This is my 3rd tattoo from Aart Accent and now Im looking forward to my next one!! Allie assisted me and she was so professional and she wanted to give me a tattoo Id be pleased with, she did just that. The artist was so laid back and easy to talk to and that made me feel comfortable and confident with my choice to get my tattoo done. The price was great, perfect location, and great music, ill be back soon. Also, the other staff members were so friendly and cool I just cant say thank you enough for this entire experience!!
This place is amazing. Theyve been a part of the city for years. The staff is inviting and easy to talk to about whatever you might want to get done. Stephanie did an amazing partial cover up and killed the lettering for me!

They were nice. But a little disappointed that they were booked up even though the website said they accepted walk ins. And to a extent the did. But for piercings. My advice (for anywhere in New Orleans) call ahead and set up an appointment. Even if you’re only inquiring. The person I was with got a nose piercing and she loves it. She got the second side done and said they were fantastic.
I called ahead to check pricing. I wanted to be pierced for my New Orleans souvenir. Pricing seemed okay. Paid $15 for a Lyft from my hotel to the shop only to be greeted with a sign that says $100 minimum and cash only. Sorry, but not sorry…no. Who carries cash these days let alone that amount of cash. In NOLA? I guess they only cater to locals because I know most tourists - like me - go cash free.
I got a watercolor cypress tree that my artist, Cueves, free hand drew on my arm. I called to get an appointment for the following week and they got me in the same day, which was awesome! I really enjoyed meeting her and talking to her. Its a cash only business, but they do have an ATM on site that charges a small fee. They also threw in a free shirt, so that was a bonus. Ive struggled getting ahold of them since to schedule more appointments, but that may be pandemic related? Ill keep trying.
I absolutely love this place. Theyre so friendly and the energy is great. My artist was awesome I cant wait to go back for more work.
I cant say enough about how awesome this place was. I, my daughter, and my husband all got tattoos, and my daughter also got a piercing. Erica Wedge took care of the tats and they are beautiful! Clean lines, perfect shading, and she was super professional and made it a great experience for all three of us. Colin took care of my daughters piercing and she absolutely loves it! The energy was great, very professional, but still laidback. 10 out of 10, would absolutely recommend Aart Accent to anyone going to NOLA and wanting a tattoo or a piercing.
Stephanie is great, worked me in on short notice for a little souvenir ink while I was in town on vacation— fast work, customized a basic image to fit my request, sharp clean lines, and fun conversation to boot.
Got an anniversary tattoo from J here during our 1st trip to New Orleans and it was awesome. The whole staff was amazing and fun. The line work on our tats is AMAZING best work my hubby and I have ever had done. I wish they were in KC.
I’m not going to speak to the quality of their work, because I truthfully don’t know, but as to their phone etiquette, simply put, rude as can be. When you keep questioning what kind of tattoo I want and make it seem like it’s impossible or ridiculous, then you’re probably too commercialized to understand that some people have their *own* ideas for what they want for *their* body. I chose not to go with them because I don’t have time to be mocked on the phone. I do have time to write a review and let people know what kind of staff they have.
My first experience was memorable. I wanted to step on the wild side for my bday! Got my first piercing! A night to remember great customer service. Place was very clean, Covid protocol was being followed. I was a bit nervous they were so patient with me. Awesome experience!! Definitely will be back when I find courage for a tattoo! I had a guy that did my industrial piercing in October. I caught his name but I can’t remember it. He was AMAZING, absolute sweetheart. The industrial was a pretty painful piercing for me and he made it 100% comfortable and easy for me. I remember he was wearing green cheetah print pants, really cool hair and piercings. I was with my brother and dad(getting a piercing behind my moms back, not the best idea, but she never commented on it) He gave me a pink slip with tips on cleaning and contact info in case anything goes wrong. I want to go back here for my tragus and daith for my birthday and get it on the same side I got my Industrial piercing and would love for him to do it for me if he still works here!!!
This place has had a home in my heart for over 15 years. My original piecer BooBi has left for ATL years ago however I still send friends and those alike here for piercing / tattoos. My only red flag, is this place doesn’t feel / look as clean as it should especially during COVID. The piercing jewelry options all look / are cheap. But if it’s trying to maintain the original tattoo shop it’s definitely nailing it.On street parking. Tattoo area, Handicap accessible. Cash only. ATM on site
My friend and I got pierced by Collin last night and we’re both so happy with what we got. He was so cool and fun to talk to, he cleaned us up good and gave us some sick jewelry, he definitely made the experience more memorable and for that I’m a lot happier with my piercing than I would be otherwise. Absolutely recommend!
Me and my fiancée got tattoos to commemorate our engagement. Allie was super awesome she was great. With everything from the tattoo to the conversation to educating us on why this parlor is important to the tattoo community. Chopper was very well educated on the topic of tattoos. I could not have more pleased with my experience. He answerer every question I had, and much more. I left feeling well informed on tattoo care and the science behind tattoos. He took what I wanted for my first tattoo, and drew something far better than I had imagined.

