A charming yet busy breakfast and brunch place. The coffee was good and there are some specialty drinks such as the Mayan cappuccino to bring you out of your comfort zone, but if thatโs not your pace the iced cafe latte is a classic and quite good! Their menu has a nice selection of vegetarian and vegan options and their veggie sausage was one of the better ones iโve had. The stuffed french toast does not skimp on the nutella and the highlight of our meal.
Itโs charming and has great coffee options, but sit down for breakfast and you wonโt get good service. Theyโll either forget youโre there altogether, or bring your food so late, itโs cold. That last one is what happened to us this morning: the biscuits were so cold that they had turned hard, and the eggs and sausage patties were rubbery from standing in the air. Not going to give them a third chanceโฆ especially in a town with so many great breakfast places.
Nice community cafe; great location. My meal: Rachel Breakfast Wrap (scrambled eggs, avocado, peppers, bacon and cheese in a warm tortilla wrap) and delicious, hot Cappuccino. My sister had the French Toast, a side of Turkey sausage and Apple juice. They are practicing social distancing and other proper sanitizing orders. The cutlery is wood...nice and disposable.
So this last visit was extremely disappointing, our server was overwhelmed and never offered a refill on water or coffee and checked on the table maybe once My food the breakfast hash was great but my partner got the bagel and lox and the tomatoes were cut what looked a like a hobos pocket knife and out of season, and the bagel itself may as well have come from the day old bakery. The real frustration was getting plastic utensils on a 70 plus dollar brunch. I really enjoyed this place in the past but I can for sure say I will not be recommending this is to anyone not eating there again. I keep wanting it to get better an fit just doesnโt.
Drove from 15 minutes away to this place to find the doors shut, saying the kitchen is closed but you can get pastries or drinks. Tried to open the door - locked. Says on door open Sunday til 3pm, yet at 1pm doors are locked. I understand they might not have staff to stay open, but at least let people know so they donโt have to make a 30 minute round trip. Super slack.Edit: appreciate the response
Food was very yummy, coffee was pretty good. Staff was friendly and seated quickly. There was an unfortunate staff shortage so the wait was longer than expected but they were working hard apologetic. I would revisit!
Great place for breakfast, brunch, heck pretty much anytime your hungry. Lots of menu options and if your having brunch they add a few twist to the choices you already love. Get desert and coffee. Loved the Salmon BLT too. Waitstaff was fast and friendly. Parking was good and service was super fast. Overall you canโt go wrong here. Mac and cheese pleased everyone and the outdoor seating is fun.
I arrived at Cafe Eclectic at about 1230, the waitress came to my table and took my drink order, then she returned 15 minutes later to take my food order. I waited for over 1 hour before I went to check with the waitress about my food. She never came neck to check on me. While waiting I asked 1 of the waitress for a lid and she stated Ill let your server know Im too busy but comes out to check on her tables twice, while holding a 3 minute conversation with them. Finally food 1hour and 15 minutes later. Also I was a party of 1..
Well the place didnt have much of a wait when my wife and I arrived. It took awhile for us to be greeted and seated, even thought we were the only ones in line. I did like the atmosphere though. When I got my food, my omelette didnt have cheese in it and my veggie sausage were cold. The food was alright otherwise. They have a homemade strawberry jello on the table thats pretty good. Since I never received the grape jelly I asked for I figured I would go ahead and try it. The biscuits could have been a little more warm. My wife seemed to enjoy her food.
Great little breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe with a calm atmosphere and caring staff. They were busy but the wait wasnt too long. I got the Garden omelet with biscuits, along with a green tea latte with almond milk. Delicious and fresh. The prices arent too bad, either. Im looking forward to coming back with friends.
Pleasant outdoor seating with some shady places including a couple tables under trees and a few seats not _right_ near the busy street. Service was a bit slow. Food is tasty. We had the Avalon omelet, a bagel and lox, a cheddar jalapeno biscuit. The biscuit was a bit oily but that may be inevitable from the amount of cheese in it. Cold brew was pretty good.
Food and service was fast and delicious. It looked crowded when we pulled up, but there was plenty of room. We enjoyed our meal and the waiter was attentive. Love the artwork, too.
Food was decent, but the service was bad. Waited an hour to get our food, during which the server never checked on us so we couldnt order more drinks or even get refills. It didnt help that they turned off the AC in the room they sat us in.
