The music was pretty good. I love to see people following their dreams to become more. The coffee was good. As for the food... The food was surprising. It is a very good place for healthy food, but personally I felt that it was a bit bland. I felt like I didnt have much to choose from for food and everything is served cold. Otherwise the place is great and the company is nice.

Still has the best music teachers in town or anywhere! Absolutely world class and not a better place to wait while your friend or loved one is having their lesson. Enjoy a hot or cold coffee drink, beer or wine along with excellent food.

This is no longer a music store for purchasing equipment. I went a few months ago and couldn’t even get guitar strings. But! The coffee and wine bar is really fun and live comedy and music make it a great spot for dates, and just to hang out. Pretty good food too.

Florida discount specializes in Brevard finest local musicians jamming out from Rock to blues and funk. Also Wednesday night is comedy night definitely a fun place to go chill out drink some coffee tea or a beer and smoking is available outside.I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to go out and have a good time and watch something that is disappearing awesome live entertainment.

This has turned into a local gem. Its evolving all the time. The light menu is well done. Good beer and wine selection, along with great coffee drinks. The music is,always great. A very nice place to meet friends.

First of all, best Melbourne hangout spot on weeknights. Monday is funk jam night. Friendly staff and helpful. My girlfriend bought a 5-string bass for a great price, but had some solder joints broken. Nathan repaired the wiring at no charge to us and he has perfect hair. Highly recommend this store for good atmosphere, good food, and many other reasons...

Its now called Open Mikes. We love this place! Great food, great atmosphere. Weve been to the Swing Dance nights which were tons of fun, and our kids take music lessons here, so we come in the afternoon to have coffee, smoothies, and some food.

Ive been to this place just twice but it was a great experience both times! The food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere on each day was different yet welcoming. This has become one of my new favorite spots!

Good, intimate music venue. Light snacks, salad, beverages with and without alcohol for lunch and dinner. Good place to take someone to get to know them. Easy for conversations. Miss the paninis.

I like to call this place The Improv with deck chairs. By day, its a music store. By night, its the hippest comedic hangout in Melbourne. As a comedian, I see a lot of different rooms with a lot of different vibes. This one has a very enthusiastic crowd, and the shows are always better for it. This is a terrific place to relax with your friends and really have a good time.

Now known as Open Mikes Coffee Bar. Interesting coffee, good eating. I like the black bean salsa and chips. 1st Tuesday of the month is East Coast swing night with Julian and the Space Coast Big Band led by Joel Greenblatt.

FDM definitely changed since the last time I was in there and their on hand selection is not as full as I remembered it. But with that being said, the service was great and they had exactly what I needed. The atmosphere seemed to be mellow and laid back. I heard many rumors of their changed and Not being a music store anymore, and these are false. They still are a music store, but with an environment set for budding musicians alike. As the times change sometimes business must change to survive and I believe they have done just that.Thank you for the great service with the smile, I will return.

SJ CD release was great. The owner donated the state for a fundraiser concert, beer was good, for was good. Great place to have a drink and hang out with friends.

Ive been playing guitar for a few years and I love to shop at other big stores in Orlando like Sam Ash so I was very disappointed when I went to this store to buy a guitar cable. No one offered to help me while I browsed the store. I asked if they had any headphones and they just said no and didnt offer any other information. I dont know how this place stays in business but Ill never go there again. Now I usually buy my gear online or Ill go to Marion Music for small purchases.

I took my Jackson V performer to be re-strung a few weeks ago and when I got it back and took it home I noticed 2 new cracks in the back. When I bought it back the tech didnt know who worked on it or anything and said it looked like it was dropped. I took the guitar to a Jackson dealer and they said it looked like they hung it on a wall holder and fell. FDM was highly recommended since I just moved here and didnt know any local music stores. I told them Im not a tech so that is why I also came here and the 2 employees said they werent techs either and asked if I wanted to leave my guitar so they can look at it but I figured that they did enough damage so I said no and took it to a real guitar shop. I am not a professional musician but I would not recommend them to work on any instrument when they have no knowledge of what they are doingAaron Ogden.

Ive had the pleasure to be in a lot of music stores around the world, some are bad, I mean really bad. Dirty and dusty, guitars laying on the floor. FDM seems to take pride in its displays and keeps it clean. Its a nice place and those places are hard to come by.

Years ago it was the best music store in Brevard, but now it is more of a café then a music store. They have a very narrow selection of all musical instruments, cords, gear... Brevard needs a good music store again.

Website sais they are open til 10. Clearly they close before sun goes down. THEY DO NOT HAVE EQUIPMENT. I drove an hour to this place to purchase a gigging set up and then have a drink and hang for the music. ALOT of cash in my pocket and many many internet searches led me to believe this place was where I could purchase my rig. I get there and it is a very cool bar/restaurant/live music establishment... but the musical retail area was closed down. After showing my disappointment and being offered a menu, I asked about the store that is supposed to be open til 10... was informed that there is no more store. So folks... I guess we have a cool live music place . With picks or straps for sale. Guess the internet will have to have my money.

Hello, as owner of Florida Discount Music I would like to let everyone know that due to the state of our economy and our Industry in general, we have been downsizing our musical inventory and focusing more on small goods and accessories. About three and half years ago we put a coffee bar inside of our store called Open Mikes it has grown and is now the forefront of our business. We have a full kitchen, we roast our own organic fair trade coffee in house, and we feature nightly entertainment. Being in the musical retail industry for over 45 years, Florida discount music has been a staple in the Brevard county music scene. I personally have been In Brevard county for over 30 years and I love this town very much, its my home. My wife and I have owned the store since December 10th 2003. It has gone through many changes over the years and we are constantly trying to stay innovative as well as trying to be a viable business. The days of trying to stock a bunch of inventory in the hopes that someone will come in and buy it are over for us, at least for now. In this Internet world we live in it is very very hard for mom-and-pop retail stores to compete. We love you Brevard:-)

Great place to get coffee and food.

I take lessons here personally, and they really seem like they care about you. The prices are a lot better than other stores and I wouldnt go anywhere else for my music needs.

We LOVE this town and we love what we do. Do we ever make mistakes? Absolutely yes!! But after reading the negative Google reviews. I felt i needed to respond. I really dont want anyone feeling uncomfortable when walking in FDM. There was at one point that we had a few very unhappy people working here, that didnt have the best attitudes. But our staff now is amazingly friendly:-) Also we have been busy adding an organic coffee shop/wine bar/music venue located inside the store called Open MIkes!! A few years ago we had over 250 guitars and basss on the wall. But with the bad economy we simply could not keep up the inventory. And decided to take chance and put in Open MIkes.. We have been taking the last year to focus on that, and now its growing to a place we never expected. With a Funk Jam on Monday night, an all arts open mic on Tuesday night, Stand Up comedy on Wends night, Blues Jam on Thursday night, and our Friday Jazz Jam. Something for everyone:-) Now its time to put the focus back on FDM!! Still stocking all professionally represented products like Ibanez, Dean, Roland. BOSS, Peavey, as well as others. We are now turning our attention to accessories. Trying to keep in stock everyones strings, drum sticks and heads of choice. Mike@FDM