I got my bridge (area in-between nose and eyes) pierced by Colin and it was done perfectly! Symmetrical, sanitary, painless, professional, and the best price for piercings that I could find in all of the New Orleans area. Colin was very nice, respectful, and overall it was just a very pleasant experience.
Colin is the best! He pierced me and two of my other friends and he made us feel so comfortable. We chatted the entire time and it was a great experience overall. I also love my piercing!!!
This place has been here for years. It has always been a welcoming to tourist and locals. You will feel welcomed when you go there.

Greeted rudely and turned away at the door by and older lady with a bald/buzz cut. She told me the piercing artist is off and wasn’t there and then just stared at me until I walked away.

I had a bad septum piercing done on me at another shop. I had to get it taken out immediately and luckily they were able to take me in last minute. The guy who took it out was Grouch, who despite the name was actually very friendly! He got it out quickly and with no discomfort, and was kind enough to offer me another ring to replace the messed up one. If I were to get a tattoo or a piercing, it would definitely be from him!
My piercings are so nice, didnt get infected, no rejection and is healing just right with the product recommended. 😍!

Me and my girlfriend went and got our helixes done, she also had her ear lobes pierced. We had the piercers Jordan and Colin. They were both so nice and welcoming, we instantly felt comfortable around them and loved their senses of humor. I super highly recommend them.
Super talented artists at this shop. They will check temperatures at the door and provide hand sanitizer. They also require masks. Cash only. Because theyre so busy, and justifiably so, youll want to call ahead to schedule a consultation.
I walked in off the street after having looked at some of the reviews. When I went in I was able to get right in and was also told about the history of the shop! The first Black Female owned parlor in New Orleans for 43 years! My artist, Chopper Pete (@chopperpetetattoo), was great! He is very well versed in tattooing darker skin with color and understands what colors work best! Prices were very reasonable and truth be told, if you are paying for a $40 tattoo you are going to get blow outs and jacked up line work! Prices for tattoos start at $80. Chopper hooks you up with your after care and will assist with any issues you have after the job is done! Go check it out!!

I live in Canada and called the tattoo shop to pre-book for when I were to come down for Mardi Gras!I worked with Kyle and he drew up my tattoo better then I could have expected and ready for my arrival. His work is phenomenal, very friendly and made very comfortable. It was so good that two more of my friends came in for tattoos. Also had the pleasure of meeting Miss Jackie a.k.a the legend. The whole staff made me feel very welcome, they knew what they were talking about and their work speaks for themselves. It’s the oldest tattoo shop in the city! Honestly amazing place and I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you all for making my tattoo a highlight of the whole trip

He was super efficient and confident. One of the most painless and quick piercings Ive ever had. He didnt ask if I approved of the location, though, and afterwards I feel like the piercings arent tilted as I would have liked on my nipples. One is certainly more vertical than the other. Other than that, though, I was super pleased. Would just recommend checking the dots before the needle happens!

After having a horrible experience with another tattoo shop in NOLA we had been trying for weeks to set up an appointment with before finally managing to get one (which was then canceled upon us showing up to said appointment), we found Aart Accent Tattoo. They were amazing, professional and willing to create 3 individual fun little voodoo doll tattoos for us on the spot and complete all 3 tattoos on a Monday night. Steve is an amazing artist who went above and beyond to turn our ideas into reality, salvaging the final ending to our NOLA trip in the process. Go here if youre looking for skilled artists and a considerate and professional atmosphere. 10/10 will go back again on my next visit to New Orleans!