The food was very good, the bakery goods were EXCELLENT! the service was slow but our waitress did check on us regularly. Lovely area of the city, not far from Midtown, and a stones throw from the Memphis zoo.
Waited almost an hour to get our food. We ordered biscuits as an appetizer only to be told 45 minutes later that they had run out of biscuits. When the food finally came to the table after an hour of waiting, my toast was burnt black. This has been one of the worse customer service experiences I think Iโve ever had. Not sure if theyโre understaffed or what it is, but it was definitely not great.
Love the vegan pancakes! They have such a great texture and flavor. Coffee is awesome too!
Decent. This place was recommended by some locals and wasnt all its cracked up to be. Maybe the other location is better. Brioche French Toast was good but they keep it cold inside so it got cold quickly. Bacon was really good. Biscuits were old. Sausage was old and dried out. They give you coffee in a paper cup. The server was not very attentive and didnt bring us things we asked for. Overall, Ill try a different place for breakfast next time I come to Memphis.
The food was perfect and the London Fog tea was to die for. If I ever go to Memphis again I will definitely be back
The last time I was at this place was back in the winter. Waited 40 minutes to get my food. Stopped by today for breakfast. Only two wait staff and one was busy looking at photos on a phone with one of the customers. She said she would be with us in a moment to seat us then went to another table to take their order. We just left. So much for giving this place a second chance.
This is a great spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch or brunch. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Karen was our waitress and she is an absolute sweetheart. She made sure we had everything we needed. I think she was a huge part of why we enjoy the cafe so much. She greeted us with a smile and answered all question we had. The wait time for our food was about 30min, and thats the reason, I couldnt give 5 stars, but that was no fault of hers. My kitchen sink omelet was stuffed with meat and veggies and might I add it was delicious and very fulfilling. My husband had chicken and waffles and the chicken was good but the waffle was absolutely delicious! I will definitely bring my family to this cafe the next time there in town.
This place was just fantastic! The biscuits were fresh made, the signature tea London Fog was very tasty, and my Bird Benedict was a bite of heaven. We also had a wonderful server named Jacob, who was attentive without being overbearing. His recommendations were spot on!I would come back again if I pass through Tennessee again.
I enjoy supporting local businesses, and within my experience working in the food industry, and providing customer service. I didnโt have a pleasant experience at Cafe Electic. It was my first time going to the restaurant, and seemed like they had just opened, since the crowd was so small.I ordered an omelette, the French the be exact but were out of most items that I asked for like orange juice, and grapefruit but was cool with it, since I needed brain food for the gym. I ordered coffee with my beverage. Since CDC has social distancing guidelines I was asked to get up, and go to the door but initially I thought it was completely dine-in. I didnโt get offered to sit in another area, so I got my order and ate in my car in the rain.I had no silverware or napkins at all, and was dissatisfied but food was decent. Service needs to be better.
My group really enjoyed our meal! The venue is nice and cozy and the waitress was really attentive and kind! There are vegan and vegetarian options as well. I would recommend this place, but get there early because tables filled up fast!
I was really hoping to LOVE this place and make it my weekly ritual to stop in and read for breakfast.First off, the service is AWESOME here. Staff are friendly and helpful, and focused on safety during these strange times. I also liked that they used compostable, disposable dinnerware.I ordered a cinnamon roll and the fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and for my coffee the creme brรปlรฉe latte. The cinnamon roll looked promising, but when I bit into it after they warmed it up, it had a weird taste too it, as if the dough was in a refrigerator and defrosted then not heated up enough..like it wasnโt baked fresh that morning. The chicken, biscuits and gravy, tasted amazing! The chicken was warm, but the gravy was extremely thick and not piping hot, not sure why, but it was a weird combination. The biscuits were soft and yummy though. Finally the creme brรปlรฉe latte also came out under temperature. The top is just caramel sauce, whipped cream and sugar trying to mimic a brรปlรฉe.Overall my food experience was underwhelming. The service was exceptional, and i will probably give it one more chance before I write it off completely.
Cafe Eclectic is always a must visit when Im in Memphis! Most recently I had the Black Bean Melt and Mac n Cheese. I waited a little longer than anticipated for my tea and for the food, but everything was hot and delicious. It was a little bit busier than I expected for early afternoon, so the slow service was understandable.Cafe Eclectic is such a lovely space to have a casual lunch, whether you just need a quick snack or sit and chat for a while.
