This is my happy place - literally. Ive shopped, researched and been inspired by Architectural Antiques since 2001 when they were on Washington Ave. Most recently (2020) we purchased four industrial light fixtures; one for the powder room (3rd photo) and three for our kitchen island. The kitchen installation system required creative problem solving and collaboration with Maddie, Ian and Caleb. The entire team at Architectural Antiques accommodated our creative side tracks and evolving timeline, always with top notch customer service.

They have an amazing collection of lighting but its all way over priced. If your looking for a hard to find piece of hardware this is a good place to start. If youre on a budget dont even bother. It is worth a stroll through if your bored on a weekend.

I recently purchased a hard-to-find item from Architectural Antiques. I appreciated how clean and well-organized the store was, and when I needed help, two staff members made themselves available, even though my purchase was hardly the most lucrative one theyd get that day.

Amazing place for extremely hard to find building materials for historical homes & buildings. Entire rooms like walls & shelves of a library from an old mansion can be purchased if thats your kind of thing. Do not look for getting a good deal here. The prices are appropriate for the uniqueness & scarcity of their amazing products.

They have a number of great items at decent prices. The problem is having a vehicle big enough to get the pieces you want

Very beautiful items, thoughtfully curated store. I loved it until I didnt. Ultimately decided not to give them our business because when we asked how much an unmarked item was, an older gentleman told us, If you have to ask, you cant afford it. I guess they think people dont remodel with a budget in mind.... These items are all overpriced anyway, even though we can afford them.

Nice place to browse and I’ve bought a couple light fixtures from here, but the prices in general are really jacked up. Especially for lighting, there are other options in the antique market for a better deal. I’d haggle or look for a sale before paying full price.

Amazing place! High quality shandeliers and sconces as well as gorgeous stain glass windows, antique mantels and hardware. We got help from one of their long-term employees who knew a ton about the different periods and styles.

Very helpful and accommodating and able to customize canopies chain length etc. on the spot. Lucky to have such a place in Minneapolis. Their prices are steep but once a year they mark down everything steeply, so if you can wait this might be your chance. Staff is truly helpful and went above and beyond to help me with a chain for a heavy chandelier. When we bought a lamp they rewired it for us without asking.

Love to dig around here for hidden gems. Found a small door to repurpose an old fish tank stand into a side table. Paid under 15 dollars for it, he asked for 20 but I only had 12 on me. Another local architectural salvage place did not have the selection or quality and it had ridiculous prices. I was very pleased with my treasure....come during the week. Less busy and more help in unearthing finds.

I puked twice in my mouth after seeing the prices in this joint. First tag was 24k for a chandelier as we walked in and prices did not get better. But I will say, cool place to walk through. Open that wallet if intending to buy,on a budget go to goodwill.

This place is so much fun to walk through... I dont think Ive ever purchased anything from them, but when I need something its one of the first places I go cause they have A LOT. I live in an older home and they are stocked with all sorts of old home finds (from door knobs to light fixtures).

Fun to explore, has lots of pieces with lots of potential. Well curated, not overflowing with junk. Actually feels clean and organized, unlike many antique stores. On the other hand, an average person might not be able to afford to buy a single thing here.

A pleasure to deal with the individuals running this business. They have a keen eye for one-of-a-kind salvage and I can see that they work hard to bring a unique and interesting selection of items to their store. A must-see if you are in the area!

Beautiful collection, its difficult to fall in love with things you simply cannot afford but the silver lining is they are not necessities. The beautiful thing about antiques is they are often pieces you will have for a lifetime and even passed down. For those mad about the pricing in these reviews you may have a skewed sense of reality or priveledge, save up and purchase if you love it regardless... If not, content yourself with Ikea ;)

Beware!!! Rip-off artist. Bad faith dealer.I bought a pair of prairie school windows from Architectural Antiques in 1999, and paid $1,200 for each of them. In 2017, I brought them back to sell. The owner told me that Prairie School had not held its value and all he could offer me (after some haggling) was $300 per window. He said he would only be able to get maybe $500-600 for them today. A few days later, I see them offered on 1st Dibs as: Stunning original George Elmslie cabinet doors $1,560 each... I called and talked to the sales woman who was there when the owner low balled me and trash-talked the windows I had. She apologized and said she could not say anything at the time, but that what happened to me was clearly wrong and the owner knew exactly what they were when he bought them back.Lesson learned: DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Do your business elsewhere.
