This was out first time visiting this restaurant but it will not be our last. We enjoyed the breakfast. I highly recommend the French toast. It was light eating sweet fluffy clouds. The atmosphere was cute and the severs were very friendly.

We sat on the patio, which is pet/dog friendly. Dont be confused or scared by the sketchy long alley side entrance to the patio. Youre going the right way. Keep going. Its just a little further. Around the corner...

Had the best meal at this impromptu brunch. The wait was less than 10 minutes on a Saturday. The appetizer (fries with crawfish) was amazing and the coffee was very good. They even have boozy drinks. The pink mimosa was also delicious. Everyone’s meal was satisfactory. We even had our photo taken to add to their unique wall of Polaroids. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a delicious brunch near Magazine street.

This was the first restaurant we ate at in New Orleans and it set the tone for the trip! Great food, unique style inside and good service. The restaurant has Polaroid pictures of previous guests on the walls which is a great touch. Definitely recommend this place!

The menu at Slim Goodies Diner was huge! There were various options from breakfast items to standard diner fare. I went with the Philly Cheese steak. The food did not disappoint as everyone at our table was pleased with their food. The staff was very friendly which always adds to the dinning experience.

My husband and I came here for breakfast while touring the Garden District. The food was good, and our waiter was helpful/attentive. I ordered the Don (cannot remember the entire name of the meal) with one sweet potato pancake and a regular pancake, turkey sausage, and eggs. This meal came with coffee also, and they refilled our coffee regularly. We had a great time at this establishment, and we will return when we come back to New Orleans.

My daughter and I had a meal here earlier today. My daughter had what was called the Guatemalan, which she said was very delicious. I had a BLT with fries my fries were very crispy love them like that. The service was great. The place was adorable. They also had platanos,🤪❤️. This is definitely a place you want to go.

My waitress was sweet, on point, and accommodating. The establishment was decorated in such a way that it could boost the morale of depression. The food was prepared very well, and had the authenticity of Louisiana. I drank two Mimosas with my meal, and I felt that good New Orleans vibe the whole time. I recommend this place to anyone in the area who would like the diner experience with the authenticity of the city 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Not a terrible experienceI will start off by saying that this was an interesting little hole in the wall entry. It was super small and the COVID restrictions make it even smaller. This small place did have decent service from staff attentive toward refills somewhat. Party of 5 peopleFood / DrinksThe food was really good. 3 out of the 5 of us ordered omelets which were stuff full of meats, veggies, and cheese. This Diner had your average drink selection, nothing spectacular in that front.Overall ExperienceIt seems odd for an experience. Given there were 5 of us they sat us at a really small table, but once asked if we could combine another table to give us a little more room it wasnt a problem. I know it wasnt their fault that the A/C unit was not working, but I wanted to note that they took measures to this by adding fans in different positions to make it a little more unnoticeable that the A/C unit wasnt working. It did seem weird that they had a bucket sitting on the floor in the main common area to dump drinks in after cleaning tables which to me pointed out other flaws around the Diner (only reason why I removed a star). All and all this was an interesting place to adventure to. It wasnt our first choice of the day, but a little glad that our first fell through to have this experience. (Plus getting to see all the pictures around the Diner of other experiences was pretty cool)

Food is good here. However, after today’s inconvenience I don’t think I will ever return. I called in and placed my order at 9 AM. They tell me 30 minutes it should be ready. Which is already excessive. I get to the restaurant at about 930 AM and they tell me the food hasn’t even been started yet so it should be about 20-30 minutes. I was raging upset because that would be a hour total since my original phone call. I couldn’t wait because I had a meeting to go to. So I attended my all day meeting hungry because I counted on this restaurant for satisfactory. Very inconvenient and I’m highly disappointed.Update:Just met the very nice owner of business. She was genuinely apologetic and eager to make a better experience. I will give this restaurant another try. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The owner is equally enjoyable.

I ‘ve driven past Slim Goodies on Magazine St but never ate there until today. I have to say I should not have waited so long! The food was delicious. I had an omelette with cheddar cheese, goat cheese and ham. It was absolutely incredible! I also was happy to see all mask requirements and vaccination requirements being enforced. The food is amazing and large proportioned. It’s a funky unique and cool atmosphere inside. The food is very creative and interesting options are available for those who like to adventure out of the norm. Highly recommend!!

Just what we needed. Staff is attentive, food beyond tasty, portions hefty, and prices great. Loved it UPDATE: came back for my second time and again was beyond happy with everything. This time I got the crabby wife and yall..... absolutely delicious! I had the same waiter this time, as well. He had the blue crab apron and his name was panda on the receipt. Ha! Any ways, he was great and the food was great! Oh and get a bloody Mary. Just do it.

