My husband and I loved our experience here! The staff were very friendly and informative. The store is super cute, filled with plants and is inviting and open. The cold brew coffee with mocha is absolutely delicious!! Its sweet, fruity and delicate! We are absolutely stopping by for more before we head out of town.We were suggested their scones and lemon poppy seed muffin. The muffin had a zesty, tangy citrus glaze and moist, tender cake.Overall this was an amazing start to our day! :)

VERY DISGUSTED. Whichever man was working on 10/3/21 at 7:30 am was EXTREMELY RUDE. I live in the neighborhood and was appalled at the level of attitude and disrespect when I asked a question about their items. Tone and patience were not something the employees exhibit here apparently. They’re also not dog friendly, the employee went on to be rude to a girl asking what their dog policy was for her SERVICE DOG. For a shop having house made dog treats I was absolutely shocked. All the people in the shop were immediately turned away, some walked out. I don’t want to give my business to a shop whose employees verbally ABUSE customers wanting to ask questions. The owners need to do something about their service training.

Come here for my morning coffee most days. The staff is awesome and I love how reasonably priced the drinks are!Pastries are delicious, my only constructive criticism is that the last couple of times Ive been there Ive ordered cookies that ended up being raw in the center... Not great, but honestly something I can overlook. I think the other pastries are definitely a win.

If you are waiting in line at Starbucks, do yourself a favor and walk across the street to this place instead. This place has the BEST cheese danish. Light and fluffy with a hint of lemon and a vanilla cream cheese in the middle that will brighten even the gloomiest, rainy day. Coffee, lattes, cappuccino and some specialty drinks. Oh and if they have the breakfast biscuit sandwich (they sell out so fast!!!), ya just have to cause they are so damn good! Absolutely can not recommend this place enough, plus they are local.

I own my own business so I always try to support other small businesses as well and this place has really amazing baked goods but I have made my last visit there and will not return, I’ve never left a negative review before on a individually owned small business but on numerous occasions I’ve driven 10 miles from where I live to purchase items and they will be closed I’ve looked at the hours on the door but they have not always been accurate and the times they have been open they are out of everything I need ( mostly cookies ) I’ve questioned it and was told they bake only a few and run out most every day before they close. I’ve witnessed 4 times when I’ve been in that others have walked out the door when I have with nothing in hand after driving over there. Today I called and ask what time will you close today the gentleman who works there said 1:00 I told him I was on my way and would be there about 10 til, ask him what was left and available he was super nice told me what he had.... I get there at 10 til 1:00 he boxes me up $32.00 worth of cookies (of course out of the cream cheese cookies again) as usual and handed him the money he says we don’t take cash....what? It’s closing time I’m buying most all of what he has left in cookies and they couldn’t take my payment so I left for my last time after rushing over to get theses things. You the owner just lost a nice sale. Earlier on the phone I ask again as I had in the past if I could preorder he said yes so he took my name and number but I have no expectations of ever hearing from the owner because I’ve left two voicemails in the past to order and never heard back. I dont have to spend my money there but I choose to because of the quality product but it’s now just not worth the hassle & disappointment. In conclusion to this I want to add that I have 3 friends and 4 clients I’ve sent there who all have the same complaint. I wish you well with your business and I hope you find this helpful going forward.

I have opened cafes and managed restaurants for years and now I am a location scout. I make it a point to try different places regularly. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had, all around. Service was so terrible and so incredibly slow for simple breakfast food, it’s sad. The cold brew clearly wasn’t brewed long enough, food took 45 minutes and was awful, bland and made me feel sick. On top of everything, the place was so dirty that I don’t know if they have ever swept since they’ve opened.Besides being dirty... the build out simply lacks thought or care. The corner welds are just waiting to stab a child’s in the head. There are so many things that could have been done that would have made this place just that much better but again, what they call a “labor of love” is not the kind of “love” I’d ever want to be apart of.The only thing that makes sense for this place is their name. Slow Hand is literally what you will get here. Just don’t waste your time or money, I beg you.

I love going to Slow Hand for brunch or a pastry. The decor and overall vibe is very cozy! Especially if you sit at the counter, where you can watch the food cook on the fire. Our order has been messed up a couple times, but other than that, I only have positive things to say.

