Let me just say this….. I’m 50 years old been wearing glasses since I was 10, contacts since I was in my late 20’s due to astigmatism. This place did exams, glasses, contacts on my husband and I and were out in about an hour and half. Adam, the sales associate not only had to endure my husbands stories with a smile but had to deal with our pickiness in what we wanted and always ALWAYS made us feel like we were the most important people in the room. He did exactly what we needed and at prices, due to promotions they had, right where we wanted to be. He knows his products and knows how to listen and not be pushy. I have never had an experience like that when getting contacts/glasses and will always go back. The other staff were awesome as well in helping try to make our experience one of not an experience but as an accomplishment in being able to see again. Both myself and husband were in desperate need of new contacts & glasses. LOVE THIS FREAKING PLACE!!!!

With the Covid-19 pandemic going on I wondered how a optometrist would handle my contact lens exam? To my surprise I was placed in a exam chair and an employee Michelle fitted the apparatus in front of me and left the room. She then told me the optometrist was on the screen. I WAS GETTING AN EXAM BY TEL-MED or VIDEO! The Optometrist was congenially professional and when I finished Michelle told me to wash my hands and gave me 2 contact lens to put on. I could see EVERYTHING. The contact prescription was exactly what I needed. Michelle and her co -workers were great! I had called 5 other opticians and none could see me until September. Luckily Stanton Optical had an opening. Words cannot say enough about how professional this place is and the best part is my Contact Lens exam only cost $89 including taxes! Plus I got a prescription for both contact lens and eyrglasses, a pair of contacts, and a bottle of soulution and contact case. Another optometrist quoted me a price of $160. I would highly recommend you visit Michelle and her staff if you need eyeglasses or contacts. They cant be beat in terms of both professional service and price! Update....Returned on Saturday to buy contacts. Found out that I had been prescribed contacts that were over $70 a box. I dont believe there was a medical need or reason for this. Noticed a chill when I asked for a copy of my prescription. Told staff I could find them for at least 40% less online...which I did. Very disappointed that I was not discussed options during my exam and was prescribed one of the most expensive Accuvue Vita made. Too my prescription seems to be written only for these lenses. I am on a fixed income and should have been given an opportunity to had some input into my type of contacts. My last visit has definitely soured my experience with Stanton Optical. This I regret!

My eleven year old needed her first pair of glasses and the manager Michelle was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We recieved a same day appt. Service was friendly and fast and the selection was great. My daughter picked a cute pair of glasses at a terrific price. We will be back!

I have been going to Americas best for 18 years, or she say since my very 1st pair of eyeglasses. The customer service in the value had gone down so much that I decided to try somewhere else. I googled Stan optical and looked at all the reviews in their waz a good mix of reviews but as I know working in customer service most of my life you cannot make everyone happy. My ultimate decision for going in there was because they did have the lowest price for an exam and I had my own pair of frames so really all I needed was the up-to-date example description. I walked out of there in 45 minutes with my exam a complimentary pair of contacts, a Box of contacts order, ordered the frames that I came in with a pair of their frames in a huge smile on my face for less than what I pay for one pair of frames and lenses an eyeglass world
I will never use them again. Customer Service is awful. Everytime you call the number for the Mobile office no one answers and you are transferred to an answering service that cant answer questions. I have asked for documentation for the services that was provided to me for my insurance company and they tell me that my receipt is the documentation. Now Im wondering if it was an actual doctor I saw. I do not recommend this place!

