Extremely disappointing crack repairs on Gerundino flamenco guitar. I dont know who did the cleats at this shop but its one of the worst repairs Ive ever seen. Typically the cleats are shaped with clean bevels and similar wood and meticulously placed and spaced along the cracks. Not here, random mismatched square bulky blocks carelessly placed and misaligned along the cracks. Glue was also smeared and left to dry. Super sloppy and careless. I dont care if Guitar Salon or the other guitar peddlers bring there guitars here for repairs, I absolutely would not trust this shop for anything based on this sloppy careless work. Just aweful!
Amazing store with great staff who are very friendly and provide excellent service!
While there is no question German is a fantastic luthier, my issue is with Armand. I gave them $1000 to finish a guitar I recieved from Uruguay. While the french polish was much improved the fret work done to it created fret buzz and now the guitar is unplayable. The saddle was supposed to be recarved and was never touched. Although I’ve never met Armand, I can tell just by interacting with him over the phone on several occassions he’s incredibly lazy and uses German for merely a paycheck without any care of the quality of service provided. He’ll tell you different prices once you agree to have them service the guitar and he’ll also tell you different work was done to the instrument after you get it back and notice the errors and then say “I misspoke.” German would do better by having more of a professional representation. My guitar was also sent back missing hardware from the tuners. Armand is just after your $. You generally don’t want lazy people handling your $6000 guitar. If I were German, I would audit his accounting. Customer beware
Awesome spot, that Id say is a hidden gem. Im visiting from Chicago and needed to adjust the action on my friends guitar. They were swift with the repair.
We came here for a birthday party and had a great time! The host and servers were all great and very accommodating. Obviously, the beer is excellent. The birthday girl got the boot of beer and loved it. I also ordered the Kölsch wheel of beer for us all to toast and sing Happy birthday and it was the perfect touch. And the food was good, too. I grew up in Austria and it was fun to see an authentic German menu given some LA flair (truffle fries, etc.).
I was worried because Im beginning to learn, with a cheap, old guitar, and not a lot of money. I just wanted some strings and it wasnt clear if this was the right place because everyone else here seems to be a guitar nut getting custom instruments carved out of rare woods and strung with angels hairs. They were friendly and patient in explaining what factors to consider for both strings and learning in general. Their prices are good for what they have, the one star docked is for the small selection. Overall glad to have a local shop nearby with friendly people who dont mind explaining to a new person. Open sign is real small and it might look closed as you drive by.
Ive been to Vazquez Guitar Shop a few times just for help with strings for my guitar and they strung my guitar with a new set. I was there today for advice about my other guitar in which I didnt buy there, but they were overwhelmingly helpful and had amazing patients. The sale manager there went to the great length and helping to search online for additional help. I cant express what a great shop this is.
Very helpful staff. Lots of interesting guitars and amps you wont find at your usual Vazquez Guitar Shop.Good: Vintage instruments that they in courage you to play. Good selections of high end and boutique gear. Lots of interesting museum like displays to check out.
I really love this place. The service is top notch and they have a really awesome selection of beers. I have yet to order food but will definitely be back to try some menu items.
So many selections with extremely friendly staff!! I took a guitar lesson with some friends and our instructor was super informative and helpful!! Ill definitely be back!
Small local shop with experience. Very very fair pricing, got my guitar repaired twice here and will be coming back! I always find street parking easily by front too if not on the little side street
This man is a master luthier. The guitars he makes are stunning and sound incredible. I feel privileged that I can take my guitar to him for repairs etc. If I had the money I would buy one of his classical guitars they are incredible works of art.
Just found this little Gem near my new house! Armand is great! I will take my guitar and have a pick-up put in!
Very friendly staff. Amazing handmade classical and flamenco guitars. I was very impressed.
This place is crazy cool, it feels like youre going into a secret guitar shop in mexico with a master luthier in the back, because you are! but youre in LA. super cool low key place.
I jus read the article published by “La Opinion” the Los Angeles Spanish Newspaper where they talk about this gentleman making the guitar for the movie “Coco”..👍🏻 this is beautiful..👍🏻.
Great customer service, they repaired our vihuela and a guitar and had it ready by the date they gave us.
The only place to get that one of a kind guitar made for you
Fast turnaround service, fixed my guitar for a very good price :)
Amazing service. Pure art!
Best shop ever! Killer guitars!!
One of my employees spent alot of money, getting his guitar fixed, which they ended up taking over $200.00 from him.
Took my new bass for a set up (nut spacing for strings, bridge, and truss rod adjustments) they told me something was wrong with my truss rod so they couldnt adjust it. They failed to adjust anything and they still charged me full price! Took it to Boulevard Music and they adjusted my truss rod free of charge! Vazquez is a rip off and i will never go back.
Real craft, hand made guitars!
Superior luthier
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
