Not being from this area, I asked a few locals where I would go for good coffee. Without hesitation they all said Prevail! Ive been here three times this week and have not one been disappointed. The macchiato was absolutely divine and their syrups are house made. If youre not already familiar with this chain give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Prevail is a nice coffee shop that is definitely in the higher-end of expensive and gives the hipster vibes for all those slightly hoity-toity coffee lovers out there! (They make great tasting coffee, dont get me wrong)The biggest thing here was how long it took to get a drink, even after the long wait to order (with only one couple in front of us!). I hope the timing can be addressed, as the drink complexity doesnt really demand more than 1 or 1.5 minutes to make.Was also disappointed by not even being asked if I wanted my drink made hot or cold, which they assumed incorrectly I wanted a cold drink (I like a hot drink even if its hot outside!) There was mainly ice in the drink, which was disappointing as well, considering the $5+ pricetag, and another reason I prefer hot beverages since you get more of what you pay for!!

An absolute must when in Montgomery! It is downtown, the decor is fantastic, the service is SO welcoming, pastries are delicious (try the cinnamon roll, which is more like a cinnamon biscuit. You will love it!), coffee is fantastic especially with their homemade syrups and the tea is real loose leaf. Looking forward to a return trip!

Is there an option for a sixth star?Seriously, this place checked all of the boxes for my husband and me. Prevail Union Montgomery is an intentional, third-wave coffee shop that has genuine, direct relationships with their coffee farmers around the world who work diligently to provide unmatchable coffee. Additionally, they support local businesses in the Montgomery area by providing fresh pastries, cookies, and pop-ups — amazing!The team was so optimistic and full of knowledge about each product. Despite a wild rush, the baristas took the time to get to know my name, where I am from, and even recommended some of their favorites. I went with an Alabama Stinger (double or quad shot of espresso, local honey, local milk, shaken in a cocktail shaker) and (seasonal) Campfire Cappucino and was blown away!A note for those who have yet to try: each of these drinks is crafted with time, quality, and attention to detail. The baristas even brûléed the marshmallows on my campfire cappuccino! Amazing! This means, though, that it doesn’t take the same time as the simple pressing-of-a-button and wham-bam your coffee is made. You should approach this with an appreciation for the craft and allot the few extra seconds it takes for such art to be made.The latté art blew us away! Each barista offered a fun design with every pour. We took home a bag of the Rwanda and the Farmer’s Daughter and the smell continues to linger pleasantly in our home, as does the memory of our visit! The chocolate croissants, however, were gone in a flash.One last note — the parking for downtown Montgomery is metered, which means you should bring change or download the app to park (directions are on each meter). This is the case for most progressive cities, which is why I was surprised to see other reviews give a full star less. From my understanding, local businesses don’t have control over city-wide metered parking so it doesn’t really make sense to hold them accountable for this.Prevail Union does a spectacular job and we are grateful to have found such a friendly, warm establishment with unbeatable coffee and a positive mission. Clearly they are working hard to impact the community and we will absolutely return as often as we can!

Best coffee in Montgomery. I’ve spent most of my adult life traveling the south east and during that time I have tried many different coffee shops. I would dare to say it’s the best in the south east!

The Alabama Stinger with macadamia milk is my absolute favorite! My husband got the iced Chai tea latte with macadamia milk and he said it was delicious. The atmosphere is so friendly and the baristas were awesome and chatty.

A high end artisanal coffee experience in a large open-format space with minimalist touches. Service was quick and the drinks were on point. Bustling with folks meeting, greeting, working and recreating. If youre in the area its a top spot for a little espresso-based adventure.

If you like espresso or espresso drinks you need to stop by Prevail. They use the freshest coffee in their carefully crafted seasonal drinks and always provide great service. The shop itself is beautiful -- when the weathers nice they open up to create a nice breeze.

