Decent Freddies for what it should be, the reason for the 1 star review is that there is no enforcement about any kind of mask policy or social distancing with both the staff and the customers.
They have one door in the grocery section open at 6am, but no checkstands open. They expect you to check out your own groceries. Walked out and left a full cart of groceries. They dont pay me to check out my own groceries!
Great friendly store that has good deals, and treats people with the utmost respect, and their customer service department goes above and beyond their duty to help people. Love this store.
No enforcement of state mask mandate. The majority of people I saw in the store yesterday were unmasked. The lady in line in front of me asked the cashier if it was a problem that she didnt have a mask and he said no. Looking back at the reviews now it looks like they have never enforced masking. Will never go back.
David Barger, the store manager, literally told me he saw someone on camera steal my money and then proceeded to basically laugh in my face while I was visibly distressed when i asked if Fred Meyer would do something about it. With the economy literally in shambles, you would think someone would show slightly more compassion for the situation? Anyways, Fred Meyer should do a lot better with hiring. The manager is useless. He was too scared to come handle the situation himself it was super weird. Like thats your job bud. To manage.
This had been my favorite grocery store in Monroe. By far. Because of MS I can’t stand too long, walk too far, or carry too much. So after the remodel I could no longer shop without using their handicap carts. That was a blow to me. But I accepted it. Until 6 of 8 shopping trips, the cart stopped working somewhere in the middle of the store. That was embarrassing. What do you do in that situation? Several times I asked to talk to the manager so I could tell him/ her that the carts didn’t work. Him/ her never saw fit to speak to me or to replace the carts. I stopped shopping at FM. I got food delivered during Covid but that’s not a good way to shop- one never ends up with quite what you need or want. I stopped shopping at FM for several months. I returned today to get some beef bones. The carts had several new signs on them telling me how to drive and that the cart would stop going if too far outside the store. (Maybe I’m the problem?) The cart stopped going several times IN the store, not necessarily when I was close to anything, twice in the middle of the aisle, blocking the aisle. It would go again after a minute. They were out of beef bones but the butcher kindly cut some for me. The cart stopped going completely just outside the store. I had to walk to my car and back it up to get the groceries. If you don’t have MS (or the like), this is a pretty good place. But it’s run by people who apparently want us with disabilities to fall off the planet. Not nice people. Oh. Yeah. Six nice beef bones cost $16.80. Yikes!
Been going here for a long time, but with the recent issues of the pandemic, it has been really difficult to want to go in and grab my stuff. I see too many people not wearing a mask and coughing on everything, it no longer holds up with the cleaning and the floor is rather disgusting, and there is too much going on around the floor like cart flipping, racing, and yelling to even consider going in anymore. I used to like coming here but Id rather go somewhere else.
Through most of the pandemic, I’ve relied on this particular location as a safe place to shop where I saw consistent mask usage and the ability to socially distance while picking up groceries for my family. On my most recent visit however, I saw multiple families walking without masks (not down below their nose, but entirely absent). At one point, I was approached by an employee, and that person had on a netted mask that clearly provided no Covid protection whatsoever. It seems wildly apparent to me that this store is not enforcing company policy.
An especially kind and efficient cashier, Nani, stopped to show me how to work the coupon app on my phone. It only took a minute and lifted my day with such cordiality.
Ive generally had good experiences at this store, even through the pandemic. Since the pandemic started, weve relied more on curbside pickup and only occasionally go inside. When we do go inside, Ive never seen any employees going maskless (though I do periodically see customers without them, and a couple that just looked like theyd try to shoot me if I said anything about it).Main complaint: We frequently get incorrect substitutions on our curbside orders that we have specifically said we didnt want (e.g. Any other flavor of this brand of dog food is fine, but no other brands, then getting a completely different brand anyway). When I asked the most recent person who brought out our order about this, he just said Yeah, some of the pickers read that, some of them dont. Were just going to have to say No substitutions allowed if we cant rely on employees to read our orders correctly.Otherwise, very little to complain about. I do miss their old electronics department, though.
Cant/wont wear a mask shop here... be polite the people are great.
Best place to buy a multitude of foods and drinks. Lots of milk, bread, and produce. Like a more expensive Costco but this is much closer.
More selection than your regular grocery store, and the staff is very friendly. Unless you self- check, youll most likely be waiting in a long line though, seems to never be enough check-out lanes open.
Just heard from my wife they failed to fully clean the womans bathroom and signed off on it. One point reduction for that.Lots of great deals for the holidays, so lots of people are here
The workers are nice, things are clean, and they have lactose free milk.
