What to say about this place? There it goes my diet. Never been there but my hubby brought me this delicious pumpkin muffin and a apple/pineapple I think danish to die for. Sooooooo delicious and fluffy and flavorful. Sorry for the pic with bites on every little pc but my son decided to taste them all since they looked very very good. Definitely will go by and order some more pastries..yummy!!

Deliciously moist baked goods. I had the tres leche and glazed donuts, as well as the blueberry and morning glory muffins; all yummy. The customer service was superb! There is limited parking available in the lot aside the bakery. Outdoor seating is also available.I will surely be back to try the infamous breakfast sandwiches.**the vegan sandwich is a waste of money. Just veggies (beets, carrot, hummus) on thick ciabatta bread; no protein for $7+

Such a great little spot for fresh baked goods! We couldnt find sourdough bread anywhere and just did a Google search. It was reading the best sourdough bread Ive ever had. The donuts and coffee are also not too be missed!

Found this place on tiktok because a girl was selling plants there.I had the vegan sandwich. It was outer this world. The hot Apple cider was incredible. They have all different kinds of teas,and gluten free Donuts. All the staff are super friendly. They have a nice little patio you could sit and eat your sandwich and drink your tea or coffee. The parking was no problem they have a lot or on street parking too. The price was great too. Sometimes you have to get there early because they sell out a lot of stuff. there vegan sandwich or gluten free sandwich. Are awesome. I gave them a 5 star because the food was incredible and Fresh. the staff are super super friendly. The place is super clean And the prices was not bad at all. the atmosphere sitting on the patio Its so relaxing. So I would recommend this place to anybody.

Very disappointed! I ordered some donuts because Ive been feening for some apple cider donuts. At $3 a donut, I would have been better off just going to DD. They DO NOT taste like donuts. Too doughy and tough. Tasted more like a hard cinnamon roll. Their apple cider was good though. Wouldnt go there again...not for donuts anyway.

I moved to the area 2 years ago and this has been the one place I can always rely on for delicious treats and great breakfasts. The baking classes for kids are also wonderful and my girls both learned so much while getting to bring home goodies for us.

I had an apple crumb donut which was fantastic. Really awesome, I cannot say enough good things about it. Also a plain croissant which was also excellent, crispy on the outside and richly buttery. And a really good cup of coffee. This place is popular. I got there early and a line formed after I arrived. The line moved pretty quick though and they also take pre orders. Outside seating.

The people taking your order are very nice and patient.. I came for the tres leches donut which was $4.50.. I recommend trying it at least once but if you had the cake, your not really missing out.. the glaze was good as well...

Went on Saturday morning and waited in line for thirty minutes. Ordered a coffee and a sliced loaf of bread. Then proceeded to wait another thirty minutes for the order to be fulfilled. Everyone in the waiting area was becoming increasingly agitated at the slow service.The coffee was finally served in a cup which leaked. The bread was nice, but not worth the $9 we paid for it.All in all a very bad experience - overpriced and bad customer service. Dont know what all the hype is about with this place.

Great place to get your doughnut and bread fix. Cant wait to make it back to try some of their wood-oven baked breakfast pizzas.

Yoooo the bespoke thing might be my new favorite. Flaky crust. Creamy almond paste. Bright fruit filling. Definitely a must try and will now be a regular rotation. Wish I discovered it earlier.

The five I’m giving them is for the ambience. Doughnuts are good- one should be split between at least three people. They are fresh. The staff was very polite. The only issue- they don’t serve hot lattes. I don’t get that part. You have doughnuts and drip coffee- but no espresso or lattes? Moreover their selection of anything else is limited to bread and a breakfast sandwich. This is a place to grab a quick coffee and a doughnut and maybe relax for a few minutes.

I had hopeful expectations in trying their goods for the first time due to the high ratings and some recommendations. Unfortunately, it wasnt a good experience. The peanut butter and chocolate cookies tasted a but like dried dirt and the nutella and boston creme donuts at $4 a piece, barely had any filling in it and the iced coffee wasnt great and had one iced cube in it. So sad because I really wanted to like it!!