The customer service in the store is nice however not at nice as other stores Ive been to.My dissatisfaction has more to do with the company in general. Theyre prices are already ridiculously high. From my past experience, I paid $350-390 for three pairs of prescription glasses without any insurance. At stanton optical there was a deal buy one get the other free. The good thing is that they truly meant the second pair was free however the one pair I had to pay for was going to be $380. When the price was broken down the lens were $180 dollars alone and my frames were around $120 and there were additional costs. And just to be clear I did not add on anything special on my glasses however they did not even ask me what kinds of lenses I wanted. They just slapped on a price and gave me package like it was a done deal. My experience in other places break the price to every little detail especially the lens to make sure I was not getting more than I needed.Also, my glasses were supposed to come in 2/10/21 and clearly I dont have them. According to the online status its been delayed another week. I called 2 days ago and yesterday and it has still not been shipped. Unbelievable really. Also no one has called me to notify about the delay! I had to call and keep an eye on it myself! Im seriously considering canceling my order and getting a refund. Im truly disappointed in this company. They have got to do better. People dont mind paying for quality but you also have to provide better customer service especially communication. Ive read some bad reviews for this company and I did not want to believe then BUT they are true!!!Please do not be bashful and go ahead and ask for an accurate quote before any examination wherever you go!!!!!

I went to get glasses first time i have ever used your store got eye exam ordered glasses they came in they made wrong prescription so they sent them off again then those came in without my bifocals in themThen sent them off again picked them up yesterday and guess what prescription was wrong again. I have been wearing glasses for a long time have never had a issue like this it was my first time using this company and sadly will be my last.
From the time I walked in the door, all of the ladies were extremely helpful and considerate. I didnt get the ladys name that fulfilled the prescription for me but she was so sweet and caring and went way above and beyond what was expected. I apologize for not asking her name but I left in tears because she was just so amazing and made my experience way less stressful. Such a blessing. Thank you so much!

I get contacts or glasses every two years through my insurance and I couldnt be more unhappy with the exam that a cold woman on a monitor performed. She never gave me the opportunity to speak to her about how well I could see with the adjustments she made. I am going to have to pay out of pocket now for a real exam and hopefully I will be able to see finally.
Never again will I use Stanton optical for my exam or frames! It has been 4 weeks since I had my exam and paid for my frames and I still have not received them. I called customer service and he asked me to wait another 6 days.. of course they blamed it on the weather but still over 4 weeks?! Not to mention they didn’t offer any type of refund or discount off of my next visit or another pair of frames! He just said he can give me a refund and not the glasses but if I want to wait they are estimated to be there in 6 days! My script is very light and I didn’t have anything special with my glasses. I go back to work tomorrow after being out on maternity leave and I was expecting to have my glasses. Very very disappointed!
They were friendly and fast!! Not to mention the eye exam alone with no insurance was super cheap!! The doctor was very nice as well, got me in and out in no time flat!! Will use them again next year!!

I went in for the advertised low price for glasses. When I went into the exam it was a virtual one. The prescription is so bad. Im actually looking online for the nearest Americas best which led me to remember to post this review. The prescription is so strong. It is so strong that I have to take my glasses off if something is close. Or to use my cellphone. This was kind of ok because I normally wear contacts. But now that Im starting online school Im going to need glasses. I wont be able to use these because like I said the prescription is so strong. That I wouldnt be able to see the computer with them on. When I went to pay for my glasses the lady tried to oversell me on glare protection and some other things that made the price a whopping $300. I told her shucks if I was going to pay that amount I could have went some place where they would be done in a hour. So she told me the low price was only for a wall of glasses. That were literally like bright orange plastic frames. But since I was there and would have had to pay for the exam anyway I said I would just pick from that wall. I guess that messed with her commission so she suddenly was able to take somethings off and make the price more commiserate with the advertised price.. I would say dont go here. That virtual eye exam isnt accurate at all. Ive been wearing glasses since I was 12 and this is the first time I have ever gotten a eye exam where it was so off. Its kind of a shame that I have to buy all new glasses when I just paid for some. But I just wanted to save someone else the hassle

Placed an appointment online for today. Wasnt until we get here that they are only doing telehealth eye exams in the store and we would have to get my daughters eye exam Monday when the doctor is in...So much for glasses in about an hourThey need to clarify what services are provided on which days on their website before waisting time coming here
So far im very satisfied with the customer service at Stanton Optical. It hasnt been long enough for my glasses to come in yet. I hope im very satisfied then also.
Its a shame that I have to give them even 1 star, they dont deserve that. Had my eye exam, ordered new glasses and frames, these were supposed to be ready for pick up on October 28, 2020. They still are not ready even though they have their own lab. Now they have given me a new date of November 18, 2020 as their earliest date.
Their website is EXTREMELY deceiving on prices for glasses and eye exam. I am also disappointed in my computer interaction for my exam. When I pick up my glasses, I will insist to take a vision test to ensure they are the correct prescription. I also asked for a copy of my prescription, was told I could not get it on day of exam but could pick it up when glasses are ready. I will call in advance to make sure my prescription is ready when my glasses are ready.