Typically clean with friendly employees. Garden center is organized and has a good selection of plants and tools.
Seth was so great with my click list order! Thank you Seth!
The location used to be good. Then they renovated, added more self check out And a lot less check stands. I stop here every now and then thinking maybe it got better from the last time I was in. Every time I’m disappointed. If your looking to make a quick trip to the grocery store. This isn’t the place to do it.
Good prices on gas and food plus save even more by signing up for their rewards program which is also usable at all QFC locations! This Fred Meyers opened when i was under 10 years old and they just recently remodeled the building and modernized everything inside which helped them stay even more relevant. Im assuming this was due to the wal-mart opening a couple blocks away a few years back.
Prices comparable. Cute clothes for 14 year old grand daughter. I like Freds, alot
Great customer service by any employee that is encountered here. This place has it all. Furniture selection. An amazingly fresh LARGE produce section hands down best place to get your fresh produce around these parts. An electronics section that is very organized and professional.HANDICAP?! ~ Dont worry because Fred Meyer has amazing Handicap parking spots...also Van Accessible parking spots.T.V. selection? Yes! They have a 65 Samsung Curved T.V. and many other brands...versions...L.E.D. and smart televisions.~ Loyal Customer
This place does not carry some of the best high quality plant based products in tattooed chef branded products. Please get these in your location ASAP so that I can justify coming back to your store
Love this store. Great courtesy clerks and helpful baggers! Need more lights in the parking lot at night its shady as hell!
It is a very good place to buy all of your groceries. They even offer pickup and delivery.
Rude lady in the uscan checkout in the back of the store...stood behind me and told another customer to wait for her assistance so she could make sure that I didnt mess up my order, as she stood behind me in earshot. She should try to pull some good customer skills out sometime.
Friendly staff great layout of the store lots of selection very clean and tidy isles
I had amazing customer service from a young man named Eric in the self check out department! He was super sweet & had an amazing attitude even during an international pandemic. I will be back with my business card to try to steal him 😁
So Love the One Stop Shopping! Had everything I needed, thank you All.
Unasked employees. No enforcement of masking policy. Plague rats as far as the eye can see. Counted at least 8
A good, clean store to grab your groceries. Prices arent too bad, and the checkers and baggers are all really nice people who obviously work really hard. Its sometimes difficult to get help with furniture or TVs...but we are currently in a pandemic so we all have to understand that staff may be limited. My only problem is they stock some things I buy regularly too high, so either I think they are out or I cant reach them and have to find someone taller to help me. They cant help how short I am though so I cant really blame the grocery store!
I have always liked Fred Meyers. But, recently every time i go there. Their out off what I need. Upon their remolding of the store. Theyve gone down hill. Lately when i go shopping their i have to stop at Safeway to make up for what Fred Meyers didnt have.
Reasonable prices, friendly employees and no lines at checkout
FredMeyer I Love this PlaceBecause it has a pharmacy I have been going to this Fred Meyers Pharmacy for 20 years very good employees thank you kindly Ricardo Lopez from Sultan Washington
The person in charge at the uscan was very helpful!
Excellent quality, impressive selection.
Very expansive collection of items, from groceries to clothes to garden tools. Wide selection at affordable prices and very convenient. Staff are always polite and helpful.
Shame on you, Fred Meyer for green products with deceptive labeling. You are displaying straws that claim to be compostable. There is nothing on the front label to clarify this has nothing to do with normal home composting. Only on the back, in tiny, sneaky little fine print does it say it is NOT COMPOSTABLE in home composts. You are deceiving your customers, who trust you and let our guard down, to be forthright and up front.
Big parking lot and huge selection of items.
I tend to go Fred Meyer because their prices are better than Safeway and they have a few key items that arent carried at Safeway. However, whoever does the ordering for this store either needs to be replaced or retrained. They are ALWAYS out of at least 3 items on my list, and often times its the same things week after week. Like the Coconut milk Oui Yoplait yogurt or Progresso Minestrone soup. The person doing the ordering should also be shopping in the same store so they can see whats getting used and whats not. I also think their selection has gone down. Since the remodel the only choices you have for almost all items is Kroger brand and one other brand, maybe 2 other brands if your lucky. And Kroger brand items are really sub par. I really wish we had a Winco in Monroe!
Staff is helpful and friendly! Prices are good and comparable. There’s always lots of good sales! Love the online coupons. The corporate is doing something right with policies because their staff is willing to help and makes the difference to make things right! They go that extra mile. There’s never wait time either. My go to shopping place. The only complaint I have is people smoking so close to the doors.