Located in a cool-looking building with outside facing garage doors that you order from, the vibe is positive and encouraging. Was definitely excited when we got there. However, the food quality and (what others have noted here as very high) pricing did not meet expectations. Breakfast sandwiches were $10.50 each, large fresh bread or roll but skimpy egg and one slice of meat. They also charge for cheese which is atypical. Donuts looked very presentable and were good (not great) but prices are the highest I have ever seen ranging from $4-4.75 for one donut. Other bakery items were good, not great. Would recommend for atmosphere or to try once but the pricing is higher than top bakeries in NYC where the quality is far better.

The staff here were all very kind and patient with me and I took forever to order. Luckily it was kind of empty when I went but it soon filled it up very quickly. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun and it came out amazing. The egg was fluffy and well seasoned. I used mozzarella cheese and that complemented everything beautifully. The space inside was a little small which could get crammed with people fast during the colder days but I imagine this place is amazing all the other seasons where you can sit outside. The donuts were all very rich and fluffy too.

I don’t even like donuts that much, but their donuts were DELICIOUS (dare I say better than any Krispy Kreme donuts I’ve had). I got a dozen (mix and matched different flavors) and they were so good. Also the employees were very friendly, even though I was bit slow with my order 😅

I will start off by saying we made the 96 mile trip from Philadelphia for a taste of these little gems. It was well worth the trip.

Friendly service and a smart, outdoor pandemic setup. The breakfast pizza was really good, but the star of the show was the maple bacon doughnut. Texturally, the doughnut is about as perfect as it gets. The maple and bacon add a perfect balance of sweet and salty to compliment that.

The doughnuts was amazing, we got the Just chocolate and Fruity pebbles.

The place was clean, efficient and well run! The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the price paid for the quality of donuts was not worth it in my mind. It was a good donut, but not for the price I paid.

I’ve been going to montclair donuts for over 3 years and I went recently and it was awful! You can tell they do not care about freshness anymore and the workers were rude! I use to get there breakfast sandwich and it was so good on the ciabatta- the worker told me they only do brioche because there premade! Not to be dramatic but when they served it to me there it was cold and literally old tasting! You can tell it was premaid, it use to be the best breakfast sandwich and mcdonalds is now better. The coffee was watery tasting and there watermelon salad was so bad- it was embarrassing how much they charge and give you a salad with one piece of watermelon and no dressing?! Insane. Also there donuts tasted like bread with some frosting ontop. Overpriced and not the same.Will never go back, lost a long term customer.

I tried the fruity pebble and mango donuts for the first time. Both were fluffy and light. The mango filling was tasty without being overpowering. I also tried the OG PBA sandwich, which I enjoyed very much. Together the cost was ~$19. I do not think this is pricey since its all artisan, handmade products, and they need to pay rent and employees. There are options out there for cheaper and less quality. As for me, I will definitely be back to try other treats and sandwiches.

I have been a loyal customer at Montclair Bread Company since I moved to New Jersey a year ago. The baked goods are so delicious! I have tried almost all of the donut types and love their sourdough bread. They have a great neighborhood vibe and support the neighborhood with runs donating proceeds to local charities.This was all pre-Covid. Since Covid, I love them even more. They were able to pivot quickly to provide food options while adhering to CDC guidelines to keep everyone safe. When fruits, vegetables and baking supplies were scarce in March/April, they partnered with local vendors and offered produce boxes and pantry items in addition to their bakery items. This was a huge godsend for me because I knew each week, I could have necessary foods items to feed my family.Even today they continue to pivot with a new app ordering system that is super easy an convenient. They also added pizza nights on Fridays.Kudos to Montclair Bread Company for delicious food, neighborhood smiles and safety! 🍩🍩🍩

So much hype with super high expectations with this place. I have heard so much about Montclair Bread Company for so long and already had ot in my head that it was going to be amazing. Now I can only speak on the Donuts, this has nothing to do with the bread. Having tasted hundreds of Donuts at Bakerys around the state, I have been exposed to the best. The $3 Boston Cream donut here was good, not amazing. Was expecting so much more cream and the donut itself tasted more like a cream puff. The cinnabon was amazing. People were super nice and service was excellent. 4.5 stars. I will be back.

Outstanding staff, delicious bread, amazing croissant egg and cheese sandwiches. We stopped in today to have one of their croissant egg and brie cheese sandwiches. After we received our order we sat outside and in the sunshine on the partially covered patio. You really need to stop in and enjoy a coffee and a donut or sandwich. And yes they bake a nice variety of breads. The ciabatta is my favorite.

