Im so happy to have discovered this place! The food is superb, and the Ramen has so much depth of flavor! Every bite was different. I literally cant wait to go back to try another type of Ramen. The owner was so accommodating, and very friendly. That alone is a reason to return! Definitely the best Ramen around! Period!
Good like a well-kept secret. If they keep this up, theyll need a larger location. The table and counter spaces are cozy or cramped depending upon ones perspective. Im in the cozy camp, appreciating the attempt at authenticity by this noodle startup. The service is efficient and very cordial. Food is excellent. Its an eat-and-go place. Dont expect to linger. They need to keep the wait line moving. Thats a good sign for the success of this restaurant.
Great food. I ordered the oxtail rice bowl.Customer service was good and I will be back. Covid protocol was also good
Stopped by Kin for an early dinner on April 24, 2019 to try the Meow Meow Bowl because of others’ recommendations. Yum! I loved that the egg in the dish was soft boiled and that they let the flavor of the rich broth shine through without the addition of a lot of extra seasonings. In addition we added an order of the daily dumplings which were very tasty. Super appreciative of the good service, too.
After a recent menu revision I was only a teensy bit apprehensive to see what was up with Kin. Honestly I was worried about nothing, the food was stellar and the recent menu revisions are just a sign of a young restaurant staying fresh and creative. The wings are better than most wing joints, and the new appetizer we tried was phenomenal. Be aware that the location is a little tight on space so coming during peak dinner hour may mean a slight wait but youll be richly rewarded for your patience. The same great service and AMAZING food were present, this ranks as a must go if youre in the New Orleans area.
Funnily enough my favorite food I had while I was down here in NOLA. The ramen was a bit heavier/savory than most other ramen shops Ive had the opportunity to partake in. The real highlight though is their dumplings. GET THEM.
At first glance I was a little disdained by the restaurants outward appearance. Parking was non-existent, but being as we were the first ones there, it wasnt too bad. Entering the resturant was a clean experience; very small and cozy. Our server was very awkward and seemed a little incompetent. He took care of us just at a slow pace. Now the food was well worth the wait. Very well dressed plates and dynamic flavors. Would have no problem waiting for up to an hour for this food. Overall very nice experience.
Staff is very friendly....not hesitate to tip twice lol. Taste is awesome!
It was alright, the flavor was alright, the soup was lukewarm, it was not hot at all, dining area was small, seemed a little tight, not in my top ten ramen restaurants. The appetizers was tasty but a little on the pricey side, four dumplings didnt do much for hunger but tasted fine. The soup was flavorful but it felt like it sat around a little while before they brought it to the table
Consistently stellar dining experience, upbeat service, and ever-evolving menu make Kin a HUGE favorite! If I could rate it 5 stars every time, I would!
You might come here for the ramen, but you might be better off just sticking with several orders of chicken wings. They are dope. Ive had one of their ramens that was great (barbecue brisket) and another one that was just okay (with a chicken thigh). The menu changes quite often, and youve gotta love the authentic feel of the place.
I was craving hard for ramen and decided to give Kin a try! Kins selections is definitely a mix of the Southern and Japanese influence which is very interesting! For appetizers:-Spicy Crispy Chicken with in house sauceThe spicy chicken had a very strong and overwhelming sriracha, tangy taste, I wouldnt say that it was my favorite.-Chicken pot pie dumplingsThey were perfect and had good amount of filling. Not too bad.Ramen:I had the Meow Meow Bowl.It was so flavorful and I really enjoyed the roasted pork! It had bamboo shoots, corn, and The browth and noodles was cooked to perfection.Overall I really enjoyed my meal, the staff was very friendly and I would definitely come again.Tip: The restaurant is quite small so it would probably be perfect for a small group of 4.
Thats a dang good hot bird
Called and was asked to be put on hold for 10 seconds. No problem. I waited 15 minutes before giving up just to see how long it would go. Then they clearly forgot and left the phone off the line. Very professional. Some say its still off the line to this day
Delightful service. Fresh made noodles. Tom yum ramen was pretty darn good, not Thai spicy but good!
The experience is always great. The food is amazing and its the best Ramen spot in the city.
Most delicious ramen Ive ever had
Small seating area where they pack you in like traditional ramen restaurant style. Street parking in a iffy neighborhood but it looks like its being gentrified. Wait staff is really efficient though. Ever changing menu so there is always something new. Although, its kind of rough when you finally settle on a favorite and its gone.
The place, the staff and the cleanliness of the place is very good. But I highly disliked the ramen. Specifically the bamboo straws, they had a special smell and taste I quite did not like whatsoever. It is very personal, many people might have liked it, but I did not enjoy the ramen there. The presentation was very nice. I wouldnt like to harm the reputation of the place as the taste for food is very personal, but I wouldnt eat ramen there again.
I love kins Ramen and dont forget the chicken wings with extra pickles!
Delicious! So happy they have a vegan option now
I am giving this five stars because of the wings and the service! The ramen, in my opinion, is only a 4 star.
Kin moving its menu to a ramen focus was a great decision. The offerings are predominantly noodle and broth focused, with a rotating appetizer selection of wings and dumplings. Everything is incredibly affordable for either lunch or dinner, so with a group, a few appetizers and an entree each are more than filling and not heavy hitting on your wallet. BYOB and add some rum or champagne to their fruit spritzers too!
Asian food and the setting at this spot is very good. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Looking forward to a return visit. Bring your appetite because portions are large.
Asian food at this location - yummy. This place will surprise you. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
Had the vegetarian ramen. I was expecting a broth, but they said that their broth was animal based. The ramen I had was a dry dish that was really well seasoned and the textures were wonderful, but it was a bit too spicy. It was on the verge of being inedible spicy. But otherwise it tasted great. It was kind of pricy since the ramen wasn’t a big dish.
