Customer service from the financial guy ((trash ) who buys a car with expired tags !!! With no explanation now I guess I’m supposed to wait for DMV while having to cancel my oncology dr appointments. Happen to find this dealership through car gurus me and the wife took the drive out there even though it was over 50 miles away their website showed a great variety of cars and trucks. Both sales guy and financial guy were very helpful and polite not pushy at all like some dealerships. We found The Chrysler 300 S that we have been looking for Price was very fair and most important car was very clean. Very happy with our purchase. 2 years ago, I went to check out a Veloster, and the price was 9900 dollars. I asked to buy it for 7000, cause I didnt like how low it was. I know I had to buy different springs if I got it, to raise it up more. Nope got turned down. Then I said 8000. Nope still got turned down. Then I said 8500. Nope still got turned down. Then I left, and they could of gotten that car off the lot with cash in hand. So I went to Blue Diamond, and got a good deal on a Tc Scion. Should of took the money. Oh well.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Purchased a 2010 GMC sierra 4x4 from them had a airbag light on they told me they would fix it, never did. I have had the truck for about three months not even 4K miles since I bought it and the transfer case went bad on me (a few grand too fix) which didnt let me drive the truck maybe a month after I bought it. Than the oil pressure sensor went out as well, (truck currently does not run due to a Lifter going bad contacted them spoke with Sal to see if they can help me pay partial of the repairs. I tell him about the issues and he says OK he will help me and never calls back also never received my license plate with my registration now I have to go to the DMV and get it myself. Thanks Chris for ignoring the situation and selling a unsafe vehicle.

I didnt know at first that he was from a dealer, but he was very fair and educated me on sellling my car to them. Sal gave me a fair offer and I brought the Jeep to them. We bought our daughter in for her first time car purchase. It was the most pleasant and smooth transaction ever. Sales man were exceptional.

I write this with a heavy heart. I like the staff and feel bad, but i am not happy with the way i was treated. Easy sale for them. My son liked a car and we bought it. I test drove it a week earlier at the mchenry lot and had it sent to Mitchells for the purchase. I didnt test drive it again. Big mistake on my part. George told me if i had any issues to let him know. I contacted him the next day with a list of issues: sunroof doesnt close (didnt notice until i went fast and heard it), back-up camera doesnt work (i didnt put it in reverse on the test drive), tire sensors, brakes, oil light on, tires are bad. They dealt with the brakes, sensors, replaced 2 tires even tho all 4 needed to be changed, and changed the oil. They acted if they did me a favor. No. These are safety issues and needed to be done by law. George specifically told me that he would repair the the sunroof but to give him time to figure out the most cost effective way for him. When it came down to it he said he cant bcuz it cost too much. I didnt even bother discussing the back-up camera. They did remind me that i bought the car as-is. Yup, i did. I trusted that i could buy a car from a reputable dealership free from these issues. And even tho i bought it as-is its about doing whats right instead of getting over on people. Its about taking care of your customers so they are happy with their purchase and buy again from you and/or refer their friends. I buy cars often for both my son and i and ive never had so many issues like i did here. Like i said, staff is nice but unfortunately i will not be back.

I sold my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to 5 Star Auto Sales.I listed my Jeep on craigslist and was entertaining the usual tire-kickers when I received a call from Anthony. Right off the bat he told me he was with a dealer out of Modesto....I was skeptical, but heard him out. He made it sound easy....too easy. He quoted me a fair price and even offered to drive the 75 miles up to Sacramento to pick it up. Sounded too good to be true.Then came the part I didnt feel comfortable with. He said he would be paying with a Cashiers Check. He took the time and addressed my concerns earnestly. He even offered to met me at an in-town bank so I could verify the check was legit. I was just waiting for the catch....but it never came. Once we worked out the details, Anthony forwarded me a picture of the cashiers check.The next morning, we met outside my local bank. We went for a quick test drive, and then he handed me the check. Next he accompanied me into the bank, where I verified the funds. We shook hands, and that was it, the funds were in my account the same day.All in all, what could have been a nightmare, turned out to be an outstanding experience. I listed my car on Craigslist, specifically saying that I will not accept cashiers check, money orders or private checks...CASH ONLY. 5 Star Auto called me the first day of the ad and we agreed on the price and he said he had the cash. The next day, they asked me to drive my car to Modesto from Linden. I had not known they were a used car dealership and thought the person was coming to my house. Then I learn that they were going to give me a cashiers check. He said he will go to the bank with me to make sure I get the cash. Well folks, for your information, you can get the cash but the cashiers check may turn up bogus a week later. I tried to tell him that, and he wouldnt listen. So I said if you have that CASH, you can have the car. Otherwise this deal is over. And so it was over.

So friendly and honest, truly enjoyed doing business with the sales staff at FIVE STAR AUTO.

Buyer Beware! I went to 5 Star to see if they still had a certain car I was interested in ... it sold already, but I test drove one similar to it, but didnt want the manual transmission. The sales people were very pushy and did everything but lay down and cry to get me to buy a car from them. See, Im one of those fools that walked onto the lot with cash money. I explained that I recently was laid off and that my 4 runner had just been totaled in an accident and could only afford what retirement I had saved up because I no longer had an income. Long story short ... I bought a 2006 Pontiac G6 that they said couldnt go out the door for less than $14,000, which tells me it must be in tip top shape. After my test drive, I asked them about the funny noise coming from the front end and told them a few days later that the brakes were squeaking ... they looked at me like I didnt know what I was talking about and that was that. I also was upset at the fact that I left $13,000 cash that day and a few days later when making my file for the car I look at the receipt they gave me and it said $8,500. I explained how uncomfortable I was about that, but never received a receipt for the real amount. Something about paying a smaller fee to the DMV ... so now I learn, just a few thousand miles later that the strange noise in the front end is the cv joints and the steering can lock up at any time causing me to have an accident and the brakes are / were shot. I believe they charged me about $5,000 too much for the car and knowingly sold me a vehicle that was unsafe to have on the road.

Bad experience at this place.. Just purchased a car 2weeks ago and it already needs maintenance.. They had told me it was in good condition and up to date on everything.. They also said it was gona be one Price and it ended up way more than that.. Interest is way to much at this place.. I so regret coming to this place . they dont want the car back and it hasnt been 30days.. They only give you one day for deadline..

Would give them a negative review if i could. They hid hella scratchs with wax so when i got my truck washed for the first time the wax came off and all the scratchs were noticable. Took it down there to see what they could do since i just spent hella money on this truck and they just brushed me off.... never again will i go here. And ill make sure i tell everyone i know!!! I would like people to beware what you are buying from this lot. We thought buying an o6 silverado with low miles from a lot that claimed safty was our best bet. We were wrong. Yes we have had the truck for almost 2 years an the rear end goes out. Ok it happens but the fact that once we had the rear end out of the truck they had by past the emergency brake an now the shop thats trying to take care of all the other problems we are now having because who ever they had install the lift an heavy duty rear end tampered with the computer. Make sure u check EVERYTHING when making a deal with these guys.
