This place used to be our FAVORITE every Friday spot to go to or whenever we were craving ice cream or whenever we wanted to treat our dog. We would ALWAYS bring our golden retriever because they welcomed him with open arms. But not today. Today someone new who weve never seen before rejected us and told us we had to leave. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! How do you allow dogs and now all of a sudden dont??? Also mind you there wasnt a single person inside the place. We are paying customers and have been loyal to your place for awhile now. But not after today. And I will make sure all of our friends and family do not ever go here. Horrible customer service. HORRIBLE. I feel so disrespected. Dogs are allowed everywhere, get with the times.

Kevin makes SICK ice cream, and Matteo was a very attentive and kind server. He knew a lot about the business and very knowledgeable about the flavors. Definitely will be back and they were OPEN on the Fourth of July!!

My son and I went for a dole whip today and it was just the refreshing treat we were looking for on this hot-hot day! The counter servers greeted us with a smile and service was friendly and quick (just like we like it!). Looking to try the pineapple dole whip next time, which may be soon with all these early summer-like weather days we are having!

Ordered delivery tonight through the website and i received an email saying my order will be delivered between 8:50-9:00 pm. i placed the order a 8pm, around 8:55 i checked out side because i haven’t received a phone call or email about my order being delivered. when i had checked outside i saw the bag of ice cream sitting on my porch. when i had opened it all the ice. cream had melted. so i went back to the email and saw you can track the order status and found out it was delivered at 8:33 pm and it was sitting almost a 1/2 hour in the heat. i proceeded to call the store to explain what had happened and that i wasn’t notified of the order being delivered. i was put on hold while the employee had spoke to their manager. i was told since they delivered through door dash they weren’t able to send a new order back out only option was to go into the store which i had ordered delivery because i am not able to drive there. but if i wanted too i can reorder the order again which isn’t an option. i assumed they had their own delivery service since i ordered straight through the website and not doordash.it’s frustrating when your kids were looking forward to ice cream just for it to be melted and there was no way to fix it. i wasn’t going to re order just to spend more money after what i had wasted on melted ice cream. in the past i’ve ordered delivery as well and always had issues with the wrong item being sent or i am missing items which has happened a few times.

The service and ice cream were wonderful. Its a nice place to go with friends and family for a great time. The bathroom was cleaner than most.

Ive always loved the gelato here. I recently needed a custom cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. Mike and his team took such good care of us! Ive never experienced so much care about the details and execution of an order. I will definitely be going back for our next event!

First visit tonight, love everything about this place. Ordered the seemingly ubiquitous scoop of mint Oreo ice cream and it was better than anywhere else.

The best around! Mike and Bree are so helpful. They made me an awesome custom bday cake during lockdown with specific ingredients (Oreo coffee ice cream) to make my bday extra special. They are ALWAYS helping with any charitable outreach such as donating 100 cups of ice cream to the nursing staff at University Hospital in Newark on Mothers Day. Yeah, they are the best around. Run to their business now.

I am just happy I get to enjoy this Gelato and ice cream store. Its a local gem...freaking awesome and amazing!!!

Extremely spacious location and they offer several vegan options. Both chocolate and vanilla soft serve and various flavored icys. Had a soft serve blend of chocolate and vanilla, was stuffed, couldnt eat all of it.

Even on a busy Saturday/holiday the service was excellent. This was my first time inside (usually my family/friends will pick up my request)....the variety of flavors is great! The servers are very friendly and you can ask for flavor samples. I looked over at the freezer cases and saw the cakes and packed ice cream ....my next social event I think thats what Im bringing!

Everything I have tried at Gelotti of Montclair has been mind blowingly good! It is so hard to find good vegan flavors and they have it down to a science! Yum, yum, yum!!!!!!!! I even commented one time on a flavor and the owner asked me for my ideas on new possibilities of vegan awesomeness!!!! LOVE this place!!!!!!!!

Gelotti of Montclair is best! They have such a wide array of flavors such as Cookie Monster, Chocolate Fudge Crunch, Vegan Chocolate, Almond Joy, and Avocado (yum 😋). They also make amazing milkshakes and reetas. Their novelties sold in the refrigerators across the counter are worth checking out too! And you cant forget about the cakes they make. You can go in and get a cake already made or get one specially ordered with your choice of flavors, how great is that? The staff is so kind and friendly. Keep your eye out for the short brunette guy with earrings (hes a real cutie). Definitely worth the trip!

Gelato and ice creams seemed over churned/icy and cones tasted stale. For nearly $16 (2 kids and an adult) I really hoped it would have been better. Cant give only 1 Star because the attendant was nice.

The service is helpful and friendly and the flavors are superb. Im especially fond of the sorbet--the blueberry-basil is subtle and the Santa Barbara (blood orange, raspberry, and lemon) like fireworks on the 4th of July!

First time at place, seemed understaffed for a Saturday, ( long line w one girl working the counter, guy showef up later ) the products displayed well & looked delicious. My complaint is product consistency between shops. I wanted to have an egg cream that is advertised, especially displayed on their cups. They said they cant them. It doesnt take much to have a six pack of seltzer,chocolate syrup & milk or vanilla ice cream to make one..

I can’t express the gratitude i have for this particular Gelotti. I was in the hospital for a week and all i craved was watermelon ice. I had called and asked if they had it n they said yes. i went there about15 minutes later n the owner John i believe his name is explained they actually did not have it. He immediately said they would make it n deliver it to my home in verona. I was so happy.. Anyway the next day i called n asked if they had anymore... it was kind of late but the manager said we will deliver it to u.. i couldn’t believe the care n sincerity this place showed me. anyway.. i went back today for 2 more quarts and i wish i knew the girls name. she is a african american with pretty short hair. She was so nice to me. She asked if i was feeling better and she came around the counter n gave me a hug. I amstill sick but this place showed such compassion. It wasn’t fake... The owner didn’t even charge me that first day when they made it for me. I will b forever grateful to the staff n owner at Gelottis in Montclair.. Thank u guys. u have no idea how much something as simple as watermelon ice along with ur unbelievable kindness can make someone’s day a bit better. n i will get better n when i do i will b there everyday.

Ive been here once before but last night will be the last time I visit this location. I cant speak for the other employees but Tal (the employee that served us) was incredibly HORRIBLE. Like I said before, I was here once before and the girl that served us before was amazing. For this recent visit I was asked, Do you know what you want yet? Had the money snatched out of my hand, and because there were no napkins, when I re-entered the store, I was questioned on why I came back. This has to be one of the WORST experiences in customer service Ive EVER had.

My girlfriend goes here at least once a week and its my go to whenever she needs a pick me up. We are probably putting the employees there through college.

Best gelato, ice cream, everything all around. The deserts are perfectly sculpted, the ice cream is like pure butter sliding down your palate, and the gelato especially the Nutella gelato is like silk. All the flavor of Nutella but with a cold creamy silky consistency. Definitely the best in Jersey by far. I mean what are you doing if you’re not going to Gelottis? Put some flavor in your life and visit one of their stores :)
