Great spot, local coffee shop with great coffee. Staff is always very nice and attentive. Often get iced decaf and iced coffee and they make sure to clearly note them. My son loves the croissants and they have other great muffins and breakfast sandwiches. We are here seasonally and they are very good about picking up our orders. I often go between 6-630 during the week and they are very quick to get my order ready. When I have an option I always want to support local business and they make it easy.

First experience here was awesome, however, my last two encounters here were horrible. My name isn’t that difficult but since it isn’t three letters long, everyone there has difficulty pronouncing it. I kept hearing Brianna, Julian, and Chelsea - Yikes. Plus the staff were rude. No big deal until today - I go to pick up an online order and it took a bit for someone to acknowledge me. This girl walks up and had the utmost prissy demeanor for 8am on a Tuesday for no reason. This place could’ve been my new go to, so that’s a shame. Not to mention I don’t know what the staff are going through and I’ve worked customer service in college so I try to be cognizant.

Sat here for 2 hours to get some work done. Dont rely on their internet cause it doesnt work. Had to connect thru my phone. However the coffee is on point, the atmosphere is nice . Constant flow of customers makes the place enjoyable. Bathrooms are clean. All in all good experience minus the internet situation.

My second visit to Custom House. I do not care for their coffee. I find that the dark roast is brewed too weak resulting in a sweetly sour aftertaste.

This place is the best on the island for coffee and espresso. 10% military discounts apply all the time, but Mondays are 50% off. You can buy freshly roasted beans too. Indoor seating is limited, but its still worth a try to visit. Empire Tea and Coffee is a good second, but if youre looking for a more unique, local, and less touristy experience, visit Custom House Coffee in Middletown.All within walking distance on the same street, you can get coffee and breakfast at Custom House Coffee, breakfast or dessert at Provencal Bakery, and lunch or dinner at Anthonys Seafood.

I can not tell you how the coffee was, I waited between 3-5min. and rang the bell I could see the two people working inside but they never acknowledged me, I was never waited on. I left and went elsewhere.

Coffee was good and I would certainly go back. Covid restrictions are stricter here than in MA or NY or ME. You have to sign in with name and phone number if you even sit on their patio. This is the first place I could not go in since early in the pandemic. I have not hit Starbucks which is just up the road to see if they are taking similar measures. Staff seemed to be a little disorganized. But combine a potentially new person with a new circumstance (Covid precautions), then odd things can happen.

No pour overs. You can only get one of the 4 options they choose for you that day or you can buy it by the pound without sampling it. The medium coffee of the day I had was pretty awful. What coffee shop has dozens of unique coffee (single origin, single orgin organic, and blends) but doesnt provide any way of trying the coffee? They have one class on Saturdays where they let you sample. So they have the equipment and knowledge but cant be bothered to do make pour overs on demand? I asked the owner and he said itll slow things down too much. Its a coffee shop, it takes a few minutes to make coffee. Super agitating.

Coffee is amazing service is great the food options are not good bagels are so so. Muffins are a little better but the breakfast sandwiches are not good. Step up from fast food but not much better

Good coffee. Lots of options. Will need to go back to try their nitro and hot cold brew. They sell beans as well. Very nice space to sit and converse or study or read. Was a little noisy early upon opening but maybe that was their getting ready for work music. Employees were nice and helpful. They have WiFi. Big plus.

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone who loves coffee. If your looking for something sweet Id recommend an Iced Vanilla Chai Latte and if your not looking for something that sweet a hazelnut hot coffee is perfect. Overall this place is my favorite coffee place on the island! :)

Amazing coffee, reminds me of my favorite coffee place in Hawaii. I absolutely love that it is veteran owned, my dad is navy, my brother and brother-in-law are navy, my other brother and my cousin are Air Force, and I have dedicated my life to working with military kids like me and my siblings.

My son in law claims its the best egg n sausage sandwich in town, delicious chia coffee and cold brew..Dog friendly outdoor patio.

Really nice staff but the espresso was made bitter by extracting way too much liquid and the latte milk was scalded so hot that it was not sweet anymore. Maybe just a fluke for that one barista, the morning of July 31st. Cookie was almost grainy with sugar but thats a ”different strokes sort of preference.