Some awesome ramen.
Great food, great service! So glad yall are open for take-out now!
I was a little disappointed. One of my favorite ramen places is Nomiya on Magazine, and I expected Kin to be even better but it wasnt. I dont want to compare in this review so I will just say, that size of the Ramen at Kin was nice, regular size, but they did not provide with a lot of meat. No options of getting seaweed, pickle ginger or additional bamboo shoots even if you have to pay extra for those items. And if you ask for hot(flavor), they will bring you the Huy Fong foods chili garlic sauce. The broth was not as thick as I am used to, and the flavor was not there. I am very new at Ramen, but it didnt taste like the usual tonkotsu or miso ramen broth. I might go again and try a different ramen, but...
Absolutely delicious, one of the best restaurants in the universe.
A place that puts immense care and pride into every dish-I have never been disappointed by a meal or the service. A rotating menu always has something new and exciting to try. The space is small, so it can be tough for large groups, but they can make it work. I’d just go alone or with one other person and sit at the bar area.
This place has the best ramen I’ve ever had, and I’ll definitely be back. Excellent service, excellent food and coffee. My one complaint is when it came time to pay the bill they gave me and my 4 friends one bill and when we asked to split it we were told to write down who was paying what amount rather than who bought what. This was way more complicated than it had to be due to a tip that was already placed on the ticket, and taxes. But that issue still doesn’t make this place deserve less than a 5 star.
Very tasty food, good portion sizes. We got the Meow meow bowl, dumplings and chicken wings, all of which were delicious. The dining area is very small, with mostly communal seating. Small lunch menu. Not sure what the dinner menu is like. Service was prompt and friendly.
Best vegan ramen I’ve ever had
Love this place. Affordable, warm, and cozy. Service is quick. The place is relatively small, so sometimes it takes 10-15 to get seated, but thats no issue. The wings are to die for. Will definitely come back with friends and/or family.
The atmosphere is amazingly family oriented. Its perfect for family dinners, friends night out, or even date night. The food is absolutely amazing. I personally recommend the house wings (spicy).
Absolutely outstanding! The food is always hands-down incredible, but on my most recent visit I happened to be the knucklehead sneaking in 20 min before close. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, even offering to let me pick the music for the rest of the night. Slammin!
Consistently excellent
Amazing. Everything was SO delicious. Had the dumpling of the day, the fish, and the chicken ramen. The waitstaff was really charming, and helpful. Both servers we interacted with were knowledgeable and very friendly.
Small restaurant. No dedicated parking lot. Very cute, very clean, very friendly. Rotating selection of dumplings, nice ramen menu. Great place!
This is one of my favorite places to eat. I feel so welcomed when I come through the door! Not a single item on the menu has ever let me down!
Great food, I really enjoyed the mango cumin habanero wings. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
Slam dunk every time! Flavors are ever changing and off the charts. We went an hour before closing and they greeted us with an enthusiastic and warm welcome. 10 out of 5 stars!
Meow bowl. Dont ask questions. Just get it in you. If you have religious objections to pork, pick any thing else, but the meow bowl is so savory its like butter. Its almost creamy. Im going to run out of adjectives. Just eat. Youll have to have your own religious experience.
I love this place! Friendly staff, food is always consistently good, and I enjoy their dumpling specials. Do yourself and favor and check them out if havnt already.
Best ramen Ive ever had! Delicious, savory, well balanced broth. Springy handrolled noodles with a satisfying mouth feel. Everything is perfect. Very small restaurant so expect a wait and to share tables. Worth. It.
Nice one
Now this is Ramen! Pricey but you get your moneys worth. Noodles are made in house too by a dude lost in his own world with headphones on. THIS PLACE IS SPECIAL. Like Michelin Star Special!
I hadnt been to Kin since just after it opened. The food then was really good. But on a recent trip, the food was closer to outstanding: rich, deeply-flavored, immense body, and balanced. Just delicious. The pork shoulder, the vegan, and the brisket dishes were all outstanding. I dont have a lot of love for the James Beard awards, but Im glad they picked this place, which was otherwise a little obscure and tucked into a little part of town.
There are only a few nights cold enough for ramen in NOLA, but this is the place when it is. The one with fish is the one to get. Excellent
I love this place!!! My neighbor just told me about it, I went and fell in love. What great food, how have not heard about before now.Well, now youve heard about it to and you have to go!
There once was a restaurant named kin,Where the food was always a win.The wings are amazing,With just the right glazing,They are just the best way to begin. The entrees are mainly just noodles,But the bowls hold all kit-and-kaboodles.With fresh veggies, boss,And a wonderful sauce,Try them all before you say, Toodles. So, when you walk through the door,Be aware you are going to want moreOf the delicious meats,And the crossover treats,For kins food is never a bore.
I love this place, everybody is always friendly, food Id great . Nice little place
The food is good, and the menu changes often. However, for a restaurant that does not serve alcohol, I was dismayed to discover that there is a $10.00 per bottle corkage fee at this restaurant.I could understand this if the facility served alcohol, but since it does not, then that fee is nonsense. I and my other guests have decided we will not be back unless their policy changes - get a liquor license or eliminate the corkage fee.
Started with a savory chicken Marsala dumpling. it was like a gourmet hot pocket in my mouth. The Ramen was very hearty, spicy, smoky, hot chili broth to warm your insides. The beef is thin cut and marbled with fat, the noodles were fresh and homemade that day. This place has a very small sign and a limited menu but they do roughly 5 ramen broth varieties. Im gonna go back and try the rest. Two people racked up $80 bill but its the best soup in town.
Fantastic food. Friendly service. Worth a trip.
Awesome food!
