Had a transmission go out on a 2001 Toyota Sequoia. I was referred By a business associate. I would recommend this this business to anyone looking to rebuild a transmission. They are very reasonably priced and the service is the best part. The owner John gave me his cell phone personally and Edgar was veryResponsive for any questions. I really appreciate the professionalism being in an industry where it means so much. I will be using certified transmissions for any of my future transmission problems with any of my vehicles and my company vehicles.

My car has been back to this shop three time since the initial transmission, and I have contacted the owner John to help resolve the issue before I left a review of my stressful experience. Im sharing my story to help others not experience what I did because there are probably so many better Transmission places to take your car. When I first brought my car to their shop for a consultation I was told that they could fix the issue. After they worked on my car it ran fine for about 4 months. I began having a similar feeling that my transmission was slipping so I had it towed to the shop to take a look at it. When it was there, I was told that it wasnt the transmission and that it was running fine. It ran fine for a couple days and began slipping again. I called the showed to get permission for me to take it to the dealership for a second opinion since they didnt believe it was the transmission. They gave me permission and after paying for the dealership to do a real diagnostic test it was concluded that it was my transmission.During this time period of bringing my car back the third time My car was there for three weeks, and I lost a lot of money taking Lyft to and from work during that time because they dont offer a rental car. After I got my car back I had to sent it back to the shop for the FOURTH time after only driving it for three weeks. During these time there was extremely poor communication of what was really going on. I was unable to go home for Thanksgiving and have ask the shop to help me understand the issue with my car and for some compensation for the money I have paid out-of-pocket. I have finally gotten my car back and neither N or my D light doesnt come on when I am in Drive or Neutral.Like I mentioned I tried to reach out multiple times to the owner via email and phone, and also asked the manager to get ahold of him. No response shows a huge lack of customer service on what I have experienced and the money I lost taking my car to the shop.

The transmission in our 2011 Chevy Silverado went out a couple weeks ago. My husband got into contact with this place and chose them as they included a tow in the price and promised a 3 day turn around. They had the truck a week, which I didn’t really get upset about it because they fixed it (I thought) and I was appreciative! After a week and $2760 my husband brought the truck home. I get in it the next morning and it stalled out leaving my neighborhood, almost got into an accident. So I pull into the next neighborhood as best as I could. Call hubs and he calls them, they say they’re sending a tow truck “right now”. After awhile of not hearing from the tow truck driver, hubs calls back and asks what’s up. They say their driver is doing a tow in Alpharetta so it will be a few HOURS. Hubs had to leave work and come get me because AAA is just as long of a wait. I follow him as he coasts the truck back to our neighborhood because I was in the middle of the road of a HOA neighborhood and had we waited for them, my truck would’ve been impounded somewhere else. They show up between 8 & 9 that night to get the truck. When hubs calls the next day they say they put the wrong torque converter in. 😒 So they had it another 6 days before I finally get it again. We’ve had it back 3 days and it’s still shifting pretty hard. We won’t take it back here though so wish us luck! And to top it all off, whoever got in it wiped oil all over the roof of the truck. Seriously, it looks like the titanic window scene. One of them looks like it happened from the back seat. It’s just very unprofessional and annoying and infuriating!

Please do not use this garage. We had a horrible experience. Their prices are cheaper for a reason. Terrible service even worse repair. Our transmission is worse than when we took it down. They also put about 500 miles while they had it. The inside of our van was trashed. Grease everywhere.

In 2016 after inspection, they said i needed a transmission rebuild, so they supposedly replace everything inside the transmission. A week later, I picked up my Dodge Ram truck, and half way home, it was having the same problem as before. It would not shift automatically into 3rd or Overdrive. I took it back, they checked it again, and replaced the wiring harness. That wasnt the problem either. They finally concluded it was the computer, so that was replaced and solved the problem. So, here we are 3-1/2 year later, the transmission had been leaking fluid for quite some time now, so I decided to take it somewhere else. They said it had the following leaks: Pump Seal, Pump O-ring, pump gasket, pump bolt seals, rear Xmission seal, Lever Seal, Filler Tube Seal, Pan Gasket, Neutral Safety Switch Seal, and Shifter Grommet, PLUS, there were 4 bolts missing on the cross member and 2 bolts missing on the Drive Shaft Support Bracket. There is no excuse for the missing bolts, and although it has been 3.5 years, those seals should have been replaced on the initial rebuild. The seals do not wear out in 3.5 years.I would not recommend this place. Pay a little more and save your time and aggrevation.

