I was apprehensive about scheduling a new patient appointment since it had been over 30 years since I had appointed for a vision exam. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the front office team member that made my appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, I was warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. The entire team, including the doctor, was friendly and professional. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the office, as well. I am happy that I chose this office for my vision care. Always a pleasure to see Dr. Holly Hardie for my eye exams. She is personable, professional, knowledgeable, and I totally entrust her with the care of my eyesight. I had also recently seen one of her capable colleagues, and she too was very helpful.

I havent been to Great Lakes Vision Care for 3 years, and alot had changed. It was the first time I had an exam with Dr Holly and I was so impressed with the time she took to explain everything to me. I also was helped after the exam by Brenda and she too was friendly and knowledgeable. I went back to pick up my sunglasses 6 days later and again was not disappointed with the staff. I ended up getting a new pair of glasses with the help of a lady but cannot recall her name. My experience was exceptional.

Dr Ashley and her team are very friendly and helpful. They definitely take their time and make sure they answer questions and go that extra mile to listen to the patient and make sure you get the correct prescription of lenses (contacts for me). Thanks

Erin, an assistant who worked with me prior to the optometrist coming in, took care of pre-examination protocols (what letters I could read from afar with a covering over either eye without my glasses on, etc.). Very pleasant personality! Dr. Hollie is excellent to work with professionally. Shes thorough in her examination and easy to talk to and answers questions. She had Hannah, a typist, put in information in the eye charts to alleviate Dr. Hollie from that job, so that she could spend more time with her patients. I was impressed with that efficient time management undertaking. The staff member I went to after the examination suggested a way for my insurance to pay in an appropriate way with my general physician since I needed cataract surgery. This is something I hadnt thought of, so I appreciated the idea and it worked!

Ive been going there for years! The staff is friendly and helpful. The techs are wonderful and Dr. Holly is my star! She is so friendly and an expert at what she does. Thank you to the doctors and staff for all you do!! And the new office is beautiful!!

Honestly, the best eye care I have every received. The doctors are willing to explain things, as well as listen to concerns or thoughts. All the other staff are incredibly nice, patient, and knowledgeable. I wouldnt recommend anywhere else.

I had a quick issue arise with my vision and I still had 5 months left until I could get new glasses. They got me in to see Dr. Hardie and she diagnosed my issue and fixed me up with new lenses in no time ( 3 days ) processing time and my vision has never been better! All of the office staff is great and treat me with respect and kindness! They will have my business for a long time to come.

Care is quick and efficient at Great Lakes Vision Care. Dr. Burgess has checked my eyes for years and I trust his accuracy, as well as his consistent interest in making sure I understand the process. He addresses concerns clearly and kindly as I age, which I greatly appreciate.

The staff at Donahue Optical always friendly and very helpful. They have a great selection of frames, and they will work with you to try to find your best look. When you are there, you are not treated as just another number. They care about theyre customers and will help you any way they can. Five stars all the way!Update -As with much, things change over time, and time has not been kind. The old staff are still top notch. The new staff leave much to be desired.

Great lakes Vision was absolutely out standing!!!! Had an eye infection and on the day it started the doctor had already left for the day, he returned to the office to examine me. The staff was great during the worst of the illness they were seeing me every other day. Absolutely love the entire staff and Doctors!!!!! Thanks a million for helping me thru the scariest thing I have experienced in many years......

The social theory of disability is that its not our ailments that disable people, but society that does so (especially through lack of access). The people at Great Lakes Vision accommodated my needs so well that I was not disabled while there -- they made sure that I had total access.I have two physical issues that relate to my visit.1. I have incredibly light-sensitive eyes. The team kept lights as dim as possible and was OK with my wearing sunglasses during conversations. My doctor is making sure the tint on my new contacts is the darkest available as well.2. I cant sit for long without pain; I spend most of my days lying on the couch. In the main room, there was one bench in the kids area; after my appointment, team members let me sit there and came to me. During my appointment, we found ways to get me comfortable, and I was given breaks.This was much more than I thought possible, and I am beyond grateful.

Office is always clean. They understand my insurance. Appointments are on time. Staff is super and Dr.s are even better.

I called to schedule an appointment and asked if my insurance carrier was accepted before scheduling the appointment. The scheduler said she would go ahead and schedule and check into the insurance. I stated that I didnt want to drive out to the appointment, only to have my insurance declined. She said that I would be given a call before the appointment if it was not accepted. I assured her that it was a long drive and that I would need to know if it was accepted, she again said someone would call me and let me know if it was not accepted I never received a call, and trusted her word that it would be accepted since no one called. I arrived and was given paper work while my insurance card was entered in. I was told that my insurance was not accepted. I assured them that I had spoke to someone whom had told me they would check and that if I did not receive a call, that it was approved. She apologized, which is great, but then explained that it must have fallen through the cracks. It was a 60 min drive, and unfortunately, customers should not fall through the cracks, especially not new ones.

I am very unhappy. I have gotten three pairs of glasses in the last 4 years from there: sun glasses, safety glasses and regular (everyday) glasses. I cant read with any of them without eye-strain. Ive been back several times with all three pairs to let them know. Theyve adjusted to no avail. The lenses are just not right and they dont seem to want to acknowledge my inability to see clearly, insisting that the lenses are the right script. At $500 a pop for the sun glasses and regular glasses that I cant see clearly thru, I am very upset. I will not be going back there.

Saw Dr. Ashley and she is AMAZING!! I’ve had an astigmatism my whole life and have never been educated on the issues associated with it until now. I also suffer from dry eyes and again, she gave me so much insight behind it and the issues I’ve been having. She successfully diagnosed my eye issue that has been happening since last year and has a plan for me. I am so lucky to have found such a passionate and thorough eye doctor! The staff is wonderful as well, very helpful and patient. I highly recommend this facility!

After over 2 years of languishing with another provider, I started asking all the locals I knew, where do you get your glasses. Donahue was the only answer I got. Now I know why.Excellent customer care, excellent eye doctors with state of the art optical examinations which work, my glasses were optically perfect, I could use them from day one.Great service, great customer focus, I highly recommend this provider!

After reading reviews from google I decided to try Great Lakes Vision Care. All of the employees are very helpful & kind. My optometrist, Ashley, answered all of my questions and took special care of my eye needs. She really listened to what I was telling her about my vision. The glasses & contacts are reasonably priced. The rest of the staff went out of their way to help with my vision needs, as well. From beginning to end I felt like a person instead of a number. I would highly recommend Great Lakes Vision Care to anyone.

Great staff meet all my needs

Took way to long to get my glasses. Keep calling and they keep saying they will be in this day. Called after a couple days they where suppose to be in still not in. They over charged my insurance. I know one thing I wont be back.