A coffee shop that could be in Brooklyn, San Francisco or Boston, but thankfully is in Montgomery. One could miss the main door but I recommend looking well and going in. The ambiance is amazing, the service is great and the overall feel wonderful. Really nice people work there and, most importantly, coffee and pastry are excellent!! Definitely a spot not to be missed.

Coffee shop clean and neat. Service was great and my coffee was delicious. This was my 2d trip to Montgomery. After my first visit I went back the next morning and the person remembered what she had made for me the day before. If you are a senior you can understand. Please go to this coffee shop if you go to Montgomery

Limited/Frozen bakery items, limited drink menu and slow service. Overall experience is underwhelming. Coffee was burnt tasting and the price was cheap so I got what I payed for. Homeless people swarming around the building makes it incredibly uninviting. Will not return.

Tasty & high quality coffee, friendly staff and good atmosphere

A few of us who all happen to be coffee snobs were making the trek down to the beach and started looking up potential coffee stops in Montgomery. The overwhelming consensus online was the Prevail Union shop in downtown Montgomery and it did not disappoint! It was a reasonably quick stop off of the highway and we got to catch some of the Civil Rights landmarks in passing because its such a neat location. Its definitely a hip and high-end coffee shop and one that I would frequent if I lived in the area. I enjoyed my Americano but my wife stole the show by ordering the Alabama Stinger, a really unique honey-espresso drink (I think).

Farmer’s Daughter is the best coffee I’ve ever had. Great spot to catch up on what’s happening downtown. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Made multiple visits here during a recent trip to Montgomery. Lovely space, friendly staff, and really good coffee (including pour overs). Breakfast burrito left something to be desired, but the baked goods were delicious. Everything is nice. I highly recommended this place.

Just another lovely surprise during my afternoon in Montgomery. I wish I had such a coffee shop near me!Great coffee (they gave me a fourth shot for free in my large americano) and I had a delicious pastry (a croissant with lemon curd and chocolate) and very nice service.The space was beautiful. Lots of light. Inspiring. Lots of customers working away on their laptops. When it’s nice out I think I’d love it even more because some of the huge windows open up and it becomes a big patio.

Lovely new age coffee shop in walking distance of all things downtown. Only place for snobs in Montgomery. Check out the other spots in the Kress building too. Awesome small bookstore and art gallery.

These guys take their coffee seriously and it shows. Our espresso and latte were strong, smooth and beautifully presented. We sat back and watched the rain fall on the adjacent park while we enjoyed our coffee. Talk a walk through this beautifully restored building while you are there.

We tried two of the seasonal beverages and they were both amazing! There is plenty of outdoor seating so we felt safe hanging out rather than taking our drinks to go.

Every now and then in my travels I find little gems in unexpected places...and this is definitely one of them. The staff greets you right away with a almost hipster variant of southern charm. They are very knowledgeable in their craft and willing to work with you to get the exact cup of coffee you want based on your preferred tastes. Every aspect of this craft coffee bar seems to show huge amounts of attention to detail while still maintaining the chill classic coffee bar feel where you could sit for hours with a good book and an even better cup of coffee. Attached is a real barber shop that replicates and expounds upon the hipster feel with its leather apron wearing barbers. Additionally there is a large section of local art and stationary offered...in case you forgot your notebook to write your latest novel in. Overall I never expected to find a place I liked so much in Montgomery Alabama and I consider this a must see for anyone who enjoys a good, and I mean good, cup of coffee.

I ordered an americano with a pump of hazelnut and splash of almond milk and let me tell you, this is the best Americano Ive had in a while! I cant exactly tell you what makes their coffee so dang good but it just is! The richness, the flavor. Extra hot, perfect for the cold and rainy weather.

I love the decor in this coffee shop, as well as the coffee. A friend and I went there one evening recently to listen to live music and it was great fun - such a wonderful idea to promote local music in the evenings. She enjoyed an alcoholic beverages, so you have a lot of beverage choices.The only gripe I have is that we must microwave the food ourselves. Ugh.

