One of the best Barnes & Noble Ive been to. Makes me miss the one in Jonesboro Arkansas even more. They have an amazing selection of toys and books in the kids section.

Cafe staff needs better attitude. Just went there today and Devon was the only one working the counter. He had an attitude like he didn’t want to be bothered. And I don’t go to the cafe for Starbucks often so I didn’t know they didn’t take rewards off the app instead of just informing me he snapped at me and said we don’t take those gift cards. It wasn’t even a gift card it was just my app to scan for rewards points. I get it people are tired and have mental tolls, but I didn’t make you apply for this job you volunteered your time because you applied on your own free will. Just keep that in mind next time you have a bad attitude with customers Devon. Have a great day tho!

I gave an employee a compliment saying she was pretty, then her name is Monique began to say that that’s not a compliment, I see beauty in all shapes and sizes I was just giving a compliment then she didn’t give good customer service at the checkout and had someone standing there for five minute before they left, I’ve never seen this lady before but I will not return to this store, I manage my own company and strongly encourage nice customer service and being kind to people, this lady did not

This store was a breath of fresh book smell. You know that smell that gives you a tingle in your nose, when you crack open a brand new literary masterpiece (or a book that just wants to be). The rush of energy that ignited my soul through my fingertips as they danced across the spines of each book that peaked my interests fed a craving in my soul I didnt know existed. Long sentence yes, but its been a long year of just ordering books off line and audio books. The store has a different layout from what I remember, but the flow of things felt good. Ultimately, I needed assistance and was able to grab the attention of a clerk, after wondering a bit. Got my book, and checked out with a smile on my face. Thanks for great service and the welcome back into the real world! 😀

Mens bathroom does not have a baby changing station even though it says it does on the door. Dont know about the womans bathroom since I cant go in there. Put a baby changing station in the mens room please and Ill come back

What can I say? Its a bookstore. They have a good selection in order what you want and have it shipped to your house if its not in the store. Plus they have an excellent peanut butter peanut butter cup cookie and the cafe.

With so much on line I almost forgot how to act in a great bookstore and the benefits of one.

Clean, quiet, and with a full inventory of reading material. The lady who checked us out was very polite, and even shared a few jokes with us making everyone smike.

Dont like the way they changed the store

Such a great store and good selection. Employees great...manager was NOT. Apparently all chairs had been taken out of the store (without our knowledge) and I was seated on the floor reading deciding on which of the $75 in books I bought that day. Manager comes over and tersely informs us there is no seating and that’s why we took out all the chairs (like we knew). Totally embarrassed my wife. We comply and get up right away and continue shopping only to hear the intercom come on in a few minutes telling everyone about the “no seating” and basically calling us out publicly. I rarely write a review this direct as I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Humiliating customers that spend $100 in 2 days is poor judgment. It’s sad because the store was so great and we enjoyed shopping so much. After the incident we felt the manager hovered over us like we were shoplifters when we just wanted to enjoy the store. Common courtesy is all that was needed in this situation. Even after this incident I highly recommend this store...I hope this review causes some reflection on the customer service from management.

Store was clean, well organized and the selection in each genre has greatly improved. Not too crowded. And staff pretty much let me browse without bugging me every ten seconds. One drawback. I bought a hardback book and a desk calendar. So why did I have to ask for a bag? Why wasnt that a given? It isnt 2025 yet. Plastic bags are still being made. So until then, give us a bag.

I have generally had positive experiences at this store. However, today I was asked by management to stop sitting on the floor when I was trying to pick out which books to buy from a bottom shelf. I was so embarrassed and didn’t understand why management would care if I was sitting on the floor. I have osteoarthritis and it physically hurts me to bend down to see the bottom shelf. She never informed me that any chairs had been taken out or explained that it was due to coronavirus. I only figured it out by reading the review below me. I intended to purchase books, but after that experience, I decided I would not be purchasing books for the time being. Much like the review below me, I hope that this causes management to rethink their policies or better explain if they do ask someone to move. After all, what kind of coronavirus spread will occur from someone sitting on the floor? I hate going back to buying books online from large companies but this has pushed me over the edge.

The clerk who was helping me pick out books for a 7 year old boy and knew what was popular and what he would most likely like. I was impressed. The boy loved the book.

Bad experience at their Cafe, older starbucks barista was incredibly rude and not helpful. Did not want to service us as she just took to order in front of us. Literally said she did not have anything to serve us not even hot water for tea.We are young and have worked in service and being nice doesnt cost you anything. Will not be going back.

Of course Barnes and Noble is a little expensive for books. However its the best place to ever go for anything educational and just for fun in terms of reading and a few games and such. I love having my membership. It saves me a lot of money and its so cheap to keep. I just love this place. Ill literally spend all day here if I have the time.

Been spending money here for years. There was a damaged sign edition book I wanted. They would not let me switch the damage book cover with a non sign edition even though they were the same price $36.00. I’m a member plus I’ve spent over $1000 here in 2 years. Books are over priced here anyway. You can get new books $7 to $8 cheaper at alibris.com. Amazon is also cheaper. Plus I’m tired of this company pushing their liberal views. To hell with this store.

Urgently needed a print copy of this weeks edition of The Economist and Barnes & Noble had it in stock, saving me the cost of waiting for one in the mail. Traffic was low but the store was well arranged and seemed well stocked. Highly recommended.

