I went to this location in October of 2020 to purchase a car to get me to and from work. The sales woman was very nice and professional. During the first few months my car kept burning oil and continuously getting an oilChange before 3,000 miles. Finally in July my transmission blew and would not shift gears. I was 8 MONTHS PREGNANT! So I took it to service and they replaced my transmission. Here I thought my worries were over, two weeks after giving birth to my son the gears did the same thing as it previously did. They told me it needed a transmission flush. Okay cool, I assumed the problem was fixed. Now I’m here with the same issue. I spoke with the generalManager and he was not helpful at all and somewhat rude. He was trying to tell me “we are eating the cost to replace your transmission and get the service done” what does that have to do with me?! I have paid more into this car monthly than they paid in getting it fixed and the fact that the transmission blew was not my fault. I told him I didn’t want the car anymore as it gave me the same issue 3 times!!! He said he couldn’t do that. He then told me to bring it in and they will give me a loaner car. I asked for a loaner car the past two times and they said they didn’t do that. These people are scam artists. They make profitably off of hard working people then don’t want to fix the issue correctly when they sell underperforming cars. Don’t waste your money here!!!!Update: they gave me a loaner car for the time being but the loaner Can has brake issues as it keeps whistling everytime I attempt to stop the car also the check engine light came on the next day I received it. It’s like they don’t care for the safety of me and my infant child.
DO NOT BUY any cars from here we purchased a car and we were told all the fluids were checked but come to find out they filled the coolant with water which caused the car to overheat so we couldn’t get the car up to them and they would not tow it there so we had to take it close by to get it fixed and pay out of pocket and they did absolutely nothing about it.. when I called Brandon at the Meriden ct store he wouldn’t help me or do anything.. these cars are not reliable and they don’t care.. they also have been taking out extra money for car insurance that we already have they did this 3 times in a row after we called the first time and it was supposed to be handled.. I DO NOT recommend anyone going up there
ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH PURCHASING FROM! I purchased a car from them…had it for 2 months and it was in the ship with them for one of the months!Transmission and check engine light! They had my car for a week…after waiting a week for the appointment…repaired the transmission…a week after the check engine light comes back on…had to wait 2 weeks for the appointment and they tell me it is an o2 sensor and muffler leak and want to charge me to repair it…after calling for 5 days to get in touch with the finance manager to explain that this problem has been going on since the first week I’ve had the car and that I’m not paying for the repair that was supposed to have been repaired already he (Nelson) literally informs me “it’s tough luck everything is happening so quickly after buying the car…we will only split the cost” Buddy you do know ct has a lemon law for dealerships like you? Absolutely a deplorable establishment!

They waited 3 weeks to take a payment out and now they took money that was for my rent dont wait 3 weeks its not my fault u were late I will never buy a car from them again plus they sold me a car with a lot of scratches and they told me they were gonna talk to the service people to fix it its been a month still havent heard anything I called them no one got back to me they want there money but dont want to help you ... So I wanted to wait a bit to give a review to really feel out my car. So I’ll start with the service. My sales rep was Tanisha and she was amazing! She was patient and helped me with any questions that I had. I can remember the name of the man I closed the deal with, but he was super friendly as well and very helpful. I see a lot of comments that people are saying they had a bad experience and I can not imagine how! They took care of me and my family from beginning to end and my car is great! Drives great too. Unprofessional when it comes to fixing there problems, The staff insisted I needed “CPI” along with my initial car purchased. I was adamant I didn’t need it because I have full coverage with my insurance already, after a long back and forth they convinced me I needed it (it was too late in the evening for me to call and prove I was already insured) after 2 years of paying CPI to insure my car I got into a car accident and my insurance collected the vehicle. I attempted to speak to any manager I could about some form of compensation on there behalf seeing as how I was supposed to be covered by the CPI as well, the managers Nelson & Brandon insisted they were “working on it” it’s been a week and they eventually stopped picking the phone up. When I speak to staff to get a hold of them the response I continue to receive is “he’s at a meeting” or “he’ll call you back when he’s available” I spoke to the staff about reserving a vehicle I was interested in and even staying I have a down payment. They refused to reserve the car due to the accident and my “account being open” when I attempted to explain my situation it was met with no help, aid, or assistance I simply got told to “wait until Nelson is available to speak” extremely frustrated and fed up. No one seems willing to help or understand but they will harass you if you’re payment doesn’t go through. One day my bank (Webster) must have been having issues and they bi weekly payment didn’t process. I woke up to 5 missed calls and a late fee despite me being on the phone while I told Nelson “that’s impossible try again” he responded “oh that’s weird... I still have to charge you with the late fee though” the service is almost as terrible as management and it needs to be addressed
My appointment was at 10am. I was seen on time. The staff was extremely friendly. I had a noise coming from the front Drivers tire. One of the technicians got into the passenger seat to ride with me to listen and feel the problem. He was polite and friendly still. After the diagnosis was complete the problem was actually the loose tire nuts. At no cost they replaced all four nuts and secured my tire. Checked the axle, brakes and bearings entering was fine. They were very thorough and patient. I was by pleased and grateful for their service. I would recommend them 100%.
Sold me a lemon car, every light on the dashboard literally came on within a month of having the car, car had no brakes. E brakes didn’t work either almost died . Brake drums was broken brake fluid was leaking out the whole brake system failed while i was going down a hill. Transmission on car was going and car started to have electrical problems.
I will never give them any of my business or money I went to get a car and I wasn’t able to because my daughter went to get a car loan from them two weeks ago. Which to me it didn’t make any sense cause what does that have to do with me getting a car