The pancake was burnt, the cook was cocky and belligerent about having to precook our food, the pancake was undone. They want you to pay for food that is not cooked well. The results of my experience at Slim Goodies was not a good look and the nasty attitude and bad performance from the cook made me sick. Literally. See photos

I make it a point to go to Slim Goodies every time I travel to NOLA. The food and atmosphere always add to the experience of the trip. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The crawfish etouffee is like nothing I have ever eaten before. This place is a MUST GO when you are in NOLA.

Food was great and the portions were large for a fair price. Our server, Lauren I believe, was awesome and the patio was a very cool place to hang out and enjoy a morning coffee.

Wasnt sure if it was worth it to leave a review as I hope that my experience is not representative of the every day but Im very disappointed. 50 min wait for a meal although seemingly well staffed and then the entree was textured but tasteless. Ended up sharing my colleagues plate. Luckily, my entree was comped. My colleague didnt want to tip but I left something as Im not sure what happened to delay our food. Dont know if Ill try this place again. Cool interior though.

Classic New Orleans diner digs with great vegan options right on Magazine Street! Plenty of chrome trim, counter seating and flat grilled pancakes & hash browns gives Slim Goodies Diner 👍👍 for authenticity. Talk about a great Sunday brunch spot before a Saints game kickoff!

Try the Doc Horn breakfast Special or the Americana omelet. This is basically a breakfast place, opining at 7:00am and is a favorite of actors that are just getting in from night shoots on Magazine or other street people. Saw Hunter Biden in one morning. He even posed for a picture.This please is famous for being the first restaurant to come back afterKatrina. With no electricity, they served meals from a grill set up on the sidewalk and powered by hot coals.

Waiter took our order and didnt show back up until food was put on the table an hour and a half later, then immediately dropped it off and left again not even getting a chance to ask for refills for a table of 8 people that was just drinking water. Not attentive at all. Atmosphere was amazing but the staff was not

Great dinner coffee, light, and they keep it coming! The dish I had was good, the eggs, bacons and biscuit were really good. The hash, and beans were really bland. Not perfect but still good experience the server was very friendly and kept my coffee full.

What a great place to have breakfast in New Orleans. The etouffe was delicious. I would highly recommend it. The service was kind of spotty during the morning rush hour but no big deal. Worth it for the food. The crew was hauling a** in the kitchen. Lots of respect for them.

I would write zero stars if I could! I went there today and ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. The waitress forgot to turn in my order so it took over 30 minutes to get it. While I was waiting all I could hear was this very loud man who kept screaming vulgarities. I assumed he was a waiter there and I almost complained because he was so vulgar. Finally they serve me my food I took a bite of the eggs and almost vomited because the cheese was bad and very sour. I then took a bite of the hashbrowns and they were burnt and tasted horrible. I didn’t ask the waitress for a separate plate so I can remove the chicken fried steak and I explain the problem with the other food. She just came over and brought me another plate. I took one bite of the chicken fried steak and it tasted like rubber. I explained this to the waitress and asked for my bill and said I didn’t want anything else. She then brought over a $17.04 bill. I asked to speak to a manager and lo and behold the person who was screaming all the vulgarity‘s while I was waiting for my food happened to be the manager. I then explain to him what was going on and he said well I’ll just delete your ticket. As I was leaving I realized I forgot my mask and walked back on to get it. I then heard the manager tell another waitress that he has to delete this ticket for that mother fu?$er over there. I said excuse me sir I’m still right here and can hear you. He then started screaming at me. I just walked out. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THE WORST FOOD AND MANAGEMENT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! literally order take out, guy tells me its gonna be 30 minutes so I said okay il wait, I ended up waiting an hour and thirty minutes for JUST A BURGER! I was already being nice to them saying I understand if there is a little bit of wait for food but when people kept telling me 10 minutes it turned into 20 an then another 10 minutes again, ON TOP OF THAT THE BURGER WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, OVER COOKED AND BURNT AN ONE LITTLE SLIVER OF ONION. Honestly I would of asked for refund if I hadnt already left an gone back to work an then saw the quality of my food for the amount of time I had to wait on top of that the price I had pay! This was a terrible experience for someone who appreciates local places an supporting local spots, nobody should have to wait that long for JUST A BURGER!

