This was a great experience! Andy called me back on Monday morning (after I left message on Saturday) which never happens! Helped me figure out my problem in no time and my screws will arrive tomorrow (next day). We need self tapping screws for metal (steel). Couldn’t use wood screws that came with composite lumber. Thanks to his quick response and help we can finish our deck/ramp my husband and son built out of steel and set with their Crane! Thanks to Andy and DecksDirect. Will send pics when completed.

Be careful when ordering from this company. For some reason if you change your mind about something you have to pay return shipping. I purchased a gate for my deck and decided that I would leave that entrance open. Gate cost $150, my return shipping cost $75. Reach out to the company to see if they would pay for my return shipping and they refused to do so. Never again!!
My husband and I hired a contractor to build a deck for us. Problems began to surface after signing the contract. Our railing has yet to be ordered after four months of waiting, so I took matters into my own hands. After evaluating highly rated decking companies I contacted Decks Direct. Nancy, a sales representative, has worked with me during the past week with the purchase of a new railing system for our deck. It was a pleasure to work with Nancy,, for she responded quickly to my Ccalls and understood the time crunch we were under. Before placing the order Nancy went over EVERY detail of the order with me so that the railing installation would go smoothly. AND ... the railing will be delivered within two weeks - perfect timing for the new contractor!!! Cant wait for the product to arrive and for this project to be completed.

Replaced four 120 V deck post lights with Triton LED Post Caps Lights by Aurora purchased from DecksDirect. Called DecksDirect to verify cap size and was amazed to have a wonderful young lady answer the phone and not a computer. Ordered the lights online and received them in a few days with free shipping. What really sold me on DecksDirect was their response to a rare led-bulb solder failure a few weeks after installing. I called them with the problem on a Sunday, and again a pleasant young lady answered the phone and within a few minutes she placed a free-of-charge order for a replacement bulb, which I received a few days later. Ill be ordering deck-post skirting and caps very shortly. All my deck needs will go to them in the future. Now I sit back at night on the deck with the warm ambiance of my new lights and listen to the gentle wave action of Lake Ontario.

I called customer service just before hitting the order button, just to be sure someone would actually answer the phone. I got Andy Goodell on the phone and he actually knew the sku numbers for each part in the cable railing system I was ordering by heart. Very impressed. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Its hard to find customer service this good anywhere these days. I only just ordered the parts today, so can only comment on customer service at this time.

First there was a snafu when the PayPal payment got refunded and they couldnt bother to tell me the order got canceled. So I called them and placed the order. They were helpful on the phone, placed the order and sent me a confirmation. Items arrived as described. No problems there.However the delivery was so awful and that combined with lack of communication regarding order cancellation, I can only give them 3 stars. They need to fix it not respond with a sorry....A sorry is useless if changes arent going to be implemented.My delivery was set for Friday. No one showed up and no one called on Friday. They showed up Monday morning when I had no one to help unload. The driver unwrapped the items and left them on the sidewalk in the rain (while we had a tropical storm).Read the other reviews. It appears there are repeated issues with their freight delivery that DecksDirect has not addressed. Youre better off ordering from elsewhere if you dont want to deal with their horrible shipping issues.Needless to say I will not be ordering from them again.Re Owners response: Thank you for taking the time to respond, it is appreciated. As I mentioned, apologizing does not fix the problem from happening again. The solution I was/am looking for is We called the delivery company and spoke to them and they are going to do X to ensure this doesnt happen again

Wow. In the world of e-commerce these days, most places make you feel like just another “order” that fits into another spreadsheet. We have had a difficult time sourcing all parts to a deck project locally in Ohio, and I have placed many orders with decks direct to obtain materials we couldnt find locally. They arrived in great condition and quickly, but better yet, when you are a non-professional like me, you don’t always know what you are doing. I ordered incorrect pieces, called - Greg was able to see what i had ordered incorrectly and immediately understood the project and helped me to exchange for the correct parts. You call and a real human with knowledge and understanding ANSWERS THE PHONE…rarity to say the least. Additionally, I had a bit of a pickle with return shipping on the incorrect items and when I called and talked to Gary, he went above and beyond to help me out with finding a solution to my problem. I have already told at least 4 friends that this is one of the best customer service experiencesI have had EVERY TIME I CALL in as long as I can remember. Order from here, without question

Great customer service. I am a homeowner repainting my railings without the help of a contractor, so I needed expert advice on cable railings. Andy took care of my questions, took time to explain my options, and got my supplies ordered.