I got a to go order through their mobile app. I go up there when I receive the text that my order is ready. At first they cant find my order, but then it turns out they were still working on it. Dont know what happened there, but at least they were professional about it. The pastry I got was old, and the coffee was mediocre. Its a nice place, but I wont be back.
I was in Memphis for a few days, it was so hard to find places with vegetarian friendly menu options, this place seemed to have some so I decided to try...The place was a little dark, not the best atmosphere, still had a good experience. The menu was too large. I got the Karamel Sutra Latte, it was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness to balance the flavor of the espresso. I also tried the Black Bean Wrap, great flavor, interesting to have a crispy black bean burger in the wrap, I also liked that it was grilled. The fries however were not great, looked like the fryer oil needed to be changed, they were so dark and tasted kind of burnt. They had a large selection of fresh baked goods that looked amazing but too full to try, did try the breakfast biscuit sandwich which was good too.
They took 40 minutes to take our order, and only after we mentioned to them that they served two tables that sat down after us. It took an hour to bring our food out after ordering. They werent even very busy. The chicken and biscuits was awful; dry flavorless biscuits, and burnt dry chicken. The lox salmon bagel was palatable, but only after having to build it myself from components piled on the paper plate. The onions and capers were brought swimming in brine so I had to drain them. The tomatoes were sliced several days prior, as evidenced by their translucency. The silverware had food stuck to them from poor washing. The only redeeming qualities were the coffee and the serene outdoor seating. No offer was made to rectify our dissatisfaction regarding the food preparation or the painful lack of punctuality. Only come for coffee, and you may even find better coffee elsewhere.
We were massively disappointed. The kitchen was extremely slow and the food was subpar. We were passing through on a road trip and this set us back an hour and 45 mins. I was surprised how different our experience we from the reviews and articles we read before trying.
Best food we had in Memphis. High quality fresh food. Mac and cheese is a must have side. Mid town gem. Great location next to Rhodes. Highly recommend
This is a great hidden gem that I just discovered this morning. Cool looking place, nice vibe, great staff and the pancakes were amazing just bring your appetite ๐ฒ Definitely coming back here when the weather is nicer and test out there lunch on the patio ๐
Came in today at 9:15 to grab breakfast. I sat for 30 minutes outside and was not served. the Hostess was rude. Complained to the manager. She was apologetic. We left
I was completely let down. I was visiting from Kansas City and this was the #2 coffee chop in the area. The atmosphere seemed great and service staff seemed okay as well. But my problem came with the food and oddly the coffee. Letโs begin with the coffee shall we?! We ordered a French pressed coffee, it arrived in a fashionable timeframe, thatโs not the issue. The issue was that it arrived without cups, cream or sugar. The coffee itself was okay, but thatโs it, just okay. Nothing that couldnโt be done at the house! On to the food, the homemade yogurt was more of a strange concoction of sour cream and fruit. Texturally speaking, it was unsettling. And I we were just let down. Unfortunately for this local staple, I have to say I do not recommend
This was the worse experience Iโve ever had at a restaurant. We ordered Chicken tenders, chicken and waffles... they both was burnt!!!! We also ordered the salmon biscuit... the salmon was sliced very thin and was too undercooked. Biscuits were very very hard! Ordered pancakes and eggs were very soft...bacon cooked well.... also hash were tooo hard. We had to ask the sever for simple items and condiments every couple of minutes.
Very good food, wait staff was attentive and kind, but also let me do my work without bothering me. Coffee was great! Definitely coming back!
I love going here alone or with friends for breakfast. The food is delicious. I love their grits and pancakes. They have an amazing selection of coffee beverages. I always get the chai latte. Today I ordered the avocado toast. It was wonderful. There was plenty of avocado on whole grain bread and it was topped with scrambled eggs. Their baked goods are awesome as well. I have gotten assorted pastries and coffee for work meetings on several occasions.
The environment makes for a chill cafe experience and the coffee was very expertly crafted. Highly recommend the French toast and the whipped cream on their lattes is the absolute best Ive ever had.
I ordered a slice of veggie quiche. It was freezing cold. Also had meat in it, didnโt realize until i took the first bite. As a vegetarian I am VERY upset with the lack of attention and thoroughness my order received. The waiter asked if I wanted veggie or meat quiche, and I specifically said veggie and still ended up with meat. I love Cafe Eclectic and I still plan on grabbing coffee there because it tastes soo good, however I was so disappointed with service this time.