Not impressed especially when you pay for a service to add ketchup, salt, or pepper to your sandwich and they treat you as if you were at a Dunkin Donuts and throw it in the bag. The service is horrible as you have you wait really long for a regular breakfast sandwich & don’t understand how since they used these processed eggs they call something else. Never again especially if you want a quick sandwich to go

I just picked up my order of Ube donuts. This is not an ube donut. It’s nothing like the photo you post . This is misleading and false advertising. First of all it isn’t a purple color like Ube which is in the photo .Then next it doesn’t even taste like ube. And finally it’s not supposed to have chocolate on it. I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied. I paid $21 for chocolate donuts instead of ube Donuts. Did you guys run out of it then gave us this instead?

The truth is the food is great. However, the service and people are rude, nasty and zero respect for customers. Online orders mean nothing to them. You place an online order and still wait in line and they still make you wait to. Example ordered for pickup at 8am wasnt ready until 8:22.

The place was recommended as having the best donuts. I came yesterday with that idea, how disappointed i am. I bought several flavors and none of them was good. It tasted like regular bread with some flavor on the top, nor me or my kids that love donuts like it.

Ordered pizza this past Friday and I was really disappointed. The crust had a burnt taste to it, which was very off-putting. On top of that, it took a little while to find my order even though it was placed in advance. The toppings were the best part of the pizza because the crust was doughy. Paid extra for the donuts, and they werent the greatest. Honestly, it seemed like the donuts were a little stale and not fresh. Very disappointed in the quality for the amount you pay!

Great donut! Not too heavy, not too sweet

My first experience was going for a light lunch here. When I entered the shop it was tightly packed with people. I stared in confusion of what to do or where to go. I approached staff informing them that this was my first visit. She said look at the black board menu and dessert display and pick a table where a server will ask you what you would like. It was a bit much and overwhelming but I decided upon a cappuccino, cup of lentil soup, one rosemary corn muffin, and a raspberry tart. I was served fast and the food was great.

The doughnuts are amazing, and the cold brew has cold brew ice cubes so it doesnt dilute when it melts. Genius! Got a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and it was as good as my moms, which is basically impossible. Highly recommend!

I like their concept and there are plenty of baked goods to choose from. It’s winter time and I wished they had indoor seating. I had to enjoy the donuts inside my car. The coffee was a little cold and the donuts were ok. I was expecting the tres leches donut to be better. It tasted like a glazed donut with cream on top. I did really enjoy the maple bacon donut.

Wasnt a normal first time thanks to covid but I placed an order online at 6am for the weekend special donut along with 2 other types and the staff were super friendly, came out to ask if there were any online orders and they went and got my order. Very good service and fast!

My boyfriend and I ordered an assortment of 12 basked goods and were in absolute heaven. Our personal favorites were the Tres Leches and Fruity Pebbles doughnut! We highly recommend and will be back! I promise you will NOT be disappointed!

Way over hyped. Paid $15 for three donughts, the dough consistency and and flavor tasted like regular white bread and the toppings were sub par. I only finished one of the three. Any of the other local bakeries Ive been to have had higher quality products for less money. Its possible my visit could have been a fluke however I expect a quality product for the premium prices theyre charging.

I love this place! My favorite thing about it is probably that you can create your own breakfast sandwich, so you can build any combo of meat + bread + cheese - its pretty rare that you find a breakfast sandwich on a pretzel bun, which is my favorite kind of bread. Its awesome to have the option, though, to do whatever! The coffee is also delicious and I love the honey and maple lattes. If youre in a rush call ahead as they do make everything fresh which I love!

I ordered custom tiger themed doughnuts for a graduation party. Montclair Bread made it easy to custom order via email, pay online, and the doughnuts were ready to pick up at the requested time. They were the hit of the party!

In times like these you really come to know a business - especially local coffee shapes meant to be hospitable. I tried unsuccessfully to order a donut here a few weekends ago. You have to spend $8 or $10 to use a credit card which is the only payment they take - so $7 with tip wasn’t enough for one donut. Today they are closed so when I came to get a coffee I saw open seating only while I try to conduct a work call and wait for car repair. Someone comes out the front door so I ask nicely are you closed today - when she answers yes I ask can sit at the outdoor open seating to take a call and she replies I’d rather that you not. Well good bye see you again NEVER !