DecksDirect, as far as we could tell, had the only solar railing cap lights in 4 1/2 that would fit our new Trex railings. But what an extremely pleasant surprise in dealing with Andy over the phone in ordering them ! Andy is the consummate professional, although I have the feeling that the rest of the staff would be equally courteous and professional. But in addition to that pleasant experience, we received the lights, 11 the first time back in the spring when we replaced our deck with Trex, and just ordered nine more for the railings going on our two stoops next week, in just either 2 or 3 business days. This is in spite of the shipping delays that so many are experiencing due mainly to the pandemic. Meanwhile, the solar cap lights, Cape May design in white, are going on at dark and are staying lit well past 3AM, and one night noticed them still lit at 4AM. Also had email contact with Andy over the last couple of months as we are undecided as to whether to remove the batteries since the lights might not fully recharge during a NY winter. Andy quickly got back with the pros and cons.

We are re-doing our deck ourselves and have been having a hard time finding stair railing connectors that will fit our railings. I spoke to Gary and he couldnt have been more helpful and the product should be mailed out today or tomorrow so we can keep moving along. Even though hes a Viking fan ;) he was very friendly and I would definitely do business with them again.

I found DecksDirect online after doing research of what type of Decking and Railing I wanted to install on my house. I spoke to Andy at DecksDirect on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and told him I’d like pricing on the items I needed and sent him a drawing with the correct dimensions of the deck. I explained I needed the railing first, then I would be doing the deck. ( my project was located on a second floor, and it was important to get railing done first.) On that Tuesday, he explained he would be off on Wednesday and Thursday for Thanksgiving and asked if would Friday be O.K. to get me pricing. I agreed that would be fine. I got no estimate or phone call on that Friday, or the following Monday. I called him on Tuesday afternoon and asked about my estimate. He explained he had been busy with Black Friday, but would get it done. I received it a little later on Tuesday, but was not what I had written on my request that he had to work by. I spoke to him by phone and he explained it had slipped by and he would work on it. I received it Tuesday after lunch. He then explained I had missed the substantial Black Friday Sale Discount that ended Monday. He offered a much smaller discount, but said it was against company policy to put it on the estimate. I asked him to add the quantities of each item to the estimate. Again, he explained it was against company policy to list quantities. He wanted me to pay the $6,000.00 without any quantities listed on the order, and no discount listed. He explained on the phone then that he would only be there about 30 more minutes. This was early afternoon on Wednesday. The entire process was a red flag for getting taken on $6,000.00. There would have been nothing I could have done, since all that was listed was one of each item, and I needed many many more. Any court in the nation would have agreed with them because they sent me one, which is what was listed. I passed on their offer and would caution everyone to be very careful about doing business with them.

I really wanted to like this place. Their website Completely fast, get your order quick I ordered decking on August 4. The pricing was right except for the shipping but did it anyway because they had it all in stock . They prepped everything and shipped it out a few days later. Good. Once it leaves their warehouse you are on your own for follow up. I was told multiple times to have people here because although I spent 350 bucks for shipping I have to unload it by hand. Fast forward 2 weeks later order is still not here . Contacted ABF who handles the shipment and had to make an appointment to have it delivered which is today August 25. They never showed up . Contacted decksdirect using their chat and was totally useless . No help, no understanding nothing . I contacted the shipper again and they said oh tomorrow . So I took a day off of work had to make sure others were here. I should not have to be the one dealing with the trucking company . Decksdirect dropped the ball on this and no one there cares. Will it show up tomorrow ? Who knows. So when your shopping for a Deck youre better off shopping locally
Online chat service was quick and helpful. Ordered product and it was delivered 2 days later. The product I ordered is packaged as a set of 4, but a lot of people dont need 4. This is the only supplier I found who breaks the pack and sells them individually. Good service.

Stopped in to review product for an 800 sq ft deck, not much help. Need to make an appointment now to even get into store, but no one calls you back.Can’t imagine if you actually ordered from them And had a problem. More help at the big box stores, which isn’t saying much. Typical male centric bad service.
Amazing Customer Service. They tried so hard to help me get a tool. They enven IM-ed the office staff to see if anyone had one on their desk... When we found that we could not get the official tool to me in time for my project, they offered some potential makeshift ideas to try and do it without the tool... Just fantastic. Oh did I mention that the tool I needed was only $8? Yeah they did that much work for a potential $8 sale. Would recommend in a heart beat.

Poor customer service!!!!! ordered mantis deck clips with screws that are installed with a pneumatic gun. i received the clips and all loose screws (screws not on strips to be fed through a gun). long story short, i would have to truck the wrong order to the postal service to be sent back, then wait three days for the new/proper product to be delivered. the deck was scheduled to be done based on this delivery so im kinda up a creek and will now have to install all the deck clips with a screw gun thereby making the job now take three times longer. thanks for not meeting the needs of a professional deck installer. i wont be ordering from you again. i only reason i gave you one start above is because it wont let me post this without it and the fact that you actually have the correct product but you just didnt know how to send it.

They got asked that 6 times while I was in the store waiting for my order to be pulled and they say they would never sell a open pack lol BS. If you are ok with paying a extra 60.00 just to get that extra baluster then this place is for you.To the response they made, I did order online and picked them up at the warehouse. Still dont see why they cant open a case and sell singles