Fred Meyers is wonderful! I love how all the Kroger brand (their brand) items Ive tried are so good for so less. They do have good deals all the time! I have yet to leave the store for over $100.00. I dont have a big family, but still, Thats pretty amazing for this day and I eat very healthy!
This store has always been helpfully, and courteous in the many, many years we have shopped there. But since the remodel they have simply lost there way when it comes to electric carts for the disabled and seniors. 90% of our grocery and many other item have been purchased at this store. I have asked many times when they will fix the problem and never a good answer. Now we will take our business some place else and see what the future brings with this store. Many of our local friends have expressed the same problems.
Disappointed right now at FM.... it is NOT SAFE!!!Mask wearing is NOT NOT NOT enforced here at the Monroe, WA location. I came to Freddys after going to Walmart and I was so surprised that Walmart is doing an Infinitely better job at protecting their employees and customers. I walked around the whole store for 15 mins and saw 6 people without masks. I will NOT be going back to Any FM until covid is over.
I have always loved Fred Meyer. But the Monroe Fred Meyer right now is going through Renovations, and its kind of a disaster. Hard to find anything and difficult to navigate. Everyone is very helpful, and there are people around to ask questions, but everything just takes so much longer than it should. Hopefully the renovations wont take too long and it will be better than ever.UPDATE: Renovations seem to be basically completed. Im not sure how they did it, but they have made the whole store feel larger. The produce department feels much larger and more like a local market. So far I have been pleasantly surprised to have enough FM employees around to help me locate what I am looking for! Hopefully this will continue for a while as we learn to navigate. Nicely done!
They are so patient. I always have coupons and random strange things but they always come through. Would have been 5 star but they had a price on the shelf that wasnt the price at the register. Great people.
I love Fred Meyer and have done most of my shopping there for a while. But after the recent remodel, I despise shopping there. Well, to be clearer: I despise checking out now. It has honestly dropped my review of it from 5 stars to 2 stars. There are only ever 1-3 lines open with cashiers, and theyre always several carts deep without opening more lanes, forcing people to do self-checkout. I hate self checkout, largely because 75% of my groceries are produce or bulk items, I dont want to deal with a computer just to buy groceries, and it makes me feel like Im working. Also I only go weekly usually, so its a fair amount of items.I would just like one of the friendly, if sometimes invasively inquisitive, cashiers to ring me up. But I have a baby with me usually, who is surprisingly patient but even he is going to lose it when half of our total time at the store is just standing in the dang checkout lane. So Im left to work at the grocery store ringing up my own items with a baby on my chest, because its obnoxious for Mom, but for baby, at least were moving.Really wish management would readjust their expectations of customers to ring up their own groceries. Please.
I have never had a reason to leave a review for Fred Meyers… till I stopped into this location in Monroe. This is the most CLEAN & ORGANIZED Fred Meyers that I have Ever been to! You can tell that the staff at this location take pride in their store. From how friendly people are when you are shopping, to seeing people stop and pick something up without it even being their work area shows how much pride they take in the showmanship of the store. Hands down the most inviting Fred Meyers I have been to. If I’m in the area again, I will for sure choose this location over others to do my shopping.
I came to purchase some items. The young checker seemed like Im gonna do it my way. I asked him to wear gloves or whether he could scan items. He said its safer with sanitizer. I relented and asked him to please use sanitizer. He did. Afterwards hes at it bagging my stuff, hands all over everything. I told him to stop handling my things and that I would bag. He didnt get the message and proceeded to handle and pull all my items together- kind of defeats the purpose when the point is DONT TOUCH!! He got snippy. I lost it! Coworkers crowded around in his defense - BULLYING IN FULL FORCE. NOT THE WAY TO HANDLE AN UPSET CUSTOMER. Young coworkers kind of verbally high five him in front of me - but I would have none of that, and called every one of them on their manner. I could be the worst customer in the world - but you dont pour oil on an upset person, let alone a customer. I am an educator. The youth today feel entitled to stand their ground in industries once known for the customer coming first. It is the times we live in. Now I have to clean everything when I get home. I cant eat my first meal since 1:15 pm today, and it is now 10 pm. I hope that management reads this. But if they are in their 20s I imagine they will scoff. I sacked groceries in my dads store. Had to be an example. Son or not he would have canned me and put the entire crew on notice after tonight. The customer MUST COME FIRST!
Tim in the Boars Head deli went out of his way to help me when it was busy and he could have easily denied my request. Fantastic customer service.
Excellent store and friendly staff thats always willing to help.
Great store. Been shopping here since its doors opened. Friendly staff and competitive prices. They are going through a remodel so somethings are out of place and its very busy. The store is looking great with a new larger Starbucks. Lots of registers and a self checkout for an easy check out process.
