy and still had shaking. Thought it was axles, but after having the car instected for another $100. They just found that Tuffy never tighted one of my bolts on the control arms. Which means it was never test driven, i would NOT recommend this shop as i was quoted later $400 for the same job and they would have probably would test drove it and saved me an extra $100. Never again will take my car to tuffy lol

Great customer service by the guy at the counter and the mechanic. Reasonable prices, place was clean and had coffee in the morning. The wait was a little long but that is to be expected. I think if you live close they will give you a ride home or there is a McDonalds within walking distance. Great hours. Highly recommend.

Took my car to another shop that totally botched my allignment and i came in here this morning and my cars allignment is spot on .... Thank you for your attention to detail and for taking care of my issue as fast as you did .... 100% recomend this shop

Appointment setters Beware!! I booked my appointment on line for 9am, I was the 2nd person in the parking lot this morning. Others gathered at the door but I sat in my car for 20 mins. I had an appointment so no worries. When I entered the doors there were 5 people ahead of me, still no worries I dont mind waiting.. WRONG!! There were two customers behind me, so total of 7. The last person in line up and asked, I have an appointment at 9 should I wait in line? The attendant then states IT IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ON SUNDAYS!!!! The web page will allow you to book the appointment, it does not state first come first serve. So BEWARE if your booking an appointment you really dont have one so be standing at the door. As for me, my time is valuable and I will take my business elsewhere!!!

Ive been using this Tuffy for more than at least 5 years. They will go above and beyond to make your experience exceptional. My most recent visit was a trying one. My vehicle gave them a challenge in figuring out the exact problem but with Jay and Seth behind it, they finally figured it out. LOL Them two can figure anything out in my opinion. I cant say that they experience was a total success. There was some discrepancies when it came to my quote. The lesson I came away with is to get EVERYTHING in writing and if its over the phone, RECORD it. It turned in to a he said she said deal and of course, I lost. It wasnt a huge difference but in this day and time, every penny counts. BUT, will this stop me from going there in the future? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I couldnt imagine taking my vehicle any place else for service. These guys know what they are doing!

Great group of guys! Work was completed very quickly, very professionally and neatly. The team has a very good knowledge of working on cars and trucks. Custom work is outstanding. I installed exhaust cutouts on my 72 GTO, brought it to the shop and they completed the task that I was not able to do at home. They were friendly and did not try to sell me anything. Had a problem with my 2005 Explorer. Lost brakes on the way home from Wesley Chapel last night. Called Tuffys, spoke to Jay, he told me to bring it right in. Dropped it off and a new brake line was installed. They originally quoted 3 hrs. labor, ended up being 2 which they adjusted the quote, and modified the bill. I appreciate my experiences so far with Tuffy. Jay provides excellent customer service and is nice to deal with. I have felt like the price was high before, but they have also offered discounts and coupon options that make me feel better about it. They will work with you! And I think people forget that cars are not cheap! Also, it makes me feel more confident when I understand the nature of what they are working on. They have taken the time before to take me in the shop and show me what needed repair on my brakes and why. Also, the other day I was driving in the rain and decided I really needed to get my tire pressure checked, my light was on. I showed up at the shop, realized they were about to close, and they still checked all my tires and added air, on the house! AND if you need a ride home or somewhere after drop off, they will take you. I appreciate you Tuffy crew!

They took the time and helped me when they were busy and I had never been there before. They were very nice and solved my problem. I will go back again.

I had a problem with the tire rotation after having an oil change. It was some time before I could get back because I was out of town. However when I brought it back they switched the tires back for me at no cost. I was very appreciative and impressed with their handling of the matter.

I don’t live in Florida. Or have ever been here but my hard working parents have. This place took advantage. Of my parents and ran a check through twice. Robbing them of 840.00 twice in one week. How ridiculous you couldn’t even fix. Their van correctly the first time. This place don’t. Deserve any stars. Learn to fix cars the correct way stop Stealing from people. .... this place is a joke.

