Top notch. This place makes excellent coffee beans. I have only purchased whole beans from them, I have not sampled their menu but Im inspired by some of the coffee cocktail non-alcoholic drinks they offer. Cold Fashioned, anyone? Lots of nice coffee accoutrements as well and some kitsch but not tacky items for saleBuy a two-pound bag of beans for a discount and the price becomes quite manageable for a micro roaster of this caliber.Personal recommendation so far is the Aponte for a very bright and unique cup

They’re located right down the street from the hustle and bustle of Bloomfield Avenue and Church Street shopping so it’s a great start or finish to your day! They’re also expanding soon and can’t wait to see what they do with the new space!

Amazing and unique selection of coffee. I had the Ube which could be a seasonal flavor. It was like drinking a cocktail version of coffee, mixed with flavors of ube, blood orange, cinnamon, coconut cream and espresso.

I absolutely love Paper Plane. Probably my favorite coffee place. I was hesitant to try the special drinks but now that I have I’m never going back. Everybody that works there is so incredibly nice and the coffee is always amazing! Not to mention the creative season drink. There’s nothing that isn’t absolutely amazing about Paper Plane.

My wife and I just moved to the area and we had been looking for good coffee for a few weeks. Today we found Paper Plane Coffee Co. by chance while shopping around the neighborhood. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the coffee is truly the best Ive had in a long time. They have a phenomenal selection of unique drinks and are happy to adjust for dairy free customers. If youre in the area and you love good coffee do yourself a favor and try Paper Plane.

Staff is amazing and the list of drink options ranges from tried-and-true favorites to a bevy of inventive-yet-delicious drinks. Plus, they recently introduced a BYO mug/refill container to pass some savings to customers, while doing their part to reduce single-use containers. All in, love this place.

Great coffee spot! Absolutely adore this place. Recently stopped by a few weeks ago after wanting to try them for the longest, and I’m just upset it took me so long lol. The coffee is top notch and the menu is so unique. It’s been my weekly gem ever since.

Regular coffee is top notch. Tried the butterbroo over ice/chilled. And a warm coffee that I cannot remember the name of...Jasmine, espresso, etc. Very tasty. I would trust any recommendations given to me by the staff.

Fast friendly service. Im not a coffee drinker but the matcha latte was decent. Would recommend a ceremonial grade. Love the little outside sitting area.

This has become my wife and Is favorite coffee spot in 2021. They have a fantastic setup for getting a delicious cup of coffee. Easy, simple, safe, clean, and quick! Really nice staff.

The coffee is delicious, especially the Dogma! I really love how creative they get like a double shot in Yoo-Hoo which was just pure amazing.

This is a new(er) coffee spot to the neighborhood- the vibe is beautiful and the people friendly! The designer in me LOVED the living wall + mural wall and airplane brand experiences! The 90’s kid in me- the Super Ninento corner... but I was working so didn’t get a chance to play and geek out. The latte I ordered was perfect! Complete with latte art of a heart ♥️

If youre looking for the bear local coffee experience in town, youve found it. Not only are the coffees amazing, with incredible depth of flavor where you can taste the passion for the art of roasting, but their science drinks and coffee sodas are incredible and unique.Looking for fun and deliciousness? I cant recommend the Vincent Vega or Voodoo enough. You should go.

This coffee here is great and the staff is super nice. Every 6 months I have to get a MRI a few blocks up from P.P.C.C., and its become my tradition to treat myself to coffee here afterwards. The big DONT PANIC sign on the wall always makes me smile.

Yeah this place is legit. I come here for the pour over and single origin coffee... typically dont need anything other than a pour over, but may go outside the box and try a craft espresso from their science bar selection.

Great coffee and staff. One of the better quality coffeeshops around the area. Would definitely recommend even if it is a trek to get there. : ).They roast their beans in house so you get them at peak freshness. It makes all the difference. Having a place that cares about every aspect of the process, from roasting to the espresso machine, just adds to the quality of the experience from the first sip to the last. I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep the quality that high and I really appreciate it.

This place has a nice vibe and good drinks, and the inside is very nice! Even though you can’t sit inside because of covid it’s still nice to have a warm drink and sit in the breeze. My favorite drink to have there is Mint Eastwood. I would also recommend the drink!

I really enjoyed the coffee and other drinks we ordered and the staff was friendly and efficient, but its tough for me to give a higher rating than 2 stars to any place that doesnt enforce masks, especially considering the signage saying masks are required. After we ordered, a woman walked in with no mask and was allowed to order. I know the staff probably didnt want to make a big deal about it, but its things like this that put every other patron (and staff member) in danger. Had she walked in before we ordered and paid, we would have left and probably never returned. Based on the quality, I may revisit after the vaccine is more widespread, but until then I probably wont be back.

In less that two years, Paper Planes has become in my eyes an iconic business of downtown. I cant imagine that corner of Fullerton and Claremont without it! Great coffee, great service, and a great vibe all around, especially now during COVID. Love the original, unique variety of coffees besides the ambience (pre-pandemic), courtesy, and the precaution measures being taken in current pandemic. I have never had a fav coffee place till I discovered the “Nam dam” at Paper Plane Coffee Co.! Then I tried other coffees and just thoroughly enjoyed them all! It’s a small business that makes you feel part of the family and am waiting for things to go back to normal so I can sit indoors at Paper Plane, sipping a soul satisfying coffee while enjoying the uplifting vibe of the place:)

I love Paper Plane! One of the best lattes in Montclair. The coffee is awesome and I’ve never had any trouble with their online ordering process. Their staff takes covid seriously and they have always been wearing masks every time that I’ve stopped by.