Amazing service and even better pastries. Not a huge fan of boxed cereal, but they found a way to make it work. Huge things are going to come from that kitchen, it’s full of talent.

Visited in mid-October on a weekend. While the entire establishment is very inviting and the outdoor seating is beautiful as are the doughnuts, I actually found the pastries to not be as good as I expected. I bought 10 and for $30, I’d expect these to be most delicious doughnuts I’ve ever eaten. Unfortunately, I found they were rather inconsistent in quality and by and large bready rather than moist. I suspect they are baked rather than fried given how dry they were even after just 24 hours. Naturally doughnuts aren’t meant to be kept around long, but when I eat a doughnut, I want a fried (but not greasy) morsel of heaven. I will say that the cream-filled ones (Tres Leches and Boston) had very good quality custard/cream, so I was impressed there. However, the Nutella one actually felt like a sugar overload. The glazed “pretzel” donuts and the apple cider sugar ones were the types that got quite dry and the dough wasn’t even very flavorful. I’m not sure why the pumpkin doughnuts were so much smaller than the others. Overall, I’ve had much better doughnuts elsewhere and the steep prices here will not encourage my return.

Five star for the bread and donut.However, as customers, we don’t feel welcomed this morning not sure if this is because of recovering and adjusting procedures due to covid. We drove from out of town, stayed in the line and when it was our turn to speak to the waitress, we were told to order online / from the app. We asked why we can’t order in person, but were just told to order online. What a disappointment to be denied service while already spent time in the line.It is good that the store is adjusting and implementing a new way of order. Kudos to that. But, to deny taking orders from customers standing in the line, seems to be too much. Not to say, when we spent another 5 minutes downloading app, making order, the message we got was order will be ready on 9/18, which is 5 days later. Imagine our feeling, taking a four year old anxious boy waiting in line to get doughnut, denied order, extra steps to order online with your son asking 100 questions and order was not successful due to system.Eventually, we ordered through the old way. We appreciate the team keeping business running but also want to remind the team that customer service is still important when running a restaurant.In addition to the unpleasant order experience, another accident happened to my son, while he was enjoying his long-expecting strawberry donut. A bee somehow got into his mouth. As parents, we got panic as we had little outdoor experience and were not sure how to react or treat that. We were aware there was at least one store personnel in the scene, but no help was offered, probably the person was also not sure how to react. With this, i just want to remind the team to be more aware of the environment they are operating in and provide necessary training/guidance in case any future occurrence.Anyway, please reconsider your customer relationship management and business process. You are not a random shop. You are those that customers are willing to drive afar for just one donut.

Best doughnuts in Jersey, hands down.

I was so excited to try this place out after reading all the rave reviews on the internet. Unfortunately, it didnt live up to the hype. I chose to try the brioche bun which turned out to be stale but it did taste like it had potential when fresh. I also purchased 3 [pricey] donuts: dulce the leche, Nutella and maple bacon. All didnt taste fresh. Tres leche was the most dissapointing ...I am Spanish and have tasted my fair share of delicious homeade tres leches cake and this didnt even have a hint of resemblance to the original dessert. The Nutella was eh. The maple bacon had potential if it were fresh.

Pastries are great, however, they do not know how to be organized with the new service style and they are all kind of frustrated looking... do not try to order coffee because it will be cold and served with only one sugar and a drop of cream... they do not read the notes on your order. Sent an email to get a coffee correct next time, they didn’t care...

Nice place but annoying setup during COVID changes. Everything had to be ordered online and certain items are only available on certain days. Way too many restrictions when it comes to bakery item choices. Id rather go somewhere where I can see, choose and purchase what I want.

This is for my wife and not for me since I didnt eat anything but she loved the donuts! People working there were nice but I would recommend buying online before coming.

You cant go wrong with any of the doughnuts offered here - and dont pass up a Yum Bun if theyre available (like a brioche & sugared cousin of a cinnamon roll). Though I havent had one - yet - the breakfast sandwiches are supposed to be fab as well. Attended our first MBCo pizza night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well be back for breakfast pastries and more. Staff is fantastic, too - friendly, organized and more courteous than Id be if I had to deal with the public during a pandemic! Honestly, theres no reason NOT to try this place.