I would NOT recommend at all. I took my car there 3 times. The first 2, service was good. The last time I went in, I went for an oil change but was told I’d need new tires and some engine work done which all totaled to $800. I reluctantly agreed. A few weeks later my car starts driving weird - I can feel my brakes aren’t working as well and it feels like a tire is shaking. I take the car to a different place and big surprise, Tuffy put the WRONG size tires on. So not only did I not even come in for a tire change but they didn’t even have the correct tire size to sell me in the first place. Then, I was told they don’t balance and re-align when they change all 4 tires and that it would be an additional charge if I want it done. I WOULD NEVER TAKE A CAR HERE. These men are just trying to take whatever money they can talk you out of.

The service here is top notch. The manager is really cool and willing to help in order to acquire your business. The mechanics are helpful and profesional. No issues here. Prices are fair, at no point, did I feel I was being overcharged or misguided. If they can fix it, or they cant fix your car, they will tell you and advice you the best outcome.

I had been here once before had a great experience, so I came back. This time was far less than a good experience. Came in to get an alignment and an oil change. Left car seemed to be losing power. Called to let them know immediately. They asked me to bring it back in, but I couldnt make it back before they closed after I got off work. Car seemed fine after work even the next morning. That evening after work an oil leak was brought to my attention. After further inspection the oil cap was missing! I called and of course they were closed! Called at 8 am when they opened and talked to the same guy, he said when can you get it here? I drove here. They took my car back and said theyd make it right... Well see... Now I wait..

Great place to get your oil changed for a fair price.

I had to find another mechanic as my former guy, whom Ive had for the last 20 years, retired. Well, these people are my choice.1) The guy answers the phone,2) you ask a question, hes got an answer, 3)you schedule a day for your car.You can stay, and watch what they do in the lobby while having coffee flavored coffee in their lobby. Down to earth service/down to earth guys. No frills.None of this getting jerked around from dept to dept, repeating yourself over and over again, just for them to tell you someone will get back to you (2 hours later) And thats just to make an appt.Glad I gave these guys a chance after passing their signs all these years.

So this is the usual place I go to for oil changes and I had a tire changed once there. I went in there today to ask them if they could do a small repair, if they could reattach a piece of plastic on the undercarriage of my CTS. They said sure but itll be awhile maybe 45 min before they could even put my car into one of the bays. I said it was fine and waited in the lobby. Within 20 min they handed me my keys said it was all finished and have a great day. I was surprised at how fast they were able to do it and I told him I still needed to pay and he said no charge. The group of guys working here are awesome and I definitely recommend this place! Kudos to them!!!

Took my truck for a standard oil change. I was in the area and chose this business. Two months after the oil change, the truck developed a rear main seal leak. It was a slow leak so it wasnt an emergency issue, but would need attention soon.I bought rear main seal stool leak and a new filter and oil at a parts store. When I went to change the filter, I realized the careless or incompetent mechanics at Tuffy had put the wrong filter on on my truck. It was about half the size of the filter that should have been there, and due to the wrong size, it was way too tightly screwed on and then during use, became tighter due to pressure and heat.Changing my oil myself cost me $75 because I had to get someone to get the filter off without damaging the threads for when I install the new one.Why didnt I take it back to Tuffy? Because it would have been foolish to trust them to do the work correctly after they proved to me already that theyre not capable of performing one of the most simple tasks.I do not recommend this place. While the guys I interacted with were friendly enough, the work they performed caused me more money and problems.Update...While I do appreciate the owner making a response to my review, I do not appreciate the insinuation that the right filter was installed due to what the paperwork says, and that I just dont know better. I kept the old filter. I can absolutely prove its the wrong one. While the paper work may obviously say the right one was installed, the oil filter pulled off my truck tells a completely different story.

I went here yesterday for an oil change. I brought a coupon and was there for roughly 30 mins. The place was clean, friendly and was given prompt service. They did not haggle me for other services or treated me bad like Pep Boys. I am definitely coming back and highly recommend them.

I called the storw and talked to john the manager,gave me a quote and i said what is it gonna cost me he gave me a price, then when get there it jumps up 150 dollars. I guess thats how they get ya at this store. He really needs more training on how to govr quotes on the phone. Will not recommended this shop to anymore of my customers that need exhaust work

Brought in my car for an a.c. evacuation and recharge, they took my car into their service area 2 minutes after I arrived. Price wise I called several other garages specializing in a.c. repair, Tuffy completed all the services needed on my a.c. $50 cheaper than any other garage. All the mechanics are very friendly and accommodating to reach and every customer. Bring your car here, you wont be sorry you did.

