Great shopping with beautiful produce, an awesome selection of meat alternatives, and amazing friendly down to earth employees who some are Wu-Tang fans! This place is welcoming which I look for in spending not just my money but my time as well. I really recommend this place to anyone wanting to shop at a co-op but hasnt pulled the trigger yet.
Great co op and the hot bar food was incredible. Will definitely be back.
I absolutely love this co-op! With the dispense your one nuts/dried fruits/coffee and even seasonings! They also have brands that’s I specifically could not find anywhere else and the little health and beauty in the center of the store has the kindest woman working at it. 10/10
The deli/soup/salad bar is very well done! Im impressed how home made items like the jalapeño chedder grits and chicken enchiladas taste. Everything is fresh and clean. Load up as much as you want and pay by the pound. Very easy and efficient. Perfect if youre on the go and you dont want fast food. Cheers!
Great place for all your organic and promote many local farmers. Wonderful community and fantastic grocery store. Im going to be honesty the price is not affordable, and not reasonably priced for anyone. Its kind of annoying when theyre asking if can round up from what the actually price is. Am I Italian -American and I cant find any international food aisles or an ethnic foods.
Over priced.Mostly though there bagel went moldy after two days. The bagels werent better than Cub foods bagels which stay fresh longer.
What more can I say except they have wonderful cuisine, great people, great prices, and great portions? I give them 5 stars without reservation.
Its an awesome place to shop. Everything is so fresh. I bought a lifetime membership today. I was a member way back in the day when my son was little. At that time it was monthly and yearly memberships and pay ment was to donate x amount of hours per child
Nice place, super friendly staff. Alway feel welcomed. Wonderful products.
They are a tad on the pricey side, but they frequently have good specials, and the store is always clean and well maintained. The staff is quite pleasant.
Great meal and a nice crew that knows how to serve even when the restaurant is packed! This is a venue that I highly suggest!
All check out staff are super pleasant. Coffee is incredible, so many unique touches and options at the co-op. Highly recommend for first time co-op visitors especially.
They have very friendly staff, and a great selection of fresh ingredients. You are going to spend about double what you would pay at target, etc. for a lot of groceries so I only shop here for a few things. You have to bring your own bag or pay 5 cents for a paper bag and bag your own groceries. Its very much DIY. I like the concept of a co op but I price shop and can get fresh produce that supports local farmers other places and better quality for way cheaper. However, we love getting our fresh coffee beans from here and I picked up a whole rotisserie chicken for only $9.99! You cant beat that price. I buy two organic frozen chicken breasts and it usually runs about $7.99-9.99. Their hot/cold bar is pretty small but its nice to be able to pick something up quick.
Always have a wide selection of foods on hand. The prices are unbelievable! Its time to clean up and organize the place.
I went into the store because it was nearly empty (lucky timing!). I got immediate assistance finding the lip balm from an employee who was masked and staying socially distant. The store was well stocked, even though it was only two hours until close. Plenty of cashiers meant I didnt wait in line at all. In essence, a perfect grocery run.
Very attractive store, well laid out, overwhelmingly organic foods. Result is somewhat higher prices, but they provide benefits and a living wage to the workers.
Horrible workers that are rude mean to there security guards who protecting there customers
Got everything I needed, everyone was masked and polite. GREAT produce, always.
Until today It would have been 5 stars. I have pulmonary fibrosis and use portable oxygen when I go out. Wearing a mask causes my oxygen to malfunction so I have to periodically pull down the mask to restore my breathing. Todays heat made it worse. Other store employees were kind, offered me water and a place to sit in the store while waiting for my ride. The cashier in customer service by the front door yelled at me to pull up my mask though it was just below my nose. I said I would but I needed a few minutes. She said pull it up. Its the law. This in spite of my obvious distress. She kept yelling until I said to her the law says if I have a medical condition I dont need to wear one.....was my medical condition not obvious to her?
Great food. Excellent variety.
Ive only been to this store a couple of times but I really like the layout plus they have a few items the Wedge doesnt carry. Will be stopping by again when Im in that part of town!