Had an appointment at 12:40. I was signed in quickly and went through the preliminary exams quickly. Then I sat and waited and I waited and I waited. The lady finally told me that she was waiting on refractions (whatever they are) and that it could be thirty minutes or longer before the examination. Total waste of my time.
Buyer beware!!! it took over 3 weeks to receive my full order and when I was told my order was ready I drove 25 miles and to store only to find out only one of two pairs were ready and the other needed to be shipped. I cannot use either pair of glasses due to an incorrect prescription likely due to a virtual off site exam. Ive made multiple contacts to No Customer Service and get told every time that they are short staffed and someone will contact me in 48 hours which never occurs. It is impossible to call the actual store so I have to drive there again with no appointment to sit for hours again during COVID just to try and get a resolution.

Walked in & wasn’t greeted or told that someone would be with me shortly. After about 5 minutes, someone very quietly acknowledged me & I had to wait for her to look up to be sure she was talking to me. She started asking personal info including my address from across the store in front of 3 other people. It took almost 10 minutes to get my insurance information looked up & my name was pronounced incorrectly without giving me the opportunity to tell her how to correctly pronounce it. I didn’t feel welcome in their store. I work for a doctors’ office so I know this isn’t proper patient care. Overall, everyone was rude & it was a terrible experience. I won’t be back.
My experience with Stanton Optical has been the worst! I went in for an exam in May. It was a teledoc appointment, by me not seeing an actual doctor my prescription was way off. I called customer service for weeks waiting on a call back. Eventually (4 weeks later) I was told to come back in for a follow up appointment. I arrive for the follow up and the woman at the location just gave me a new pair of trial contacts with a New prescription. I was scheduled for a third appointment to see an actual doctor. I missed that appointment and have not been able to speak with anyone but customer service help desk. They have been escalating my issue to the store manager and escalation department since May and I have not received one call back. It’s been almost three months and I have not received a prescription and haven’t been able to order contacts.
Tonya was awesome - last second appointment very very appreciative that they took the time to see me when my normal ten year company let me down. Split payments, reasonable prices and friendly staff.
All of the staff at the airport location in Mobile Alabama were wonderful to me. The optometrist Don, was personable and very professional, and Erica and Tanya delivered unsurpassed customer service. They explained the details of the pricing, and the processing of the order in detail. There were no surprises, and although there was a glitch, they worked quickly to resolve the issue not only to my satisfaction but to my surprise! I not only highly recommend them to all of you who are out there reading this, but I have recommended them to all in my inner circle. 0 stars! Dont press your luck with this company. I have waited 47 days to get my FIRST pair done correctly. Still dont have my second pair. First time through the prescription was done wrong. I could overlook a mistake but even with a remake of glasses, I was promised 7 -10 days for glasses, thatd be 20 days give or take for the first / remake, how is 47 days even remotely close. Customer Service is also a joke, Ive called numerous times and was supposed to have a manager call me back. Never happened. Here we are at July 29th and I FINALLY have my second pair. Seems there are several reviews like mine.