Saw this place online ... tried it out twice . Prices are cheap and affordable and the food was great. A huge FLAW is the utensils ... the tip of the fork broke off and I didnโt realize ... almost swallowed some wood . The utensils can easily break... that is a safety precaution... but other than that, the service is great . This establishment deserves more attention. The coffee is as good as Starbucks / if so better for a cheaper price I can definitely say that .To each it is their own .
The coffee was pretty good, but the price on the milk replacement was high. The vegan pancakes were pretty tasty. The potato hash was oily and looked quite bad. See attached photo. The $6 Salmon English Muffin sandwich was expensive for what you got. It was alone on the plate, begging for something on the side in any way possible. Parking can be a nightmare, be warned.
Good coffee, great food and amazing service!
Good food and coffee but slow service when busy.
This is a nice little place. Cafe, coffee house. Very nice and great service. Special coffees and desserts is what we stopped in for and we were extremely happy. Reccomend the cinnamon Jim, espresso Mylan, coffee and icecream desserts we had the chocolate cow and the Charlie Brown. Wow....great stuff. Nice quiet environment where we could visit.
Food is excellentService fast and friendlyCozy environment
Lovely space, friendly staff, crispy bacon, ample coffee. Only single negative is 5 min delay between my food and that of my seat mate
Excellent coffee, great menu choices, but seriously.... expect a long wait. Seating on a Sunday at noon was 30mins, by then we were ready to order, 20mins for drinks to arrive, and 1hr15mins for food to arrive. Management / owners should provide some form of an appetizer at that point. (biscuit or toast?) our food was just ok, brunch was only available. Very greasy, though presentation was on point. Fair prices as well.
We visited this location for breakfast while traveling through Memphis. It was pouring rain and still we got the last parking place in the lot. No wait inside--we were seated instantly. Our server was courteous, helpful with as newbies and brought coffee quickly. The food was excellent.
07/11/2021... made reservations for 12:00, sat down at 12:08. Food came at 1:00, i think a cook walked out not sure but we was patient. Took my fiancรฉ out for brunch, Lexi were our server. First time here I order the Birds nest Benedict and waffold with chicken. I enjoyed the Waffold I substituted with chicken because I dont eat sausage nor bacon, extra charge but I didnt care it was pretty good chicken wasnt dry everything was hot. My fiancรฉ got an omelette with turkey links. Lexi was very polite and nice I wish the music wasnt as loud because I felt like I was screaming my order at her lol I notice no one had on name tags and I think the manager asked was everything ok I think that was her with the Believe sunflower. But overall experience was nice and Lexi came to check on us quite some time.
Been here twice during the pandemic, and while it was highly recommended and the food tastes good, there is always something service-related that ruins it. The first time (back in June) we waited nearly 45 minutes after the โready timeโ to receive the meal. The second time, the order was not made to specification (see photo). Just stick to the basics and youโll have a good meal, if you get there early enough.
Great experience!! Staff was so nice and friendly! Lattes were tasty and the food was exceptional. We did have a slight problem because we didnt know about the 4 adult max at a table since the pandemic, but they were really sweet about it and explained everything. Definitely one of my new favorites!
We had several disappointment while here but the taste and quality of the food was wonderful! Our waiter rushed us to order (and rolled her eyes when I hadnt decided what to get yet) and I panicked ordered the brioche french toast, but it was delicious with lots of flavor. It was good enough that I would come back just for that.
Nice atmosphere . nice wait staff . But order tofu substituted on a sandwich, First time received chicken . Waitress was glad to replace it. Second time no meat no tofu just condiments. My vegitarian mother ate what was given and did not mention it. Our pinapple and chicken pannis had no pineapple. We are not local and am very disappointed!
Awesome service, great food. You have to try Pookies pancakes lol
If I could rate this place Zero stars I would. The worst customer Service Iโve ever received. I was with a party of 4 and our waiter was absolutely rude and had a complete attitude. Even when trying to place our order it was complete attitude. I will never attend this place again. And side note her name was jai. African American woman the piercing on under her eye.
The food was subpar and so was the service. However, I do like that they have plenty of vegetarian options. If youre a coffee lover, you may also enjoy it here.
I had the biscuits and gravy. They were not very good, tbh. The biscuits were very dense and chewy which made the whole thing difficult to enjoy. Coffee was good though.