My go to spot for fresh veggies and pre-made lunch items. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
This is my go to community store. They have great in season vegetables and everything is very high quality. Its a small store so they dont have depth but they have amazing quality. Folks who work here are extremely helpful.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff was polite and diverse!
They consistently provide A+ customer service
Food is excellent clean and all natural
Its great to have a classic whole foods co-op located right in the neighborhood. The all-organic produce is pricy, but the dairy is competitive and the bulk section is a bargain: rye flour, for example, at less than half what it costs at my regular grocery store.
Clean store, healthier food,a real addition to a working class neighborhood.
Nice to have a market in this food desert. Unfortunately like other coops, too fancy and over priced.
Great co-op that is one of the safest places I know to visit during the pandemic. Slightly longer shopping experience but still the same great people & service!
Go to Lakewinds in you can. They treat this place like Fort Knox. Try to avoid it. If you even look in the wrong direction, someone will say something. They stand at the door like military. I’ve been to a millions stores since the start of the pandemic and not 1 of them behaves this way. It’s creepy. Last resort place only.
Great friendly staff, they all make me feel that this is a Safe space for all humans!
I have been a loyal member for several years and visit several times per week. I was informed on my last visit the front end staff was freaking out because I only had a face shield covering my face. This is upsetting due to the fact I have a medical condition. I have complied with the bogus, long overdue mask wearing due to others freaking out. Businesses are suppose to be compliant with medical restrictions. As a Naturopathic doctor the masks people are wearing DO NOT stop the tiny droplets of this virus. I understand the Governor has mandated the mask wearing..mandate is not law.I have been shopping primarily at the Lakewinds store..they are very cool about medical conditions.I Intend soon people will realize the virus has a 99.7% survival rate and the real danger lies in wearing a mask for hours at a time in healthy and unhealthy people.
Seward community co-op is a wonderful grocery store.they have a wonderful organic fruit and vegetable section that includes your basic veggies and fruits and then some amazing exotics. And if youre looking for meatless meat products they carry the best.Im so lucky to live just a few blocks away and they also have a co-op membership program where you own part of the coop and get really good discounts on the food. And as we all know organic can be a little expensive.
Competitive prices and great product selection. However would like vegan cheese option. Couldnt find it in the store. Might be hideing
The much anticipated co-op in my hood! I love this place so much I became a member and feel so grown up n cool. I can always find my homeopathic ingredients for self care. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. I always get a smile n hello walking in the doors. The deli menu is available on-line to plan your flavor craves. The kinda place that makes you want to linger and visit.
Super friendly, helpful, competent staff. Great selection in groceries as well as grab-and-go prepared foods.
Good stuff, but some items a bit pricy
High quality foods in all departments. Knowledgeable staff in the vitamins and body care section. Their Covid19 safety protocols make me feel really safe shopping in this store. All of the staff are friendly.
Great for the community with the good food we need
Super clean! Great curbside service! Awesome employees!
Great selection and employees are knowledgeable with their product selection.
I’ve been a member for two years and feel very much at home here. I love their hot bar and premade items. Bulk selection and produce are excellent, especially for people who genuinely love to cook. My sister visited from New York. She’s a very picky vegan who loves to cook a variety of foods. She was very impressed with the spice and produce selection, quality, and price. Sure the prices of some items (like frozens) are more expensive, but I just chose to buy those items elsewhere or wait until they go on sale. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a genuinely great store.Additionally this was one of the few stores I felt comfortable shopping in during the pandemic. They took that stuff seriously and it was a relief.
Healthy products. Friendly clean
They have a great selection of products at various prices and levels of localness. Its also a good place for a quick deli lunch.
Expensive but yummy. I spend my whole paycheck here some weeks. Helpful staff.
Great place for organic and fresh produce.
I really appreciated the mask mandate and limiting the amount of customers in the store at a time. Thank you for a safe shopping experience!
Clean, organized and nice staff. Leilani was awesome!
Bit of an oasis in this food desert. Dont know where wed shop otherwise!