I did the free eye exam with two pairs of glasses, but when I got there and saw that there wasnt much to choose from I chose two pairs of the same glasses. They ordered them for me but when I finally got them like a week and a half later which was actually a lot faster than I thought they would come. I tried my glasses on and I saw that those particular glasses just werent for me. I would personally like to thank Michelle who works there because she helped me in every way she could. She always had a nice attitude about everything and she took me over to the glasses and helped me find a pair that were my style and fit me better and traded one of my pairs since they were the same. Mrs. Michelle you are the best and thats why I come to Stanton Optical.
I ordered my glasses a month ago at the optician, they gave me a delivery date and when I went to bring them they did not find them, then they told me that they are back in the laboratory and very rude. The person at the counter told me that he could not tell me when they were delivered, I wrote to the FB page and now they do not answer me, I hope you have an answer for me and give me my lenses, which by the way are already paid, my name is Ana Rodríguez and I am waiting for an answer, thank you
Got an appointment schedule same day I called. Thought great! Then when we get there was told could not see my son because he was not eight yet. Was not even asked about his age when we called. After a few minutes said they could see him but I had to lie about his age (he will be 8 in May). Reason is because they do not have a eye doctor in the building. It is all done via web cam and remote machinery. Ok I think. High tech. It’s been almost two weeks since his exam. I’m still waiting for a call saying that his glasses are in. I call and get an answering service and and put on hold. I have currently been on hold for 45 minutes to see if my sons glasses are in. I do not recommend Stanton Optical. Very poor customer service.
Just call the Mobile location... had to call back... they dropped my call. They would not verify that they had a certain frame in stock... they said I would have to come in. I asked for manager... they would not let me speak to manager. Bad customer service before I was even a customer.
We had A wonderful experience At Stanton Optical. The staff was All very Friendly and Helpful. Michelle helped my daughter put her contacts in for the first time. And My Daughter did it fine from then on. She Did great! I would highly recommend This Place.

Dont, Dont Dont go there expecting your glasses in the promised time. I went on June 1st and here it is July 15th and I dont have either pair yet.The first pair came back in about 20 days instead of 10 as promised and the prescription was wrong (had another appt to check and the dr had put in the wrong numbers). So this means the 2nd pair that was on the way would also be wrong. Store promised to send them back to lab also but after trying for a week to contact the store myself and through customer service, I finally got them and they had NOT sent them. The first pair was broken by the lab on the remake so here we are 46 days later without either pair. Id give 0 stars if I could. Also left several calls with customer service to have manager call but they never did .
I havent got my glasses yet but my experience so far was great. Very professional staff and very courteous. Johnathon and Michelle were awesome! The Doctor was very thorough. I feel confident in my decision to come here. I will write more when I get my glasses.
My husband and I bought glasses here & we were VERY satisfied. Both of us even had a pair each that we were not completely happy with & they reordered both of us a new pair each at NO charge... Johnathan Dennis was the person that waited on us & he was VERY patient with us & took the time to explain everything to us, but EVERYONE that works there has ALWAYS been VERY nice & helpful to us... I just wanted to say I watched the video about Stanton Optical not doing their job correctly and 2 getting shut down I think in Florida but I must tell you the experience at the Mobile Alabama location on Airport is nothing like what the people in the video said they experienced. I got contacts and I am telling you the glasses I had before I went to Stanton Optical gave me migraines daily from being too strong. Dr. Reed was very thorough and ensured that I had 20/20 vision, even at my follow up he was very thorough and ensured that my eyes werent irritated.
Absolutely fantastic service! They have a great selection. Mr. Dennis was extremely helpful, professional and knowledgeable. With my new prescription eyewear, I can see better now than I EVER have! I highly recommend Stanton Optical!

Upon completing my contact lens exam, I was informed that I would have to pay for services. I was not told upfront that I would be billed . I naturally assumed that since they advertised free eye exams there would be no fee.After contacting customer service, I received a courtesy call the next day from the office manager. She and I came to a good compromise . She was very helpful and stated that she would inform the staff of this issue. Very nice people to work with. Thanks !