I love going here but the employees are rude. Tried to get some help for 20 minutes before i finally got some and they need to hire more mature people in the Starbucks instead of giggling little girls.

During this pandemic, had to do all my holiday shopping online and did this with Barnes & Noble with curbside pickup in Bartlett, TN. Wrapped gifts and sent out since family could not be together because of COVID. Order picked up had no printed store receipt, no packing slip and no return label in the event my gifts needed to be exchanged. Called local store AND called corporate and was told by both that I would have to get the gift item back from the recipient and bring to the store and return it and then turn around and buy it again and then REQUEST a gift receipt in order to get one for the purchase. How in Gods name is that a good store policy and how much expense and inconvenience is a person forced to endure just to have a gift exchanged. Why could a gift receipt not be printed from the original e-mail barcoded receipt? That bar code would show what was purchased, would it not?I have been a B & N consumer for many, many, many years and I have never been treated this way and during these difficult times of not being able to go to a store to speak to customer service has made me rethink my loyalty when spending what little money I have to spend on nonessential items. I will let my friends and family know of this experience and I will no longer recommend B & N and this hurts because I have loved shopping there.

This place is dangerous - to my wallet. I have 3 children who each go nuts for a good book. We have a road trip coming up and BN didnt fail us. We left happy as were my rewards on my credit card! We love this store :)

We go here all the time for books and coffee. We can always find something to read and the coffee is consistently good. Not to mention the cookies. The staff is always friendly and helpful which makes it a pleasure to visit this site. There is always a great hard cover book that you can pick up for under $10 usually $6.98 which is great for a budget. I would highly recommend checking them out. Oh and if you get the $25 a year member card you can get free shipping on online orders which is great for Christmas gifts across country.

This is usually my go to place for books, but today that changed. I was there to pick up a book, but first wanted to look around. I then found a book that I had looked up to also pick up in store, but online it stated the book was not located at any store locally. It was listed online as $15, too. So while looking around I found the book, that was listed out of area. I took it to the cashier, asked about the price, and was told it was regular priced. I showed the cashier my phone with it online and she became flustered and rude. She asked another associate, who just stated in an aggressive manner that it was not the same book and she didnt care what it was online, if I wanted that price should order online. I still have not insulted, cursed, or inappropriate to either of them. I just picked up my purchased book and left. While in my car I tried to find another book online with that title, but the only book that came up was the same $15 book. So I called Barnes and Noble customer service and was on hold, so I decided to get a picture of the the different number. Again I never raised my voice, made any type of comment, just asked to see the book. Another associate said she looked it up and it was a different book, and it should be listed first. So while she tried to prove her point, she became very short and rude. I just stood there no saying anything while she was trying to show me wrong, the other rude associate told me I needed to leave the store. The associate who was trying to prove me wrong said nothing, like I was just standing there for nothing. It was a very unprofessional, unpleasant situation. There is a right way to treat people, with respect and courtesy. I did absolutely nothing to be treated that way. Other customers were not aware there was any sort of problem on my end. But this has ended my relationship with the Germantown Parkway location. I hope it wasnt racial, but I dont know. I have worked in retail and with people over half my life, and still work with people, but I always try to remain calm and professional. This just didnt happen today, and its not personal just business

What a Very Great place to go. If you are looking for a book, they will have it or order it. I could sit in there literally for many hrs. You can get a drink and or food from Starbucks inside. You can find a Quiet Corner and just sit and read. It Quiet Heaven. Please visit, You should Love it !!

My boyfriend and I went to barnes and noble so I can i purchase some books about the heart for my research paper for nursing school. As we looking for books, my boyfriend a diabetic took a seat on the floor, he felt his blood sugar drop. A lady storms out the back stating that he could not sit there and he had to wait outside before knowing what was going on. At the moment he was being racial profiled because he was a black male and did not fit in her eyes. I have never been so upset and shook up in my life the way we were treated. Later I discovered the lady that told him to get out was the manager herself Lindsey, I am so disgusted. The front desk staff was wondering and apologized multiple times for their manager behavior.

Ive gotten almost all of my books ever from this place. I have whole SERIES from this place. I grew up pretty much in this store. I love it. Its a great way to get stuff for school, such as practice books, its got books for theatre, it has games, you name it, it probably has it. And trust me, all of my books from there have a place in my heart. The check out ladies and men are so polite and make sure all of my books are together, and they make sure they take great care in their own staff and other customers. Overall fantastic place❤

As a frequent customer, I would actually rate the store 5 except the merchandise is a bit pricey and the after christmas discounts were minimal.Its a 5 for selection of books, magazines, calendars, games, gifts for all ages. This is a great place to find all your reading materials. I went in for one title and I stayed for two hours gazing at all they had to offer. Such well designed displays are enchanting. Incredibly helpful staff always ready to help. I was a like a kid in a toy store!! So much to see in such a pleasant atmosphere.

Great selection of books forget buying online when you can have the smell of all those books. Great customer service they will help you find whatever you need. Also it doesnt hurt that they have a Starbucks with a bakery as well. Ample seating in the Cafe to read, write, or even draw. Lets make sure bookstores are always there dont buy online when you could have a great experience in store.