My uncle owns a shop down in dunedin and i never have the time to get down there. So i use Tuffy for certain things and i have nothing but good things to say about them. They’re honest, know what there doing, and arent there to rip you off. I only go here because its just as if i went to my uncles shop. Highly recommend this location!

Well nice attitude from the employees but the downside is that regardless you have an appointment they dont care and they work first come first serve. That happened to me and I had to wait an hour after my appointment time till they get my car in.

Congratulations, the awesome Tuffy crew did it again!These guys are great, very courteous, professional and concerned about solving your auto problem to your satisfaction. After having our minivan jumpstarted, we arrived at Tuffys with a dead battery. We were immediately greeted by Andrew Benjamin, who is very friendly and knowledgeable and remebered us from our last visit. Even though their parking lot had other cars awaiting service, he immediately dispatched a tech to diagnose our problem. Within a very short time, while we ate our McDonalds lunch there and enjoyed their state of the art coffee plus machine, our vehicle was ready to hit the road again at no charge due to Tuffys warranty. All the employees who came in contact with us were exceptionly welcoming, polite and friendly and treated us like Tuffy family. Andrew Benjamin is the perfect point of contact for this New Port Richey location since he assures you that all will be fine and with the help of his mechanics, he keeps his word. P.S. As crazy as this might sound, Im almost looking forward to my next auto maintenance/repair need just to have carte blanche with that ultramoderN coffee machine again. My step-son took his car here because it wouldnt start. They said it was the Body Control Module (BCM) and quoted him $1300. Tuffy said they contacted the local dealer to see if it was covered under warranty since his car only has 37,000 miles on it. Tuffy informed us that the dealer said the warranty has expired so they wont do anything for us. We had the car towed TO the dealer to get a second opinion. The dealer confirmed that the BCM was bad, but said its covered under the warranty.Any repair shop that lies to customers about verifying the warranty status of a car should be shut down for fraud.

I took my chevy van there for a simple tune up they looked at it and told me that the fuel pump was not working wich was false i had just put in a new fuel pump and had computer repaired for the fuel pump they said it could be a defect in the pump so i went along with it, then they called me and told it was ready after paying for the work i tried to drive it home well it broke down, i called them and while waiting for tow truck i took engine cover off they had not even clean top of motor it was full of leaves and acorns it was a nest on top of motor they did not clean the motor off they took the van back again and then they called me again i pick up van got it home by way if tow truck and behold i take engine cover of again just to see the same nest they did not clean a thing i was so upset how can you do a simple tune up with out blowing motor of to change spark plugs i called owner and till this day no return call very unprofessional will never go back again, the manager kept telling me that he quit a job because they would over charge the people guess what they over charged me over $ 1200 for a basic tube up.

Great service and great prices. My only complaint is when the rotated my tires the tech must have not been paying attention because I was having really bad vibration and when I stopped at another shop to get it checked out we found out that the treads were pulling apart and that was 2 days later.

Went in to get a valve stem fixed. No part was needed. They did not charge me and they fixed the stem that was already there. The whole thing took 10 min. Great job!

I have been getting my car and my wifes car serviced at Tuffy for the past 8 years with mixed results-about 6 or 7 months ago they changed managers and mechanics and this place is now a real pleasure to go to(not that it is one of my favorite things to do) as the people there seem truly concerned about the people and the cars-even my wife is now comfortable going there to get service as she knows the guys arent going to give her a song and dance about unnecessary repairs-it isnt often that I write a review but this place has changed 180 degrees-for the what it is worth category these guys really seem to care

We have visited for oil changes as well as major repairs. Car works amazing after the fix, not a single complaint here. They fixed a problem I complained to the dealer about, and the dealer said, meh, that car will do that because of the transmission type. I cant see any reason to go elsewhere now. I have a limited production import ( VW EOS ) so as expected, parts are expensive and from the dealer. I think the labor rates charged were fair and reasonable for the work done.We dont drive every day so we drop it off and come back another day to pick up.I think they get the work done quickly. They called us with diagnostic outcome and didnt pressure for go ahead. We finally called back three days later with green light and major fix was done the next day.
