Called today to get a price on a whole ribeye per pound and was told her could not give me a price over the phone. I could understand if i was going to be coming in a week to pick it up but I informed him i would be going today to get it WITH IN THE HOUR. how can meat price change that fast that they cant give me the price over the phone. How can I walk in and get it that us like if you were ordering tacos from our restaurant and i told you I cant tell you how much you will have to come in side to get a price.

A wide variety of meat that you wont find at your local Harris Teeter, Food Lion or Publix. It was nice to see the variety, nothing I know how to prepare, but if you are looking for the hard to find, then this is the place for you.

First and maybe last time here.. everything is overpriced! My first impression when walking in was, oh nice. Clean and organized.I was disappointed in the fruit though. Im having guests over and wanted to get a variety of fruit, but they were all about to go bad. The apples were shriveled up and soft. The green ones had black spots on them.The only good thing was the pork shoulder. Looked very fresh and well-priced. 👍🏼

With staff and management that are always smiling and always helpful. The produce is on point with some Latin American fruits and vegetables that are always fresh. I would recommend anyone and everyone to shop at Compare Foods.

The produce is great and the meat is kept fresh and is well organized multiple times throughout the day. Very friendly cashiers who make sure to help you will anything that you need. Check out the bakery on Saturday mornings because there are freshly baked donuts and bread! The workers are very hard working and family orientated.

Great place for an interesting variety of fresh, reasonably priced produce! Cheeses sold from the deli case are good, as well as the fresh bakery desserts. Love this place!

Some items are very cheap, others not so much. The produce section is great. Good quality and there are things you cant find anywhere else. The rest of the store has Mexican specialty items but not much else. A little dingy and funky smelling however.

First time shopping in one of these supermarkets and I was very impressed with the exported products isle here. Store is kinda small but very organized. Customer service was fantastic here store manager (young guy) actually showed me around the store - very helpful! Will shop here again!

EDIT(3/8/18): Just wanted to come back and update my review because I think they deserve it. Customer service was excellent after this point and went above and beyond to resolve my issue. They explained the situation to me and were very understanding of mine. Was promptly contacted back by the manager and they made it right and honored the original agreement. They will be my go to from now on for bulk chicken and other meats that I may need when the occasion arises. I love this store! I can get everything I need in one place. Forget Wall-Mart! My family and I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. They have the best produce around. Their meat prices cant be beat. If you are on a budget, and want to make ends meet, stop wasting money and shop here.

This places has some unique items (Mexican and African foods) not found in most stores. The prices are great. The only drawback was the narrow isles and slight dusty/moldy smell. Reminded me of some shops in other lands!

Went Grocery shopping for New Years havent been here in a while and all I have to say is WOW. This place is totally remodel a lot of new faces, prices are a little steep but well worth it !! New ownership i believe

I like to buy a lot of vegetables and appreciate cheap and fresh produce that Compare Foods offers in Monroe. The produce variety is great and I love their deals. I bought a huge bag of green peppers for just $3, a full bag of green beans for just 3 dollars (I think it was on sail for 80c/p). Today they sold tomatillos for 59 c/p. I went home with a FULL shopping cart and payed just $60. I have to admit, I bought just veggies and meat, but my cart was full of healthy food.Also, I have to mention the staff. They are really, really friendly folks and are always willing to help. Today I was looking at tomatillos. I had no idea what they are and I had no idea what to do with them. The produce staff saw me looking at it and ask me straight away if they can help. He told me how they can be prepared and I ended up buying a whole bag of these green tomatoes. It was just $2 and they taste fantastic!It is also okay to buy dairy and meats there. I LOVE their blood sausage. I think it is prepared in the butchery there.However, I dont like their breads. I think they offer only white bread. The dally is also very poor. But the produce really makes up for it!If you are looking for great and cheep produce, this is a place to go in Charlotte / Monroe.

I just by a certain product, which is a very good price.

My husband Brought lobster tails from here last night about 7pm. I put them in the freezer bc my kids changed their mind about eating them. So I took them out(today @4pm) to unthaw and after unthawing the meat smelled bad and had a dark color to it!!! I call the store to talk to a manager- who ever answered said they were so I told her the problem and this lady didnt understand some of the stuff I was saying but I told her they was going to give my kids food poisoning and she going to tell me bring back receipt and well take care of it. I said I dont see it here but my husband may have it, she gonna say thats the only way I can take care of it. Hell the label is here in the package!! The store,date, number and all only thing is missing is the time!! Now if my kids wouldve have ate this bad meat and wouldve gotten sick. It wouldnt been pretty!!!!