As your read below our first experience was not all that great but today was the second chance and slim goodies as definitely earned a five-star rating service was exceptional the food was solid and right on we both walked out completely bloated and very happy thanks slim goodies!************This is a cute restaurant great looking menu where were so excited to come here for breakfast our waitress was awesome and the ambiance is truly New Orleans but the food and the management leave much to be desired my partners food had a foreign object in it first thing you saw picked it out with the fork showed it to the waitress they took his plate off but nothing else manager didnt come talk to us and that to me is a total lack of respect and service very disappointed we had planned on making this our breakfast place cuz theres so many things on the menu we wanted to try but we will never be back again and truly cant recommend it....... Okay Im amending my one star to a 3 star review on the way out spoke with the owner she was truly mortified and apologized profusely for not getting back to us before we were done she gave us two free mails and we will be back to try it because the menu does look so good every place deserves a second chance hopefully this will be changed to a five-star review in the near future

The atmosphere/decor are def a 10/10 but the food was disappointing. The Eoutfee was so salty and the waffle was soft. The $10 bottle of champage defffff made up for it tho. Still, a must try/visit.

Came in starving (for breakfast) and it still took me awhile to order because every offering looked absolutely delicious. Settled on The Sinkhole, an overstuffed omelet with pretty much everything in it. Left with a full belly and a smile on my face. A must-visit on my future trips to New O.

I took my friend out to eat here on his last day in New Orleans. I drank three mimosas but they were small and I wasn’t still drunk by the time I got home. The food however! Ah, how breakfast always takes my tepid tongue’s breath away! I only chose to bestow the sautéed spinach with hot sauce this time. The four servings that comprised my meal were each spectacular in their own right, and complimented each other no matter which, way, or how upside down one decided to compound- Ah, what fun! Sad to see a friend go though.

If your wait seems a bit long to get into this cute little place, stick it out & youll be glad you did. Yummy food, great service, good music & fun decor start the day off right. That iced Irish coffee didnt hurt any either.

I have been coming here for a while now because the food is pretty good, and I like the atmosphere. However, I don’t know what their process is like with to go orders because I have now experienced multiple accounts of my to-go order taking over an hour to prepare. Today I called in at 9:30 to place an order of 4 meals to pick up at 10:15. I feel like 45 minutes is a fair amount of time; l I arrived at 10:20 thinking I was late, and then had to wait 15 more minutes, leaving at almost 10:40.Previously I ordered delivery (10 minutes max away) and food arrived after around 90 minutes. I let it go because I figured through the app I used the process could take longer, despite the 50 minute maximum estimate they gave me..

So happy we stopped here for breakfast on our trip. They had a very diverse menu that encompassed all of the favorites of NOLA. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I felt like a regular! The food and drinks were spot on!

We were intrigued by the menu and everything sounded really good. Upon arrival we waited almost an hour for a table! The food was subpar and bland. I got the Tex Mex Slammer, the hash-browns had zero flavor, same goes for the black beans, which seems like an impossibility since even canned beans have flavor! The grits tasted like chewy water and made every southern lady turn over in her grave! My bf had a pancake that was burnt... All in all better to go elsewhere!

I went for the vegan breakfast. Someone else on here said it was great. I was told there was basically one vegan option by my server, the tofu scramble plate. The scramble itself was bland and unenticing, though. A piece of toast would have gone a long way, but I was told there were no vegan breads.

Great place for breakfast or just hanging out having some coffee outback in their “Garden of Eden” patio.Eclectic offerings like the Creole Slammer, hash browns covered in crawfish etouffee two eggs and a biscuit, is an awesome way to start the day.

When we got up this morning and heard that the Food Channel had named Slim Goodies #1 Diner- Louisiana, I knew our choice for brunch was going to be a good one. When you walk-in off of Magazine Street, its a bustling Diner Cafe with a long counter next to the kitchen, a seating room to your right, with tall ceilings and a great eclectic vibe brought on by the mostly handmade customer oriented artwork on the walls. Then we saw a slice of heaven known as their patio. A large bright open sunshiny event full of color and Southern warmth. What a great space.The menu grew on me. First I noticed their breakfast and lunch were based on traditional American ingredients. Eggs and bacon, etc. Then a 10 inch pancake went by, then a goreous burger, then ----The Gods Spoke. As I looked deeper, the menu took our American traditions to a whole new level including many of the cajun and southern traditionals like etouffee, crab balls, southern biscuits, savory cuisine that was going to make it difficult to choose - indeed. The etouffee was excellent, crab balls wonderful.The Food Channels right, this place was fun, reasonable and EXCELLENT!!

Was staying in a near by AirBnB, came to this place daily for brekky. Awesome. Delicious food, fresh ingredients, simple and creative and filling but not overwhelming. Great vibe, friendly staff who keep the coffee flowing very attentively. Would come again if I am ever in the area.

