I got hit by a rather large deer in my relatively new car on the 1 year anniversary of having it. As you can imagine, I was devastated! But I cannot say enough about Gerber, Merrillville. From the moment they received my vehicle to the moment I picked it up, approx 3 weeks, I got regular updates weekly and communication on work that needed to be completed and when it was completed. They even had it back to me sooner than the estimated time. It was a heavy job with the majority of the passenger side and front having to be repaired or totally replaced. John was the absolute best to work with. One of the most professional gentleman I have ever had to work with, in fact. Brooke was also great in relaying my calls and answering what she could. I am so happy to have found a reliable repair shop. Hopefully I dont ever need them again but if I do, I for sure will be using Gerber! Thanks again so much for the care of my vehicle and my peace of mind.
Overall, the paint is ok. Just not happy with some of the other stuff. My wifes vehicle was repainted almost in its entirety. Brought it in to have a two or three spots addresses after the paint, one spot being on hood. Technician burned the paint with the buffer, and we had to bring the car back so they could take two days to repair the damage they caused. Also, now there are rock chips on the front of the car that werent there in the first place, or Id have included them in the list of things to address. I suspect it is an errantd buffer strike. Use a rental car provided by them for two days while they addressed their mistake, as well as buffer strike on a chromed window piece. Pick up the car only to be told AGAIN Ill have to drop it off because the chromed piece needs to be replaced That piece could have been ordered weeks beforehand. Still have the rock chips aka buffer strike on the front of the vehicle (rocks dont leave 5 marks in a line at regular intervals). Also, last time picking the car up, interior smelled bad and some tech left his greasy fingerprints on the drivers visor. Still have to take it back for half a day to get the piece replaced. So its been more of a headache than I would have liked, and Im still going to have chipped paint at the end of this.
They did a good job. I only had issues with scheduling my appointment and with the strong odor that lingered a few days after. I was happy with the price and installation. Not happy with the calls back and forth to schedule or the strong smell.
Very clean and tidy facility. staff are great and informative. cant even tell they replaced doors and panels on the passenger side of the car. great work and quick. even took the time to wipe down the inside of my vehicle. highly recommend.

Had some minor collision work done on a 2020 explorer. It was a one stop shop going through insurance, Gerber basically took care of everything. Rental car was dropped off the night before work began which made the whole process easy. No complaints at all vehicle was brought back to factory specs and has a lifetime guarantee.....i would definitely recommend.

Would not blend paint so bumber and fender would match. They made every excuse they could come up with. DO NOT GO TO THEM!!! It was like pulling teeth just to get my car 90% fixed correct.
Charge way too much
My girlfriend had her car repaired here, after a deer did what deer do. Repairs were completed in a timely fashion. A day after the repair was completed, she was driving on the highway, another vehicle was attempting to change into her lane, she went to use the horn, and is didnt work. Luckily she had an out and avoided the other driver. We returned to Gerber to get the horn fixed. After multiple visits spanning four weeks, they were able to replace the horn. Im glad the issue was resolved, but how did that get missed in the first place? Allowing a vehicle to leave your shop without testing an important safety feature? I hope this was a fluke, check your horn before leaving here.
