Really fun and friendly people! Remember to bring your mask ;)
5 Star visit to St Clair Eye Center on Timberlake Road. I agree, Dr. Rozelle is the best! Very thorough in taking time to explain everything and explain any concerns. Nice staff. Highly recommend.
I always have a wonderful experience here. Everyone is so nice. Dr. Rozelle is extremely thorough and always takes time and great care to explain things. I never feel rushed. He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable. Shelly, who works with frames and lenses is so pleasant and helpful. She makes you feel like family.
This place has now been changed to My Eye Dr. I liked it before as St. Clair Eye Care. My Eye Dr. did not return a phone call regarding setting up an appointment. After giving them a week I finally called them to try to make an appointment for my daughter and they can not get her in till next month. I expressed concerns for her eyes bothering her significantly. On another occasion, when I had called to purchase contacts the girl at the front counter was so rude I asked to speak to the office manager.
I received my prescription lenses through a different company but was prescribed by St Claire through a eye exam and once I received my lenses, they simply did not help my eyesight but almost seemed to make it worse. The lens company was cleared of any mishap but once I informed St Clares that there might have been a mistake regarding my eyesight and the lenses they prescribed, I got nothing but a run around and informing me they would call me in a few days. A few days go by and no call from them, so I call them just to get another run around and to inform me that someone will be calling me back by the end of the day. It is very unfortunate I have heard good things about St Claire Eye Care and would have liked them to live up to the high standard.
There was a time I would have recommended this place, Dr. V. Is a great guy but I would stay as far away as I can now unless you want to get lied to & very deceitful, was told when I ordered my glasses they had a year warranty when I came back with a problem oh no you have no warranty you have to pay for the fixing so they will not see me back in here again. Will let everyone I come across know how deceitful they are.
The staff is hightly competent and quite friendly. Everyone knows what they are doing and everyone seems to be happy working there. Dr. St. Clair himself is a very kind gentleman who is never in a hurry, never stressed, and happy to explain your eye problems in detail, in good plain language. He is always a pleasure to visit with, one who is an expert in his field, but meets you as a peer and friend.
I would love to have said it was excellent until I had to call them about one of my lenses not helping. I am far sighted in one eye and near sighted in the other. I need to be able to see properly from both lenses and I was given the BS logic that the eyes must work together and that the other eye will compensate for the one I am still having trouble seeing with, even in the glasses that they made. No one should have to only see half way, but they dont feel that it is necessary to correct it. Looks like I will have to pay more money to have the lens fixed since they wont do it.
I called initially to get pricing to change eye care for my family. Everything went smooth through the appointment process. Then they billed a separate amount, which was over the amount I got charged elsewhere (why move to a new doctor if I have to pay more?). I called to ask about the amount and I was told they dont give out that information up front (except they did). After paying what they asked I received another bill for the family. Some of the charges were for things we said we did not need. When I finally settled on what I would pay I decided I would not return. After they fought me on the charges and I paid them......I got a refund check in the mail for over payment (victory). The billing department needs some work. Also, in the process we had to drive across town to another one of their locations to continue the eye care process; when we got there they tried to charge us again for something that was already paid for. Only after challenging them that we had paid at the other location did they investigate and say ok. Initially they were convinced we needed to pay.
Replaced frames for me for free when a hinge broke on my glasses months after I purchased them. The frame had been discontinued but the gentleman who assisted me quickly loaded my lenses in the replacement frame for no fee. Two years later, they are holding up well.I had an excellent experience with eye exam and frame selection and fitting. Very clean and modern office with friendly staff.
Love the doctor and the people that fit you, but the front desk absolutely not! When I made the appointment they told me since it was my yearly eye exam my insurance would cover it.I told them it was for contacts and the lady said they would not charge me anything. I stressed the fact that I do not have money to pay for this appointment and she said it was free, I would even go home with a sample pair of contacts. when I get to the checkout the lady said that it was $49 for the contact fitting fee I told the lady thats not what I was told and she said well we need those contacts you have in your eyes back. So I literally had to take my contacts that they give me out and leave. I was absolutely mortified.
In general, the staff are nice and helpful. I have been going there about 8 years and always get good eye subscriptions. However, both my wife and I have received defective frames and had to endure time without useful ness of the glasses. It appears the company they order is lacking in quality control.
I have been taking my daughter to St. Clair on Timberlake Road for five years. I have always had a pleasant experience with scheduling and the office visit. Staff was not hesitant to help repair glasses when she broke them. Overall great experience.
Previous experiences with Walmart, Americas Best etc have been less than satisfactory. Decided to spend a little more, use a local provider and see if the experience is different. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. I got a much more thorough exam than ever before, a doctor who wasnt in a hurry and who really understands the challenges of middle aged eyes, and glasses and contacts that have me seeing much better than the chains provided. Very pleased. Theyre your eyes, dont go cheap.