Food was really good and hearty. Had the tofu scramble. The base was hash brown with tofu eggs and 4 slices of tempeh bacon. Big portion sizes. The chef greeted us when we walked in and also asked us how our food was. Very nice atmosphere and customer service. Had to add a bit of salt to my food but everything was good and filling.

The place us very nice, and unique, with pictures all over the walls, and the waitress was super nice and friendly, but we did not like the food. The eggs were overcooked, and the food (sweet potato pancakes, with hash browns, and scrambled eggs) made me sick to my stomach, to be honest. I understand that it is very hard to get scrambled eggs perfect, without overcooking them, but overcooked eggs taste horrible. Really liked our waitress though. She was super sweet.

New Orleans, Louisiana ---2nd visit to Slim Goodies Diner ...1st visit around 7am with just 2 other customers, and today shortly before 11am, when chaos ruled ...consistency did not exist at Slim Goodies Diner (for me anyway) ..,really great service 1st time, but bad service this time ...the 2 slices of bacon were chewey, cold & under-cooked 1st time, with the 2nd time 3 slices of perfectly-cooked crispy bacon ...one constant was the hash browns were cold both times, although the 1st hash browns were swimming in grease, but no visible grease the 2nd time ...my over-easy eggs were over-cooked 1st time (hard yolk) & under-cooked 2nd time (with clear stuff running out of eggs when I cut them) ...both servers did not bring me my biscuit/toast until I had eaten a good portion of my breakfasts ...coffee & water re-fills were right on 1st time, but 2nd time I sat with 2 empty liquid holders for an extended period (& it was not because of chaos, as I could see my server standing around) ...prices are high based on food quality & service $$$$I do like the counter-seating snd outdoor patio seating options though 👍day 044 DUSA 2017 (Discover USA)Run-A-Way Bill was here! The staff was great. The food was even better. I went with a large group and they were very accommodating. We were seated outside and it started raining, they found us seats inside where we could all still sit together. And then the power went out...they continued to be accommodating and the food still came out hot and in a timely fashion. I would definitely eat here again. If youre in the NOLA area, stop by Slim Goodies to eat. They also have vegetarian/vegan options.

Crazy good vegetarian hot dogs with multiple veggie sausage options. A little pricey but worth it.-- UPDATE --Owner responded and let me know that I messed up and put this review on the wrong business! Not sure how that happened, but I think this review was meant for Dat Dog! Slim Goodies was also on our NOLA trip, though, and their food was fantastic, too! But like the owner said, dont go in expecting hot dogs and sausages ;^) Go to Dat Dog if you need that veggie dog fix.

Waited ten minutes to be acknowledged by the staff when the place wasnt busy at all. They were too immersed in their phones. Paid $14.00 for the worst tofu scramble I have ever had. I took one bite and couldnt stomach the rest. The other sides were bland and mediocre. Overall I wish I hadnt been lured here by the promise of vegan options. If youre going to offer them please learn how to properly prepare them.

Love the omelets and the slams. The staff is on the ball keeping you in coffee and tea. You can eat at the counter, one of the two dining areas or in the back garden. There can be a wait sometimes but its worth it.

Mmm...it was okay. I had a deep taste for breakfast and the craving wasn’t satisfied unfortunately. I ordered the Doc Horn and PAID for additional food, which was pork sausage. I definitely did not receive the additional. I guess my expectations were too high based on pictures. The wait, food, and price wasn’t worth the wait. Anywho, I may try again in the future.

First time here and I think we caught them on an off day. Hash browns tasted like grease on the backside and were very, very hard and crunchy. Had to get the waiters attention a couple of times. Limited beverage menu. Okay diner food but for the price you can find better.My companion didnt care for the pancakes or hash browns either. Womens restroom has two toilets and a sink with no privacy divider and no lock on the door. Quirky decor, nice staff and located near lots of shops, etc. Great for walking off breakfast later. Try Joey Ks instead!

I do respect that the management did reach out to make this right! ... so I modified to 3 starsI am a flight attendant so I travel and have to eat by myself. It was a very cold day in New Orleans so you had to put your name on the list and wait outside. It is very disappointing when you watch people who come after you put their name on the list and the get seated. I observerd this with two parties of 2 ... not larger parties that need larger tables. When I brought it to the hostesss attention she knew I was still waiting, but of course she is just doing what she is told by the management. Then I proceeded to wait an excessively long time to get my order taken and brought to the table. When it arrived it was cold and melted cheese on top was hard (under lamps for excessive time). I dont normally complain but when I did they were gracious enough to give me a whole $3 discount off a $22 breakfast.