This place is a whole lie. Its says 99.99 down i wwnt there with $200 and they said because i disnt have a ct license i couldnt so i got that taken care of. And the salesperson that i was dealing with kept asking me how much i was putting down and i tild her multiple times the same thing. Then they call when they have a car i actually want and i even say 300 and they say they cant help me unless i have 500 so they can f*** off for false advertisements and lying and wasting my time
Make sure to get both keys. The only give you one key they hold they other hostage until you off the loan and then make you purchase a copy. Read your contract if you have an attorney take them with you. Pay attention to everything in the contract.
Wouldnt approve me because they claim I dont make enough but wouldnt count my Insta cart income. Cars are older and drastically overpriced you definitely might want gap insurance. I ended up getting a 2019 Nissan from Enterprise Car Sales.
Jd byrider is one of the most worst companies out here I ended up buying a 2008 Dodge Avenger from the Springfield ma location who now is closed and has been shut down the book value of my car is 1,600 dollars I ended up paying 21,000 and I have 4800 that I owe and they won’t help me by adding what I owe to a new loan. My car has been falling apart since I got it along with the rust spots on the car. That they said they would fix and never did now the tipm module has failed and they won’t do anything for me after being a loyal and on time customer even through Covid 19. Great company guys you rob honest working people by charging over 100 percent of the book value of a car. I do not recommend this company if you have no choice be weary of these thieves.

I am having a terrible issue with the GM. He refused to provide me with a number of a higher up, claiming he does not have a boss, and there is no one above him. I was hung up on and told he was spending to much time talking to me. I read another review about him and that person was given a fake phone number with name. I dont want to get anyone in trouble or cause issues, I had issues with him about a year ago and started dealing with a different finance officer who was amazing, I called 2 weeks ago and was told she is no longer there. Woke up last night to find out my car was repossessed I HAD NO IDEA, yes I knew I had missed a payment and planned to make up that payment and my current payment today. This has happened before and nothing happened. GM says certified mail was sent I NEVER received anything. They called ONCE last night at 6:52 NO VOCEMAIL NOTHING!!! He is unwilling to take a check over the phone or debit payment, he said its ONLY one more stop for cash or get a money order, I DONT HAVE A CAR they are an hour away. ALSO now he wants to Re-approve me and wants paystubs, proof of ins, and references, which is all fine except all those documents are home. I had uber to work, I cant take the $700 out of the ATM I have to go to the bank, thats ANOTHER uber, Ill have to uber home get the documents, then uber to them. If he would just accept a check I could pay him right NOW and then uber to get my car. I feel he is just making this even harder and yes I was wrong for being 28 days late, BUT they could have said hey if you dont pay by this date we are going to take your car. BUT NOTHING. Im crushed, other then my interactions with him I have had ZERO issues with JD Byrider, when my motor blew less than 6 moths after I bought it they were 100% helpful, its a shame he treats people this way. I get they probably deal with a lot but come on I was laid off due to COVID 19 but am thankfully bank to work. Its a time to help others, not kick them when they are down.

They’re no good I got sold a car with no brakes and the engine blew the month I got it let’s not forget the rear bumper and both headlights blew I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Had a 3 year loan with this company and the transmission went after 160,000 miles literally right after I paid it off. Not to mention we had to bring it to the auto repair every 3 or 4 months.. Just a headache with these people. Dont waste your time! Plus they harrass you for your payment every week, and if u dont answer on your cell they start calling your job.. literally worse place. I shouldve never went here, but they take advantage of people that have bad credit. Their cars are wayyy overpriced. Wish I had more options at the time to shop somewhere else. I will say something good about them was their repair shop they were amazing and cheap!

Everyone is nice. They try to get you out quickly. Prices are pretty good. They work with you. They get different cars all the time, saw a car I wanted online but when I got there, they had others that I really wanted. Wish everyone was on the same page. Every department focus on their assigned position so cant ask one department about something not in their job description. Other than that everything has been great with my car and the service I have received. I have recommended them before and still will recommend them.