My main grocery store, they’re fantastic and their efforts toward inclusivity are wonderful. They take COVID very seriously and still manage to run an amazing and efficient grocery store.
Staff is very nice and friendly. Prices are very reasonable for a food Co-op in a city. They do have markdown items (great deals in bulk section). The atmosphere is very inviting, mellow, and well set up. Highly recommend.
We love our neighborhood co-op! Since the pandemic, Seward Friendship has managed to create a safer shopping experience than other businesses we frequent.
Another great Minneapolis co-op. Pleasure to be an owner.
Good selection and great specials. Always friendly and courteous staff. Great store.
Everything is wonderful!
Ive seen no other grocery store in the Twin Cities right now that is doing as much as Seward to protect employees and customers. Thank you so much!
Ive shopped the Seward loc about a thousand times. So glad for South Mpls that this great grocery has moved in.There seems to be the semblance of diversity in the floor staff (dunno about upstairs), which is great-- but when i visited for my first time recently at 7 on a Tuesday night i didnt see a single shopper of color among the twenty or so customers. If thats happening in a place like South then that means the business has to work harder and do better somehow.. Im not sure how, but they dont pay me for deep thoughts, they pay the administrators.Great co-op. Its basically the Wedge, only better (and somehow more local)
This Seward Co-op is my absolute favorite! Besides fresh, organic produce, there are several sale bins around the store where you can find discounted treasures. The prepared foods are delicious and made with exotic spice mixtures that appeal especially to the culturally diverse community in which it is located. I can find cow tongue, fish heads and bones loaded with delectable salmon, and other tasty offerings not as easily found in other stores. They utilize the whole animal-no waste! The large squares of cake with brown butter frosting will make you swoon! Check it out!
Im concerned that they still are selling bulk items during the pandemic. you still have to handle the spoons and dip up your own. Not good!!!
I love shopping here. They have such interested products and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I even have a few favorite cashiers because they often make my day because of how nice, friendly, or quirky they are. I used to hate going grocery shopping but I am always happy to come to Seward.
Nice store with plenty of selections for produce and other grocery items. Great deli counter. The sell the Wedges fresh bread as well. Lots of treats in the cooler on the way out. I would give them 5 stars, but a lot of items are a lot more expensive than other stores. I guess they have to pay the mortgage for the 2 new stores, but it is still worth dropping by.Very friendly staff as well.
Friendly staff, organized and upbeat!
Great place
Great service...friendly atmosphere
Love this co-op! Friendly faces. Good selection. Plus they give you an option to round up to the nearest dollar and donate to a different non- profit each month! 🌱
I found the staff to be go-out-of-their-way helpful when I had questions, suggestions, or couldn’t find an item. Great place and wonderful location. They have “round-up” programs where you can round up your change and they give that money to a different local charity each month. One cashier told me it’s not chump change either, usually in the 20k range. Very cool.
Excellent secondary location for Seward co-op. Well-renovated for a grocery, with all the amenities of a high-end cooperative. Excellent deli and bulk section as well. Only improvement would be to the layout, allowing for easier finding of central ingredients, i.e., ghee.
Downright the most pleasant experience I have had with a grocery store. Probably the nicest staff, too. They have anything cooking related you might need, even a cafe. 10/10 would recommend everyone shop here.
LOVE this place. Their meat bundles are awesome, and I love being able to buy some of my favorite things in bulk (and receive a member discount from doing so). Great healthy/organic options, and great to see the assortment of local products. Some items can be a tad overpriced, but Im grateful for being able to make this my one-stop grocery store (so sometimes I pay the premium for convenience).
This is a marvelous Co-op! I just came in for a couple of mushrooms, but ended up finding several items my co-op no longer carries. You can bet Ill be back.😉
This place is generally an awesome experience, but I have one complaint/request I have to make of the management and its this- yall need to implement a single feeder line like at a bank that feeds into multiple open registers/register workers. As it is, theres no self-checkout line, theres not a consistent express lane, and the lines all seem to move at completely arbitrary speeds. I know this is a childish thing to feel frustrated about, but its a nightmare picking the ONE INCREDIBLY SLOW LINE and seeing 3-4 people who started behind me check out before me when I usually only buy a handful of items at once. Again, amazing selection and kind staff, but this one logistical frustration in actually shopping there.