This place ruined coffee for me. I drink coffee from other places and only make comparisons to how good it is to paper plane coffee co. So if you never want to enjoy a regular cup of coffee again, and really get a sense of flavor coffee can bring to your taste buds, go to PPCC. I hope you guys live forever.

Best coffee roaster in Northern NJ as far as I know, only place around here with consistent single origin light-medium roast coffee. The Science section of the menu is very cool as well, all drinks have clearly been tested and developed thoroughly and are very well thought out. Always a pleasure coming here!

Ive been drinking coffee in Montclair for a while now and Im surprised I havent noticed such a cool shop. They have fun merch and the coffee is great. I was skeptical of the voodoo coffee but it just works. Give it a shot!

These are probably the most polite and well mannered people I have ever encountered in any place I ever been to. As per the coffee, I love the creative flavors. This had definitely become my favorite spot. Oh and you have to try the ham and swiss on croissant!

Paper plane is one of the best coffee shops in town. They have a very friendly and attentive staff. I have been coming to Paper Plane since they opened and could not be more pleased with how they have navigated the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been nothing but responsible and attentive in my experience, which is often (I stop in about once a week). You may order ahead for prompt pick up outside, or go inside with strict Covid-19 protocols and barriers separating the customers from the staff. Not to mention the coffee and beverages are AMAZING! If you’re going to montclair I cannot recommend Paper Plane enough. They are my favorite spot in town.

Cute cafe hidden off of Claremont Ave. Discovered this spot while walking my dog and was pleasantly surprised. The barista was super friendly and their cold brew blend hit the spot. I’ve also tried their espresso, which was bold & fragrant. 5 stars for being welcoming & puppy friendly.

My boyfriend and I have been going to Paper Plane 7 days a week since March 2020. The staff has always been incredibly friendly and consistent in quality. You can tell the owner cares about the well being of his employees and patrons based on how they’ve adapted during COVID. Since the temperatures have dropped, they have built a wall in the cafe between where you can order and where the baristas are making drinks. There is a mask requirement, hand sanitizer available and markings on the floor for social distancing and direction.The 2 star review a few days ago was rather irritating and unfair. You cannot blame a small business for the actions of a Karen refusing to wear a mask. The employees and owner clearly care about the safety of their clients and I applaud their ethics.Paper Plane is a valuable member of the Montclair community and we are lucky to have them! Also shout out to their bomb chai lattes, iced americanos and plain black coffee.

Great selection of coffee and coffee drinks. We are long time patrons and absolutely love the fresh in-house roasted beans for at home and a pour over or coffee soda for a special treat. Locally owned--Jonathan is so great and all the staff are so kind and lovely. We cherished our Paper Plane trips pre-pandemic and when they reopened we were so thrilled. They had great COVID protocol in the beginning of the pandemic and recently refit the entire shop for optimal COVID safety. You can order online and pick up for the safest option, or order inside through a plexiglass/intercom set up. Either way youre guaranteed to get something absolutely delicious and unique not to mention an overall pleasant and welcoming reception from the team! 😁

Only been there once upon recommendation. This is a big step above Starbucks IMHO. Unique coffee drinks in an airy, comfortable setting. Had an espresso with honey and lemon. If hot espresso can be refreshing then it has to taste like this!Will definitely go again to explore the menu further.

Was in & out for a quick espresso. The espresso was excellent - not at all bitter but light, floral, with a soft fruit aftertaste before settling into the warmer coffee tone. Seating was limited but Ill definitely return for an evening sitting with friends or for journal writing.Highly recommend.

Im not much of a coffee drinker but this place seriously has me reconsidering. Their fancy drinks are delicious and clever, the cold brew is a summer festival in my mouth and the staff are all awesomely hipster helpful. A delightful addition to the Montclair coffee scene.

I NEVER write reviews but considering i just had the best coffee ive had in a minute, possibly in my life, i had to. I went just wanting a simple latte, but after talking to the owner I was convinced to try one of his specialty drinks (I forget the name but its the first on the list w spiced syrup). He talked abt how he made his drinks based on specific other drinks bc of his bartender experience and was super nice with suggesting what to get. A lot of coffee shops can be super pretentious with their coffees and this guy was so amazingly nice and laid back it made everything that much better. He also said if I didnt like it he would have no problem making me something else which was really nice. Anyway, the drink is absolutely amazing, not too sweet, and quite possibly the best coffee Ive had.

It is so clear that this location cares about their product and their customers! We came here for take-out coffee last week, and the drinks were served perfectly ice-cold (despite the intense heat outside), quickly, while following social-distancing protocols. Their drinks are delicious and creative, plus the staff was very friendly and organized. Bravo!

Not only do they have a unique, and refreshing offering of coffee, they also have, hands down, the best staff of any cafe/coffee shop I have ever visited. Highly recommend.

Super high quality with great consistency (have been about a dozen times). As for the aesthetic, I applaud the attention to detail to the travel/plane theme. Each visit comes with a new noticing - most recently realized the apostrophe in the Dont Panic wall is a plane.

The staff is super friendly and the science menu is great! Right now theyre doing contactless ordering and service was perfect. Cant wait to return!

Welcoming staff, great vibe. Great for working with laptop or meeting friends. Unique coffee drinks unlike I’ve ever had.. guava with espresso?! Simple coffee, cappuccinos, espresso, flat white’s taste is unreal you will never need flavored coffee again (or want Starbucks after this) highly recommend.