The customer service was horrible. Not in Mobile site, but where they send the glasses to be prepared. I bought the glasses on May 28th and was told they will be ready by June 11. I looked on their website and it said they were working on my order. So because of Covid I decided to wait until the following week. Still no glasses and same thing on website, so I call them and the said it would be the 19th, then they changed it to the 22nd then the 23 and now the 26th. I still don’t have my glasses and a manager never called me back. Furious

I have been waiting 2 weeks for my contacts and when I called to inquire about when they would be ready for pickup, I was told that it would be another week by someone named CJ, who very rude and told me I just had to be patient!! I had scheduled an eye exam at a local competitor on Saturday July 14th in Mobile Alabama (40 miles from where I live). I work during the week and Saturdays are the only day that I have for Dr appointments, so Mobile was the closest location with an office that offers Saturday appointments. When I got to the office I checked in and they took me right back for my exam. At this time they notified me that the Dr on duty only accepts cash. I did not have enough cash on hand, so they told me that I could use the ATM in the store to get out money. Needless to say I promptly left since they did not think that it was important to make me aware of this prior to me driving an hour from home for an exam. I did a quick search and found Stanton Optical just 5 miles from where I was. I called them and they told me that they could get me right in for an exam. All of the staff were very courteous and very helpful. Dr Nguyen did a complete exam and was very informative about the problems he noted on my eye exam and the recommendations for contact lenses and proper lens care. The Sales Manager, Johnathan Dennis was extremely helpful and spent time helping me pick out new eyeglasses and sunglasses. He helped me to figure out the best option to fit my needs and helped me get the most for my money with the current promotions they had to offer. He was very polite and explained the rebate information and warranty information very completely. I felt like I was the only person that they had to care for at that time, and the customer service left me feeling very important and completely satisfied. I will be making the extra trip to this great establishment from now on for all of my eye care needs. It seems to be so rare to find someone that will actually listen to your needs and meet them while exceeding the highest expectations.

So I decided to try somewhere different frustrated from the store manager that rudely and disrespectful took another consultation in the middle of mine long story short I gave these guys a shot a( STANTON OPTICAL) to my surprise I was greeted by this store manager! Absolutely awesome. Dr. Curtis does a complete and thorough job. He even has you come back 2 weeks after your initial contact appointment to assure theyre up to your and his standards; and being in the health-care field myself that is really important. A great staff also. I will definitely be back to them for future glass and contact appointments.
My experience was very modern, totally unlike any eye exam that Ive ever had. The employees were very nice and professional. They help me choose frames that fit my face shape, there were multiple to choose from. The exam was free. There was a promo of two pair forn$59. I didnt do that deal. I chose to do the buy one frame, get one free. My frame was less than $130, and the second one was free. You have to understand that the free eye exam checks for all ailments. IT IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU whether or not you decide to add them to your prescription purchase. I needed bifocals. I also selected no line. I could have gotten those glasses as single vision with no readers. I didnt have to ask, I was advised upfront. I chose it all and people have to understand that a simple visit can go from under $200 to almost $400 because of your prescription requirements. My glasses were ready in two weeks and the staff even adjusted the arms on one pair to fit behind my ears well! The experience was great! Id definitely go back.

Horrible. DO NOT GO TO THEM. I chose to pay for my eye exam and get glasses somewhere else. I have proff I paid for the eye exam, there own receipt. The refuse to release my prescription to me. Over 24 hours later still do not have the RX
We love Stanton Optical theyre friendly, fast, and affordable. My son loves going to his eye appointments now, before he hated it. We went last month and did an eye exam and bought 2 pairs of glasses for just $75. We cant imagine going anywhere else.
I was at the store on airport Blvd. I had the worst experience with a worker. I came into the store for my husbands glasses. Another consumer came 15min after me I was totally disregard. The worker took care of every one white first before asking me what I needed and I was first. To make matters worst this worker was a black male.this will be my last time getting glass from them.
I had a great experience here. The staff was friendly as well as the doctor. The staff acknowledged and assisted me immediately upon entering the store! Wow, now thats awesome customer service. The doctor was great, he was very nice and down to earth! He didnt make me struggle to see the words or force me into pupil dilation as other doctors have done to me in the past. The exam was quick and efficient. I can see very well now, perfect actually ! I would highly recommend Stanton Optical based upon my service today.