Walked in, no one to be seen to order. We stood confused as to what to do until a table cleared up. Of course, because no one could be found the table was dirty. 10-15 min passed and we were not able to order coffee or breakfast. The only person we ever saw was a guy cleaning.Updating to clear some doubts. When we walked in, there was no one at the register. While we waited we sat down, but no one ever came out. We even saw two other couples come in, wait, and leave. And no, we were not in the restaurant next door.

I wanted to love this place. I stopped by to grab biscuits to take home for breakfast. I read the reviews and it seemed that the biscuits would be well worth it. As a baker and lover of biscuits, I was excited to try them since theyre so close to my house. Unfortunately, the chicken biscuit I got for my husband lacked flavor (despite all the things on it) and the biscuit itself was doughy. The fried chickens breading was falling off pretty seriously and it was overfried to the point of tasting a little too done. I got the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit which tasted much better, but the biscuit still had the issue of being slightly undercooked and a tad doughy. I think that the issue may come from the biscuits size. They are so big to accommodate the sandwich stuff that I think the outside gets cooked much faster than the inside, so you get a crispy brown exterior and gummy inside. On the bright side, the blueberry muffin was pretty delicious and was baked well and the iced lattes were fine (though Dose holds my coffee trophy at this time). I am not sure if the biscuit mishaps were just a bad baking day or the usual and others just arent as critical because they arent bakers. I might be willing to try again, though for a $10 biscuit, Im not sure if its worth it.

Had a late breakfast this morning during their soft opening. The food was amazing. Huge, fluffy biscuits with offerings varying from house made sausage, local bacon, to steak cooked over their wood fired grill and all with cooked to order eggs. Mine were perfectly overeasy, just as I ordered. Counter Culture coffee and a great pastry selection for something quicker looked great. I cant wait for them to go to a regular menu after their soft opening to see what else they have in store for Slow Hand and the adjacent Pelican and Pig.

Very impressed. Ham biscuit was delicious and HUGE. The blueberry lime jam was great. I sampled my daughters breakfast plate. Her eggs were cooked and seasoned perfectly, and so were her fries. The dipping sauce they serve with the fries was outstanding. My only negative comment is that there was only one small breakfast menu and it was sitting in front of the cash register. Hopefully they will post the menu on the wall where everyone can see it or print several that people can look at while standing in line. Looking forward to returning and trying more options!

When I’m at my office in East Nashville I come here and bring people from my office. I absolutely love your vanilla lattes. However today the wait times have been ridiculous. I was in at 7am and ordered 2 of the chicken biscuits to go ( we were the only ones in the place ). It took over 35 minutes. I brought people back for lunch and we ordered 2 of the brunch entrees. It took 42 minutes. People seated before after us got food before usI spent over $65 dollars today. Nobody once came over and said anything about the wait or apologized. I was almost made to feel crazy for asking the wait time. Just wanted to let you know. Not a good experience at all. I come here as the product is superior to most coffee shops. Tried to go here for lunch. We stood in front of the cash register looking at the food menu for several minutes before our presence was acknowledged by anyone. When someone eventually came to the register and we tried to order food, the cashier looked at us like we were putting her out and told the kitchen was closed. The employee saw us look back over at the menus and just said “sorry, those shouldn’t be up” before removing them. We were completely flabbergasted. What kind of coffee shop stops making food at 2pm? Why do you have menus on display if the kitchen is closed? Why isn’t this information on a website somewhere? Oh wait, this place doesn’t even have a website.Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Came in at the end of the day on a Sunday. My baked goods were a bit dry but creative flavors and as a former bakery owner, clearly made with decent ingredients.I watched the girl closing transfer all the baked goods into one cake stand display struggle and then struggle to wrap it all up with plastic wrap. This means two things: food allergy sufferers beware, and, they resell day(s) old goods. This is locally owned and operated which is always a plus. The owners are a husband and wife. If Im in the neighborhood, I might give this a try again on a different day.

Based solely on service, we won’t be returning here. Our last three visits, over the course of a month, resulted in terrible service. Food waits of over 30 minutes for simple things, like bacon or eggs. Customer service is indifferent at best. On one of our visits we told someone that a large wooden corner was split and had scraped our knees as we slid into the booth. The response was “Yea, everything is kind of falling apart.” Today I visited with my toddler and we ordered the simple breakfast plate with a side of toast. After waiting 35+ minutes, there still wasn’t any food. That’s a long time to wait with a little one, and we weren’t the only ones not getting our food. I requested (and received) a refund - minus gratuity (a joke). There are better run places to visit for breakfast in East Nashville, and I’m sad to say I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit Slow Hand (note: review written in extreme hanger but based on multiple terrible experiences).