Most likely not the same person who ran the shop 14 years ago. My experience back then was a simple clutch disc replacement. It went out a month later. Took it back and told him it was closer to going out again, slipping. He said he would take it for a spin around the block. He comes back about 30 minutes later without my car and told me that it was several miles away and his employee picked him up. He also refused to pay for the tow truck to get it back to the shop after I told him that it was not safe to drive too far.I gave in and agreed to get it towed back because I just wanted it fixed. Took a week to get another simple disc installed. I went to go pick it up, it wouldnt go into gear. The mechanic didnt securely fasten a retaining clip. From looking at the reviews, I highly doubt that this place is run by the same person.

I have got to admit after reading the reviews on the Marietta location, I was very skeptical. However, the owner John was extremely fair, towed my car to his shop and got the job done right the first time. I took my car there in October took them a week to fix it. It is now the end of March and the transmission still works fine even after 15000 miles. Great Job and reasonable price guys! (John and Edgar)

Nissan Pathfinder was slipping a little bit and I needed some pricing on what it would take to rebuild the unit. I called about 5 different places but they sounded like they really knew what they were talking about. They gave me a ballpark range of what they thought the price may be plus fluid. I found them to be very reasonable and polite and my car was back in 3 days as promised. Very happy.

As a child I used to love coming here with my uncle/dad. He would be here all night fixing any car that he had to fix. The customers love his work and he was wonderful at giving customers the satisfaction that they needed. Wow! Its hard to believe its been over ten+ years now. his name was Lee Dunn but his boss and coworkers called him by his nickname Bone. I wonder if the manager would read this message and remember me. I was that little chocolate girl that used to all ways walk around the shop and eat candy and drink sodas...lol I remember Daniel and Edgar wow you guys are still at this shop. MEMORIES.

When my car broke down I went to another shop and they said it was my transmission, so I wanted another price quote and took it here to Certified Transmissions, the Manager Edgar was very friendly and he took my car and said I did not need a new Transmission for thousands of dollars like the other shop said I needed but a simple fix, I appreciate the honesty and the savings of thousands of dollars that they saved my family. I have recommended several of my friends here and they all have had 5 star expierences. Ask for Edgar the Manager! Thank you Certified Transmissions & Edgar for your honesty!

Dont trust this place. Theyre crooks. Said my wifes car needed a transmission rebuild. We dropped the car off at 5pm on Wednesday and were told it was ready at 11am the next day. Now I know that they didnt work all through the night and I know they cant rebuild a transmission in a couple hours. So, it has to be a simple repair but cost us 1,400.00. These guys cant be trusted.

I took my 1965 mustang to them in April. It took them seven times to rebuild it. It is still not right it’s leaking all over the place not shifting right they bent the fly wheel. Gave me a hard time about it. Very disappointed. This is not the first time that they have screwed me over. They screwed me over 16 years ago on another car.

Well, it took a little longer than I had expected to get my truck back and I became impatient and suspicious while waiting. But, after it was all said and done, they had a few problems figuring out the problem, but they kept at it until the problem was resolved. They went out of there way to provide quality, professional service for my old red dodge ram truck, at a reasonable cost. It now runs great with no problems and pulls like a champ. Thank you Certified Transmissions.

I have a 96 Ford Explorer whos transmission finally gave in. It was not going in reverse and was practically stuck in my driveway. I would recommend them.