A pleasant surprise. If you happen to be in the Montgomery area, this is the place to go. Their Chemex is automatic, so you can expect a decent baseline quality, and their beabs--the significant factor after all, have pronounced notes. No bland, bitter coffee here.

I dont visit Alabama very often, but when I stopped by to visit a cousin in Montgomery, she suggested that we stop by here for some coffee. I ordered the cappuccino, which is usually what I order to judge a coffee shop, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it was made. I also give kudos to the staff, who were friendly and quick.

Came in for a couple of coffees. This is a cute little coffee shop just down the road from the Capitol Building, this place is hip, attractive, cozy, and comfortable.Offerings consist mostly of coffees and teas, but there are a couple of pastries available if that suits your fancy. Looks like they sell wine and beer here in the evening -- Id guess live music happens from time to time, too! The interior is really beautifully decorated, with a very instagrammable wall to boot.Im not really a coffee drinker, but my parents are, and they said their plain coffees were delicious. They had something they called a Chaider on special: masala chai with apple cider and cinnamon. I ordered that, and it was yummy. Just a touch to heavy on the cinnamon for me, but still really tasty and served at the perfect temperature.If youre in need of a coffee fix or a place to chill in downtown Montgomery, this seems like a great option.

It’s a very good place I often visit here and they have a great ambience! You should keep some seating outside on the side with tents. The reason for giving 4 because, I think you should wear gloves during this pandemic! Also I recommend to keep a fiber glass between the customer and payment/ staff crew!

Get your coffee from Cafe Louisa or Vintage Cafe. Those places actually focus on serving you coffee instead lecturing on inane, make-believe public health policies. My money will walk to the places that actually serve the purpose theyre there for.

Prevail Union is the perfect coffee shop for downtown Montgomery. Its hipster, yet still inviting for your average joe (pun intended) to stop by for coffee. They source their own beans, meaning they can make some unique brews. I recommend the Alabama Stinger or the Nitro Cold Brew.

Lovely coffee spot to relax and sip on an excellent pour over. Also have baked goods, excellent chocolate, and kombucha on tap. Highly recommend!

Neat area great coffee. Got the pour over, I think it was ethiopian. Spectacular. A surprising touch was that it was the perfect drinking temperature as soon as it was handed to me.

I can’t say enough great things about Prevail. This is the perfect central meeting hub in Montgomery. The quality of the coffee is top-tier and their iced lattes are fantastic. Come straight to Prevail for your morning coffee before seeing the sites downtown. I had it for two years and the staff there became like family.

Hands down the best coffee shop in the state, if not the entire southeast. I go with the traditional italian drinks, the HVR and the Alabama Stinger are amazing. Also, the mint matcha latte is a delicious coffee alternative. They sell draft or canned beer, and have a stellar wine selection also. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the service is always amazing!

Got the honey, raspberry iced latte and it more of 6 star drink. My only regret is not having purchased two. I’m not sure what the espresso roast was but it was light and delicious. Hope to come back again some day.

Delicious coffee! This place is spacious and has a cool industrial vibe. The staff was friendly and fast. I’d read some reviews noting high prices but my cappuccino was $3.75. Granted I’m from a big city, but I found the pricing to be totally reasonable. I subtracted one star for lack of food/bakery items.

Before we even moved to the area, Prevail was recommended by a few people when they heard we were headed here. Their service is great, and the quality of everything they brew is amazing.Now amidst the pandemic, they will often have their doors propped open and you can order online for a completely contactless experience. The places we visit have dropped dramatically due to coronavirus but the safety conscious measures are greatly appreciated. If we thought we were putting people’s health at risk over a cup of coffee, we wouldn’t be in at all. Thank you, Prevail!(pro tip) when using Safari Browser when you order online, it lets you use Apple Pay to get the full cash back.