Dennis and the receptionist were amazing! Came in for an oil change. Dennis brought to my attention; that my front tires were dangerously low on thread. I wasn’t prepared to pay for tires. However, I was granted an option to get the tires and pay next week (every account is reviewed and they will tell you if you qualify for it) I got my new tires at a very reasonable price. And I was allow to pay for them the week later! Thank you! That was a life saver :)
Unfortunately, the owner makes a profit from the need for people who really need a car either for work or not to depend on others. My experience was horrible I do not wish it to anyone first they treat you like a king and then you are rubbish if you complain about the price my people I took a 2013 passat out of necessity and after paying almost 6 months a day I see the balance of $ 13,700 that was sold to me at $ 13,250, that is, where the money was paid, it bothers me, I call to claim and nothing happens they threw me out of work what I notify and for delaying a payment they take the car and to top it off for me to recover my things they required me $ 275.00 in a nutshell they are licensed thieves. The court or some government agency should close the business because it is completely a fraud.And another thing mr owner not need your apology I need my money back.

I got a car from here and I just want people to know, NEVER buy a car from these people none of them they over triple charge for cars they do not hold there word and now I have to fear for my life, because someone that I no longer few with called up there because I told the person I didnt have a car and they went behind me because he called and said he was my brother they told him Info about my account then the excuse was oh well he wanted to make a payment, I have no one on myLoan but me and why would anyone ever do that, its an invasion of privacy and they dont know if this person trying to kill me or anything they even told the person what day I made my payment. So me and my ex boyfriend got cars from here 3 years ago I let him use my card to pay his car note sometimes now we are not together and I don’t know what he do but they think it’s ok to take his payments out on my bank card like we pay on line and I always use one time payment that is not ok to just do and this place is the worst very unprofessional then when I call I get no call back or nothing I will never get a car from them I’m so fed up when them
Came in because the car I bought 4 days ago showed signs of shaking and pulling, request services done, the service department checked the car further and gave me rotors for free. Some sarcasm, but I shook it off and kept my positive vibe going, in a good not negative fashion. So far so good. I felt that the service department did not take me seriously in regards to the condition of my car, and I still have to bring my car back to get serviced.

Dont let theyre sweet courteous manner fool you. All it takes is quick Google search to find out the real story. They claim that they are trying to help you, but truth is theyre only helping themselves. Dont think youre going pick the car you want, theyll give 2-3 choices and thats it. They will call every reference you list if God forbid youre one day late with a payment. Over priced cars that are guaranteed to have somethings wrong with it. God forbid you need something fixed. Dont expect a loaner or for it to be done in a timely manner or for it to be fixed. The only reason I bought a car here is because I was too impatient to do it the right way. This place is absolutely terrible it’s highway robbery at is finest they tried to sell me a 2014 VW Jetta shy of 14K and on top the base model I quickly ran out of that place the thing that they didn’t look up was that 14k was the msrp for that particular model new out the lot inform yourselves before falling for this we want to help you scam

They were so nice in the being but as time went on I began to HATE this place wished I never got my car from them. I called back to back one time and the guy that sits behind the girl on the left hand side said to me “my name we see you calling us but we are busy with customers . We will give you a call back”. They never called me back. I’ve have to bring my car in for maintenance maybe five times since I got my car. I referred a customer over five months ago and never received the $200 for referred a customer. I know he gave my name when buying the car. The General manager is rude.
If I could give them negative stars, I would. Be wary of dealerships that do not advertise their prices or display them on their windshields. I made an appointment and brought in all the required paperwork to finance a vehicle. I went through all of the income verification and reference checks (be prepared to provide 13!). After taking off half a day of work and wasting HOURS at this place, they offered to let me look at 3 vehicles (why only 3? Theres NOTHING new on the lot). Im not talking about super nice ones either. I test drove a 2007 Tucson. It was ok. I thought to myself that I could pay on it for a year and trade it in after re-establishing my credit worthiness. Behold the sticker shock! They wanted $11,800 for a vehicle that was only worth $4,500 - $5,500 retail, $2,200 trade-in value!!! Theres no way I would ever be able to trade that in ever because I would be UPSIDE DOWN. They added 18% interest to the deal. Yeah...no thanks! Dont waste your time going to this place. Its a total rip-off.