Very friendly, clean, and inviting atmosphere. Staff is attentive and friendly. They have great coffee and a nice area to sit and read, converse, or do some work. Good variety of products as well.
Very disgusted.
Community centeredness abounds here.
Eh its nice enough but it doesnt have the same warmth and vibrancy as the Franklin Ave location. (It is also literally very cold physically.) Im also somewhat irked that they dont carry all the same items, especially in the bulk section, and that many items can only be purchased in pre-bagged quantities. Like, say I only want 5 figs for dessert after the meal I just ate there. Nope cant do that. Have to buy a bag of them and spend like 3-4 times as much as I wanted to. Sure, Ill have a supply of figs for the future, but thats not the point. The issues certainly have nothing to do with space concerns, as the place is huge and wide open. In fact, someone with agoraphobia might have a problem going there. A lower ceiling would have helped with that.Anyway, its not *bad* and I dont mean to be a complainer, its just that it isnt *great* like Franklin Ave is.
Great vibe! Everyone is friendly and helpful despite the winter blues. Keep up the passion for healthy living!
Love going here. They have a friendly and fresh atmosphere. I can always find what I need.
I very much enjoy going here . The staff is friendly and helpful. I am fortunate to have this establishment within walking distance to where I live.
Favorite CoOp, maybe my favorite place in all of Minnesota, i love the staff, (james at the front desk, Kya at the Juice bar, Tim in the Deli, Arron & Big Sal in Wellness)Enjoy & God bless.✊🏾👑🖤🌻🙏🏾☀️
Great store, and the people are always happy hre
Excellent natural foods coop! Super friendly staff. Great food selection. Not too big or crowded. Excellent hot food buffet. I love the food and eat there a couple times a week.
One of the few business in Minneapolis thats actually taking COVID precautions seriously.
I love the place but it always seems to go at the speed of Walgreens. Nothing happens fast, particularly the checkout situation.
Really good produce and an amazing selection of spices, coffees, nuts, and grains. Their meat section and good and you can pick up duck fat when they have some. The down side is they dont have a lot of staple items and sometimes you dont need organic locally sourced flour for $10 when a pack of Gold Medal would have worked.
I love the unique selection of groceries and goods here. They have a good amount of vegan options, but everywhere can always add more. The Luv Ice Cream is amazing.
I love my co-op, but the produce here has really not been up to par lately. Lots of older produce on the shelves, fruit flies circling. Some basic items have been hard to find recently as well. But overall I love the nice people here and the meat counter is a good place to get quality items.
Great selection. Love their in store coffee shop. It is one of the only places I could find coconut milk as a dairy substitute for a latte, etc. The also have a great work or meeting space behind the registers.
Extremely helpful staff. Excellent selection. Amazing sales. Become a member and look for deals. Its no more pricey than other co-ops. I love this new location.
As soon as this grocery store opened, my family started coming here consistently. The customer service is amazing and the options for produce and packaged products is wide.
Love this coop. Little pricey but thats how it goes for quality organic food
This is a great co-op. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good variety of options despite being a smaller location. The parking lot is easy to navigate.
I love going down to the co-op and looking through the produce and meat sections, feeling inspired, and bringing home dinner. The produce is fresh. The meat counter is extensive (usually have fresh goat and lamb). I love the cheese selection and international foods.
As far as coops...it is great. Good variety, friendly, good deli lunch.
I like this convenient natural foods cooperative. Good variety of organic fruits and vegetables, good variety of hot table/ready to go foods. Clean and bright, and seems to employ more people of color than other food co-ops in town.
Nice story, pricey but what co op isnt, very clean. All in all great place to grab a deli lunch.
One of the few stores where produce changes with the season due to local sourcing. Always delicious house made sausages and organic meats. This is one of my favorite places to get fresh delicious food.