Good thorough exam, then they fit me for contacts. When you do anything with contacts here you deal with Kay, and shes awesome. Always nice and smiling, and knows her stuff. She gave me a trial pair and some solution, and I told her a couple weeks that they werent quite right (drying out at the end of the day and could be more comfortable). So she ordered me another pair, and gave me different solution too. This time it was great; I honestly did not know contacts could be this comfortable. When it was time to actually order, their prices were competitive with discount places on the internet. Highly recommend.
My experience with the staff, Dr. were excellent and I feel the eye care is absolutely amazing. However, this is my 3rd time ordering new lenses and frames and again, the wait time to get your new glasses is simply too long. Its been 3 weeks now and I still dont have my glasses. This is a deal breaker for me. I paid over $800 out of pocket so you know my insurance company paid just as much or more. I would agree to a 2 week turn around time but anything more than that, is uncalled for. Next year, I will be going elsewhere even if just to order my glasses through another vendor with demonstrated quicker service. When I called to check on my order no clear answer as to why the long wait time. Thats suspicious. They think its because they have not received the frame yet. For which pair? Can I pick up 1 pair now and or get the other later? Did you forget to order both pair? The rep could not answer questions nor help me. I hate to move my business but 3 years in row - just isnt good. I hope someone looks at the process and improves it. Too bad, I will never know.
Great experience, everyone was friendly and professional. This was my 2nd annual eye exam with them. They were running on time both times and minimized my wait time. Seems to be a very efficient office, like the reminders sent out via text for appointment reminders and to pick up glasses.
Dr. V was friendly and very knowledgeable. He made sure all of my questions were answered before my appointment ended. I didnt feel rushed by him or the eyewear specialists at all during my visit. I would recommend to my friends.
I am here now with my severe disabled son who suffers severe autism. I got lost finding the place. My daughter had an appointment 15 minutes before me. I was scheduled for 2pm, but arrived at 2:19. They have a policy that they cannot take you if you are over 15 miutes late, but there was no one else in the WAITING ROOM. I explained to them that I got lost. They didnt care--Insensitive and Inflexible. They offered me a 3:45pm same day appointment. I hesitated at first because that meant my child with severe autism was going to be disruptive, loud, and not happy if I was going to have to wait almost 1 1/2 hours before I could be seen. My daughter finished her appointment and gave him her phone to calm him down while he waited with me. Make note the next patients appointment was not until 3:00 pm. So in my opinion there was enough time that I could have been seen. Needless to say I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. IT IS FORTUNATE FOR THEM THAT I REALLY NEEDED TO BE SEEN TODAY!!!PATIENT BEWARE!!! I have 12 people in my household they will not be making future appointments to go here either.
Tried to give me someone elses glasses for one of my daughters, doesnt notify when glasses are in, my other daughters lenses wasnt shaved (as ordered and standard), and my sons wont hold shape.. The prescriptions are good but the glasses are not great.
Many thanks to Robbie for his great customer service. Highly recommended.
Very poor service as of recently. I attribute this to new office staff being very RUDE in a POLITE way. I received my card letting me know it was time for my eye exam a few months early. Not knowing it was a few months early I made my apt. After the exam not before, I was told that it was to soon and my insurance would not cover it. I thought it all was all worked out and paid what they told me to. I then received a letter letting me know I owed another $60. I called and got that worked out. I at this point am very frustrated due to another event with one of the front counter staff and my eye doctor not calling me back over a pressing eye matter. I inform them that I would like a copy of my current prescription and what ever a new doctor would need to become a new patient at another office. I was told that the doctor would not be in to sign off on it till Wednesday. I explained to the young lady that I had a pressing eye matter that needed to be taken care of ASAP could anyone else release that info. She said What do you need to be seen for? I explained and the response was..... I will fax it Wednesday. So for anyone thinking about this office. They will hold YOUR records hostage from you. They will try and get you to come in early so they can bill you. They are RUDE in a POLITE way. This place seems like it cares nothing for its patients and has become a cash engine. I understand it is a business and every story has two sides. I am simply sharing mine in a public forum.Update 3-26-15I will not go into all the details. I thought we had the issue all taken care of. The young lady called me and worked it all out and I was happy with the outcome. I then decided to let it go and give them another chance. I went back to the office to try and finalize my contacts and glasses. Little did I know this was just a chance for that doctor to run his mouth to me about my Google Review. He then told he was discharging me which I was fine with. I asked for my records upon leaving and he informed me he has 21 days to get them to me. Which if he had a clue its really 15 days. As I said before it is two sides with every story and this is mine. I will leave with this note. In the 12-14 years I have never had an issue with this place. This doctor comes in and this. I hope Gary reads this and understands why I took this as far as I did.
I love St. Clairs they are very nice, detail oriented, great staff with friendly smiles and opthalmologist, who make sure you get the best services possible and the designer frames that I like. I look forward to continued services from St. Clairs
Refused to allow me to set appointments for my family together on the same day. Apparently theres a two per household limit on how many appointments you can set in a single day, so it would take me three trips to get glasses for my family of five. Not a good way to run a business.
Nothing less than a nightmare!! Save your time and money....
Great doctors and nice facility
Quality of exam aok, but customer service by all others is very poor, especially via phone.
They forget to order my glasses