HORRIBLE service. I waited at the apparel counter to check out for 5 minutes. The Apparel employee sat talking with the Electronics employee near his section for ages, turned and saw me, then turned back around and continued her conversation. I thought that since we made eye contact, she would come and help me after finishing up her conversation, but NOPE. I waited for an additional 5 minutes, and then said to her Hello? Can I please be checked out? And she paused her conversation... AND THEN IGNORED ME AND CONTINUED TALKING. I could have literally walked out that door with my groceries. I can no longer find the familiar, friendly staff that Ive loved for the last few months. Just a bit over a month ago it was fine! I guess the only good employees were seasonal ones. The only friendly face I could find is the Self Check Out attendant. I will be contacting the Apparel Manager to figure out what is going on with this.
Has most things you would be looking for
Without warning they now require a shopper card or charge you more. All shoppers matter. End discrimination.
Great service and lots of self checkout stands
Really great inventory, friendly workers. I just shopped there and the young man cashier was very polite and did well striking small conversation with customers in line. I am so happy that this Fred Meyer just so happens to be the closest department/grocery store near me. Its my new main store to shop for me and my family. :)
Nice, large Fred Meyer with a lot of diversity.Great customer service.I had to return a phone cord w/ receipt but was long time cause I kept forgetting to go. I was prepared to explain why it took me so long and that the cord never worked. To my surprise they had no problem doing it, without explanation, I am sure they noticed how new the cord was but still...no questions asked.
The local Fred Meyer here in Monroe is great. Employees are always very nice. I wish their meat section had more selections. Also, the Nike apparel is not very expansive, nor is the toy section. Other than that, the store is pretty decent overall.
This department store has such a good small-town feel and always seems well kept, clean, and reasonably priced, often with some GREAT sales!!! I usually do the self check-out, because I am a control freak. But, the check-out clerks area always friendly and efficient too!
Freddys > Walmart10/10 slaps
Typical grocery+ type store. Finding help and the quality of it can vary significantly. I dont like how slow the self checkout is because of the computer needing to go through its whole bit with saying the price and telling you to place the item in a bag. Then if you take too long or try to readjust anything its telling you to put the last item back.
This is for the Monroe WA store. Their produce seems better than others in town. Plenty of variety. Restroom is small for the crowd size. They lose a star for their anemic sporting goods.
This was a busy shopping trip due to tomorrow being a Valentines day. This store had cashiers going on all check stands. The shelves were organized, even the holiday area! Parking was a bit crowded. Having been to a nearby store though; I am not complaining.
Good selection of items. Staff is efficient when it comes to long lines.
Hi, I just was at Fred Meyers and I do like the wider aisles. Will check out the clothes and household items. And hopefully enjoy like I did before. I cant forget the garden area . Peace out
Super clean. Very friendly employees. I mean really friendly. Where, or how, do the find all these friendly employees? The pharmacy has a semi private waiting area as you wait for your flu shot to be prepared. Again, so clean:)
Their remodel is absolutely fantastic. They have many whole and organic foods right in front. Overall a great wide variety.
This is where we get our groceries. We have always gotten good service here.
I have been coming here my whole life and love this store the only thing that I hate is the bathroom....it either constantly reeks of poop or is so over sprayed with an odor elimantor that you walk in and choke. I really wish they would prop the door open or something to get a better air flow in there..
Decent store with pricing that is mostly good. They have a random selection of grocery items and home item. There organic pricing is good.
Lately it seems that my go-to store has become the sorry we dont stock that item anymore store. Kind of a bummer, since I really liked shopping there. People are still super friendly, and when I do find what I need its easy to get in and get out.
The employees and selection make this the best Fred Meyer store that I have shopped in thus far. Every employee I have encountered so far seems happy, helpful, and genuinely friendly. Produce, meat and dairy always fresh and well stocked.
Friendly Meyers, The best way to describe the people whom take care of you. The staff doesnt seem to work there, theyre there more to make you happy that you came in to say hi and pickup some stuff
Store is always clean and well stocked. Employees are friendly. The parking lot is a mess. Poor layout with heavy foot and vehicle traffic. They have a good selection of health foods and alternative diets at a decent price. Wide range of brands.
Overall experience is good. If you want to shop locally and just need to buy a quick gift, household items, or check some things off your grocery list, this is a good place to go too! This is the only local store with the largest selection of organic food. Ive had a good experience ordering deli meats and cheese from here. The variety and amount of produce is the better than Safeways and Walmarts selection. The bread is good here as well as some deserts they have in their bakery section. They now have whole wheat as well! I would still do a cake or cupcake order at Safeway because it tastes better than Fred Meyer. Deli meats have gone up in price so make sure to check local ads for a good deal!
