Made appointment with them because this shop used to be so great. No longer. Was going to get fog lights installed with light bar, the guy said no problem. That evening I was told most maticuluos guy in middle of. I paid over 1000.00 just to get brakes and when I arrived they told me lights were too difficult. They did no lights at all. They lied on phone and overcharged for brakes and kept vehicle for 2 days with appointment. They do not wear masks at this business either. Will not recommend or return.

Ive used Ken scales multiple times and Ive never been disappointed. Always willing to answer questions, even just over the phone, and Ive always super appreciated recommendations when things are wrong outside of their wheelhouse of knowledge. Great guys!!

Ken scales Automotive has been perfect in the past I havent been back there in several years Monday I take my Bronco in for some work and Tuesday take my Nissan Juke in for some work I will be happy to give an update after that but so far I think they are a total thumbs up

RIP OFF!!!!! If you are looking for honesty and quality service, STAY AWAY from Ken Scales. They are only looking to make a quick buck, not concerned with customer service!!!!!I was referred to Ken Scales by a few people to look at the suspension in my Jeep due to rattling and also requested they check my brakes. When I called, they scheduled me for an 8:00 am appointment. I told them I suspected loose bolts. After 1 hour of inspection I was shown loose bolts in the front and rear suspension, just as I suspected. My Jeep was already up in the air. I was told they didnt have time to tighten the bolts (approximately 6 bolts) and that I would have to take it to Les Schwab. I was then told I owed $65.00 for the inspection... to do nothing... except confirm what I already knew... loose bolts... and send me to Les Schwab and again be charged.

Amazing service. They basically rebuilt our old Lincoln and have been awesome when dealing with towing companies.

This family ran business is as tight as all of their work. I have taken both of our vehicles in for repairs. Both times they determined the best option of repair and even let us know what else they saw that was needing attention. They dont pressure you into anything and do a great job and letting you know the issues. I would have no problem going back in the future or recommending them to friends.

I love Ken Scales..being a woman it is really easy to be manipulated by automotive repair shops.I took my car in for a steering column repair. Parts had been discontinued so they offered to look for salvage parts. My car is up and running for 1/3 the cost of going thru a dealership. I highly recommend Ken Scales especially for women. Highly recommend Ken Scale Automotive for their professionalism, friendly staff, and quality work. Ive taken one of my cars there twice and theyve always been fairly priced for their labor and parts. From my experiences they use OEM parts (if available) which will often run you more money but have less chance of failure (in most cases).If you need your vehicle worked on and are willing to pay a fair price without the risk of being ripped off I highly recommend Ken Scale Automotive.

I could not be happier with the timeliness, quality, and honesty of their work. They addressed my vehicle’s issue immediately once I told them I had a work meeting that was very important to me. Then, they repaired my vehicle in under the hour they’d predicted it would take and charged me less than $100. It was no minor issue, as the vehicle would stop running (in traffic!) with alarming regularity. Without question, they would be my first choice if I encounter other problems. (PS. On the phone, my vehicle’s dealership would have charged 3-4 times as much and not been able to provide a same-day, let alone same-hour, repair.)An addendum: The next day, they followed up on the work they had provided and even helped me process a credit and exchange with another business. I feel very confident in their expertise and very valued as a customer. They are certainly worth the stars and ratings that led me to them in the first place.

Jeff and his team worked diligently to diagnose and fix a very rare issue with my vehicle, requiring tedious research and great effort. They figured it out and my truck has been running better than ever. Been taking my vehicles here for the past 9 years and never once had a problem. It may seem a bit expensive but that’s what you get for great quality mechanic work. I’ve takin my 1990 F150, 1995 Tacoma, 1985 Toyota pickup and my 2002 dodge 1500. Every type of truck and year they’ve never had a problem diagnosing or fixing any problem I’ve had.

They dont ever push or upsell things that your car doesnt need. This alone, is so appreciated.They have very fair pricing and always get us in right away for repairs. We usually work with Mike, which is GREAT at his job. He is very knowledgeable and always calls us ahead to let us know what the problems are and how much it will cost before they do the work. No surprise totals, which is nice to be able to prepare for ahead of time. I havent done business here, but tonight when I was getting a rental car at enterprise (across the street), I watched one of the guys burning rubber in the parking lot in a beautiful white 60s corvette. They pulled the car right into the first bay in the garage after that. I sure hope they have good insurance if they treat customer cars like that.

I was traveling thru when my truck broke down. Ken Scales was able to work me into their busy Monday morning, replace a radiator hose and serpentine belt, check the rest of the engine for any other damage and get me on my way by 2:00 pm. All at a very reasonable price - they even arranged for the tow to their shop and got me a good deal on that.

They are SUPER fast here, but still do quality work. Ive been going here for YEARS now and have always been satisfied with their work and help.

Truck would not pass I and M so they started replacing parts. Put a on a new carburetor that it did not need and back and forth for I and M inspection. After alot of wasted money, time and frustration the I and M guy figured it out a cheap O2 sensor. The mechanic was guessing and replacing parts not diagnosing the problem good luck with this one.

Been taking vehicles here for over 20 years, but I am done. They replaced a starter last year and it was acting up. Brought it back to have it checked and they said it was a battery. I brought in a new one. They charged $120 hour shop rate to install a battery that I bought. Im done getting ripped off here. Take it to KB auto where the shop rate is half at $60 an hour!

Said problem was fixed, wasnt...they charge $111.00/hr rate, which seems high...would have gotten 4-5 stars if problem was fixed like they said. Guy at the front desk assured me the problem was fixed(water coming inside passenger floor). You wont have a problem with that again... the guy said.Next day it rained and was apparent that the problem was un-changed. I called them to see about what to do its hard...we could try again...it is what is... were some of the weak sounding explanations. The previous day they assured me it was fixed, next day all excuses. They wanted me to bring my vehicle back and charge me more $ at $111.00/hr. I asked how much it would cost and the guy replied well, time is money man, I dont really know. I thought this was a stupid remark.I have very little mechanical ability and spent 20 min on the internet, guessed the problem was water blowing in from the a/c drain, and fixed it myself in 5min with a piece of hose that cost $1.45.....dealing with this shop was a waste of My time and $$$ and for the amount they charge per hour, the fact that they assured me it was fixed (and totally wasnt), and combined with how it was obvious how my time/$ was NOT valued but theirs was made this a crappy experience.I gave 2 stars because the employee that drove the shuttle has been there for 14 years so maybe this shop is decent to their employees. I am not ever going there again however and hope this was a fluke and not what others that patron this business experience.***UPDATE*** 3/18/16 Response to Ken Scales responseI did call you a couple days or so after the repair. You were arrogant, un-sympathetic, (I was putting effort into being polite during the phone conversation)and I did not feel going back to your outfit was a good use of my resources, which turned out good because I got the opportunity solve the issue myself instead of paying the expert certified rate of $111.00/hr and hearing a bunch of BS assurances. I am seriously mechanically impaired and figured this issue out easily. This issue is apparently very common for this vehicle and takes a minute or 2 to fix. The words in your response are like the ones you spoke after you repaired my vehicle, nice, articulate, and.....void of substance. If you are reading this then you should just take your car to the dealership, they will likely charge you close to the same hourly rate. This Owner response is just this business trying turn this negative review into them being there for the customer or some crap.

The staff at Ken Scales Automotive is fast, efficient and know how to diagnose and fix a problem right the first time, at least thats the experience I have had when bringing in both trucks ive owned. If you need auto repair and you live in Southern Oregon Ken Scales should be your first call.