Food was awful. Staff was not friendly
Great coffee and friendly staff. Large menu
Cool place to lunch. I met my family there for a little lunchtime meet up. Coffee was great. They make thier own ranch, which is very important to me. Wait time on drinks and food was a little long but I dont mind to wait for good food.
Not impressed and not retuning. Waffle was slightly sour maple syrup wasnt that good. Chicken couldve been seasoned more and cooked less and the funky salmon needed more salmon and cream cheese and lose the cucumbers and replace them with capers
Super breakfast stop! Eggs Benedict and Rachels wrap were terrific and staff was friendly and hard-working.
Poor quality dishes. Ordered 4 dishes and waited more than 25 minutes. All fries (French fries and chicken on the waffle) was almost black-color and burned out, might be cooked in poor/out-timed oil), and burger looks good but served in cold-out. Coffee taste of Latte was good only.
The atmosphere is great the chic N waffles were amazing service was fast and my server Karen was so nice and attentive will definitely be back!
The food was a tad bland, items were forgotten... then rushed out cold. How does one mess up breakfast? The servers were pleasant, perhaps understaffed. The best part was the fresh squeezed oj.

Had to attend a friends small wedding and happened to be in the area. The place looked cute so we went in. Absolutely the best meal we had while in area. I recommend to everyone, you can tell making their customers happy is their main priority!
My most favorite coffee shop in Memphis. Its got really good coffee and its good is absolutely delicious.
Very long wait, food was overpriced and not tasty. Hard biscuits, terrible grits . I will try the other location. I was really hoping for a better experience.
My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to eating here. We waited 30 min for a table, which is ok because that happens everywhere. But once we got seated outside, we waited another 20 minutes for our waitress (with the purple eyeshadow, long hair in a ponytail, slender body) to come to our table and she brought some water, as well as took our order. I asked for a straw, which she never brought. I finally asked one of the waiters that walked by us several times, who appeared annoyed by me stopping him. We waited a considerable time for our food, which again, Iโm fine withโmy boyfriend and I eat out often and understand that many factors contribute to the timing of seating and receiving our food. But not one time did our waitress come by to refill our water nor either of the other two waiter/waitress that walked by us several times. When we finally got our food, we had no silverware/plasticware which wasnโt a huge deal because we both had sandwiches. However, the sandwiches were very messy and we didnโt have any napkins at all. I finally stopped the male waiter again, who once again appeared very annoyed that I stopped him, and asked for some napkins. Considerable time passed before he brought anyโand he brought ONE napkin. Literally, one napkin. During that time, I was able to stop our assigned waitress to ask for napkins, who also took a long time to bring some; we were almost done eating by that time. Earlier during our dining experience, we had decided to order some of the specialty coffee drinks after we ate and was very much looking forward to that treat but by this time we knew that was not going to happen. Now, during our visit, our waitress (and the other waitress/waiter) passed by us several times but walked by so fast, it was hard to notify them of anything. At one point, our assigned waitress stayed at another table and talked/laughed with the guests for quite some timeโshe even sat the water pitcher on their table right beside one of the guests and LEFT IT THERE unattended as she walked inside the building to do something. We got done eating and for 30 minutes, no one came by with our ticket, even though we sat our debit card on the table where it could be noticed (you knowโuniversal sign for โIโm ready for my ticketโ). We finally walked inside to pay our bill at the register. The woman at the register literally would not take our money and said sheโd send our waitress outside to us. We went back out to our table for another 15 minutes and no one came to us. At this point, my boyfriend took enough cash that we knew would cover our bill inside the cafe and handed it straight to our waitress, then we left. The food was decent (we probably wouldโve enjoyed the food even more had we not experienced such terrible service). The ground on the outside dining area was very messyโmasks, crayons, etc. all over the ground. A waitress was cleaning a table from the guests that left before us and POURED THEIR REMAINING WATER INTO THE PLANT DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. Itโs possible that wouldnโt have bothered me in normal circumstances but the combined circumstances of this experience made that particular act very appalling to me.I absolutely love leaving good reviews about my dining experiences and rarely ever have a reason to leave a bad review. In fact, even when I encounter not-so-great service, a big tip is left and I donโt feel the need to leave a bad review. But the service here was so bad I couldnโt NOT leave a review about our experience.
They have oat milk. My fiance loves oat milk in her coffee. Therefore, this is where I get her coffee.
They r nasty ash now ๐คข๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎfound hairs 3 times in food the last few months and everytime I leave Now I feel terrible.today was the last time I try That. Coffee was fire tho