Just about everything under the sun. All departments are stocked and its easy to get help
Place is seems to be always busy but the employees are always so kind and always ask if you need help finding anything the cashiers were very quick to scan and they always have a smile on their face whenever they are scanning your items. I think personally this Fred Meyer is a great Fred Meyer than the others just because they have a really good attitude as well as a personality all the other Fred Meyer seems to be more rude than this Fred Meyer.
Too spread out; dairy along back wall but eggs over in another side cooler, and other cool products further over in another cooler. Produce section cut in half by construction. Customers must walk way too many isles searching for products such as paper goods and pet food. Just not set up for pleasant shopping. Should not have to keep asking where things are.
The people at my neighborhood Fred Meyers have always been VERY helpful and courteous. My husband and I have been shopping there for many years and will continue to do so. Its so nice to have a large company that cares about it s customers.
Since the remodeling prices hiked, never any baggers so you bag your own, or wait for cashiers to bag..now they charge for cash back.. .think its a little exstream to cut baggers out... takes more time in lines to wait for cashiers to bag, wont do any big time shopping there.. think they lost the customer service end. Too bad I loved shopping there.
Nice people there! Very helpful.
Best store ever. If you need any help in the produce area, ask for Frank. He is very helpful and a delight to be assisted by.
Just to let every one know. This Fred Meyer is going to start a remodel in April 2018. Right now there is a lot of sales and Items marked down you wont find at any other Fred Meyer and more the closer they get to the remodel. They are also going to be carrying less stock of everything leading up to the remodel so there is not so much product to be moved around. This is a heads up during the remodel alot of things are going to be moved or completely not there and whole departments could be closed. Also the whole store could be closed for a day or two to a week to two weeks.
Excellent redesign! I particularly like the spacious produce area that greets me as I enter!
I always have a great experience. Great service great people. Thanks fredmyers
I love shopping at fred meyers they are always helpful and nice
Smelly staff, rude customer service. Sale items out of stock constantlyUpdated review:I now have become a regular shopper after finding a few really great employees at this location, Shawna and Connie are cashiers who always are so friendly, welcoming, and treat our family like their own! They make my shopping trip feel like I’m seeing a friend. Also one of the management staff Vance is so kind and always remembers us as well. I think any of the bad apples get spoken with here and issues seem to find resolve because of management. I love using the app to receive coupons easily and has points here. This is now my favorite go to store. Other employees Sue in the deli, Elle in the seafood, and Joy in clothing are all so wonderful as well, people you want to know by name after visiting with.
I love this store! :) The deals are great, the employees are always wonderful and helpful and its a great place to shop with kids as there is child care available. ;)edit: They no longer have the childcare. :( But! Still a great store. :)
More new vegan products all the time. I just wish they were in all one place. Murdered animals flesh is not the same as soy and should not be in the same frozen/fridge case. More Kroger meatless nuggetz!!!!
People are wonderful. Designer of store in Monroe should be forced to shop a random grocery list, be fired, be forced to go back to school or find a new job. Pick one. Organization extremely irritating. Virtually impossible to walk a logical path. Virtually impossible to find an item and/or retrieve it safely e.g. full fat coconut milk on a different aisle than the lite version, eggs in a cold box with a door that either hits your arm or the egg carton, sugar-free cookies not with other cookies, dog food organized in some random pattern with brands spread out over multiple aisles. Never thought I would day this but if your mobility is a challenge, go to another store.
Store is currently being rebuilt at night so has a lot of areas blocked off. Very narrow isles but this is all temporary. Cant wait to see the finished product.
Since the Fred Meyer remodeled I cant find anything. And the self check out has to go. Monroe was a great little town and so was the Fred Meyer.
Clean store, nicely faced aisles and friendly staff. Meat department was especially helpful with their advice on what two cuts I had picked out, would taste better. They were right!
Checker was awful! So rude! Too busy talking to coworkers to notice that I needed help. Done and over Fredmeyer. I will go somewhere else. This is getting to be the norm.
Fred Meyers is a great store, has everything you need. Best produce department around. Friendly employees, my favorite store to shop.
I will never forget the exceptional service i received for a complaint on my wedding ring repair by the grocery manager! She exceeded my expectations on service And fixed the situation when the jewelry department failed to do their due diligence further it was my 25th anniversary and even though i didnt have my ring on my very special day she sid EVERYTHING in her power to try and make up for that ( something i never asked for or expected)