Went in and had amazing service! Tag Anderson helped me out and customized a picture I had on my phone to perfection! The whole staff was extremely helpful and made my first tattoo experience memorable. Highly recommend! My tattoo turned out perfect and better than the image I was thinking when I walked in.
My brother and I went as walk-ins around 10:30 Saturday evening. Everyone we met, and dealt with from the shop owners to our artists Tag and Roc, was friendly. The pricing is fair and the work was beautifully done. This is the oldest tattoo shop in Louisiana and the experience shows. Highly recommend.

The actual piercing was great.... when it was time for me to pay, I was told that they didnt accept credit cards. I see the Visa/MC logo in the door. I was then told that they do normally accept cards but their machine was broken. This should have been mentioned upfront... what if the person I was with didnt have cash
My mom and I were passing through when we decided to get my very first tattoo done in New Orleans as our favorite author held this place dear to her heart. Chopper was my artist and he was very kind and accommodating. I simply walked in, we spoke briefly about what I wanted (I was very specific), then we got to work. Im so very pleased with the experience and the outcome of my new ink. Plus, my tattoo carries the history of this tattoo parlor. How cool is that? Chopper also gave me plenty of advice for whenever I go to get future tattoos which I greatly appreciated.
Allie is the best! My sister and I stopped in for a tat for her birthday! Her lines are so SHARP! She is very passionate about her work. My sis got a cover-up and a new tat. The cover was so amazing!!! I got 2 also. Allie was clean and hygienic about everything. We were told about the credit card vs cash payment which was NOT a problem. Its not Walmart! LOL! Businesses pass those fees on to customers with their prices. The shop doesnt want to. At least they tell you. At least the ATM is in the shop. Definitely will come back when were in town again!
Not happy with my tattoo. The lines are uneven, sloppy and don’t even connect in some places. They have signs posted saying there is a 5% fee for credit card payments, but they insisted I pay with cash. They have an ATM in the lobby, but of course there’s a fee for that too. Weird and unprofessional. I do have to say that the place was cute in an eclectic way and seemed clean. The tattoo artist was hygienic as well.
So,My wife and I were down in New Orleans for my birthday and Id decided that for my birthday I would get myself a new tattoo and low and behold this establishment was opposite our hotel (would you believe).After reading a few Google reviews, I knew that THIS was the place!On walking in we met Chopper Pete, who was without doubt one of the most professional, straight up likeable dudes Ive ever met.. And he also did a killer tattoo on me AND reworked an old too!!The next day my wife was (who had a tattoo booked) was let down and Pete came to the rescue and did the most beautiful custom design of a lotus flower.Soooo big thanks to Chopper Pete and all the staff, you guys rock!

Absolutely loved my experience here. My tattooist (Amber Hall) was wonderful and extremely talented and friendly even close to closing time, AND was willing to come in on her day off if I needed her to. Even though it was my first tattoo she didnt rush me at all and worked with me until I got exactly what I wanted. Everybody there was friendly and made you feel right at home. If youre thinking about getting one here - DO IT; you wont regret it.And ask for Amber Hall - SHES GREAT!!!(Update: A few more months will be a year. Still very pleased. Thanks Amber! Plan on going back for another! )
Me and my girlfriend got matching hummingbird tattoos. Hers looks amazing, but missing some color. Mine is not what expected and missing color as well. Seemed a little rushed. Crash did our tattoos. They are still pretty nice, and a very good price. We got what we paid for. Still gave 4 stars because they were very accommodating and friendly.

On vacation looking to get a tattoo. Erica was amazing! She got 3 of us in same day and out in a few hours. The designs turned out amazing. The shop is clean and very organized. Only thing Ill say is they were so busy they could use a front desk staff member so that Erica can keep her focus on what she does best: creating amazing tattoos. Shes a true artist. If youre visiting NO definitely get a tattoo from here!!!!!