Coffee and food are good enough. Food is a little slow, but they tell you the wait in the menu so just be aware. That’s said I will NEVER go back here. As my wife and I were leaving, we noticed a car had parked in a no parking spot blocking our way out. I went inside and one of the workers came out with me to look at the car so they could try to find the owner. Turns out it was an employee’s car. When she came out to move it she did a lot of arm gesturing and said there was room to get out. I said I didn’t want to take the chance and hit her car or scrape my car against the wall. She said a few more things and I asked if she was going to move her car. She gave me a look and said she wasn’t going to move it and started walking back inside. So I headed back in to talk to management and she started cursing at me. When I told management this they got her to move the car, but they were laughing about it. She did finally move her car, but called me more names in the process. I was mostly upset with the management not taking it more seriously. Not the parking, but being called names by someone for no reason and then not even getting an apology is bad business.

LOLOL! Quick bite, fast service. Do not be misled. This place is aptly named: it is bafflingly, inexplicably, painfully SLOOOW.Be prepared to stand in line for 20+ minutes just to place your order for a pre-made pastry or coffee from a thermos. I cannot fathom how the simple operation of placing a couple cookies in a box and pouring some coffee into a cup can take as long as it takes here.If you want to order something from the menu, plan on waiting an additional 30 minutes until you can eat it.These are not exaggerations. They are observations made during the four visits Ive made since it opened.Made-to-order breakfast can be a great thing, but promoting such a place as quick/fast is absurd, and making customers wait in a long line just to order (when the majority of the seats are empty) is unacceptable. With those complaints lodged, the pastries are pastries, the coffee is weak and bland, and the single made-to-order hot breakfast option I had the patience to get once upon a time, was far too salty.I recommend stopping by Slow Hand only to confirm this review. You will have plenty of time to get to know the folks you are in line with. I will not be one of them.

The biscuit was dense and crispy on the outside with the soft, buttery, pillowy inside absorbing the melty, cheesy scrambled eggs, flavored to perfection...ever so slightly as to create a burst of flavor and a substantial, satiating chew from bite to swallow. 10 out of 10 will do again.

Tried this place out for lunch today with some co-workers. The breakfast tacos were drowning in undercooked fries which were topped with a green sauce that looked like a toddler had just eaten peas and then spewed them all over the plate. The fall bowl was decent but seemed underwhelming for the price paid and had hardly any sausage in it. Id say the best thing served was an aioli on the basic breakfast plate which also had undercooked fries. Experience at the register was bland and left much to be desired. Overall we will not be back. The bougie atmosphere can be experienced at too many other places on this side of town and they have far better food and customer service.

Their baked goods are delicious. Coffee is good. Kitchen? Service...!!! I got eggs, bacon, and french fries today. Pretty basic right? Ive had it all my life...but this was really salty. The bacon was stiff as a board too. My husband had bacon on his biscuit sandwich that was a normal cook. So I very discreetly asked one of the people behind the counter if I could get it remade. She insisted I had to see the cashier. Ok. Fine. I waited then quietly asked the cashier. She asked what was wrong I said its way too salty and the bacon is hard. Her response? You can go ask the kitchen. WT??? I was reluctant so she started walking over that way, indicating that I should follow her...mind you there are other customers coming in... iI decidedt wasnt worth it and just went back to our table. The woman came back and said that shed just tell the kitchen for me (what the first person, let alone her, should have just done in the first place) and asked me 2x how I wanted my order cooked. She was loud and insisted, when I simply said not salty and the bacon not hard, that was how they cooked their bacon. At that point there were 4 other customers standing around. I said nevermind Its fine. I had to tell her that 3x then. And at that point we just got up and left. We didnt even finish our coffee. I was really polite and respectful so I dont get the poor service, which, even if I wasnt, should be better. And for $10 bacon eggs it should be edible. Its a cute place and this was our second time there. But there are lots of good places in East, so after this, we wont be back.