Great experience...doctor was very good and so was the nurse. They worked with us on frames and prices so we could afford the replacement of my daughters glasses (that the dog ate...so we were not planning on this expense) We were told the glasses would take 2 weeks so of course I was upset...but the first set was ready in less than a week!! Thank You!!
Erica was super helpful when I was freaking out over having lost a screw in a pair of glasses. She replaced the screw at no charge, tightened up the rest of the screws and, by her actions, made it very clear I should be using Stanton instead of any other optical store!!!
The frames are cheaply made. My husband has had to replace his seven times with three different styles. They break way to easy. Will not ever go back. EVER!
The doctor and staff were very friendly and helpful. I find their service and attentiveness far better than what I received at Americas Best Optical. Im very glad I found Stanton Optical.

Terrible service! I loved the digital eye exam. Doctor was very thorough and seemed knowledgeable, but as far as glasses are concerned? Id go elsewhere! No one helped fit my daughter for her glasses, they expected me to make sure they were right. I was very disappointed. Took almost a month and a 4 hour back and forth conversation with corporate office for her glasses to be ready and then again, no one made sure they were adjusted properly, just asked her if she liked them. Prices were not as advertised either.
My mother and I went to the store thinking that we were taking advantage of the 2 pair for $79. They led my mother on thinking that that is what she was going to pay for each of us. After we got the eye exams our total bill for two exams and four pair of glasses was $610. Then they tried to talk my mom into buying them even though we did not have to. Then after my mom wanted a refund, they refused to give her one and then she tried to give her a discount, which means the glasses were still a total of $450. Which is nowhere near the estimated price. I was deeply disturbed by the way they forced her into to something she wasnt sure of purchasing. If I had a chance I would have not even made an appointment. Im sad to say that someone recommended them to me. Worse decision ever. My mom has a total of three children there is no way she can afford paying $600 every time we come to the doctor. My brothers will be going somewhere else. Id rather go blind than pay those prices.
The group of individuals that work here are very polite and professional. I decided to get contacts after wearing glasses for years, and they set me up perfectly and showed me how to properly do everything. Very friendly, very professional, I definitely recommend this group if you are looking for a new optometrist!
This is, by far, my best experience. Ive been wearing glasses for 20+ years. The folks here just went above and beyond for me. They helped me pick 2 beautiful frames and made sure I got the best possible deal. Ill be going back for more glass and my eye exams.
That was the worst eye exam I’ve had in my life. Dr Nguyen is a jerk. I have a 30% hearing loss and he ignored me asking him to repeat himself. Then told me “You’re not special. Everyone thinks they’re special, but you’re not”. What a jerk! I will NEVER go back there. He wouldn’t even listen to me, so I’m positive the prescription isn’t even correct. This was is Mobile, Alabama off Airport Blvd.
Great group of people here! They all went over and above especially the doctor the comedian lol! Dr. Reed was great, and gave me some much needed information that I never receive for other doctors! Thanks! I will be doing service with Stanton Optical again and you should too! 😉
Worst customer service ever. It took 20 minutes to even be seen and taken care of. Choice of frames were not great so I’m taking my prescription elsewhere.
Loved the eye exam and frame selection. Was disappointed with the price. Just 30$ more than I expected
This place doesnt even deserve 1 star. First pair of trial contacts took 3 weeks to arrive. I could see about as good without any contacts in as I could wearing the first pair. And the old dude said it was my fault the prescription wasnt right. 3 weeks ago today a second trial pair was ordered, which either havent arrived, or they got lost in the store like the first pair did. I unfortunately didnt read any of the reviews, but wish I had now. Do not waste your time.
Had appt. Saturday October 13th. Brittney was very helpful and helped me pick out some beautiful glasses. She also was very professional. There was a young man there who was also very professional and made me feel very welcome. More places of business should have such nice courteous people. Brittney and young man whom I did not get his name are two very great workers. Bless them both! I don’t know who was working the day the disgruntled customer who wrote the bad review was, but it definitely was not Brittney or the young man on duty the day I made my visit!
My mother and I were getting new glasses and Amanda and Jean were so very helpful and sooooo patient with us. They went above and beyond to find the perfect glasses for us.