I was played I got a Kia Rio on the 1st of month by the end of the month the brakes started to squill and jump like they were slipping took the car back on the 12th of the next month they gave me a loaner which turned out to be another death trap and was told that I googled the info about whether I might lose control while driving when I got the info from the cars manual so I guess the manager knows more than the auto manufacturer and just because the dash board is displaying a warning light you should continue to drive the vehicle until there is an accident regrets regrets regrets

Make sure everything is on point before you drive off the lot. My rear rotars were rusted. The back brakes were low. I had to go back 3 days after driving off the lot replace my transmission. I call because im getting clicking and noise from my belts. And im trying to get it fixed on warrenty and conveniently for them theres no open slots to get it checked out. And I have to wait a week.. After expressing concern about further ruining or damaging anthing in the engine. Its like they want me to exhaust my limited warrenty.Im already paying 4x what the cars worth. Its not to much to expect pristine service.
Absolutely horrible... my biggest issue with these people is when I decide to make an early before (before it is actually due) yet the CNAC department would still charge me again on the due date even though I clearly made an early payment. Then it takes up to 10 days for the money to be refunded back. Just all around lack of diligence and care for the customers! Also, Brandon is extremely unprofessional and cannot articulate his reasonings to the customer without getting frustrated. I plan to file a formal complaint against him after an incident I had with him. Definitely would NOT recommend JD BYRIDER 👎👎👎👎.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !! These people will try and get over on you don’t do it. I got approved for a car from dealer in Meriden. I went down there to look at which cars I was approved for. The sales associate Tanisha informed me which cars I was approved for but did not give me prices for each vehicle. I politely asked her for the prices of each vehicle that I was approved for. Tanisha told me that her Manager said i couldn’t see the prices on the vehicle I had to pick a car and then they would tell me the price. That was the first red flag. I have NEVER been to car dealership where they don’t tell you the price of the vehicles that you are approved for. I realized after, they do that because they make up prices off of the top of their head. On top of being overcharged for a $5,000 vehicle (they charged me 20,000) I didn’t even get a working key to my vehicle. When I originally test drove the vehicle the sales associate Tanisha would not give me the keys but insisted that she would open the door and let me in. I test the drove the car it was fine. I get home lock the doors and return to my car 20mins later and the alarm is sounding when I use my key to unlock the door. The alarm is sounding and will not go off until I turn the key in the ignition. I brought the car back to JD and asked them why was them why was the alarm sounding when I unlocked the vehicle. The “mechanic” says it needs a key fab. I asked them why wasn’t I presented with a key fab with my purchase after asking my sales associate if this particular car required a Key Fab and was told it didn’t. He claimed that he would reprogram the car and that would fix the problem. I test the car before I leave and the alarm doesn’t sound. I get home of course and the alarm sounds again. This tells me that they rigged the car during the test drive so that the alarm wouldn’t sound and when I confronted the store manager Argun Agis about it he refused to provide a key fab or a new key. So now I’m stuck with a key that half works on top of a car that’s leaking oil and the check engine light came on within 10 days of driving the vehicle. I had to add oil to this car after the first week of driving. When confronted about this matter they tried to make my appt after CT’s 30 day law so that I would have to fix it myself. They love taking advantage of BLACK WOMEN. So I’m advising all of my sisters to STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER . Best advice I could give DONT DO IT! YOU’ll be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AND THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY. P.S unlike most this review was not paid

Idk why they have such a low rating, I was in there yesterday and not only did they buy me lunch due to long waiting, the manager also put the down payment for me, and so far I love my car ! its great! when my phone was dying one of the workers let me use her charger, now as for the car itself its only been one day so too early to tell, BUT the way they treat their guests is very very good !

Byrider customer service was fantastic!!!I arrived at my schedule time they completed the job very quickly like they stated & where very friendly, they also answered any and all questions I had concerning my vehicle. I was a believing customer with them up until I needed them. I had my car and made every payment on time for a whole year with no issues. They told me from the start if anything comes up just be communicative with them and they will work with me. I recently lost my job and fell behind 1 payment and they started calling and harassing me every day, they started running my banking account info and debit card info without my permission causing me to get hit with overdraft fees, they harass me and threatened me with repossession. I speak with Linda and tell her my situation and she goes into her notes and writes bogus lies about what I said so they can run my card info on the days they want money. They are not about helping the customers they are money hungry. They have yet to help me in my time of need. They put a block from allowing me to pay on my own so I have to call in and give them my card info so they can store it and run it whenever they feel like it.. the only great experience I’ve had we’re going there for oil changes. They make it so your stuck in the car they pretty much made you get into and stick you at the payment amount cuz they get paid the most in interest. I also never got any check or payment for any of the referrals I’ve sent down there that purchased a car.

Deserve negative 5 stars, unfortunately not a choice, to post you have to give minimal of a star, and it is by far not earned. Dishonest and illegal process, unprofessional employees, old cars with falsified car facts.

They are a complete scam! Dont do it! Ive posted on their FB page, and they delete it so you cant see. Theyre deceptive about the fees, and they call your job the day before your payment is due. Just to be sure youre gonna pay. Every two weeks they call your work. I dont know about you, but my employer doesnt appreciate that.