In May of 2017 I had them replaced or do me a rebuild transmission, after 3 attempt my transmission problem was not fixed, on the last attempt my car was left at the repair with my key in my gas tank upon starting my car I noticed that my service Brake system lights was on and the car was having the same trouble that it was having from the start, I called the shop to inform them about what was going on and I was told by the owner he would get back with me never did after that they stopped answering my calls or replying to my text messages now September of 2017 that same month I took my vehicle to Steve Raymans Dealership and was told I still had aTransmission code that was not repaired. My car went out in October of 2017 and sat til March of 2018 now November of 2018 I still have to put Transmissions fluid in my car every other day and it continues to stall out in Traffic. And of course the so called warranty went out... Do not Go to these ppl.

Truck went in with a transmission issue of not engaging reverse. Two weeks later the truck came out, only to go back in! When in gauged into gear the truck would stall out. Took it back to the transmission shop. Was told to come get the truck last Thursday which was the 21st of September. They went to take it off the lift and reverse would not engage again! Now it has been three and a half almost 4 weeks and as of today Monday September 25th the truck is still not finished! Instead of putting a brand new reverse pump into the transmission they did a rebuild one which turned around and broke again anyways! Now had to wait an extra 3 days 4 days for new reverse pump to come in and be installed told they would be Monday afternoon when the truck could be picked up, it is now Monday afternoon and truck cannot be picked up till tomorrow

Not going to trash these guys and say they are bad mechanics because it never got to the part to find out. Took my Gmc Sonoma in on monday as I blew a trans line. The guy said they would have it fixed by close. 5 oclock I called and they said they hadnt got to it and would get to it first thing in the morning. Well morning came and at 3pm I called and they still havent gotten to it. I picked the truck up. This is ridiculous, I would have been okay with them keeping it longer. But they should have made contact with me as any reputable business should. Cars are expensive and I wanna knwo were mine is and why its there ect ect ect. Case in point. If you do business with them wait for it, if you leave it they may call you a week later and tell you they are finally getting to it. Bad business. Step up your customer service boys.

Do Not be a VICTIM - from this shop!---------------------------------------------I had a BMW 3series transmission rebuilt from this shop, at first they told me that theyll get it fix on a certain date(s) - as soon as they cash my money - took them so long to fix it and had to call/follow-up so many times and with soo many promised dates that the car will be ready (what a pain!). And then, when it was just about to end the warranty of the rebuilt transmission, a transmission error code posted about a electronic converter failing. They had to charge me again nearly ($700+) for their sloppy work. And then, after 2 months that the error code was fix - the starter failed with extreme cranking noise. BMW service shop found out that starter was poorly fitted in the case from the last repair (BMW Service Findings; Flywheel - Replace, DAMAGED DUE TO STARTER NOT BEING INSTALLED PROPERLY, FOUND BOLTS TO START LOOSE AND MANGLED). Costing me nearly 3K($) to fix all of the transmission/starter repair that this shop was responsible for, I tried contacting this shop about this transmission/starter issue and even emailing to them the repair quote from the BMW service shop, all they can offer are ran around -they will not take responsibility of the sloppy work that damaged parts from improper installation/loose starter assy - (damaging the flywheel, starter, bolts, thread-etc) that was done from this shop.

I brought my mothers car (2001 Acura CL) to Certified Transmissions after a referral from my trusted mechanic. There were a few bumps in the road on the repair but at every interval we received a call with an updated timeline on when the car would be finished & alternatives on what could be done at various price points. We were also VERY pleased to have the owner, John, personally handle the repair & was FANTASTIC in offering cost-cutting solutions when it became evident that the transmission would need to go from being repaired to being replaced (which we had already been told by another shop). A few days after the transmission replacement, a sensor light came on & it too needed to be replaced (after googling it we found that this is a very common issue in Acuras that have had trannys replaced). John had us bring the car back in & replaced the sensor free of charge & in 1 day!!! Cant say enough how impressed I was with the service & ownership, would highly recommend this shop!!! Thanks John!

My experience with Edgar Cintron, Manager Certified Transmission has been great. My car was diagnosed as having transmission issues by other mechanics which I was scpetical about. I took my car to Edgar. He took his time to drive tha car and used his scanning tools to determine that it was most likely an engine issue than the transmission. He did not charge for his services. Later on I realised it was a sensor issue and got fixed for less than $150. Thanks.
